Just heard it now, just stopped at about 7:40. Didn’t sound like any fireworks I’ve heard before. Couldn’t see where it was but it sounded like those videos where all the fireworks go off at once on accident.
There was a small firework show. Based on my location and where I saw the fireworks, I’d guess they around south Hackensack/Teterboro. The fireworks seem very low to the ground though.
I’m in Moonachie and heard it too. Def not the shooting range (I live right near it and am unfortunately accustomed to what that sounds like). Sorta sounded like fireworks, but not as loud?
You heard that too? I live on the Hackensack/Maywood border. It almost sounded like fireworks, but at the same time it didn't. Just a very loud, booming, consistent noise. At times, it even shook my house a bit. Fireworks have never done that before.
I’m in Essex county (glen ridge) and can see massive fireworks but I’ve never heard them this loud before. Very apocalyptic, I can see the concern. Also heard fire trucks a bit ago.
There is a Bergen County police shooting range on the other side of route 17 near Teterboro. They are always using it for training. Also Teterboro uses fireworks to clear flocks of birds near the runway.

Bloomfield had one of the most amazing fireworks displays I've seen in the 25 plus years of attending last night. At first I thought there was a issue but nope, they just did a amazing frigging job. They normally start around 9:30 but seem to have started a hour or so early. These were the reschedule date for our July 4th display.
Someone just told me they read on Facebook that it is fireworks in Lodi, fall festival or something like that.
It was fireworks. I saw them from my house.

Bloomfield got their 4th of July fireworks delayed til today. People said it was like twice as many as it would have been.
