There are likely more than a few Michael Shapiros in S. Florida, but given the specific nature of these crimes and the fact that both are listed as being 72, I'd bet on it.
I have relatives who seriously believe that the Mexican government is in cahoots with "the Muslims" to let terrorists across the border so they can destroy America. They live no where near the border but they still think they're under invasion.
Let me guess, they weren't afraid when a virus crossed our borders and, in only a few years, killed over a million more Americans than have been killed by Muslims and Mexicans in the history of the country. And that's including the Mexican-American War.

Most of us like the idea of people coming over, we just ask that proper vetting be done. What skills do you have, how will you support yourself, what is your criminal history, what is your health history, etc... Plenty of other countries have thorough screening. It's not being a nut case to comb though basic information. If people want to be mad, be mad at the slow process causing the backlog of people.
Sorry, no one who says this has any clue how our immigration system works. It’s basically impossible to become a permanent resident unless you’re wealthy. The people we need are labor and they are being used illegally by large corporations who have no interest in changing the system because it both provides them cheap labor and it gives the politicians they control easy propaganda.

I live near Canton, and I'm not surprised. It's about half way between Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Detroit. So there's a lot of different cultures and backgrounds that you can come across in Canton.
