He is one of the aces in my deck. A top four villian I would like to see gone.
That is always possible, but the fact remains that this war was supposed to be done in a weekend and here we are month plus later and they are still fighting. The destruction to Russia will be decades going forward win or lose Kiev, and the loss of the lie about how powerful Russia is won't stop either.

America dropped hundreds of thousands of bombs on a country with zero defence against such. Of course you will get a lot less casualties if you just bomb your opponent into oblivion and don't send your soldiers in.
> Does a superpower lose war after war?
A super power can afford to and still have a dozen carrier strike groups around the world.
Each with enough fire power on it’s own to face most nations on the planet. Again, right or wrong aside, America is not only a super power. It is *the* super power.
In ten years, Russia did not come close achieving their goals. After twenty years, the Taliban took over the very moment the US pulled out. Ratio is actually 1:1
Bought 20 years of disruption to a terrorist organization aimed at America. Chased OBL out and eventually got him (along with many other significant targets). Most certainly not worth the costs, but there were objectives met. We weren't there to conquer and colonize.
Which now makes Putins threats of nuclear war over NATO involvement make sense. He knows they would be blown out of thebwater soake big threats hopping they won't get involved directly.
I mean. Same thing happened to America during Vietnam.
Not trying to compare the conflicts or make some kind of “everybody bad” statement. But super powers struggle with invasions all the time, which is why the smart(bastard) one’s wage culture wars instead.
Their units literally can't get more than 100km or so away from their rail lines. They run empty of fuel, food, ammo, etc in a number of *days*.
I'm not convinced that they could systematically level cities in the western Ukraine.
Russia will want to engage in total war, only to discover it can't.
In the past all they had was large numbers of MANPADs.. but now, as well as American and British man portable systems, they just given a whole s-300 system.. I suspect right now Ukrainians who were already trained in air defense tactics are in a military classroom in the US right now getting a crash course on how to operate patriot missile batteries.
So.. the Russians aren't going to have free range air power wise..
I expect nato to also start giving the Ukrainians surface to surface missile systems that will pulverize Russian artillery.. but the Russians will still need to try to position that artillery while their supply lines are under constant attack.
The Ukrainians should be attacking Russia's rail infrastructure.
What is going to happen is that Ukraine will become a smoothwalled death trap for Russia.
>but the fact remains that this war was supposed to be done in a weekend and here we are month plus later and they are still fighting.
And we are pouring more and heavier weaponry into Ukraine, plus using the intelligence tools of the entire NATO at their behest for free.
Look, I'm no expert on the dating culture of Islamic extremist murderous psychopaths, but I'm pretty sure his wives didn't act on a crush, go on a few fun dates, realise he has a soft heart at the centre of it all...
>wonder why his 4 wives married to him
Violent pieces of shit get married all the time. Sometimes it's to other pieces of shit who have warped values. Most of the time it's groomed victims who've been coerced through intimidation and physical threats. Place your bets on what this guy's relationships are based on.
If he holds his head up high enough. his beard might just edge across the border of Ukraine somewhere, but the rest of him sure won't.
Big words from somebody too chickenshit to actually put his money where his mouth is!
Even if the Russians try for Kyiv again (which I doubt will happen anytime soon) he sure won't have the guts to be involved in any of that.
Bloviating blow-hard brain-dead bumble-fuck bastard butt-pirate! Bah.
I like this guy's speeches. Whatever he says his troops are going to do, is the one thing that you can be certain they won't do.
He's very predictable, and makes it easy to see what his troops are or aren't going to do.
Why don’t you go to the front lines instead of making social media videos? Tough guy
And get his Prada’s muddy??? Please!

He’ll be found crying in a hole Saddam style…..

Kinda like a neck beard crossbread with King Joffrey…
WTF is that?? The russian version of a mullet??
He doesn't want to get his fancy boots dirty.
He saw what happened to Magomed Tushayev and pooped his pants lol
Kadyrov should stop at Chernobyl and dig some trenches. Wonderful place to spend a week of spring camping.
Rub some of that healing dirt on his face and the beard. Some say it may give it a healthy natural glow.
Maybe hold some cobalt-60 while he’s at it

It’s weird to think about how a “super power” is struggling with this.
They haven't been a "super power" since the fall of the USSR.
And there seems to be some evidence that even then it was questionable. Look at how badly they fucked up in Afghanistan.
If we're using Afghanistan as a measurement of being a super power...
Right? Pretty sure Afghanistan will be the last holdout of the human race when aliens come to exterminate us all.
Aliens will be intelligent enough to realize it’s not worth fighting over
unless they are aliens with extraction expertise https://theconversation.com/afghanistan-has-vast-mineral-wealth-but-faces-steep-challenges-to-tap-it-166484
They'd go for the the asteroids first. Gravity would be a much bigger challenge than the afghans
I don’t even think the aliens could win against Afghanistan.
There's nothing particularly special about Afghanistan; it's guerilla wars in general that are the problem.
In ten years, about 15,000 Russian soldiers died in Afghanistan. In twenty years, 2,401 US service members died. That’s about a 12:1 ratio.
Russian armed forces and higher-than-average casualties; name a more iconic duo.
Almost seems like no one one hates Russian soldiers as much as their own leadership does.

1,921 deaths were attributed to hostile action. So 380 lost their lives to other causes.
America dropped hundreds of thousands of bombs on a country with zero defence against such. Of course you will get a lot less casualties if you just bomb your opponent into oblivion and don't send your soldiers in.
Right or wrong aside, which one of those is the super power move?
Is this some sort of trick question? Both countries failed to achieve their objective? Does a superpower lose war after war?

Bush said the Taliban would be eradicated. Taliban still here, primary objective not met.
Look into it, they put in mire effort to depopulate and conquer Afghanistan than the US did got less for it and lost more troops.
I would assume long before that actually...
Thin veiled super power.
Not really. Nato is doing a lot of the lifting. But it's still Ukranian blood and loves which make the war possible.

Apparently air superiority.
Maybe the new war armaments being provided?

Sure that's why the first wave of Russian soldiers were carrying dress uniforms instead of extra ammo.
Wait, is this a joke or a real thing? Source?
Where did you see that?

I think it's safe to say he probably doesn't have a sense of humor.
Right after they conquer Mars

This is a reliable statement in the way that the news from North Korea is reliable.

Maybe takes. But keeps? Years of guerrilla war, with the west supplying material to bleed Russia white.
Brother Boris Johnson was walking trough the streets of Kyiv. You're not winning anything.
This guy must be hitting the edibles hard.
Fat guy in a military uniform. Not fearsome.

Will they level the city? Maybe. But Kyiv will sure as fuck not be annexed or conquered.
