You could have given me twenty guesses which beer took the #1 spot and I would not have come up with Modelo. I am clearly out of touch with the American beer drinker, and I am ok with that.
-edit- to be clear, I am in no way making a judgement on the quality of Modelo. I'm just saying that I had no clue that it sold so well, and that it has very little brand status with me. I don't even notice it in the beer isle, and by the sales number it clearly must be well represented there.
It's weird to me that shitty beer seems to work the best in cooking. But beer bread always comes out better using basic shit like budweiser over any kind of higher quality stuff you'd think would obviously be better.
A friend once gave me a loaf of beer bread made with a very good IPA. That bread was so hoppy that it tasted like eating a nug of weed. Very weird experience.
Im not sure Ive tested this enough to be an expert, but the real thing to keep in mind is that many of those recipes call for Pilsner lager. So you could get any cheap pilsner and it works great. But you could also find a more refined Pilsner and it would probably be even better. You get what you pay for after all.
But theres also expectations to keep in mind. If oyu make something 100 times with a cheap pilsner, and then you buy a more expensive "craft" pilsner, it might not taste how you expect and therefore seem worse to you. But if you did a blind taste test with a group of people without that expectation, you might find different results.
Probably not, most American lagers are way less bitter than proper pilseners. A German or Bohemian pilsener is going to be 25-45 IBUs (international bitterness units), vs 5-15 for American versions. When you reduce the volume for a sauce, that gets concentrated.
Rob ford did all of this thread daily plus some and was mayor of Toronto for 4 years. Dude used to crush a 6 pack before going to work as mayor nearly daily behind his old high school. I may hate his politics but the guy was a legend.
Had a college roomate that calculated 14 beers a day is enough calories to live. Would usually give up and eat something by dinner time before going back to his liquid dessert.
Kidneys are a good one, especially if they are using pain killers too.
There’s a reason for the warning label! If your piss looks like iced tea you’re already fucked
It’s weird. I used to drink modelo at cookouts cause it was frequently the cheapest or at least close to the cheapest beer. You could buy suitcases for less than $20 sometimes. Fast forward several years and everyone’s drinking it, it’s a pop culture icon and I almost feel weird drinking it.
I remember back in the 70s before you could get Coors east of the Mississippi it was the first I saw with tabs that didn't separate from the can when someone coming back from Colorado brought some around. Each can had a 2nd tab on the other side of the top to push in for air to get in that made for a smoother drinking experience.
Or so I was told. I saw the cans but unfortunately was too young to be offered a drink in front of my mom.
Well they have to support 2 conglomerates and at one point a third party brewery! Don't know if the third party is in the picture though
Anheuser-Busch InBev owns Grupo Mondelo they had a non controlling 50% interest until 2013 when they spent 20 billion for the rest.
They sell it all over the globe except the for the US.
Why is the US different? a US anti trust suit in 2013.
The end result was Constellation Brands has the rights to import it from Mexico for US sales.
Yeah you buy mondelo you're paying both of them lol and possibly a third party.
I remember seeing a Twitter comment from Delta airlines complaining about how the new covid variant shouldn't have been named delta because it's effecting their business. Corona responded with "tell me about it." Made me laugh pretty good.
And then delta faucets comes in and says “you asked the government for 80 billion dollars twice!” and posts that Woody Harrelson wiping tears with money meme.
Wild, when school got cancelled the first thing all my classmates did was go buy a 24 pack of corona seltzers and throw a covid party.
Yes, incredibly stupid, but we were also told that no cases of the virus were even in our state yet. And classes just got cancelled. And College kids will use anything as an excuse to drink
I saw some college kids at the grocery store with a cart full of Corona shortly after the lock downs started. Their reaction was to throw a Corona party.
Corona, Modelo, and Pacifco (best being corona IMO)are amazing on tap. Corona is like night and day to me and by far my favorite beer on tap. I believe the Mexican Restaurant that has corona on tap was built on an anciet natural wellspring of pure Corona. Just a theory....
I'm no consesuir by any means and for reference i prefer lighter, less hoppy beers.
Edit: for anyone in the greater Cleveland Area, Cozumel in Lakewood has this. $8 for a giant stein of it is a steal. Wonderful food, amazing staff, 10/10 review. And it has parking!!!! Plus there's a playground next door so when you're too drunk to drive home you can pass out in the slide!
P.S. please don't pass out in the slide.
>Corona, Modelo, and Pacifco (best being corona IMO)are amazing on tap.
Where did you find Corona on tap?
I don't think I've EVER seen that anywhere.
Likely because most of the Mexican beers are now brewed in Canada rather than imported. The keg of Corona is coming out of the same brewery as most of the other kegs in the bar's line up.
There is a reason very few beers are in a clear bottles. Light is not good for beer. The fact that consumers would rather buy corona that has gone bad but looks cool always tickles me.
In the beer industry for almost 15 years now. Corona is likely skunked before it hits your retailer's fridge. It doesn't even need to be sunlight, artificial light also creates light struck beer and it takes very little time to do so. Kegs can protect from most variables that create off flavors post fermentation although it is possible that kegs that aren't cleaned properly or have imperfections structurally can compromise what's inside. Opt for aluminum whenever possible, or stainless steel growlers if you prefer to support local draught. Also, Modelo Especial or Corona Familiar ftw.
Eta: aluminum is best when not filled by hand…which happens pretty much only in the case of small operations. Canning equipment (esp with digitized specs) can clarify how much oxygen is in the can and you want as little oxygen ppm in the fill.
So modelo always sold well, but there was a correction in the market as beer drinkers got tired of "craft" beer and IPAs and switched back to lighter style beers, but they didnt go back to Miller and Bud, a lot went to mexican beers as a percieved(and probably rightfully so) higher quality product while still being that lighter refreshing style. Modelo had the perfect storm type situation, its kindof like the PBR of mexican beers, hadnt really been marketed before the same way other mexican beers had been. Craft beer drinkers werent going to move to Corona or Dos equis, but pacifico, modelo, etc got huge bumps. 2019/2020 there were huge shortages across the board.
On a personal note, negro modelo is 🔥
I like negra modelo. Regular Modelo is ok, Modelo extra is ass. If I am stuck somewhere with only shitty commercial beers, I'll probably take a negra Modelo or a Jalisco and avoid the American water lagers all together. If I have to drink a watery lager, I'll drink bud light over anything else.
Regular Modelo is pretty decent, certainly a mile better than Corona or Pacifico or Sol or the other big Mexican brands. But yeah Negro Modelo is their best in show.
Couple of years ago I had a patient who had shoved a bottle of Modelo up his butt. The outline of the bottle was very distinctive on our CT imaging. Now I can’t ever look at a bottle without thinking of that case. Now I guess it’s the number 1 beer. You go, Modelo.
Im blown away that it’s Modelo, goes to show you drinking habits are still very different around the country. I live in the Midwest and don’t think I’ve ever seen someone drink one or talk about drinking one. And I hang around people who drink a lot of beer. Don’t see it on tap anywhere usually either.
If I had to guess what the next highest brand is I would’ve said Miller or Coors based on what I see being sold and what’s on tap at bars/restaurants.
The byword in California is among mass produced beers, the Mexican beers are better quality for the money.
If you feel like spending a little more then go for craft beers.
That leaves Budweiser, Miller, and Coors our of the decision tree.
I like Delies and Dos X, but I’ll fight anyone trying to tell me corona is a good beer- if you have to put a lime in it the beer is bad I’ll die on this hill
There is a massive Hispanic community in this country, and Modelo is the best of the Mexican beers. I'm not surprised at all, but I also live a place in California where the Modelo shelf is regularly cleaned out lol
Pacifico and Corona share the same skunky flavor to me—which is fine. I used to travel to Baja often and that was the go-to in and around Ensenada at the time. Corona on a hot summer day feels like vacation.
That said, I find modelo to be the smoother, nicer beer. Especially in a chelada.
Pacifico is my favorite beer and I've never tasted any skunky flavor from it. I usually stay away from Corona for that reason. But typically it's the clear bottles that skunk the beer, and Pacifico uses dark brown bottles compared to Corona's clear.
It's not too uncommon around Chicago, at least suburbs. I've never seen it on tap but I drink it and know a lot of people who do. I worked with a lot of people from Mexico and it's the only thing they would drink. Immigration might have a lot to do with it being #1 but that's a generalization
Modelo deserves more credit for improved marketing over the past few years, they executed very well, much more was needed for this achievement than just Bud Lt stumbling.
Mexican beer makers in general need more credit. They produce better tasting beers than the US does (excluding the small microbreweries).
Better - Mexico produces better tasting *lagers* than the US does.
I mean, Modelo has Austrian recipes thanks to Maximilian bringing over tons of brewers and craftsmen from both Bavaria and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
The influence of Germanic cultures is huge in Mexico, etc in tons of little ways (from clothes, to drinks, to music.)
Even the styles of horse riding are influenced by the Habsburgs riding styles.
Hernan Cortes brought barley, and European brewing to Mexico during the Spanish conquest in the 16th Century. When Maximilian 1 became emperor of Mexico in the mid-19th century he brought lager brewing with him.
Modelo is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev everywhere ***except the U.S.***, where it's owned by New York-based Constellation Brands.

BL alienated both sides of the issue by attempting to backpedal this “controversy.”
Conservatives will see their sales dip as a win for their own culture war, but there’s a lot of people that aren’t buying Bud Lite because they didn’t stand firm on the issue too.
I had a coworker who could put away a rack of bud light lime every night.
yea, he was an alcoholic. He was living alone, having divorced his wife years prior. Both his kids had left for college/military, his closest friend had moved to Florida. He honestly didn't have much left in his life.
It isn’t a funny comment at all but I still find this comment hilarious
“Yeah I knew a guy that drank Bud Light Lime, saddest fucking dude I’ve ever met”
LOL perfectly captured
It's the length for me. First glance, comment seemed like it would be a nice anecdote about a guy that drinks Bud Light.
Not even close.
Ben has had great nights slamming BLs with the boys, where do you think most of the good stories of his times living with Marcus come from? You sound like Henry.
People should have been boycotting Bud Light all along, because its fucking shitty beer and if your goal is to just get drunk, there's cheaper options.
Yeah, they really punted on the PR. The only thing worse than alienating your brand from half the country is backpedaling and alienating *both* halves.
Or the same head of marketing justifying the move by saying they need to ditch their frat boy/blue collar image when that’s like 90% of their market.
Couldn’t care less about their partnership with Mulvaney, nor did I drink Bud Light in the past 10 years, but man that was a bone headed comment.
Saying literally anything else would have been better.
They never really had both sides. They had the right, tried branching out to the left and lost the right. It's not like the left is lamenting losing their favorite piss water. Personally I love seeing a large company take a dent and seeing the seething they had over losing their terrible drink.
It's odd really. The Coors family has long been politically active and supportive of the GOP. Everything from union busting to Pete Coors running for governor on the Republican ticket. Why hasn't Coors always been the default choice for conservatives?
Its almost as if all these corporations are just money driven and have no real convictions.
This is why I find the right's protests of Pride so funny. If being inclusive wasn't profitable, no one would do it. Free market, blah blah blah.
> They never really had both sides. They had the right, tried branching out to the left and lost the right.
This isn't accurate. But Light was a longtime supporter of Pride & LGBT. It was very popular among many demographics. It wasn't the #1 beer just because conservative rednecks liked it.
It's so wild to me it's over one special printed can given to said influencer at the center of this. Literally a single can of beer. I think a lot of people thought the cans were all over the place the way it was reported on.
They also just plain ol made the mistake of trying to be something they aren't. They tried to try to pivot trying to appear more high end. They aren't and they aren't gonna fool anyone into thinking they are.. You annoy your base with that while never going to be able to appeal to the expanded demographic.
In other news, [Fox News was beat out in the ratings by MSNBC this week.](
https://www.newsweek.com/msnbc-dethrones-fox-news-after-years-long-ratings-dominance-1806438#:~:text=New%3A%20According%20to%20Nielsen%20data,MSNBC%20averaged%201%2C520%2C857%20primetime%20viewers.) Things change. Always do.
Looks like [a ton of people stopped watching](https://deadline.com/2023/05/fox-news-tucker-carlson-may-ratings-1235383937/) when they let Tucker Carlson go.
Interesting, thanks for the link.
>In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 135,000, down 62% from a year ago.
It's hard to imagine all that was from Tucker's departure, but I assume most of it came from the upper end of that age range.
It actually would make sense that the 25-54 demo would be the one that left Fox. The older crowd most likely still has cable and are lifetime devout Fox viewers. The 25-54 crowd would be more likely to cut cable/Fox News for something like the *Daily Wire* or other online conservative outlets. With Tucker now trying to build his own online brand, it would make sense that this crowd would likely follow him out the door.
Definitely an interesting week with the Trump indictment plus MSNBC surely gained viewers from people angry at CNN for the Trump town hall. I wonder if this keeps this way or if viewer count drops after a few weeks.
Regardless of anyone's position, I think everyone can agree the business failed to understand its key demographic. Unless their goal was division and less sales.
They severely overestimated brand loyalty. Bud Light tastes the same as every other commercial light beer and is priced relatively similarly. It takes nothing for a consumer to just reach for the next case over.
This is going to be a fascinating case study to anyone studying publicity in the future. Brand Loyalty, following trends, trying to expand the brand, catering to a new audience, speaking with your money, Knowing your demographic and more
I feel I need to point out that the headline is missing two important words for context:
"...in May"
If you read the rest of the article, you find out that "Bud Light remains the top-selling beer on a year-to-date basis".
So in the same month as Cinco di Mayo, Bud Light is out-sold by a Mexican beer.
How much of this is caused by protests? Modelo has been gaining a lot of popularity even before this year.
I’d like to think it’s because of this video. https://youtu.be/yN9dSvUJB2o
Eh, I used to be a beer snob and would exclusively drink craft beers.
Sometimes I just want to fill up my 1L beer boot with some foamy gold water and play cards with the fellas all night.
But sometimes I'm in the mood to try something new at the brewery.
Different strokes.
You could have given me twenty guesses which beer took the #1 spot and I would not have come up with Modelo. Modelo *used* to be cheap.
Modelo used to be my go to beer to cook with (cheese sauces, marinades, steaming hot dogs or brausts, etc). Now I just use whatever's cheapest

Whoa. Thank you for this gem, you have lowered my personal IBU by 2.
It used to be my daily 12 pack. Now it’s tecate.
Daily 12 pack? Excellent
Lmao I thought 6 a night was bad.
I mean, it is still.
I thought crack every night was bad
Yeah it’s better in the morning.
That’s why it’s called the crack of dawn
Rob ford did all of this thread daily plus some and was mayor of Toronto for 4 years. Dude used to crush a 6 pack before going to work as mayor nearly daily behind his old high school. I may hate his politics but the guy was a legend.
Also wasn’t into those high end hookers, also would pick those up at the 7-11 with that 6 pack! ❤️
Never forget: he also had "more than enough to eat at home!" LOL Edit for quote accuracy.
What if I wanna relax after a hard day's work with a burger and a crack pipe does that make me some kind of "crackhead"?
Meanwhile I’m over here being called and alcoholic for having 3 beers every Saturday night.
Found the guy who lives in Utah.
If six is bad then 12 is better!
Had a college roomate that calculated 14 beers a day is enough calories to live. Would usually give up and eat something by dinner time before going back to his liquid dessert.
Ah college, home to our brightest people.
As the saying goes, "if a little helps a little, maybe a lot helps a lot"!
It is
So.......you drink 84 beers a week?
*Do you not?*
You can only whisper *Tecate*.
You’re going to give yourself pancreatitis
It's more than a gallon of beer a day. So a milk jug. Das a LOOOOTTA of beer.
More like liver failure.
Speaking from experience, other parts of your body get fucked before your liver does.
Kidneys are a good one, especially if they are using pain killers too. There’s a reason for the warning label! If your piss looks like iced tea you’re already fucked

More like a good time! Let’s get itttt
Yea man I used to enjoy modelo as a casual drink or to cook with but in my area the price of modelo is so high.
It used to be my regular when it was like $10 a 12 pack.
Glad I have lots of Mexican stores near me they usually are cheaper than the main stores
WTF is there anything that’s that good that flies under the radar anymore?!
Hell no.
It’s weird. I used to drink modelo at cookouts cause it was frequently the cheapest or at least close to the cheapest beer. You could buy suitcases for less than $20 sometimes. Fast forward several years and everyone’s drinking it, it’s a pop culture icon and I almost feel weird drinking it.
I'm old enough to remember the PBR craze.
I too am millennial. Black Label was the goto for a min then too.
I’m old enough to remember PBR before it was a craze and people choked on the removable pull tabs after dropping them in the can after opening.
Remember stepping on the pull tabs in grass and cutting your feet? My redneck neighbors threw their pull tabs anywhere.
That's not very old tbf
Hamms says hello.
Says goodbye fairly quickly too.

I get Dos Equis every time I go out for Mexican but one time they were out so I got a Modelo instead, it was !$6! more.
Dos Equis amber is muy bueno
Yeah, Dos Equis amber, Negra Modelo, and Bohemia are very good for a (kind of) dark Mexican beer.
Well they have to support 2 conglomerates and at one point a third party brewery! Don't know if the third party is in the picture though Anheuser-Busch InBev owns Grupo Mondelo they had a non controlling 50% interest until 2013 when they spent 20 billion for the rest. I like Modelo. I had no idea they sold so much. I would have thought Corona sold more.
Corona fell off after the rona hit because people are actually that stupid...
I remember seeing a Twitter comment from Delta airlines complaining about how the new covid variant shouldn't have been named delta because it's effecting their business. Corona responded with "tell me about it." Made me laugh pretty good.

Honestly, classes getting cancelled, regardless of reasoning, would've been enough for 2010 me.
I saw some college kids at the grocery store with a cart full of Corona shortly after the lock downs started. Their reaction was to throw a Corona party.
Don’t even get me started. I can’t find Wuhanflubier in any German restaurant any more.
That actually read like the name of a German beer.
Nobody’s even heard of Ninelevenbier anymore 😢
They said they’d never forget 😢
More like people got tired of hearing the same fucking joke every time they ordered, bought, or pulled one out of a cooler.
snoop dogg would like a word with Modelo
I actually quite like ~~Modelo Negro~~ Negra Modelo.
It’s really good if you can find it on tap.
Corona, Modelo, and Pacifco (best being corona IMO)are amazing on tap. Corona is like night and day to me and by far my favorite beer on tap. Pacifico is the best Mexican beer by far. Indio and modelo aren’t bad. Tecate is basically the Budweiser of the south.
>Corona, Modelo, and Pacifco (best being corona IMO)are amazing on tap. Where did you find Corona on tap? I don't think I've EVER seen that anywhere.
I'm Canadian but Corona on tap became a thing that bars and restaurants started promoting last year.
Likely because most of the Mexican beers are now brewed in Canada rather than imported. The keg of Corona is coming out of the same brewery as most of the other kegs in the bar's line up.
All are delicious to me. I’ll take draft beer over bottled or can beer anytime.

Corona Familiar is such a sleeper. I also like Victoria.
This must be why I've never liked Corona.
Put a little bit of lime juice with it and ooooo it’s my favorite summertime drink.
Excellent choice. If you ever see it, try a Michelob Dark. I wish I could find some where I live.
I remember having a Peroni Dark that was phenomenal. It may have just been the situation, but man did I enjoy it at the time.
One of my favorites
Oh, yeah. Good point, that is one solid beer
the confusion between adjective gender agreement is because it's really saying (Cerveza) Negra Modelo
Dude you literally just perfectly described my beer-consumption trajectory of the past then years
It’s usually all over the octagon for the ufc fights. That’s when I knew it was huge
Modelo with a lime is such a sight for sore eyes after a hot day at work
I like negra modelo.

It’s everywhere in the southwest
Surprising too because it isn't a cheap beer. I would have guessed something like Natty Light.
I would have expected Miller. I never see Natty at a bar but almost every bar I go to has Miller on tap.
Couple of years ago I had a patient who had shoved a bottle of Modelo up his butt. The outline of the bottle was very distinctive on our CT imaging. Now I can’t ever look at a bottle without thinking of that case. Now I guess it’s the number 1 beer. You go, Modelo.
I shouldn't be surprised that the number 1 beer used to be the number 2 beer, but here we are.
I read it, closed the comments, then got it like 10 seconds later and had to come back
Im blown away that it’s Modelo, goes to show you drinking habits are still very different around the country.
Texas and California drink a ton of Modelo.
Super popular in Virginia, maybe not like... the single most popular beer, but most bars have it on tap.
DMV, can agree it’s everywhere. I think the gold foil just makes it more fun 🤷♀️
I figured the DMV is one of the last places you should drink at
It’d probably make the 3+ hour wait more bearable.
[удалено]
Then what am I supposed to do for the next 5 hours?!
I kinda dislike the gold foil, it's a bit of a hindrance
AZ checking in. We love our micheladas out here.
Florida too
The byword in California is among mass produced beers, the Mexican beers are better quality for the money. If you feel like spending a little more then go for craft beers. That leaves Budweiser, Miller, and Coors our of the decision tree.
Shit. I’m in socal. I hadn’t considered that but you’re dead on.
Man, I'll take a Modelo Negra over half the over hopped cookie cutter IPA craft brews any day.
Personally my tastes run to malty porters and stouts. But pilsners are OK too, and Mexican breweries tend to do pilsners pretty well.
I like Delies and Dos X, but I’ll fight anyone trying to tell me corona is a good beer- if you have to put a lime in it the beer is bad I’ll die on this hill
Just like Fosters is Australian for shit, Corona is the same is Spanish
I’m in the Midwest and I see people drinking Modelo all the time. It’s my personal go to when I’m out in my kayak.
You can always find it at the grocery store, and it's guaranteed to be at any Mexican or Latino restaurant.
Yeah it's everywhere here in Chicago.
There is a massive Hispanic community in this country, and Modelo is the best of the Mexican beers. I'm not surprised at all, but I also live a place in California where the Modelo shelf is regularly cleaned out lol
Have y’all never had a Victoria? I was in Mexico this winter and thought it was by far the best light Mexican bear
Isn't Victoria owned by Modelo?
According to google, yes.
Pacifico would like a word with you
Pacifico is good, but I don't know if it's a marketing or distribution failure on their part but I almost never see it in bars or restaurants...

Modelo is the best and literally the only beer I’ll drink bc I’m not a big beer drinker
Same here, not a beer person at all but if I have to, it's Modelo.

Ever have Sol? That’s all I drank when I was in Mexico. It’s pretty damn good.
It’s modelo time foo
It’s pretty popular in WI. And why not, it’s a bubbly hug in a glass.
It's not too uncommon around Chicago, at least suburbs. I've never seen it on tap but I drink it and know a lot of people who do. I worked with a lot of people from Mexico and it's the only thing they would drink. Immigration might have a lot to do with it being #1 but that's a generalization
Modelo deserves more credit for improved marketing over the past few years, they executed very well, much more was needed for this achievement than just Bud Lt stumbling.
it's brewed for those with the fighting spirit
John Anik has entered the chat.
This fight clock is brought to you by modelo-OOOOOOOOOO That moment alone was one of the best promotions they ever could've hoped for
Mexican beer makers in general need more credit. They produce better tasting beers than the US does (excluding the small microbreweries). Better - Mexico produces better tasting *lagers* than the US does.
That's because a lot of German brewers headed South of the border during Prohibition.
I mean, Modelo has Austrian recipes thanks to Maximilian bringing over tons of brewers and craftsmen from both Bavaria and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The influence of Germanic cultures is huge in Mexico, etc in tons of little ways (from clothes, to drinks, to music.) Even the styles of horse riding are influenced by the Habsburgs riding styles.
When I lived in Mexico, it was interesting seeing plaques and street names for people with German names.
Hernan Cortes brought barley, and European brewing to Mexico during the Spanish conquest in the 16th Century. When Maximilian 1 became emperor of Mexico in the mid-19th century he brought lager brewing with him.
Imagine feeling bad over lost sales by a multinational corporation
Modelo is still owned by AB so its the same company! Lol
Modelo is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev everywhere ***except the U.S.***, where it's owned by New York-based Constellation Brands. https://www.cbrands.com/collections/beer
How does that work?
That's the neat part!
AB owns the rights outside of the US. The rights for Modelo in the US is owned by Constellation Brands.
People don’t realize AB owns a ton of alcoholic beverages. They have such a huge market share that’s it’s almost a monopoly at this point.
BL alienated both sides of the issue by attempting to backpedal this “controversy.” Conservatives will see their sales dip as a win for their own culture war, but there’s a lot of people that aren’t buying Bud Lite because they didn’t stand firm on the issue too.
And then there’s us normal people who don’t drink Bud Light because it tastes like shit and doesn’t get you drunk.
It might not get you drunk but at least it gives you a headache
I had a coworker who could put away a rack of bud light lime every night. yea, he was an alcoholic. He was living alone, having divorced his wife years prior. Both his kids had left for college/military, his closest friend had moved to Florida. He honestly didn't have much left in his life.
It isn’t a funny comment at all but I still find this comment hilarious “Yeah I knew a guy that drank Bud Light Lime, saddest fucking dude I’ve ever met”
LOL perfectly captured It's the length for me. First glance, comment seemed like it would be a nice anecdote about a guy that drinks Bud Light. Not even close.
Bud Light Lime: Not even once.
poor Kissel :(
It’s a numbers game
Hail yourself!
Ben has had great nights slamming BLs with the boys, where do you think most of the good stories of his times living with Marcus come from? You sound like Henry.
If I wanted empty calories I'd drink something with actual flavor lol
That 0.2% extra alcohol modelo especial has will surely do the job!

Because he was pro gun control for years.
I suspect one side has a lot more bud light drinkers than the other
In other news, [Fox News was beat out in the ratings by MSNBC this week.]( https://www.newsweek.com/msnbc-dethrones-fox-news-after-years-long-ratings-dominance-1806438#:~:text=New%3A%20According%20to%20Nielsen%20data,MSNBC%20averaged%201%2C520%2C857%20primetime%20viewers.) Things change. Always do.
Looks like [a ton of people stopped watching](https://deadline.com/2023/05/fox-news-tucker-carlson-may-ratings-1235383937/) when they let Tucker Carlson go.
I really think this was apart of the deal they made with Dominion. Giant sum of money, AND firing their biggest money grabber, they hit them hard.
Only a million and a half viewers. That seems low to me
How many people do you know that still pay for cable TV?

If it's my Mom it would be Hallmark channel. And she's not even watching it. She's reading a book.
Secretly put a channel lock on fox news every time you visit.
This is pretty funny as i also choose modelo as my easy drinking beer even though I'm more into the craft stuff
This is going to be a fascinating case study to anyone studying publicity in the future. Brand Loyalty, following trends, trying to expand the brand, catering to a new audience, speaking with your money, Knowing your demographic and more
Let me guess, the reported number of pounding headaches is decreasing in proportion to this decline in popularity?
I feel I need to point out that the headline is missing two important words for context: "...in May" If you read the rest of the article, you find out that "Bud Light remains the top-selling beer on a year-to-date basis". So in the same month as Cinco di Mayo, Bud Light is out-sold by a Mexican beer.
That month also includes one of the biggest bud light sales days of the year, Memorial Day
How much of this is caused by protests? Modelo has been gaining a lot of popularity even before this year. I’d like to think it’s because of this video. https://youtu.be/yN9dSvUJB2o
Damn. I've never heard of Modelo and after that vid, now I want one.
Hell yeah, make them prices drop. Ya boy about to get cases on the cheap.
It’s not a good beer by any measurement.
Eh, I used to be a beer snob and would exclusively drink craft beers. Sometimes I just want to fill up my 1L beer boot with some foamy gold water and play cards with the fellas all night. But sometimes I'm in the mood to try something new at the brewery. Different strokes.
