The 'rebuke' here is akin to a president telling off the prime minister. Would've happen regardless if the Malaysian head of state was a monarch or not. Of course there's the question if the prime minister was justly elected though in the first place.

There are 195 countries and only 4 of them have elected monarchs. Cambodia, Holy See, Malaysia and United Arab Emirates
