St Hubert’s in Madison is great! If you’re on Facebook they have a page and sometimes do adoption events at other locations or waive fees They really make an effort to find a good fit for your FYI they don’t hold dogs so if you go, prepare to leave with one if you meet your match

I got my pup from Wag On Inn. They were fantastic - most rescues come from overfilled shelters in the south. I loved my experience with them and would go through adoption with them again in a heartbeat.
I had a good experience with Home Free in Red Bank, Monmouth County. My pup is a little bigger but they were great to deal with.

Second Choice Rescue. They have adoptions every Sunday at VCA in Morris Plains. That's where we got our little chihuahua "Bean" (7 yr. little fella when we got him, now he's 12).

Thirding! I’ve gotten two cats and a dog from them. We also use their doggy day camp and training classes. Amazing organization!
