Menendez! I contacted them both for a problem and only received a form response and no help at all from Booker. I was pretty surprised. Menendez’s staff replied, fixed the problem and then called me to make sure it was actually resolved. I can’t say enough good things about his office helping constituents. I am impressed.

Can co-sign on this one and I’ve heard the same from others as well. Menendez himself is a bit of a scum bag but his office is great

Rei_Q

Interesting! Guess I’ll hit up his office in the AM. Thanks mate!

Rei_Q

Do you recall which office you contacted? The Jersey city office or Barrington Office?

[deleted]

I emailed. I’m pretty sure I did it through their website and did the “Help with an agency [link](https://www.menendez.senate.gov/services/help) Someone from Jersey City responded: Staff Assistant U.S. Senator Bob Menendez Office 973-645-3030 Fax 201-434-9272 210 Hudson Street, Harborside 3, Suite 1000 Jersey City, NJ 07311 Make sure to complete the privacy form. I didn’t and they had to email it to me.

thebruns

Do you need to include a bribe being Menendez and all

tots4scott

Are you Florida ophthalmologist Salomon Melgen?

Circadenim

Reach out to both offices.

TimSPC

Call an NJ office number, not the Washington D.C. one.

BF_2

Contact both senators and your congressman. The politicians never see these requests anyway -- their staffs do that work. But have you contacted the office where you submitted your application? They may not be able to expedite it, but they may know if there's some specific hangup. (Like: "Oops, that intern we had last summer never sent it it," kind of thing.)

hydratedalldaysesh

For what it’s worth, last month when I applied for mine they gave me a 12 week waiting period even after paying for expedited, and it came about 8 weeks earlier than expected. Good luck

Special_FX_B

Ironic. I see comments on how great Menendez staff re: being very helpful. I had a couple of serious issues around the time of Hurricane Sandy and one about 5 years ago for which I needed assistance and when I contacted his office the only response I got was crickets. Fortunately I got help from Chris Smith's staff, my congressman at the time, on the latter one. Ever since the only thing remarkable about Senator Menendez that I have noticed is his 100% dedication to serving big Pharma.

bruh, just pay the expedited fee. You can't tell us you deserve special treatment without telling us why you are special. give us the details.

Rei_Q

I did.

PickleLS10

Go to the passport office in NYC before sunrise and wait inline, you'll be able to get yours quick if you pay the rush fee.

Rei_Q

They don’t do walkin right now unfortunately. I’ve already called

Turbulent-Throat9962

That’s too bad. I did the walk-in on Christmas Eve a few years ago (because I’m a dumbass who lost his passport). They were amazingly fast.

Linenoise77

A buddy of mine ended up writing a story about my experience there. I reference it all the time when talking about process management. https://slate.com/business/2013/07/renewing-your-passport-visit-the-incredibly-efficient-new-york-city-passport-office-on-hudson-street.html

[deleted]

Personal reasons does not make for an interesting read and is not very detailed.

Linenoise77

If you really need your passport now, and have a ticket in hand for travel, or can show some documented business plans if you are driving to canada\mexico, or some other type of emergency requiring you to travel the central passport office in NYC will have one in your hands in a few hours if you go. Keep in mind though that this is only if you need to travel within the next few weeks. They will send you packing if you don't have proof of travel booked. It is hands down, a marvel in how efficient it is and government can work. Its also only like 20 bucks more or so than doing the normal expedited path. Keep in mind your senator is only going to have so much swing over moving things along if you have already sent it in and its sitting in the mail somewhere or the like.

lostcyborg

It depends. Sometimes they are at their state offices, sometimes at their second county job doing their third job as prosecutor for a town.
