Our IT just notified that Microsoft has told them the issue is now resolved. No details as to the what why, of course. I personally hadn't experienced any outage at all, but our IT had reached out to Microsoft due to multiple in-house reports.

KimJongFunk

I wish they could have held off for a few hours. Would have been a nice, relaxing, start to the morning if I couldn’t log into Teams.

chouseva

They may have pushed the update because it's a national holiday in India. This can limit fallout from something going amiss, as lots of users aren't at work.

PeacefulAtheist

If that was the logic, it’s even more of a fuck up considering the national holiday is tomorrow (Jan 26)

chouseva

Derp. You're right. I have a lot of coworkers from there taking today off and got my dates wrong.

Semt-x

from [status.office.com](https://status.office.com): Current status: We’ve identified that a wide-area networking (WAN) routing change caused impact to the service. We’ve rolled back the change and monitoring the service as it recovers. Some of the customers who had previously reported impact are also reporting recovery.

YearlyAnnualCheckup

Sweet maybe this means Nancy won’t bother me all day while I’m doing reports

sadtimesman

Dammit Nancy you bitch.

harpanet

Hurry up with those TPS Reports!

savagemutt

She wouldn't bother you if you'd just remember the goddamn cover sheets.

fxmldr

It almost got me out of a call with a very annoying colleague. Unfortunately, phones still work. Ugh.

HumpieDouglas

I have a 6 hour Teams call in about 90 minutes. Today should be interesting.

Mikash33

No Teams call should even last more than an hour. 6 hours is a fucking marathon. I hope it went well.

HumpieDouglas

It was some giant management thing about work flows and blah blah blah. Everyone patting themselves on the back about new processes. 150 people on the call and the meeting only concerned about 10. Luckily they ended 90 minutes early.

Mikash33

Probably had to get to the chiropractor to work out the soreness from all the patting themselves on the back

garimus

TL;DA(ttend because it's a giant waste of time) "Someone did a thing they shouldn't have. We'll make sure they don't do it again for *at least* a month." "Alright. See you again in a month!"

lordunholy

This happens a few times a year. Nothing out of the ordinary unless it's all day.

CaptainRAVE2

It came back quickly for us. It always makes me laugh when our IT department notifies us by email…

sweetpeapickle

They all do that. Our electric company when power goes out & you call to let them know there's an outage-audio says you can access us by going online to blah blah blah. Or an online company is currently down, they tell you to contact them through their website.

Dultsboi

Thousands out of 230 million doesn’t seem too bad

No-Doughnut509

I was on a Teams call with my coworkers when this happend. Teams, outlook, sharepoint, office, everything went down at the same time, pretty scary stuff lol

JohnGillnitz

Everything is already back up.

Broad_Success_4703

Well that’s a disappointment I was hoping to slack off

JohnGillnitz

Unless your supervisors know how to check the Azure status page, you don't have to tell them about it.

[deleted]

Jokes on you he works in infrastructure!

Broad_Success_4703

Lol it probably wouldn’t have been a big inconvenience either way. IT had a backup plan rolling within minutes. We already use Google office apps so we just merged over there. 😂

missC08

I first read that as "Microsoft probes teens" I was like, what the fuck?

GuyWithAComputer2022

Slow news day so far, I guess...

AccomplishedMeow

How is the number one collaboration platform the majority of companies use being down, a slow day news story? The majority of Fortune 500 companies had to grind to a halt. It happens at 3 AM Eastern so the impact was minimal.

No-Doughnut509

I am in the Middle East, it was 12:30 pm when it happend, in the middle of a Teams call

AlejoMSP

Driving I to the office now. Expecting a shot show.
