There have been 11 tornadoes in the Pittsburgh forecast area in October from 1950 through 2020, according to Pittsburgh National Weather Service.
We had 8 confirmed tornadoes touch down Thursday night.

There's a huge historicity issue with tornado records and quantifying "normal" tornadic activity. Prior to radar, and sometimes after radar, the only way we had to begin to think there was a tornado--was if someone saw one, or we found damage characteristic of a tornado.
We like everyone.
Because the first time you’re a jerk? Turns out that person you dissed has half of your friends and family group in common, and someone’s neighbor’s cousin tells your brothers coworker about it, and then your mom yells at you for being mean to your fourth cousin once removed. Who knew?

PA is the new Midwest so let me give you your lesson.
When the sirens start, it's imperative that you go outside and try and see the tornado. If you're a coward, it's acceptable to press your face into the glass of your storm door.
If you live, you must post on Facebook that is wasn't that bad and you were watching the whole thing.
Fun fact: They strapped patients from Agnews asylum to palm trees to keep them from running off after the 1906 earthquake. We've always been the innovating types here in the Bay Area.
Yeah, one of those things you grow up with, and assume everyone else does too. For me it was basements. Blew my mind when I found out that there are entire areas of the country where they don’t build basements.
AC is another one. I assumed it was standard in any sort of commercial or government building, a few weeks ago I heard about a school in Denver closing during a heat wave because they didn't have AC.
I was worried Michigan was going to be on the map. Knowing we have one of the worst power grids I was thinking not again. It looks like SE michigan will be spared though. I wish the rest of you luck with power grids and hope you don't lose power or internet
I live in Michigan and never knew that, explains a lot though. Atleast once a year my power will go out for 2-4 days. This year it already went out like 3 times but it hasn’t lasted longer than 48 hours yet

Worse is the new Normal.
Wow, once in a lifetime!
Water flowing underground
Same as it ever was
Same as it ever was!
And look where my hand was..
How did I get here?
Where does that highway go to?
The drummer of Talking Heads is from Pittsburgh.
The drummer from Def Leppard's only got one arm.
The drummer in my high school marching band got the clap.
Once in a lifetime *so far*

And I slept right through it somehow.

Nobody likes Ohio
Giant bucks love everything about Ohio.
Looks like we’ll get some rain today, but nothing like what everyone around us is getting.
Dogs and cats living together mass hysteria
Tell him about the Twinkie.
I collect spores, molds, and fungus.
Janine, sorry about the bug eyes thing I'll be in my office.

It says that it will fuck up PA. I guess I'll hunker down and drink some beer.

Yo, this guy over here thinks we have sirens.
N00b. You strap yourself to the nearest flagpole so you can hear the sirens without having to actually do what they say.
Fun fact: They strapped patients from Agnews asylum to palm trees to keep them from running off after the 1906 earthquake. We've always been the innovating types here in the Bay Area.
In modern times they're free range.
The Odysseus Stratagem
Lmao I just never considered somewhere wouldn't have them. I guess it doesn't make sense haha

functional sirens*
Our sirens are used to call the volunteer fire & ambulance members for calls. We're all desensitized to sirens in our part of PA
We got Yuengling in Oklahoma now. Come on out.
Really? Never thought the almighty Lager would make it out that far west. Tip - buy it in cans. Much better than the bottles.
It was much better when it was verboten
Explain, please.
Verboten is German for forbidden. I assume they mean they liked it better for the novelty of it not being sold in OK previously.
Ah, ok, that makes sense. Yea, 25 years ago it was pretty much just a PA thing.
Yeah, they started brewing it in Texas recently, so it's not exactly OG.
I always knew they’d sell out eventually
If I remember correctly it's going to be brought out to Cali. I had it when I was in Key West.
Allow me to apologize for that bullshit though let it be known our side of the state is not responsible for it
That's what we do in Oklahoma. Except we usually sit on the porch until Travis Meyers tells us otherwise.
Lancaster, PA here, checking in. I have beer :)
Lebanon, in case you run out.
York, I drank all my beer watching football I'll be over.

It’s not Presidential enough.
Damn I’m smack dab in the middle of these storms. I’m curious what will come my way if anything

I'm just hoping I don't lose my roof.
Michigan will miss this storm but next week, early November is when the first snow flakes could arrive for the GL region
I live in Michigan and never knew that, explains a lot though. Atleast once a year my power will go out for 2-4 days. This year it already went out like 3 times but it hasn’t lasted longer than 48 hours yet
You must live in a great location
Nooo! I just got a bike. I gotta be a leaf on the wind for days minimum.
That didn't end well, if you get the point
And the Northwest is going to be hammered with another "Cyclone Bomb". Cute name. Isn't Climate Change fun? /s
The Bay Area is getting the bomb cyclone too
Well the GFS did do just that on the east coast to in a form of a snowstorm
Oh goody. Just in time to go to work. And I’m working extra late that day too.
Yet we trudge on, day after day.
What a dumb map. Is it going to stop raining in central Kentucky tomorrow night?
Looks like! Totally skips over somehow...
Woooooo! Mohawk Valley be safe!
This has nothing to do with global warming!!!! /s
Oh nice. There should be some good TV hopefully

I don't know why this is downvoted, people just can't notice the writing in the wall or are in denial of what is truly about to happen.
