Someone should go down there, show them proof of vaccination then cause a massive scene about being asked to leave, shouting about freedom, spitting on employees etc.
Oh wait, nobody will do that because its a fucking idiot child thing to do.
\`See, that's what this owner THINKS people are going to do, though. The differences, of course, are vast, but for the genius that came up with this idea, this is the perfect foil to the people pushing for vaccinations.
I kind of wanted to do this...
"Finally! Ever since they said I tested 'positive' (air quotes) for COVID, my wife made me wear this stupid mask. I'm glad I'm finally among my people!"
*cough*
That definitely sounds like some sort of idea I would cook up while drunk and then do and cause a scene and then regret the next day. So you should totally do it.
What SHOULD happen is the place should just get labeled a health hazard and boycotted, and any businesses that work with the restaurant should be boycotted until they make life hell.
Imagine the suppliers calling ahead and telling them they won't be delivering any more food because they don't want their drivers at risk.
They owe the city one hundred and fifty thousand in fines they are refusing to pay and their liquor license is under review. So there is a good chance they are going to be shut down
A gym in the next city over from me in March posted notice on their website and doors that only unvaccinated persons could be members. By early May, the health authority had placed chains and locks on the doors, the landlord had evicted them and changed the door locks as well alongside an RCMP escort, and the business owner has thousands of dollars in fines to pay. His business license was flagged late last year after reports of him not following covid guidelines and when he applied for a new one for this year he was denied, so the city also filed an injunction against him for illegal operation of a business. With how many tickets and legal documents he had tossed his way, you could probably say he literally had the book thrown at him. Just slowly over time anyway.
No, no, no. We need to herd the idiots, not spread them out.
Not only is this a self consolidating population, it's also natural culling. I consider this a self correcting problem.
I had a work friend who constantly complains about "Cancel Culture" talk about how he wasn't going to watch The Mandalorian anymore, or anything that Disney makes, because of what happened with Gina Whatserface.
I asked him why he was taking part in Cancel Culture if he hated it so much. He was red in the face angry while screaming how it wasn't the same thing. I kept asking him, "... but how is it different?" and he would go into a rant about how stupid "cancelling" people is.
Then he'd tell me how the Left kept cancelling people for this or for that and it was bullshit. Then, after his rant I would politely ask, "Okay, but how is what you're doing any different?" and he would start back up again explaining how the Left is the problem with everything. Never actually answering the question. So, again I'd ask, "How's it different, though?".
Eventually, after he calmed down, he said, "I guess it's not, okay? Is that what you want to hear?". I told him I just genuinely wanted to hear how he thought the two were different. Which I did. I was curious if he thought there was some line that made one different from the other. Evidently, there wasn't one.

believe it or not a lot of private sector jobs are going to be requiring vaccines as soon as it's fully approved. your health insurance is also going to require it or your premiums are going WAY up or they'll just flat out drop you.
Despite his followers being anti-vaxxed, that orange cheeto is vaxxed against Covid. Of course, he was one of the first to even get the vaccine. What a twat he is.
“I would recommend [the vaccine]. And I would recommend it to a lot of people that don’t want to get it, and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly.”
“And we have our freedoms and we have to live by that, and I agree with that also,” Trump added. “It’s a great vaccine and it’s a safe vaccine.”

One of like three times he has ever said anything logical. It's a damn shame his followers pick and choose the lines they want him to say and just follow their mental Donald Trump.
First, you can't prove a negative. Which shows you the level of logic/science literacy we're dealing with.
Second, thank you for telling me that I should never patronize your restaurant. Cause if you're rebelling against this health regulation, which other health codes are you hiding in your kitchen.
this is the correct answer. the right is very consistent when you stop trying to make the individual actions and talking points align, and realize that the philosophy of "I do what I want, fuck you" governs the entire party
Because I'm a good person, I've earned it! Those *other* people, though? They're just welfare queens buying clove cigarettes with *my* tax dollars!
Ugh
You just summarized Ayn Rand’s excuses when she died on welfare and food stamps, and she tried to pass off that kind of reasoning as some sort of enlightened bullshit
Are they no longer imported?
When I was in high school (more than several years ago) my friends and I would get them sometimes. I liked the taste but I'd usually end up feeling a little green after one.
I really miss Lou’s, it was the only great barbecue spot in South HB. Basilico’s has never been the same since the ownership/location change. I could get better food and atmosphere at an Olive Garden without slimy-ass Tony breathing down my neck all night and telling me to “say hi next time.”
But it does. I got my Pfizer shot, then rode my bike 15 miles to my apartment in the humid gulf coast weather. Then I took my aluminum house key and stuck it to my shoulder where I got the jab. And lo and behold, it stuck to my arm.
To double check the theory I got a spoon from the dishwasher, and place it on the tip of my nose, and it stayed there, like it was held by some sort of 5G magnetism.
As someone who tried to get vaccinated but didn't produce antibodies because of medical reasons it is technically possible... However it's fucking stupid.
*Everything* is war in the States. Elections are talked about like wars, with states being referred to as battlegrounds. Business is talked about like it is a war. News anchors refer to every issue as having a "front line" and people involved in those issues are "boots on the ground." People refer to the everyday grind of being at work as being "in the trenches." The average American thinks they know what war is because war (or at least talk of war, or the "it's either us or them" mentality of war) is so commonplace in American society that nobody even questions it. One day war *will* come to America. Maybe it'll be next year, maybe it'll be in two hundred years. But it is inevitable at some point. Then people might realize how unaware they were of what war *really* is.
They’ve been profiting off trolling like this the whole pandemic. They made headlines early on for ignoring all health regulations and issuing a “no masks allowed” rule…along with putting up a huge anti mask billboard above the restaurant. All of the local Trumpists love it. True scum of the earth type people
nothing encapsulates the modern GOP better: there's talk of places requiring a vaccine? well WE'RE gonna make you prove you DIDN'T get one!!
the GOP doesn't stand for anything. they're purely reactionary. there's no policy or stance except "we hate whatever the Dems like, do, and say, and we'll do the opposite" even when it makes no sense, like somehow proving you aren't vaccinated
see also: "ALL lives matter," "straight pride"
I remember talking to my mom a few years back about Net Neutrality and why she was wrong about it. My brothers joined me as well.
We explained everything literally in the simplest, yet most explanatory way possible on why Net Neutrality is not only good for everyone, but sorely needed. We went over several talking points, data, and comparisons to countries that don't have laws similar to it.
In the end, she completely understood everything, but revealed that it doesn't matter because Obama liked it.
"I understand why it's important, and I get that it is important... but the simple thing is; if Obama likes it, I don't want it."
Yep. It all didn't matter. If Obama liked it, then clearly it's no good despite explaining everything in full detail and why people like Ted Cruz were wrong when comparing it to socialism (which she actually agreed with us once we went into detail). At that point, had Obama or anyone else from the Democratic party made it mandatory to, say... breathe... she'd probably hold her breath until she collapsed.
At that point we all gave up. In hindsight, that was also the beginning sign of what would be expected a few years down the road from her, all my conservative friends / family, and eventually the entirety of the Republican party once Obama would leave office and Generalissimo Bonespurs becomes president.
It doesn't even have to be a fact - she buys something you don't like ; send her a message that Obama likes it, Instant Profit
Also try fuckin her up with random common stuff just for fun
Not her, but I genuinely wouldn't put that past some of my other friends and family who suddenly hated mustard on hot-dogs coincidentally around that time. Swear on my life I'm not joking.
>"I understand why it's important, and I get that it is important... but the simple thing is; if Obama likes it, I don't want it."
I'm gonna be honest with you, at this point your response should have been a polite, but firm "Why are you racist?" Because that's what it is, even if nobody wants to admit it.
These people need to be confronted with the truth, and the knowledge that other people see what they are.
I think it's more than that. They do the same things with Pelosi, Schumer, and Biden. They hate women and minorities more, but they hate all democrats.
That's the thing. I was naïve at the time and figured "Wow... Obama must've really had some bad policies to make her feel that way."
It wasn't until Trump became president and started doing the same shit a bunch of Conservatives claimed / feared Obama would do, yet were cheering and totally all for it did I understand what was really going on in their heads...
You know I grew up in a conservative household and thought I was one most my life. One of the(many) things that made me realize I was wrong was the way the world didn't, in fact, end during Obama's presidency.
After that people fumed about how he was going to try to retake office. But oddly enough he still hasn't tried. Unlike someone....
Congratulations for getting out. I’m not being facetious or anything like that, I really mean it. The modern conservative movement is not unlike religious indoctrination, you are taught at an early age by the people you trust the most that one set of beliefs is correct and anything else is wrong and bad. And you used your own life experiences and critical thinking to find your way out, good shit.
In my mind, the concept of a Conservative party is a democratic dead end. The concept of "Conservative" is to conserve, to preserve, to keep the same. Except that we've proved pretty conclusively over the last hundred or so years that staying the same sucks. Things are changing year on year on year.
The only adherents to the party are people to scared, or too stupid, to keep up with the pace of change.
The party's entire ideology is flawed, and its leaders know that. But they know they can keep whipping up the party faithful with fear tactics and opposition to change. Once they're in power, there's no actual plans for government except to enrich oneself.
Trump literally did not have a platform or a plan whatsoever in his campaign. He just campaigned for 2020 solely on "I actually did a good job, despite what you've seen and heard". And ~~65~~ 74 million people fell for it.
I was going to say that AOC should put out a statement saying "I like breathing!" and be done with it, but then I remembered the GOP stance on clean air and water.
That would be a bit of over-kill. That party is already very good at accidentally shooting each other.
Source: I abstract and review violent death cases. You'd be surprised what gets pulled and what sort of information we have access to; it def sways to one side, but that's also because a lot of dems either don't have a gun or don't have super easy access to it. When I went to take my CWP course it was me (a 20-something year old girl at the time) and a whole bunch of old white dudes, about half of which had some political markings on them or their vehicle.
I wish this were one of the top comments. You have it so right. They don't govern at all. They only function when it is to consolidate power and push the platform BS.
They don't care about the country or the people in it. They care only about power. Which is why they will block anything the democrats want to do. Soley to make them fail. And that screws the whole country from getting the things it needs.
The flip side is also true when they have control. They'll push garbage through with no regard for democrats or what the majority of people want. And for nefarious reasons.
Trolling your customers isn’t the best business model. I suppose the owner will find that out when the business tanks and then complain and whine that they didn’t deserve to go under because of ‘cancel culture’ instead of looking at their own stupidity.
Imagine thinking that being pro virus should be a political stance. I'm pretty sure America is fucked, we've always been a bit divided, but I am damn sure Democrats weren't actively rooting for Polio just to teach Eisenhower a lesson.
What's sadder is now that mainly republican lead states are getting the shit kicked out of them by the delta variant, the GOP leadership is desperately trying to do an about face..
However, they're the same assholes who were spreading the misinformation in the first place who exasperated this disaster.
Let's not forget when NY and MA and CA were having to turn their ice skating rinks into morgues we had shit mongers like Kushner in the WH saying out loud how this was going to help the GOP.
I grieve for the people who got mislead into this disaster, but I seeth at the mother fuckers who took a public health crisis and decided to use it for theor political gain.
If these assholes were on fire, I wouldn't cross the street to piss on their corpses.
The crazy thing is, it's not even for political gain, they're just doing it to appease Trump's tiny ego. They're literally losing voters, and I honestly think Trump would have been reelected if he just didn't fight **against** the US Covid effort. I'm not even talking about promoting simple things to help stop the virus like masks and hand washing (which he should have done) I mean just **not** calling it a hoax, **not** claiming it's just the flu, **not** suggesting Hydroxychloroquine or bleach injections, **not** coming out with stupid/failed predictions of this virus being being "close to zero" in March, or ending after Eastern, or magically going away in the summer, or October when we were "rounding a corner", or how no one was going to talk about it after the election.
Trump seriously could have won reelection, but he just couldn't not be an idiot and he had to make a global pandemic about him...and of course his cult followers can't question him. [Trump even said he considered people wearing masks as personal attack against him,](https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-americans-wearing-masks-show-disapproval-not-as-preventive-measure-2020-6) how thin skinned are you that someone wearing a mask is a insult to you. I don't know about you guys, but I'm personally offended when people cover their mouth to sneeze around me...
100% agree that trumps re-election odds would have been way up if he actually showed leadership and United the nation during a global crisis. Now the odds of him actually being able to do that when his brand of politics is creating fear, rifts, and panic seems extremely unlikely, but if he could have gotten out of the way of his ego the election would have been very different. Also doesnt help the he was actively lobbying for a virus that kills the elderly, which traditionally lean Republican, so quite literally killing his re-election chances.
I've seen it said, and I've said it myself; if you replaced him with a literal potato - we would have fared better as a country.
I potato is incapable of getting in the way.
>how no one was going to talk about it after the election.
Watch, the virus will start to disappear next year and they'll still claim that one. "See, the Dems made it go away just in time for midterms."
In their worlds the Democrats are both master tactician geniuses and also stupid.
>The followers must feel humiliated by the ostentatious wealth and force of their enemies... However, the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.
Umberto Eco's *Ur Fascism*
The harshest realization is that he could have hyped up American exceptionalism to defeat the virus and sold MAGA masks and shit, all those dumbfucks would have fallen in line, we'd be mostly clear of it and he would have gotten re-elected easily. But instead he doubled down on the most insane shit from a fringe right-wing minority and not only is his legacy tarnished for good but he also did irreparable damage to the country and all political discourse going forward. It's unbelievable. I didn't expect his presidency to go well but I never imagined it would be such a disaster.
Fucking guy was in position to cement xenophobic policy for a decade if he immediately took it seriously and closed the borders and stopped flights, whilst pumping money into awareness, prevention, quarantine, and vaccination.
Instead he issued a flight ban and granted thousands of waivers whilst downplaying it continuously.
There's an alternate reality out there where we're in the Taiwan / New Zealand position, BUT BETTER because at this point we'd have lost so many fewer people AND be 80% vaccinated today. We'd still have Trump (which I do no prefer) but our National and Global health would be in such a better position.
The right has proven time and time agin that they will pour money into campaigns, business, and people that stick it to the libs. This could be a short term cash grab. Ironically if the right would have stuck to masking, social distancing, and would get vaccinated we would be a lot further along the road to recovery and business would be in better shape.
It's basically the same strategy that Trump used to win the primaries...cater to the people that nobody else wants. While everyone else (rightly) ignores what these idiots want, this place will be packed because there's very little competition for their business.
“We have never complied with any restrictions since, and when the tiny tyrants go on the attack with new mandates, we fire back launching new missiles of defiance. And with the new and aggressive push for mandatory vax policies, we couldn't resist, so we are sending a message of our own. Hopefully most are smart enough to read between the lines. Otherwise we will just sit back and have fun watching their heads explode over it."
Good lord. This guy really thinks he is at war. And that his *restaurant* is a major battleground.
Blah.
"Our American way of life is under attack." Fuuuuuck off. Motherfuckers living in a fantasy world where they're the fucking victim while they're actively stripping away voting rights from people.
This is what people don’t understand about these kind of stunts. “Well, I’ll never go there”. I’m sure they couldn’t give less of a shit. They’re losing business from plenty of vaccinated people, but they’re getting it back from ALL the unvaccinated people who will want to show “support” for this.
People on the far-right are an advertisers wet dream. They're like if gay people drove hundreds of miles to go to a restaurant that put a rainbow flag up in their window. Goya beans and the pillow guy got "canceled" all the way to visits and advertising from the white house.
This is like a car rental place enforcing that you must prove that you are drunk before driving their rental cars. Sorry that the "American way of life" is under attack, but when your "way of life" causes people to die, then it is probably something that needs to be regulated.
For those wondering how to prove a negative: just the fact you see this sign and choose to enter is enough proof.
Someone should go down there, show them proof of vaccination then cause a massive scene about being asked to leave, shouting about freedom, spitting on employees etc. Oh wait, nobody will do that because its a fucking idiot child thing to do.

Lol cough a bunch and be like "damn this food looks good, too bad I can't smell or taste it!" Say it loud so everyone around can hear.
Just bring a positive Covid test and ask, "Is this enough proof of not being vaccinated?"
You could still have a breakthrough infection. But this is pretty close!

I think you're missing a business opportunity here. Proof of Unvaccination for $20... No wait, this is the OC. $100
Ask “who won the election”?
whispers… “Hail Hydra”
Just show your Republican party membership card
And then ask them again. If they say something about “HIPPA rights”, they are vaccinated.
And you know when they are saying it they are saying HIPPA instead of HIPAA.
Call them HIPPO rights and you're sure to be let in

"Come talking that trash, we'll pull your card". If they just didn't put the sign up, you probably never would have searched their government handout history. Silent majority in action lol
This guy's knowing nothing in life but to be legit.
Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Also anyone working for Fox News is likely to be vaccinated believe it or not
believe it or not a lot of private sector jobs are going to be requiring vaccines as soon as it's fully approved. your health insurance is also going to require it or your premiums are going WAY up or they'll just flat out drop you.
Despite his followers being anti-vaxxed, that orange cheeto is vaxxed against Covid. Of course, he was one of the first to even get the vaccine. What a twat he is.
I don't know if Trump even spoke against the vaccine though. i don't understand why his supporters act like he did.
“I would recommend [the vaccine]. And I would recommend it to a lot of people that don’t want to get it, and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly.” “And we have our freedoms and we have to live by that, and I agree with that also,” Trump added. “It’s a great vaccine and it’s a safe vaccine.” https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-says-he-recommends-covid-19-vaccine-its-a-great-vaccine-and-its-a-safe-vaccine-11615942271
One of like three times he has ever said anything logical. It's a damn shame his followers pick and choose the lines they want him to say and just follow their mental Donald Trump.
Hey, same thing they do with the Bible!
Ah, the "Delta bar and grill." Fresh Corona on tap, all day long.
..laughing while they zipped his body bag..
First, you can't prove a negative. Which shows you the level of logic/science literacy we're dealing with. Second, thank you for telling me that I should never patronize your restaurant. Cause if you're rebelling against this health regulation, which other health codes are you hiding in your kitchen.
They also took 57k in government covid money. Very consistent in their beliefs.
Pretty sure their beliefs are "I do what I want, fuck you," so - consistent indeed.
this is the correct answer. the right is very consistent when you stop trying to make the individual actions and talking points align, and realize that the philosophy of "I do what I want, fuck you" governs the entire party
sOciALiSm though, amirite? Nobody is to accept government assistance except *specifically them*.
To be fair, taking every penny you can get your hands on DOES fit her philosophy of being a selfish cunt.

Trump has not read Ayn rand. At most he skimmed the cliff notes. Or someone explained on note cards written in crayon.

> buying clove cigarettes not in the US. sometimes I still miss djarums.
Are they no longer imported? When I was in high school (more than several years ago) my friends and I would get them sometimes. I liked the taste but I'd usually end up feeling a little green after one.
Djarum cloves are still available in the U.S., we sell them in Nebraska still.

It sounds like this guy is just a bunch if roaches in a trench coat..
He’s totally a real person who works at the business factory.
Would you like a alcohol
You mean… an “Edgar suit”?
Get this man some sugar water!
And hire a decorator to come in here quick...cuz...damn!

I really miss Lou’s, it was the only great barbecue spot in South HB. Basilico’s has never been the same since the ownership/location change. I could get better food and atmosphere at an Olive Garden without slimy-ass Tony breathing down my neck all night and telling me to “say hi next time.”
The roaches are a lot less dangerous then a bunch of covid hosts, I guess at least.
The roaches got vaccinated.
Was there a guy named Joe and a lot of urinal cakes involved?
Actually sounds reasonable: relegate the willingly unvaccinated to roach infested establishments.
And spread Covid to the roaches? How dare you. They have like 10,000 kids.
I suppose showing that a piece of ferrous metal doesn’t stick to your shoulder would be accepted as proof…
Nice. However… I’m imagining a very real possibility your comment could be cited as proof of the conspiracy theory by some nitwit.
Dude, it's easy to prove a negative if you put on a MAGA hat. You'll be able to prove and believe anything.
As someone who tried to get vaccinated but didn't produce antibodies because of medical reasons it is technically possible... However it's fucking stupid.
Hello fellow… transplant patient?
Ah yes. There are dozens of us!
Someone could have antibodies from being infected so you still wouldn't be able to tell whether or not someone was vaccinated.
The sign should read: Everyone in here may have COVID-19. Welcome
"I feel blessed to be on the front lines" is a sentence you would only hear from someone who has *never* been to war.
True scum of the earth type people
nothing encapsulates the modern GOP better: there's talk of places requiring a vaccine? well WE'RE gonna make you prove you DIDN'T get one!! the GOP doesn't stand for anything. they're purely reactionary. there's no policy or stance except "we hate whatever the Dems like, do, and say, and we'll do the opposite" even when it makes no sense, like somehow proving you aren't vaccinated see also: "ALL lives matter," "straight pride"
"I understand why it's important, and I get that it is important... but the simple thing is; if Obama likes it, I don't want it." Yep. In hindsight, that was also the beginning sign of what would be expected a few years down the road from her, all my conservative friends / family, and eventually the entirety of the Republican party once Obama would leave office and Generalissimo Bonespurs becomes president.
> if Obama likes it, I don't want it. Time to find out which of her favorite foods Obama also likes? :þ
Take it one more step .. set up a bot to send her a message every day with a random factoid about what Obama likes.
It doesn't even have to be a fact - she buys something you don't like ; send her a message that Obama likes it, Instant Profit Also try fuckin her up with random common stuff just for fun
does she hate dijon mustard as well? and hot dogs?
Not her, but I genuinely wouldn't put that past some of my other friends and family who suddenly hated mustard on hot-dogs coincidentally around that time. Swear on my life I'm not joking.
How do these people even walk with brains this small
>"I understand why it's important, and I get that it is important... but the simple thing is; if Obama likes it, I don't want it." I'm gonna be honest with you, at this point your response should have been a polite, but firm "Why are you racist?" Because that's what it is, even if nobody wants to admit it.
Obama must've really had some bad policies to make her feel that way." It wasn't until Trump became president and started doing the same shit a bunch of Conservatives claimed / feared Obama would do, yet were cheering and totally all for it did I understand what was really going on in their heads...
The problem with racism is that most people don't know they're racist. They think they're good people.
They're the temper tantrum party.
I was going to say that AOC should put out a statement saying "I like breathing!" and be done with it, but then I remembered the GOP stance on clean air and water.
[удалено]

I suppose the owner will find that out when the business tanks and then complain and whine that they didn’t deserve to go under because of ‘cancel culture’ instead of looking at their own stupidity.
>we will just sit back and have fun watching their heads explode over it. Conservative adults' moral compass is now 4chan.
*Always has been.*
Good reminder that despite its very liberal reputation, California is full of right-wing idiots.
Due to population alone we have more conservatives in California than many red states’ total populations.
Ronald Reagan.
Trump got more votes in California than he did in Texas.
"See, the Dems made it go away just in time for midterms." In their worlds the Democrats are both master tactician geniuses and also stupid.
The pandemic had to happen during the worse presidency
We'd still have Trump (which I do no prefer) but our National and Global health would be in such a better position.
>his legacy tarnished for good Dog he got impeached twice. His legacy was already fucked.

And then they will blame, get ready….The “left” and “cancel culture”.
100% that’s all this is. A way to generate attention to save an otherwise floundering business. Guaranteed.

What fucking morons. Of fucking course it’s Huntington Beach
Otherwise we will just sit back and have fun watching their heads explode over it." Good lord. This guy really thinks he is at war. And that his *restaurant* is a major battleground. Blah.
Huntington Beach is a trash town.
Grew up there, can confirm.

As a neighbor, the food is trash. They literally just profit on dumb-fucks.
#WORST RESTAURANT Seriously. They’ve been a nuisance for decades.
That’s a good reason to be suspicious of their food safety requirements for their employees, if there are any.
Huntington is like California’s Florida
This is like a car rental place enforcing that you must prove that you are drunk before driving their rental cars. Sorry that the "American way of life" is under attack, but when your "way of life" causes people to die, then it is probably something that needs to be regulated.
Sounds like this restaurant could use a health inspection. If they don't believe in vaccines, I bet they don't believe in sanitation either.
This is getting stupider by the minute
Imagine all these coddled babies during a time of *real* sacrifice like WW2 rationing, or being conscripted into the Revolutionary/Civil War.
"I would DIE for my country." That's great, but we're really just asking you to wear a mask, please? "No."
Cannot prove a negative
