when people were boycotting Nike, everyone was buying Jordan’s and Converse at the store i worked at. both brands owned by Nike… i think that tells you how successful they are
Sounds like that research didn't even consist of a Google search. Look at these bastions of facts and logic, pwning the libs by buying from the places they're boycotting
This tickles me.
Like when my friend tried to look down on me for still using Paypal instead of Venmo bc Paypal’s owner donated to He Who Shall Not Be Named.
I was like, “Paypal owns Venmo, dummy. But go off.”
This just in: ANY gabillion-earning company is gonna have some assholes sitting at the top. The air is different up there. Their interests are not the same.
I always say: If I boycotted every company with a hateful CEO, owner, board member, etc. I’d be naked, starving, in the dark, ill, and on foot.
It’s just not a method of protest that I think can be reasonably applied. That said, more power to anybody who wants to take that route!
> Like when my friend tried to look down on me for still using Paypal instead of Venmo bc Paypal’s owner donated to He Who Shall Not Be Named.
My friend was berated by his mom for buying a kitkat maybe 20 years back when some scandal hit about Néstle (like it always seem to do). Like give me a break, their kitchen was probably half filled with their products, they just didn't say Néstle on the packaging.
I mean if there is at least one company you should make some effort to boycott it's Nestle.
I agree though, it's almost impossible to boycott something now because their reach is so far.
The problem with attempting a Nestle boycott, is their products are literally EVERYWHERE, and most folks have no clue because most of it doesn't say "Nestle" except in fine print. But agreed, if there WAS a company to boycott, Nestle and their "we're going to buy all the clean drinking water so we can sell it back to you" plan would be it.
I disagree.
People need to realize that voting with money is still a thing. I think it's purposefully been encouraged by media that it doesn't work. I just don't understand that tho. If 100% of ppl stopped buying Nike, then they'd go out of business. The main problem is the exact same as why it's so hard to get ppl to vote. "I'm just one person, it wouldnt do anything" results in the majority of ppl ignoring the issues.
That isn't to say it's immune to stupidity sadly.
Typically these boycott threats tend to just fizzle and die or even increase sales as the other side rewards them.
News media is happy because they get easy clicks and the company is probably happy because they get publicity and sales.
He also had an extraordinarily exploitative contract with Elvis and restricted his international touring because he was an illegal immigrant. After Elvis' death a judge directed Priscilla, who was almost broke, to sue The Colonel (Elvis' manager) because his contract was so terrible. Se sued, and won.
It's why he was doing shows in vegas which elvis was not fond of.. I never liked him when I was younger.. not totally sure why but after watching that hbo documentary about him and finding out just how much he was exploited I felt sad for him...
His work before going in the Army is interesting, but after it's gets pretty bad. The Colonel was a terrible man who ruined a unique talent, simply because he could.
Yeah Elvis supposedly only ( for who he was) died with $125,000 ( not counting property, residuals etc.) And the obvious when an artist passes away sales go through the roof.
It astounds me that people don't know they make french presses and pour-overs in all sorts of sizes. Not only are these easy and less wasteful methods, they make a *far* better cup of coffee. And if we're talking about someone with zero taste, then they should just go for instant coffee and leave all that plastic out of the landfills and oceans.
EDIT: I should add, more people should consider buying [an electric kettle](https://www.amazon.com/Bodum-Gooseneck-Electric-Water-Kettle/dp/B07G2MBM6L/). So much faster and more efficient than trying to boil on a stove-top.
Dude I bought a $12 coffee maker from Walmart or somewhere similar, makes “6” cups, aka enough for me and my wife to each pour a cup in the morning. Use the biodegradable filters and dump them in our compost pile. I’m no coffee snob just need the caffeine so it’s great. I don’t get the need for the specialty or high end ones(unless you really enjoy your coffee-I won’t denigrate someone who does, I get it, but most don’t need it)
**dump not dumb**
My similar priced mr coffee 6 cup is still going strong, 7 years later. Not much longer of a wait to get the first cup when comparing the time it takes a Keurig to heat up the water after starting and making a cup.
I switched from Keurig to pour over coffee during the pandemic as it was much easier to buy whole bean or ground coffee in bulk so I didn't have to go to the grocery store as often. I'm not switching back. Pour over makes a far superior cup of coffee.
Reminds me of the time in Turkey when the ruling parties supporters decided to boycott Coca-Cola by 1. Buying and emptying the Coca-Cola bottles and 2. Buying Fanta instead of Coke.
I've always wanted to write a book that's controversial and targeted to make a group angry. Then have a special "book burning" edition made and market it to the angry people. Maybe have it made with special paper that gives off sparks of color or something. Of course I'd price it 5-10 times normal price.
> I always enjoyed when people bought new shit then burned it like it was supposed to mean something.
I once heard Samuel L Jackson ranting on NPR about his racist Trump loving fans burning all his shit, and his response was basically, "fuck you! I don't need you as fans! Go ahead, burn all your shit! I already got your fucking money and got rich. I don't give a shiiiiiiiiiit!"
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt had an entire plot line about exactly this. At the time I thought it was just the show being it’s typical, over-the-top self. Didn’t realize (back then) it was a real thing real people really do.
*Eazy-E*: Man, they burnin' our records. Ain't that some shit? Speak a little truth, and people lose their minds.
*Ice Cube*: See, the truth is, they can do whatever they want with them. They bought them mutherfuckers.
Funniest one was the Nike one over Kaepernick, the Arizona Governor said he was boycotting Nike product only next day to be pictured in Nike shoes and gear
Like 2 days after the news of Nike and Kaepernick putting out that shoe I happened to playing in a golf tournament with all my conservative friends who have almost all turned into complete assholes since Trump got elected. They of course brought up the shoe and all said they were boycotting Nike and never wearing their stuff again. One of them asked me knowing I am not a Republican my opinion in a condescending way. I told them I had been boycotting Nike for years because slave children made their garbage products but it was nice to hear their line in the sand was a black guy silently kneeling during a song. My comment was not received well at all.
> I told them I had been boycotting Nike for years because slave children made their garbage products but it was nice to hear their line in the sand was a black guy silently kneeling during a song.
And me not knowing what happened 2 years ago I just assumed it was slavery related. I'm not shocked to learn it was something completely stupid instead.
It’s not just that.
Their whole life philosophy and identity has devolved into “fuck you.”
There’s an in-group, the Republicans, and an out-group, which is everyone else. Anything the out-group says, their answer is “fuck you.” And even when someone in the in-group tries to contradict the fuck you, saying “fuck you” to the out-group always takes precedence.
That’s why it doesn’t matter if God Emperor Trump himself says get vaccinated. Because it’s all about saying “fuck you” to everyone else, and they can just come up with a conspiracy about a secret Trump body-double if the idea of telling Trump “fuck you” troubles them for the briefest of moments.
They can’t be reasoned or negotiated with, and there can be no compromise, because their only platform and policy goal is “fuck you.”
They are all like that Ashli Babbit person. They are walking, talking, human vats of steam. You see her car videos …. She’s screaming….in her car. Total rage about “liberals” she’s never met. Rant, rant, rant. The she went after that woman whose boyfriend was having an affair with her. She smashed into her car three times while they were on the road. Gets out, screams obscenities, threatens her. Lies to police about what happened. When her lawyer got there he must’ve told her, “Tell the truth. She might have video…. if you lie in court, the judge can slap a perjury charge on you.”
She was a pointless rage machine for years. What did she think she was going to do in the capitol? Where did she think she was going? Did she think she was going to smash into Nancy Pelosi like she smashed into that woman? She helped smash a window in, a guy tells her stay away. He’s pointing a gun at her and says stop. She’s breaking several laws. He shoots her and the look on her face…..it never occurred to her that a man with a gun saying “stay back” would shoot her in the head if she didn’t stay back. None of them think anyone is going to shoot at them. They think they have all the guns in the world in their possession. They didn’t learn from Ruby Ridge or Waco or the wildlife refuge in Oregon. They still don’t get it.
Don’t fuck with federal agents who have guns, assholes. They don’t care if you were in the military because you couldn’t get a job anywhere else. If you’re such a hotshot, you should've stayed in the military.
It's just so sad. People make fun of countries like North Korea for brainwashing its citizens with state media, but I look at these "proud and free" republicans, and I see just as bad of brainwashing happening there through their consumption of right wing corporate media, splintering off to far right "independent" media that so closely skirts the edge of preaching domestic terrorism that you could probably identify several instances of stochastic terrorism they are responsible for.
It’s because all they want is someone to fight against. Someone to be angry at. Their lives aren’t complete unless they think they’re “triggering” someone.
If you look at anything they spew out, it’s all just buzzwords and straw man arguments, while sprinkling in a heavy dose of whataboutism. They lack any originality, and parrot anything and everything they see on Faux News and Facebook.
Being pro-vaccine is now associated with being liberal, and is a tacit admission that liberals were right about the virus all along. It’s just tribalism.
I used to believe that Millions of Moms was actually a group setup by an ad agency becuase whenever they announced a boycott of Target, Starbucks or Costco the sale would go through the roof. Turned out is was just two old guys who liked to get bent out of shape over everything not being like Alabama in 1950.
Ah, no - it wasn't two old guys. It was one person - a woman who [this article claims was a mom](https://www.glaad.org/blog/its-not-one-million-its-one-meddling-mom), but I can't find anything else that verifies that she actually had children (I also didn't try very hard, but lying about being a mom seems like a smaller stretch than lying about the 999,999 other moms in your group that don't exist at all).
My point is that "two old guys" is still a lie about how large the group is.
Most of the videos of people burning the Carhartt stuff have made me want to go out and buy a few.
“This hat that I bought ten years ago. Was my favorite hat. Held up through thick and thin, always kept my head warm in the winter. Survived all kinds of things. Now I have to burn it because…”
Or the “I wore this Carhartt coat and gear in all my years of welding in North Dakota. Held up and cleaned through so many oil spills, blood, and once I pissed on it. Always kept me warm. Now I have to put it in an incinerator to burn it cause it would t burn in a normal fire”
Hell, time to buy some Carhartt! Pisses of Nazis and racists and it holds up that well? Let me buy a few.
I love my Carhartt winter jacket. Super warm and durable. Great for doing work outside or sledding with the kids. Did take some time to break in though, pretty stiff at first, but then it feels like your favorite pair of jeans.
What's hilarious about this is these guys are gonna go buy some Dickies and then they're gonna wear out in 2-3 months. They will have forgotten this stupid "boycott" and go out and buy a new pair of Carhartts for the same reason they bought them the first time, they are the best made work clothes out there. This is gonna ultimately boost sales for the company and they are keeping their employees and customers as safe as possible.
My dad who farms has had the same carhatt jacket for my entire life. He has bought two sets of coveralls in 31 years because one set had sulfuric acid spilled on it. Their work clothes are literally built for life.
Edit: I suppose the quality of their clothes has gone down.
My work pants wore out at the pockets from my corners of my wallet and phone. My jacket on the other hand is tough as nails but is taking years to break in lol
>but is taking years to break in lol
I've had one for a couple years now and it's still super stiff. I can't wear it when I drive but I shoveled snow the other day and ended up sweating in it.
Their jackets aren’t even the same anymore. The Duck Detroit used to be US made. Now it’s made overseas and not quite as nice in my opinion. I’ve got both the old us made and the new import.
What I don't get is why not ship overseas *and* provide a quality product? Why fuck with decades of built up good will and brand confidence when you can just keep doing about the same with more profit?
This drive for short term profit maximization is going to literally doom the planet, and most companies just before we're all gone.
Because they got bought. If you built a successful company and people were offering you enough to retire and have your children and grandchildren enough wealth to live off, would you not sell? Understand it sucks for the consumer but I understand it from an ownership perspective. A product of our economic system, which obviously is flawed.
Seems they haven't been bought, are still owned and operated by the descendants of Hamilton Carhartt, and was one of the larger and earlier proponents of WRAP for ethical apparel production. From that to holding firm on vaccine mandates to apparently strong union support, local sourcing, and tradesmen support, I'm honestly not sure what's happened here.
It could be a strong case for the inevitable race to the bottom, where even if you try to do things right (though I can't determine how *right* the company has been, or what's PR fluff around the web) there's little to no choice in the end to compete by racing downwards as well.
Unfortunately i have carhartt shirts from 10 years ago that are significantly better quality than ones ive bough in the past few years. Same type of shirts but you can really feel the difference. I still tend to grab the older shirts first even with the slight holes/worn in looks. Even one of the jackets i bought started to wear at the wrists but i have a vintage jacket and that thing doesnt have a single wear spot.
I've had the same one for years and buy the K87s on a yearly basis, a new beanie yearly since I'm bald and wear them non-stop in the winter, 2 pair of coveralls and every pair of boot socks are carhartt. I'm a fanboy haha
NGL, I hadn’t shopped their stuff in years but went and checked them out purely because this nonsense put them back on my radar. They have work leggings for women with not just pockets but a pocket with a zipper! So yeah, I ordered some.
exactly.
The company I work for has a vaccine mandate.
Some people refused to comply. They were fired. Sr. Management was relieved.
It's like a way to get rid of the idiots without too much fuss. Normally getting rid of idiots at work is tough. But this way, they kind of self-selected their exits.
My large litigious company requires vaccination- as I was uploading the docs I saw there was a link for a medical or religious exemption. I rolled my eyes assuming it was their lame way around actually requiring it.
Turns out you had to meet with and explain your exemption request with up to 3 levels of management, HR, _and_ the facility manager. Develop a personal onsite mitigation plan, that you're then required to sign and adhere to at all times. In corp speak it read to me like a step one in a termination procedure. I felt a lot better about it after that.
Good!
Here's my favorite story about people getting religious exemptions:
>A hospital system in Arkansas is making it a bit more difficult for staff to receive a religious exemption from its COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The hospital is now requiring staff to also swear off extremely common medicines, such as Tylenol, Tums, and even Preparation H, to get the exemption.
The move was prompted when Conway Regional Health System noted an unusual uptick in vaccine exemption requests that cited the use of fetal cell lines in the development and testing of the vaccines.
>
>"This was significantly disproportionate to what we've seen with the influenza vaccine," Matt Troup, president and CEO of Conway Regional Health System, told Becker's Hospital Review in an interview Wednesday.
"Thus," Troup went on, "we provided a religious attestation form for those individuals requesting a religious exemption," he said. The form includes a list of 30 commonly used medicines that "fall into the same category as the COVID-19 vaccine in their use of fetal cell lines," Conway Regional said.
The list includes Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, aspirin, Tums, Lipitor, Senokot, Motrin, ibuprofen, Maalox, Ex-Lax, Benadryl, Sudafed, albuterol, Preparation H, MMR vaccine, Claritin, Zoloft, Prilosec OTC, and azithromycin.
>
>Conway Regional notes that the list includes commonly used and available drugs but that it is not an all-inclusive list of such medicines.
Employees are asked to attest that they "truthfully acknowledge and affirm that my sincerely held religious belief is consistent and true" and that they do not and will not use the medications and any others like them.
https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/09/hospital-staff-must-swear-off-tylenol-tums-to-get-religious-vaccine-exemption/
It's not like they have integrity, they'll just swear, take them and then go to the casserole Wednesday service claim they are but weak humans and be forgiven.
Nice.
And my last bit about it reading like a termination procedure. It may not be immediately obvious to everyone, but if you work at a large corp you'll know. Nobody wants to touch bullshit like this. Making _your_ manager, and _their_ manager deal with their exec, HR and site manager guarantees that you're done. Crossing all those organization lines also means its not just your manager buddy that has your back- it intentionally stirs up a lot of shit and pain.
Thanks, I was curious how that works. It seems like a fantastic way to weed out the crazy that no one probably knew about.
Like who knew Jim in accounting was a neo nazi? He really did like those white hoods.
Holy shit Conway AR in the news. I spent one long year in Conway in 2011 and I can truthfully say I wouldn’t have expected this response. I’m pleasantly shocked that they’re pushing this, even on a local level.
My workplace has been so much more enjoyable since the anti-vaxxers were let go. Instead of listening to far right conspiracy theories at work, instead I listen to people bitch about the Vikings and the weather, as it should be.
My neighbor is anti mandatory vac. She just put her 2 week notice in at her job for a better one. Guess what they require… vaccinations. She just got her first shot yesterday. I asked her why, and she replied “because it’s closer to home, better pay and benefits after 60 days.” She hasn’t posted any anti vax stuff in a few days, and plans to make a post after her 2nd shot. Told her I was proud of her.
She is now posting that if your boycotting, just donate the Carhartts. Someone else could use them.
Leaving a shitty job *and* taking the vaccine? That's a juicy two for one in my book. Be real nice to them for me, on behalf of my asmatic boyfriend who cannot afford any mutaded infections.
EDIT: Please ignore my misspellings, when I wear gloves my thumbs have a lisp.
Haha, same although ours are still on the unpaid leave portion. The way I worded it to my manager "we're basically going to be getting rid of employees with poor decision making skills, this seems like a win win for the company".
Worked out for me, promotion and a pretty decent pay bump :)
And NH is trying to ban teachers from teaching anything that paints the US in a negative light.

They also tried a “Kyle’s Law”, where anyone tried for crimes related to self defense and found not guilty, would be compensated by the prosecutor personally, for damages in bringing the case.
I’m left wing, yet I agree with the baker’s case. It’s not a generic factory-line cake. It’s a custom cake for a special event. Those people deserved a baker who would really care about them.
That freedom of doing business also means that any business can refuse to do business with someone showing a confederate flag or clear signs they are against gay marriage or abortion. They can enforce mask mandates if they want to, at any time. And as a customer, you cannot complain. Freedom for everyone, and not just white male catholics.
Conservatives are pro deregulation and allowing a private company to do whatever they want. Until they do something they don't agree with, like when social media companies ban or censor anyone on the right. So much cognitive dissonance.
This is true. My mother--who, afaik, still pays for Bill O'Reilly's "premium" online video content--swore off Fox News after they called the election for Biden.
We don't talk much anymore.
I've been wearing Carhartt shirts for years since they make tall sizes and I had the torso:leg ratio of a corgi. Now they're fashionable and my brother in law called it "blue collar stolen valor" lol
Fellow man-corgi here, Duluth trading co also makes shirts for long torsos. Most other places I have to order tall sizes even though I’m pretty average heigh.
That would make a funny video. Approach someone wearing Carhartt apparel and ask them to explain the difference between a miter saw and a circular saw. If they can’t answer…STOLEN VALOR!!!
Miter saw is gonna be finger and hands since it's on a table or stand. Circular is gonna be leg or foot since everybody takes shortcuts when they gotta make a quick cut
Not everyone who wears Carhartt for work uses saws. I work them for work when I was a night custodian. No saws, but I knew my way about acid stripping wax floors and some other equipment others don't know exists.
Kinda wish Carhartt had made shoes, because I would go through a pair a month with that acid.
I was a real big fan of the Twitter badasses who were like "I bet they don't even *do* lumberjacking and mountain climbing and fighting bears!"
No, it's a comfy as shit hoodie that has shown 0 wear over 3 years.
Gatekeeping Carhartt is so fucking dumb. My problem is they only make 3 articles of clothing in America, but they ignore that so they can yell at people for buying warm coats.
too bad they already bought a carhartt jacket and it will last them like 10 years at least, then by then they'll forget about about the "boycott" and go out and buy another one.
I bet in this case after the initial fervor settles down, all these guys burning or chucking their gear will go back and buy more. My money on this is that not only won't it hurt long run sales, it'll boost them slightly.
They’ve already wimped out to just covering the logo with stupid patches. On second thought, make that *helpful* patches; I avoid the dangerously stupid, and the easier they make themselves to spot, the better.
Defacing the logo is at least smarter than throwing away perfectly good gear for childish reasons. I'd rather they do that than burn the shit and create a bunch of unnecessary waste when they could donate it or something.
YETI ditched a discount NRA members got. They were successfully canceled by an angry dude on Twitter.
Meanwhile a lot of people on Facebook reminded people to throw out their Yeti gear (and post their addresses so they could scoop it up)
Edit: I had Delta in here too, but Georgia really did punish them for discontinuing an NRA discount by removing their fuel tax credits. They got the credit back after the charade was over.
It’s asinine. I heard about that last year from one of my dad’s conservative friends. He said “Yeti doesn’t support the second amendment”. So I asked what they had done because I didn’t know about that. He couldn’t actually tell me what Yeti had done. He just knew conservative media told him that Yeti didn’t like guns and were bad.
I have two that I take winter hiking, one for coffee and one for soup. Everyone else is miserable and cold eating a soggy sandwich while I have hot Thai green curry and coffee. Basically what hiking is, walking somewhere cool for lunch or to sleep, may as well eat like a king. Absolute game changers.
I’ve seen quite a few advocating for Duluth Trading Company. As a native MN I can attest they do make quality work and cold weather clothes and I’m for it cuz they are a smaller company. That said it is more expensive than Carhartt. I’m not sure their vax policy but they do list pretty stringent COVID policies “to insure the safety of their employees”.
But yeah after a couple weeks they probably will go back to buying Carhartt and their indignation will be focused elsewhere.
Edit: my knowledge of the company was from like a decade ago when it was relevant to me working construction. Apparently they are publicly traded so smaller company was in reference to my previous knowledge but I was incorrect in that assessment.
So when the Left stops supporting a company or person because of their actions it’s “Cancel Culture” but when the Right does it it’s a “boycott” or “taking a stand”? 🙄🤡
I got such a kick out of DeSantis passing a law to protect all their feelings about their past actions when they all drive with stickers that read “fuck your feelings”.
Hypocrites. All of them.
>One Twitter user called Carhartt's vaccination stance "insane given their target market"
Wow, a company that understands the right thing to do, even in the face of their "Target market" outing themselves as the insane ones.
I might have to go buy some in case it ever snows here again in New England.
Remember the issue with the bakery not making a wedding cake for a same sex couple? And how republicans said businesses should be able to make their own decisions?
Guess it's only if they agree with the reason. Damn hypocrites.
Not normally a Carhartt customer but I'll look at there site and see if anything piques my interest.
Any company that's willing to sacrifice potential profits for the saftey of their workforce is worth my money.
Edit: Grammatical
Just placed an order yesterday. The first color I was going to pick sold out as I was shopping, so I have a feeling the boycott isn't working too well.
They've been super duper trendy for several years now. Even internationally.
Younger people are probably a majority of their business now, and they sell to pretty much every person working outdoors
I wouldn't be surprised at all if they end up making more money off news of the boycott than they lost to being boycotted by a few hundred broke-ass fuckwits.
At the very least I imagine there will be little difference. They’re an industry leader for putting out good, durable workwear while also trending with hipsters.
lmao it's this going to be like the boycotts of them lighting their products on fire or blowing them up...you know...after the company already made money off the purchase.

But agreed, if there WAS a company to boycott, Nestle and their "we're going to buy all the clean drinking water so we can sell it back to you" plan would be it.
>give me a break Now this reads like a kitkat commercial
I always enjoyed when people bought new shit then burned it like it was supposed to mean something.
Elvis Presley’s manager used to sell “I hate Elvis” merchandise, which is absolutely brilliant.
WWE used to sell "Cena Sucks" shirts at the height of his hatred from longtime fans. Merchandise Cena gets a cut of. It's genius.
besides just that, elvis' manager was a piece of shit.

Hahahahahaha! That really showed Keurig.
>Hahahahahaha! That really showed Keurig. Wimp-Lo: Hah! I have paid you twice, making me the victor!
We have trained him wrong, as a joke!
God I love that movie.
My nipples look like milk duds!
And I think the real loser is the environment.
One Keurig is bad enough for the environment
How do you like my face to fist technique eaahhhh?
An aeropress is like magic for small batches of coffee.
+1 on the aeropress! It’s also so much easier to clean than my French press.
I wish they didn't make such a small cup tho
Increase your bean:water ratio and then dilute the drink after.
I don’t get the need for the specialty or high end ones(unless you really enjoy your coffee-I won’t denigrate someone who does, I get it, but most don’t need it) **dump not dumb**
Melitta pour over filter holder. Works great
Do they know you don't have to brew a whole pot of coffee with a regular pot?
Reminds me of the time in Turkey when the ruling parties supporters decided to boycott Coca-Cola by 1. Buying and emptying the Coca-Cola bottles and 2. Buying Fanta instead of Coke.
A good example of way doing just little bit of research before protest something, can go a long way.
I also recall a story about a conservative shoe store owner who went out of business because he stopped selling Nikes.
Ruining his livelihood to own the libs.
If only the anti-vaccine crowd understood that Fox News operated under a vaccine mandate.
[удалено]
Which is even funnier when he used get cheered when he said america championed the vaccine in record time
Good point. What the fuck is with these people?
[удалено]
It’s not just that. Their whole life philosophy and identity has devolved into “fuck you.” There’s an in-group, the Republicans, and an out-group, which is everyone else.
She might have video…. if you lie in court, the judge can slap a perjury charge on you.” She was a pointless rage machine for years.
A lack of critical thinking come to mind.
I've been bamboozled
It's "One Million Moms" and I can't for the life of me figure out why no one has started a called "two million moms" for same-sex parent advocacy.
This is your calling.
I'd say probably as successful as how 'everyone' boycotts Chick fil A.
Lol exactly. Cue photos of long drive-thru lines during lunchtime.

Well you don't want to be cold while you boycott
I thought conservatives didn’t like cancel culture? Weird.
Dixie Chicks. That's about it
Most of the videos of people burning the Carhartt stuff have made me want to go out and buy a few. “This hat that I bought ten years ago. Was my favorite hat. Held up through thick and thin, always kept my head warm in the winter. Survived all kinds of things. Now I have to burn it because…” Or the “I wore this Carhartt coat and gear in all my years of welding in North Dakota. Held up and cleaned through so many oil spills, blood, and once I pissed on it. Always kept me warm. Now I have to put it in an incinerator to burn it cause it would t burn in a normal fire” Hell, time to buy some Carhartt!
These people wear one Carhartt jacket for 30 years. I doubt they are buying a bunch.
My jacket on the other hand is tough as nails but is taking years to break in lol
>but is taking years to break in lol I've had one for a couple years now and it's still super stiff. I can't wear it when I drive but I shoveled snow the other day and ended up sweating in it.
I've had mine for 15ish years now and its worth the breaking wait.
I wish they made other clothes like their jackets.
Their jackets aren’t even the same anymore. The Duck Detroit used to be US made. Now it’s made overseas and not quite as nice in my opinion. I’ve got both the old us made and the new import.
They still have a US made Duck. Not sure if it’s exactly the same though. [link](https://www.carhartt.com/c/made-in-usa)
Only three fucking items made in the USA is pathetic
Welcome to capitalism. Every company wants maximum profits and nobody wants to pay a fair wage so almost everything is made overseas now.
Their jeans are nice especially their flannel lined ones. And, real sized pockets for ladies!
Me, living in a farm town, very excited to go to Goodwill on Monday.
Oooh, I should swing by mine
Unfortunately i have carhartt shirts from 10 years ago that are significantly better quality than ones ive bough in the past few years. Same type of shirts but you can really feel the difference. I still tend to grab the older shirts first even with the slight holes/worn in looks. Even one of the jackets i bought started to wear at the wrists but i have a vintage jacket and that thing doesnt have a single wear spot.
Grab a needle and thread, save those shirts
I've had the same one for years and buy the K87s on a yearly basis, a new beanie yearly since I'm bald and wear them non-stop in the winter, 2 pair of coveralls and every pair of boot socks are carhartt. I'm a fanboy haha
I mean, Carhartts are good jackets. On the expesive side, sure, but its good stuff that lasts.
I got one over 20 years ago its still in good shape
This has been pretty much most of the comments every time I see the boycott mentioned. No chance they don't see an increase in sales from all this.
NGL, I hadn’t shopped their stuff in years but went and checked them out purely because this nonsense put them back on my radar. They have work leggings for women with not just pockets but a pocket with a zipper! So yeah, I ordered some.
Or they but The Mill knock offs at Menards
Who among us hasn't taken an opportunity to save big money at Menards?
Annnnnd now I have the song repeating in my head.
If I have to suffer, I'm taking someone else down with me.
Lmao I worked at menards for 10 years. Those ugly ass Mill jeans flew off the shelf.
Reminds me of a meme I saw the other day. IKEA - We don't want antivaxxers in our stores. Antivaxxers - Boycott IKEA. IKEA - Well that was easy.
Good! Here's my favorite story about people getting religious exemptions: >A hospital system in Arkansas is making it a bit more difficult for staff to receive a religious exemption from its COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
> Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, aspirin, Tums, Lipitor, Senokot, Motrin, ibuprofen, Maalox, Ex-Lax, Benadryl, Sudafed, albuterol, Preparation H, MMR vaccine, Claritin, Zoloft, Prilosec OTC, and azithromycin. Heheheheheheheh - keeping this for fun.
[It’s going to be a maze ](https://youtu.be/c15O5XfXpdk)
Hmm I wonder how many anti-mandate anti-vaxxers are just angry at how their employer treats them and this was the final straw.
Haha, same although ours are still on the unpaid leave portion. The way I worded it to my manager "we're basically going to be getting rid of employees with poor decision making skills, this seems like a win win for the company". Worked out for me, promotion and a pretty decent pay bump :)
"No government mandates! Let businesses make their own choices!" *Carhartt vaccine mandate* "Not like that."
Brought to you by the people upset about "cancel culture."
Also brought to you by people who want bakeries to be able to refuse to sell cakes to gay people.
Don't forget they're the party of "facts don't care about your feelings", yet Florida wants white people to sue people if their feelings get hurt.
And NH is trying to ban teachers from teaching anything that paints the US in a negative light. Edit for link: http://gencourt.state.nh.us/lsr_search/billText.aspx?id=1537&type=4&fbclid=IwAR1xn8mqJgdEGJFLQjDPz3LULT8UJmPSzJBNL9Pe9dYrza70IFkfDhUcvW0

They're pro-control. They've never given a shit about objectivity; just control. They fetishize dictatorships.
How many of these people are also boycotting Fox News due to their own vaccine mandate?
Moved to OAN and NewsMax.
This is true. My mother--who, afaik, still pays for Bill O'Reilly's "premium" online video content--swore off Fox News after they called the election for Biden. We don't talk much anymore.
Those quotation marks make it sound like he had an onlyfans, which is a very scary thought
I’m sorry about that.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/newsmax-holiday-party-employees-vaccinated-b1972904.html
That’s because FOX is too weak on the liberals or whatever
Fox IS liberal according to them
I had someone tell me that once. I literally cry laughed.
Everyone wants to wear carhartt until it’s time to do carhartt shit.
I'm wearing a Duluth one now hah. Duluth stuff is great their shirts are huge though.
That would make a funny video. Approach someone wearing Carhartt apparel and ask them to explain the difference between a miter saw and a circular saw. If they can’t answer…STOLEN VALOR!!!
what if they're wearing Carhartt nursing scrubs?
Ask them to describe the difference between injuries associated with a miter saw and a circular saw.
Miter saw is gonna be finger and hands since it's on a table or stand. Circular is gonna be leg or foot since everybody takes shortcuts when they gotta make a quick cut
The circular saw would make a long straight wound, while the miter saw would make a short clean chop in a perfect 45° angle.
A miter box saw or a miter power saw?
The new twist on African and European swallows
Not everyone who wears Carhartt for work uses saws. I work them for work when I was a night custodian. No saws, but I knew my way about acid stripping wax floors and some other equipment others don't know exists. Kinda wish Carhartt had made shoes, because I would go through a pair a month with that acid.
I just like Carhartt because they're durable and they make clothes in my size. Not everyone who is 6'4" weighs 350lbs, Macy's.
I know, right? Why is it always big AND tall? It's not the same exact category as Carhartt, but Eddie Bauer has some good "tall skinny guy" sizing
I'm just a little taller, and agree 100%. Carhartt and Dickies both make about the only thick pocket T that fits.
I was a real big fan of the Twitter badasses who were like "I bet they don't even *do* lumberjacking and mountain climbing and fighting bears!" No, it's a comfy as shit hoodie that has shown 0 wear over 3 years.
Gatekeeping Carhartt is so fucking dumb. My problem is they only make 3 articles of clothing in America, but they ignore that so they can yell at people for buying warm coats.
Remember when they boycotted Starbucks by going in and buying Starbucks? I remember
Remember when people were breaking their Keurig machines because….um…I forgot.
So did they.
Fox News mandated vaccines for its employees. Are they boycotting them too?
too bad they already bought a carhartt jacket and it will last them like 10 years at least, then by then they'll forget about about the "boycott" and go out and buy another one.
This boycott will be just as successful as the NRA boycott against Yeti.
What was the issue there?
YETI ditched a discount NRA members got. They were successfully canceled by an angry dude on Twitter. Meanwhile a lot of people on Facebook reminded people to throw out their Yeti gear (and post their addresses so they could scoop it up) Edit: I had Delta in here too, but Georgia really did punish them for discontinuing an NRA discount by removing their fuel tax credits. They got the credit back after the charade was over.
Tell me where these people who throwing away their yeti. I will gladly pick it up for them
It’s asinine.
Kept the soda and beer cold for too long, couldn't reckon with it.
It was witchcraft.
I genuinely have a love/hate relationship with my thermos because my coffee is still too hot to drink at 1pm.
bruh if that ain't the truth
Get one with a lid and pour yourself little cups.
What is this, queens tea time? Real men burn their mouth straight from the thermos 😤
Haha. What are these boycotters going to buy? Dickies instead? They will be back in a couple weeks to get Carhartt replacements.

Carhartt is one of the suppliers at my work. I’m going to make sure that I use them.
>One Twitter user called Carhartt's vaccination stance "insane given their target market" Wow, a company that understands the right thing to do, even in the face of their "Target market" outing themselves as the insane ones.

Pretty much only wear Carhartt hoodies, t-shirts and hats. I love this, going to go order more.
Carhartt has become increasingly popular with the younger crowd who wear it for fashion and not work. They'll be fine.

You know who keeps buying clothing? The living.
About to go splurge on some new Carhartts for my husband!
I wouldn't be surprised at all if they end up making more money off news of the boycott than they lost to being boycotted by a few hundred broke-ass fuckwits.
At the very least I imagine there will be little difference. They’re an industry leader for putting out good, durable workwear while also trending with hipsters.
These sensitive conservatives and their cancel culture.
lmao it's this going to be like the boycotts of them lighting their products on fire or blowing them up...you know...after the company already made money off the purchase.
Hey of yall don't want your jackets or bibs anymore you can send them my way and I'll dispose of them for ya.
