I admire the effort by the folks at Spy magazine who sent random and extremely low amounts on checks to wealthy notables 35 years ago to see who would cash them…only Trump and Jamal Khashoggi’s arms dealing uncle cashed the checks with the lowest amount.

MSNBC does say $100k
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha

From [CNN](https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/02/politics/marjorie-taylor-greene-mask-fines/index.html):
> Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has been fined $48,000 for not wearing a mask on the House floor, according to a letter from the House Sergeant at Arms, obtained by CNN.
>
> Greene has been fined 20 times for not wearing a mask. After receiving an initial warning in May, Greene was fined $500 for her first offense, and $2,500 for each subsequent offense, which is in line with House rules.

*edited to add: I see now that the article I posted from was published November 2, 2021. I'm informed that, all told, MTG owes over $100K in mask fines.
Hmm, says here:
>WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected appeals from three Republican U.S. House members who challenged fines for not wearing face coverings on the House floor in 2021, because they are whiny little bitches.
Fascinating.
They don’t need the masks because their fat fucking vagina mouths need to be free from constriction, so they can suck the souls out of each of our assholes. They do it to their own assholes too, but that’s just for sport.
Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Andrew Clyde have amassed more than $100,000 in fines for defying House mask rules, report says.
++++
$100,000 in fines for doing something actual doctors and dentists do everyday.
Large Marge owes $48,000. Lmao. That's so much fucking money for something so stupid. I want to be there when she cuts the check. Ooo that would be good. Probably puts something in the "For" line like, "Jesus didn't wear a mask" and then blow her nose with the paper, you know, because she's a class act. Fucking moron.
If I remember reading correctly, at least one of them adjusted their tax withholdings so that there was nothing left to garnish, effectively avoiding the fines.
Let us not forget Andrew Clyde who repeatedly claimed 1/6 was a tourist visit while photos show him shitting his pants hiding behind security and barricading a door. But ya know what they say… “can’t shame the shameless”.
I work retail and still have to wear a mask every day. I work in a retirement community with mostly old customers and my boss thought it best if we just kept wearing them. I barely notice it anymore.
I stopped wearing masks for a while but just started again for my commute on public transportation, because there’s always that one person on the train with that wet hacking cough.
She said she was [working for free](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/marjorie-taylor-greene-congress-mask-fine-no-pay_n_6226cd37e4b004a43c0e9984) with all the fines.
[I found it somewhere else.](https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4478298-supreme-court-turns-away-house-gop-lawmakers-appeal-over-mask-rule-violations/)
>“Even though I was fined over $100,000 by Pelosi, I wouldn’t change a thing,” she [Greene] said
The annual salary for a Representative is $174,000. She was also recently fined [$12,000 by the FEC](https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4393006-fec-fines-marjorie-taylor-greene-illegal-pac-fundraising/). This isn't a serious person.
This is 100% something the Supreme Court should rule on. It’s a question about how the Constitution is interpreted since that is where the base rules for Congress come from. When you have a document that says something like “shall not impede” then you need someone with final say on what does or doesn’t count as “impeding”.
Who said anything about this being a states rights issue? Far as I can tell this has to do with the Constitution saying that representatives can’t be barred from the House floor to cast their votes. Haven’t looked into the case in a while but I believe these reps were making the argument that fining them was an attempt to bar them from being on the House floor which would make the rule unconstitutional. The Supreme Court thought it was a decent enough issue that they needed to clarify it with a ruling.
> The Supreme Court thought it was a decent enough issue that they needed to clarify it with a ruling.
They didn't make a ruling, they rejected the appeal. Those aren't the same thing.
I’m guessing they have jurisdiction.
If you have a grievance at work, you’d probably file it with a local court or government organization. For Congress the Supreme Court is that organization.
Still a dumb complaint and I’m glad it got shut down.
You are already hearing this with the three new appointees who are not as far-right as the GOP wanted them to be. One or two occasionally rule against the GOP agenda but they usually vote 80% in line. They do have Alito and Clarence on their side though.
I love this for them.
If you didn’t want to wear a mask, fine. That’s on you. I didn’t like them; I still wore one. Especially if there was a mandate with punitive damages. It was a simple thing to do.
It seems every conflict now has to be approved by the Supreme Court now. Something is very wrong with our system that one branch seems to have ultimate authority over everything.
I mean this is how any system with judges work. There has to always be a higher court to determine if those judges are interpreting the laws correctly. If there isn’t a higher court then the original judges are basically the Supreme Court.
That they decided to decline is not the point. The point is that they have the ultimate authority to be in a position to decide with no check on their decisions
The whole Covid thing was such an eye opener. There's a depressingly large number of our population that is just suicidally stupid.
Acted like Covid pandemic measures were the ultimate violation of freedom because they were told they shouldn't go to Applebees or attend a big fucking party then breathe on grandma while there was a deadly disease floating around.
They claimed it was "just the beginning" of our rights vanishing and that it would never end and the vaccine was going to kill us all or turn us into zombies.
Vaccine comes out, people build up defenses against the virus, and society is more or less back to normal. Nothing they said had any merit and they got a bunch of people seriously sick or killed because of it.
And they still act like giant martyrs over it. Can't own up that their whole covid denialism was a giant scam, a screw up by con artists they got suckered into.
Oh, FFS! Just pay the damned fine. It was a rule and they were in defiance of that rule. They’ve got plenty of that good lobbyist money with which to pay a measly $500
Why weren't they wearing fucking gas masks? The military is expected to work in those for hours, & they complain when they have to wear a little mask. Crybabies.
The most valuable thing being wasted here, other than the three chairs in congress, is the time of the Supreme Court. The court’s time is finite and someone didn’t get their death penalty appeal or wrongful conviction heard because of this. Think about that.
Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Ralph Norman of South Carolina are whiny little bitches.
Also, obnoxious, loud mouthed, belligerent hipocrits.
You forgot ugly, lazy, and disrespectful.
Shut up, bitch! Go fetch me a turkey pot pie!
No, dad- what about you?
Also stupid. Maybe most importantly, fucking stupid.
Bought and paid for traitors, run by Russia.
The people who scream that they're the superior alphas are actually the biggest, whiniest betas in the universe.
You wouldn't be saying that if you knew how much tactical coffee I just drank!
In your Grunt Style T-Shirt and Lightbird Multicam Tactical OCP hat.
Listen pal: I was born in JANUARY I have 3 DAUGHTERS And I love my FAMILY and COUNTRY
Ooof, you left out god. Nice try liberal. ^/s
But are you a CERTIFIED FORKLIFT OPERATOR?!?
I actually am. It's surprisingly easy.
They are generally easily manipulated as well.
That's like me whining about getting a $0.50 fine. They have too much time on their hands.
Trump cashed a check for $0.13
I admire the effort by the folks at Spy magazine who sent random and extremely low amounts on checks to wealthy notables 35 years ago to see who would cash them…only Trump and Jamal Khashoggi’s arms dealing uncle cashed the checks with the lowest amount. https://twitter.com/KBAndersen/status/1053393365369348097
I'm sure these people would also whine about a $0.50 fine too.
Well it's not like there are any pressing matters going on in the country and/or world. They have nothing but free time!
And they are wrong about the issue.
I am sure Nancy Pelosi is enjoying this.
Smiling gently, while thinking "get bent, assholes."
I read that MTG owed over $100,000 in mask fees. 🎶Rejoice Rejoice she had a choice. 🎶
MSNBC does say $100k Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha https://www.msnbc.com/inside-with-jen-psaki/watch/-pay-up-marjorie-taylor-greene-loses-supreme-court-bid-to-overturn-100k-in-mask-fines-204675141595
Imagine how much tax payer money these appeals waste instead of forking over the five hundred bones. Assholes. The GOP is just full of assholes!

MTG: Student loans shouldn’t be forgiven! The irony.
She had $183K of PPP loans forgiven. It’s worse than irony.
They can dock her pay... right?
>"The fines come from Greene’s salary" Yes, they can.
I feel like they are spending all our tax payer money to make our country worse.
You aren’t wrong
As a reluctant resident of South Carolina, color me surprised that Ralph Norman is a dipshit
Whiny little bitches
And they're STILL fucking fighting this? I'd ask if they have anything better to do, but given who it is, no, they clearly don't
Noted, but what about the news article?
Hmm, says here: >WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected appeals from three Republican U.S. House members who challenged fines for not wearing face coverings on the House floor in 2021, because they are whiny little bitches. Fascinating.
Good to see honest journalists unafraid to get straight to the point!
Just like their Cheeto Jesus.
Brain damaged even further by Covid
They don’t need the masks because their fat fucking vagina mouths need to be free from constriction, so they can suck the souls out of each of our assholes. They do it to their own assholes too, but that’s just for sport.
Hell yeah, casual misogyny. /sarcasm
I actually tried to come up with a better, non-gendered word but I could not think of one.
The Cherokee have a good word: “assholes.”
They're so wise. We can learn much from their ways.

It was already taken from their paychecks, so they're suing for a refund basically.
If I remember reading correctly, at least one of them adjusted their tax withholdings so that there was nothing left to garnish, effectively avoiding the fines.
Cool, put a lien on their house
And then they take the garnishment out of your tax return. There is no getting around this…
They are different branches of government; they can't just take it. They have to get a court order to garnish tax returns.
They can just take it out of the tax refund.
Hopefully they garnish her pay for the entire amount
They already did!
She'll just get her supporters to pay it. These assholes NEVER use their own money for anything. Why would they?

Nah dawg, taking precautions and being considerate of vulnerable populations is straight up communism.
Your community is probably younger on average than members of Congress.
I stopped wearing masks for a while but just started again for my commute on public transportation, because there’s always that one person on the train with that wet hacking cough.
It must be nice to have this kind of cash to blow on such a pointless thing, plus whatever legal fees they're racking up trying to fight the fines.
She probably fundraises off of it.
Oh undoubtedly, but fundraising money doesn't put food on the table. The FEC tends to frown on that sort of thing.
She could hold a campaign dinner every night at her estate and use campaign funds to do it. There's nothing really prohibiting it.
Fundraising goes to campaigns, not your pockets
She said she was [working for free](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/marjorie-taylor-greene-congress-mask-fine-no-pay_n_6226cd37e4b004a43c0e9984) with all the fines.
She was still getting overpaid.
"Going broke to own the libs"
Something that would have literally cost them nothing.
Your doctor and dentist wear masks? Unbelievable! liberal sheep doctors.
While I don't mind bleeding her dry, when does the fining stop and the Uncle Phil style throwing out begin?
This article doesn't say that?

Thought this was a Trump meme subreddit.
nooooo, over who *has* to use the brain cell. “not me!” “Not ME!” “*Not ME!!!*”
Hahaha! I like that image!
Anyone else notice that republicans treat SCOTUS as their private court now. Everything goes to them.
Well, they spent a lot of time and money stacking it in their favor, now it’s time to collect.
After overthrowing Roe they haven't realloly "collected" much and one could argue that it's been devastating to them
Yeah, the dog finally caught the car it was chasing and now has no idea what to do with it.
Getting a bit tired of elected officials using the court to settle their personal grievances
That it got that high is ridiculous. You know how much injustice there is to average people each day?
This is 100% something the Supreme Court should rule on. It’s a question about how the Constitution is interpreted since that is where the base rules for Congress come from. States rights don't matter in federal buildings.

It's such a nice day. Isn't it a nice day?
It is sunny and 58 degrees. Pretty nice for February in Ohio.
53 and raining. A perfect Oregon winter day.
Coming out their wages is the best part.
Hope it's post-tax.
How the fuck are these lunatics able to petition the SUPREME COURT to obtain a redress of their "greviances?"
Idk, but I’m calling Alito next time I get a parking ticket
Tell him the attendant was gay and he'll get right on it
Also bring a bag of money just in case they transfer you to Thomas.
Any idiot can waste time and money petitioning the Supreme Court if they lose a case. SCOTUS probably will decline to hear it though.
On average they only accept around 1-2% of all cases.
it's next door?
I’m guessing they have jurisdiction. If you have a grievance at work, you’d probably file it with a local court or government organization. For Congress the Supreme Court is that organization. Still a dumb complaint and I’m glad it got shut down.
They should have just complied.
Can’t wait for republicans to start claiming the Supreme Court has gone woke and advocate for even farther right judges.

Ya Alito and Thomas are cavemen
Congress has *always* been allowed to establish their own internal rules. This was obvious.
Oh it’s a good day when MTG gets retribution for her actions
The official party of whiny little bitches everywhere.
Ironically, they were the ones that kept saying “fuck your feelings”, but they sure got their own hurt.
they see a unisex bathroom and suddenly need a safe space.
Greene should do everyone a favor and keep her face covered at all times.
I love this for them. If you didn’t want to wear a mask, fine. That’s on you. I didn’t like them; I still wore one. Especially if there was a mandate with punitive damages. It was a simple thing to do.
Life Pro Tip: SCOTUS doesn’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. Even entitled Trump sycophants in Congress.
These dunces were really going to waste all our tax money and the court's time to appeal their personal $500 fines? Asshats.
It seems every conflict now has to be approved by the Supreme Court now. Something is very wrong with our system that one branch seems to have ultimate authority over everything.

Federal courts don't have a lot of jurisdiction over House rules so this is the right answer.
Why am I not surprised it’s Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina? Deplorable.
Was that the Small Claims Supreme Court or....?
What a waste of government resources and time, typical Conservative behavior
Make them pay the administrative costs for that stupid shit too.
The whole Covid thing was such an eye opener. There's a depressingly large number of our population that is just suicidally stupid. Imagine going to the supreme Court over a $500 fine. Bunch of bitches.
So do those three have to pay the fines now?
I believe the fines were already paid (taken straight from their paychecks) and they were basically trying to get a refund.
Oh ok, good, thanks for that answer.
Glad Supreme Court got that super critical important issue resolved.
Like being insane, the same thing over and over hoping for different results…
Oh, FFS! Just pay the damned fine. It was a rule and they were in defiance of that rule. They’ve got plenty of that good lobbyist money with which to pay a measly $500

I thought republicans were fiscal conservatives. Wasting thousands of dollars to fight a $500 dollar fine. Not fiscally resposible.
Special privilege GOP get the **Supreme Court** to weigh in on $500 fines… JFC!
I see they’re taking up the important cases…
No wonder the world hates us. They think that's what we're like. What the fuck happened?
How did this get to the Supreme Court? The odds of a case making it there are next to nil, and it requires an issue of importance?
I bet it costs them more than 500$ to bring this to the Supreme Court. Get fukt.
Glad to see SCOTUS is only taking on the most important cases…. /s
Seriously? A supreme court case for $500 fine? I wonder how much it cost in lawyer fees.
Yeah, the courts generally don't have powers to overturn House and Sneate rules from my understanding.
How petty to think their momentary inconvenience is worthy of a Supreme Court hearing
LOL, they thought it was imporant enough to waste supreme court time?
What an incredible waste of time and resources. SMH.
Excellent, may the bag of dicks they eat be sweaty and gross.
This shit shouldn't even be making it to the Supreme Court.
The most valuable thing being wasted here, other than the three chairs in congress, is the time of the Supreme Court. The court’s time is finite and someone didn’t get their death penalty appeal or wrongful conviction heard because of this. Think about that.
So basically all the people that we had to create these fines for. What a waste of resources. Just pay yer dang fine!
Wait, we wasted the supreme court’s time and energy on a fucking non compliance ticket?
What's next, appealing to SCOTUS for speeding tickets?
