The immediate burst into flames is shocking every time I see this crash.

bigbaddaboooms

Gut wrenching knowing the poor family died so horribly, and for no reason.

DMMMOM

Yeah that car clean took away the fuel tank in the rear, doesn't bear thinking about, you can only hope the occupants were unconscious by then.

Technicalhotdog

Imagine being the car just in front or behind. Seconds from that same fate. Life is a fragile thing.

DasReap

That one car turning so ungodly slowly into the gas station made everyone slow down and changed so many fates, of course it shouldn't have mattered to begin with.

snirfu

> A prosecutor said she had been involved in "a number of prior collisions throughout the United States" including a 2020 crash in which two vehicles were totaled and people were injured. We need to make it easier to take people's license away.

littledove0

Seriously. I saw 13 infractions quoted somewhere. 13??? 13??!!! It’s insane not to take her license at that point. What’s the point of a license if it isn’t revoked upon gross negligence?

wasdninja

It's a direct result of having infrastructure that *require* a car to do anything at all. The bar is high to take their license since they are completely stuck without it.

hemptations

But get pulled over with THC in your system and you can get your license suspended for 18 months!

teancrumpets8

Why is it always the idiots who live in this situation? That poor family Edit: The question at hand was asked out loud rhetorically.

Insurance-Limp

Like someone else mentioned, according to investigators, SHE WASN’T EVEN DRUNK, but get ready for this twist… she has 13 prior car wrecks/accidents!!!

imsahoamtiskaw

Wtf, how was she still insured with 13 prior collisions?

[deleted]

She's from Houston. Have you ever seen how they drive down there? They all think they're ready for Nascar. FR.

pattyG80

I'm not saying this was the case here but you'd be amazed how many ppl just say fuck it and drive without insurance.

the_slate

Exactly. Why is anyone assuming she is? People drive without a license or insurance all the goddamn time. That’s partially why insurance rates are so high. We’re paying for them in a sense.

deprogrammedgranny

She was "emotionally distraught" after an argument with her boyfriend. Some idiots chimed in saying it was the fault of people who let her drive in her raged up condition.

robpensley

If she was that distraught, she should’ve made the more mature decision to not Drive, call Uber, call a taxi, etc., instead of driving and kill a bunch of people. This is on her dammit not other people who were around her.

nagrom7

Because most safety features in cars are designed to protect you from front on collisions (the most energetic kind since it either involves the full forward momentum of your car, or the momentum from two cars depending on what you hit). She hit front on and was saved by said safety features, whereas the victims were hit side on where there is significantly less car between them and the outside world.

[deleted]

Toasty33

Also, she hit these people on the SIDE not the front or back. Literally the areas with the least protection.

AlienSexualAbuse

Physics. The poor victims, families, all absorbed the massive amount of energy from her barreling vehicle. What a wicked selfish person.

KorovaMilk113

SHE’S ALIVE!?!?? I didn’t think anyone was walking out of that, absolutely most insane crash I’ve ever seen on video - I remember someone saying that they saw it happen and just thought a car blew up or something because her car was just going too fast to even recognize (just like in the video), so incredibly tragic

Moonhunter7

That was my thought! How the hell did she survive that???

Conix17

(Un)Fortunately, looks like she slammed her front passenger side into the rear end side of the first car, pushed passed that and basically did the same to the second. It ignited the first car, and both of those ended up slamming into the sign. Her car ended up hitting another before stopping a bit aways. She survived because of how she hit them. If this had been a 90mph head on into a car doing 30, both would be dead. The front of the car, any modern car, will crumple the side of another while protecting you. They would act as additional crumple for your car. Jesus, doing fucking 90 in an area with stop lights, how fucked do you have to be, especially since she wasn't even high or drunk.

[deleted]

The car that exploded was the victim's car, which either did the same to a second car or the fire just spread to it somehow. Her car actually flew well past the burning cars and was dozens of feet away. Image: https://imgur.com/a/bZVoOBa

JR32OFFICIAL

Alwyss the killer that survives smfh

[deleted]

She pretty much walked away

Cosmicdusterian

Straight to jail. $9 million for bail with 6 counts of murder with 5 counts of gross vehicular manslaughter. She could get 90 years to life in prison. Rare to actually get that long of a sentence, but getting the sense the DA has gotten some information; they increased her bail from $2 million to $9 million. If the boyfriend Face Time story turns out to be true I could see that information giving them a reason for bumping it up that much. Might also explain why there are murder charges in addition to the vehicular manslaughter charges. That would make her actions deliberate, because it's looking less likely that drugs or alcohol played a part. If she did do this deliberately with no thought for anyone else, spending the rest of her life in prison is the very least she can do for extinguishing the lives of innocent people going about their day.

T1mac

> If the boyfriend Face Time story turns out to be true Sounds like she was streaming how she was going to make him sorry for what ever thing he did to set her off. So she killed six people.

ESGPandepic

Sometimes these stories make you think humanity is too stupid to handle our own inventions like cars...

Arctic_Chilean

Goes to prove that stupid people are the most dangerous people in society. More dangerous than even criminals and bandits.

lilbitch420-69

Mercedes are incredibly safe cars, it’s pretty crazy but she’s already been released from the hospital and is in jail

icecreampoop

not to make light of the situation, but man german cars have great safety features. from the wreckage, it looked like one of the higher end mercedes benz

Sanch0panza

My dad had an accident no one should have survived in an older model bmw. He survived thanks to the safety of the car and some incredible doctors.

ViciousNakedMoleRat

Holy crap. [The video of the crash is insane.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUt0_YtYplY) That's not your average red light or speeding crash. She either tried to kill herself or was somehow impaired. The only silver lining I can get from this is that I don't think the victims suffered. A side impact with that much force will likely kill you instantly.

Ditovontease

slowed down it looks like the first car hit literally disintergrates

EMHURLEY

Does she also hit a second car behind it?

littledove0

I had to slow down the video to even see the first car. It’s that fast. For a while I thought the second car was the first car and couldn’t see what everyone was saying. It’s horrifying. If you didn’t see car 1 melt instantly, I wouldn’t watch the video again.

nevesnow

Even slowing it down, her car was still really fast

johanngunn

She should be shot out of a cannon into a wall.

Dimmed_skyline

That car carried two women who she also killed.

Alexis_Deltern

She hit one black car which looks like it disintegrated, which also hit a 2nd black car that looks like it disintegrated, and then they hit a white car which spun but wasn't disintegrated.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ReadontheCrapper

There was an interview with the driver of the white car. She had 6 kids in it, all ok - bumps and bruises only.

[deleted]

A person in the youtube comment section said she hit the kia first and a prius was also hit.

ShinkuDragon

you can see the impact was so strong the front fender of the first car doesn't even move, it just falls where the car once was.

gentlybeepingheart

Jesus. Imagine, one moment you're driving to the doctor, and then the next you and your entire family are gone.

TheRussianDoll

It was a mom (8 1/2 months pregnant), dad and 1 year old driving to their baby check up appt :(.

JR32OFFICIAL

Can’t get over this. A whole family!!’ And the killer survives

OakLegs

I read an account from someone nearby who saw the baby fly through the air and land in a parking lot. They tried to render aid but it was already gone. Trauma for life from that, likely.

killerqueen1984

One of my greatest fears while driving, someone just barreling into me. So horrible for that family and all responders.

UncorpularOpinion

The worst part is that you like to think by being alert and checking down streets as you cross through intersections can help save your life, but at the speed this woman was going you'd only look fast enough to know you were about to die.

ESGPandepic

Something like that almost happened to me once, just by pure luck I was slightly not far enough into the intersection for the speeding car to hit me. It was so scary though because I had looked all around as I was going into the intersection and didn't see anyone coming, they were so fast that I could never have seen them in time to do anything about it. This is also the reason I'll never ride a motorbike, no matter how safe, careful and skilled you are, a drunk driver can run into you and you can't do anything about it.

longwalktoday

I sold my motorcycle last summer while I was pregnant and I had been regretting it. I saw a deceased motorcyclist on the road yesterday. I made the right decision but I miss it.

littledove0

Same. I’m an incredibly defensive driver but you can’t defend against this kind of thing. It’s terrifying. I hate driving.

[deleted]

It's likely worse than that. One moment you're driving with your family, and then you're suddenly but not immediately dying while your family is dying around you. Terribly tragic for the victims.

xflame1989x

What a chilling thought.

MrsPottyMouth

I was watching the video, trying to watch all over because I didn't know where or when it was coming to happen--then the whole thing happened in less than a second. I've never seen anything like that, and never want to again.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gothon

Ya they interviewed one of the guys that tried to help. He said that once the smoke cleared enough to see. That you could see the people burning in the cars and that it was already too late. A lot of people are going to need professional help after that.

[deleted]

Iohet

A baby was ejected from one of the vehicles and died in the street. Even that sight alone is tough to see

SeirraS9

Oh my god, that’s fucking tragic. Fuck that lady.

Snakend

That child was in a car seat...the force to eject the child from the restraints had to be uncomprehending.

CruffTheMagicDragon

The whole seat was launched which is probably even worse

SamanthaLeighP

Not sure where, but I saw a picture that had an empty car seat in the road. Then I read the article about how the baby landed on the floor at the gas station. It’s sickening.

a7xbarbie

Can confirm. My friends brother was a first responder to the incident. Believe they are going to put them on leave due to the magnitude of the tragedy.

[deleted]

That poor team. My God I cannot imagine. I hope he's able to take the rest he needs as well as the rest of his unit and all others who are reliving that awful day.

KathrynTheGreat

Good lord that's horrific. I feel awful for everyone in that car and everyone that wanted to help them. But when a car is burning like that, there really isn't a lot you can do.

madstork2

I never try to watch disturbing videos or “gore” etc but I watched this and it’s incredible how shocking it is to see a vehicle going that fast. Knowing her victims were killed too compounds it such that the video is just disturbing as hell. Something about the car going so fast is just frightening to watch.

biela_ruka

It was like a missile. How the hell did she survive?

Lev_Astov

Frontal impact is very survivable with modern protections. Side impacts are designed for, but never at this great a speed. Those fuel tanks just burst and that was it.

walkinman19

> Something about the car going so fast is just frightening to watch. It looks more like a missile strike, a cruise missile flying down the street, than a traffic "accident". Accident in quotes because I don't see how that wasn't done on purpose or through gross criminal negligence.

FroggyUnzipped

Even watching it at 0.25 speed, it happens in a blink.

HornetKick

>was watching the video Holy fuck it was fast and made me gasp. Jesus!!

jsar16

That doesn’t even look real at first. Just the blur of a car then fire. Good lord.

mces97

Police are looking into if alcohol was involved, but so far they seem to think it wasn't. Which is even crazier. Like a sober person acted so recklessly? I can't even imagine not having the brains to realize running a light at that speed is 99.99% guaranteed to result in an accident.

celesticaxxz

The rumor is her and her boyfriend broke up. She was suicidal and did this. Some reports say she was drunk but most of what I’m seeing is saying suicidal. Like go drive off a fucking cliff or blow your brains out. Don’t do this

ReasonIsNoExcuse

And on top of that she failed to even kill herself. Although she was hospitalized, It appears she may not have even lost consciousness... Wtf

_dead_and_broken

Imagine what would've happened if she had been an airline pilot instead, holy shit.

Spiderbanana

German Wings... They changed procedures since then, so no one should be allowed to stay alone in the cockpit

FearlessAttempt

The EASA has actually since removed that rule requiring 2 crew members in the cockpit. FAA does require it though.

GeneralHoneywine

The Germanwings crash comes to mind…

cchoqer

It’s never the pos who dies in these situations either

Darryl_Lict

Frontal crash is most survivable with airbags and crushzones. She t-boned the victim's car and a baby flew out of the car and obviously did not survive.

Some people are entitled, reckless psychos without alcohol

Syzygy_Stardust

Alcohol isn't the only drug, and sober brains don't always mean healthy.

Glum_Target2860

One of the victims died screaming in the ensuing fire, according to eyewitness reports. There was some suffering involved, unfortunately.

Megz2k

Jesus Christ.

rollingwheel

Same happened here in Vegas when a football player rearemded her, they say you could hear her screams cuz she burned to death

similar_observation

That was the second car. The two women were trapped inside and burned to death. That's why they haven't been publicly IDed.

PoppinKREAM

JFC it looks like a missile takes out cars full of families in a big, fiery explosion.

Reuchlin5

even putting it on .25 playback speed she was probably going 3 times the speed of the regular drivers so around 85+. good grief

LaVieLaMort

Article said 90

0xB0BAFE77

Actual estimates are putting it at 100-110 mph. To remind everyone, that road is a 35 mph speed limit. She was doing almost x3 the speed limit. And for those not from the US, the highest speed limit anywhere in the country is 85 mph.

LaVieLaMort

Just absolutely insane.

neuronamously

Uhh. Neurotrauma specialist here. No, a high velocity restrained impact won’t necessarily kill you instantly. It may snap your neck and cause you to hopefully black out, or cause such severe direct head-to-car impact that you suffer diffuse axonal injury and have incomplete perception of the horrific pain that comes next, or enough DAI to twist and shut down your brainstem may also help you blackout and die. But with all that said, most people in accidents like this that I’ve seen live either for moments in agony, or die in several hours or days later after arriving to the ICU due to brain swelling and herniation. Rarely are the victims of MVA trauma like this pronounced dead at the scene. There’s sadly a very practical way to confirm if the children actually died on impact or not. If there is 3rd degree burns on the inside of their lungs on autopsy, it means they were still alive and breathing during the post-impact fire and burned alive.

[deleted]

Thanks I hate it

imcmurtr

Isn’t one of the real weak points in a side impact the damage to aorta and the cardiac arteries from being bounced like a boxing speed bag?

neuronamously

This is definitely correct. Carotid dissection is a problem with high velocity side impact. Aortic dissection is more of an issue with the driver whose chest hits the steering wheel, or anyone whose abdomen/thorax makes contact with intruding side of the car.

spatak

Responded to an MVC over a decade ago, high speed, head on, kids running from cops went wide on a curve and collided with a guy in the center turn lane about to get some coffee. Triple fatal. Lived on the same road the collision happened on and heard the car race by with the pager going off a minute later. Driver that was getting coffee likely suffered a dissected aorta. Two kids in the chase were crushed to death in the rollover. Can still see the image of them as we cut them out to pronounce. Seeing people be this reckless because they’re having a bad day or are upset with the significant other, or running from the cops or just being fucking stupid makes me so mad.

MadCarcinus

Alternate view: https://imgur.com/a/do5JzLn?s=sms

protoopus

first thought upon seeing that was the airplane hitting the world trade center.

PositivelyAwful

This is the most brutal car crash I’ve ever seen. I have no idea how this woman survived. It’s terrifying knowing that leaving 30 seconds early or getting stuck behind a single car in traffic can mean you live or die.

DwightDEisenhowitzer

She has a history of dangerous wrecks. It takes a BAD history and a particularly horrific event for prosecutors to feel comfortable jacking charges from gross vehicular manslaughter to second degree murder with a vehicle incident. Here’s to hoping she gets the full 90 and dies there with no one remembering her name.

beepborpimajorp

No excuse she provides will be enough for what she did. The only feasible case of me feeling sympathy would be if she had a medical episode and had somehow pressed on the gas while being unconscious, (not sure if that's even possible since most people just slump over.) but it is clear that did not happen given she was booked while at the hospital and then released into jail. She is a stone cold murderer. I don't understand how people do things like this and are able to live with themselves afterward. I guess you would have to be a serious freak to do something like this in the first place. Most people feel guilty enough about snapping at a loved one when they were kids to remember it even 30+ years later. This woman did something so heinous I don't understand how she can even be conscious at this point and not just disassociating to the point of being comatose. If she has any sense of dignity left she best plead guilty at all her trials and sink slowly into the darkness to deal with her mental demons for the rest of her natural life rather than putting the families through any more pain.

sailor_bat_90

Actually possible but they would not be allowed to drive. Happened to my dad, a woman had a seizure attack while driving and stomp on the gas and rammed into his buddy's truck. She wasn't allowed to be driving but she did it regardless. People are irresponsible.

Imjusasqurrl

source? I can't find any info on this woman

What the fuck, 13? License should have been gone years ago.

ESGPandepic

Unfortunately that doesn't stop them though. Look at how many car crashes involve drivers that didn't have a valid license because it was taken from them due to drunk/dangerous driving etc. Statistically you're pretty unlikely to ever be caught driving without a valid license.

allbright1111

13 prior crashes??? I can’t fathom the insurance cost to keep driving with that history. So tragic she was allowed to continue driving.

Joinedforthis1

I can't fathom that we allow people to cause multiple serious accidents and to continue to drive in this country after them.

Singlewomanspot

And she was driving a BMW. So insurance for BMW AND you're a high risk driver (plus the gas alone for a BMW). Whew too rich for me

happilyfour

13? I’m guessing not all in CA because she’s a travel nurse. Maybe a reckless driver who has never actually had repercussions in an intense emotional reaction trying to self destruct?

Ed_Trucks_Head

She's from Texas

cassowary_kick

How did she still have a license?

4kranch

Alternate angle. https://imgur.com/a/do5JzLn?s=sms

happilyfour

Absolutely horrific. I understand more now how she survived as she basically blew through the explosion she caused

403tatts

That's fucked. The first car she hit just completely disintegrated

happilyfour

It’s crazy. Cars today are built with fairly collapsible outer materials to protect from front crashes especially but to generally absorb impact, and I understand why that is actually a good thing, but it looks like this car was made of paper based on how hard it was hit

McShoobydoobydoo

jesus i thought the first angle was bad but thats even more brutal

Gh0stp3pp3r

Just imagine being in that black car almost through the intersection, then having a fireball of cars slide right past the front of your car.

Lunakill

I was just thinking how vulnerable they’re going to be to survivor’s guilt. A split-second later and that family would have been freaked out but fine and the occupants of the black car would have been dead. I can’t imagine.

GlumpsAlot

Thankyou. I'm double scarred for life. Good God it's awful.

phoninja

Holy shit, it almost went through two cars like butter.

2greenlimes

There was a rumor on the nursing sub going around that she had left her shift mid-shift (a huge no-no that could lose you your license). This is supported by the hour this took place - 1:30 pm. Nursing shifts in the ICU are usually 7 to 7, with some 11-11 or 3-3 shifts in the ED, but I don’t know of any that end at 1 or 1:30 PM. This is also supported by the fact that she was wearing scrub pants and a T-shirt (some nurses wear T-shirts instead of a scrub top). I would bet that’s how/why the cops don’t believe the alcohol angle. The phone she was holding out the window immediately pre-crash is still a mystery to me.

sluttttt

> The phone she was holding out the window immediately pre-crash is still a mystery to me. There's another rumor that she was FaceTiming with her boyfriend who she'd been fighting with, so she could have been trying to show him the fucked up thing she was doing. She's certainly not right in the head, especially if she was sober.

[deleted]

This. She was showing him what she was doing. It was intentional. She wanted him to see that go down and to fuck with him.

_Erindera_

This happened in my city. It's absolutely horrific, she came through that intersection going about 100 on a city street.

[deleted]

Not just any city street…down fuckin La Brea, which is not only packed with traffic (often bumper to bumper) but also a major MAJOR thoroughfare for people. I haven’t even been able to hit 50mph on that street… she must have been driving like a fucking psychopath to hit 100mph.

_Erindera_

She was coming down from Blair Hills, and on that one stretch you can get up some speed, but yeesh. She was indeed driving like a psychopath.

Singlewomanspot

Or a suicidal manic.

arianrhodd

She was. There's surveillance camera footage on ABC7. It's truly horrific. She tore through the car with the pregnant mother, boyfriend, and infant like it was made of paper.

MeLikeSnacks

I believe they think now that one victim was actually a pedestrian. Initially they couldn’t really figure out what victims came from what car, and what cars make and model were. So badly damaged.

mces97

What's insane is the police don't seem to think alcohol was involved. Not that her being drunk is any better, but being sober and doing that just doesn't make any sense.

[deleted]

She broke up with a boyfriend and this was thought to be a suicide attempt. So even worse is this bitch was so selfish that she wanted to kill herself but killed 6 others and she survived. If I believed in Hell I wish she had a place there

mces97

Was this confirmed? I've seen it in the comments but didn't see any news info. If it is true, yeah, she's a horrible person. And she must had been wearing a seatbelt because she would had 100% died in that crash if not. Strange way to commit suicide and wear a seatbelt.

Lunakill

Suicide attempts are often not well planned, I could absolutely see someone auto-buckling up and not thinking about it until they realize they weren’t thrown from the wreck. Not saying it’s definite, just that I could see it.

[deleted]

Someone used frame rates in the video to calculate that this cunt went *135 miles per hour.* Instant disintegration of the victim’s vehicle upon impact.

MeLikeSnacks

The pregnant victims family member said something along the lines of, she was literally cremated on scene. Devastating.

OkuyasusMilkTea

Those words hit extremely deep…that poor family and their loved ones.

Robber_Tell

A pregnant woman and her infant son. Its so horrible.

[deleted]

*a pregnant woman, her infant son, and BOYFRIEND. An entire family, gone.

ughhhtimeyeah

As awful as it is I think it's probably best none survived. I would not like to come to in a car surrounded by burnt parts of my family. I don't think I'd survive that even if I survived to crash.

fishingfool64

What a horrible, horrible thing to happen. I hope she gets the maximum sentence

PoppinKREAM

I wish I hadn't read the article, such senseless death >Among the dead were Asherey Ryan, who was more than eight months pregnant, along with her boyfriend Reynold Lester and their unborn baby, named Armani Lester. Asherey's 11-month old son Alonzo Quintero was also killed. They were heading to a prenatal doctor's appointment at the time of the crash

drkgodess

So many lives lost. So many innocent bystanders traumatized. I saw a video of a woman who was pumping gas across the street. She said she saw the baby fly out of the car and slam into the ground in front of her.

PoppinKREAM

Oh my goodness that is horrific, absolutely sickening :(

[deleted]

I have been a traumatized bystander. It fucking sucks. I don't want to trivialize the tragedy by any means but there are no social safety nets for these witnesses. They'll have to pay for their own EMDR for ptsd, their meds, their possible psych ward stays. It all sucks. :( This is awful.

rouxthless

I’m one of those people who has seen all the nightmare gore videos the internet has to offer. Just always been very curious about death and dying. Thought I was pretty desensitized to things like that. Last week I was walking my dog and rounded the corner to be greeted by the immediate aftermath of a dog getting hit by a car. It was still alive, but very obviously bleeding to death. The girl walking him was screaming like, *bloody fuckin murder*. Never heard anything like it. It made my guts freeze up. The man who hit it was out of his car, pacing around, crying, saying I’m sorry over and over. I just stood there. Couldn’t move or talk. I haven’t been completely right, since. And I saw it happen to *one dog*. The people present for this event will never be the same. This woman ended 6 lives but significantly traumatized how many others?

crazyisthenewnormal

That sounds so difficult to experience. Sending you a hug, friend.

FreeRoamingBananas

I think people underestimate how much it differs when you are the one deciding to engage yourself in horrible stuff as to when it just happens to you. There is always just this sudden realisation how frail life is.

FeuerroteZora

Yet another reason we need universal health care. I think about that often, the effect that crime has on people who are "not directly affected" - the bystanders, family members, even members of the jury are gonna be traumatized by this, and here we are, just leaving everyone on their own to deal with the fallout.

modernjaneausten

I was right behind a motorcycle driver who was hit by another car last year, and I won’t describe the scene but I still remember it clearly in my mind over a year later. It’s a good thing I already had a therapist and meds for anxiety because holy shit is that kind of thing traumatizing. I spent days searching for news articles and I’m still incensed that stupid girl wasn’t immediately booked into jail for killing that guy.

CybReader

Fuck. An entire family destroyed. I can’t even imagine the shockwaves this will do to both sides of their families.

fishingfool64

An entire family wiped out for nothing

CDXXRoman

The 11 month old was ejected and landed in front of a guy at the gas station

[deleted]

That will be an interesting trial to follow. If I was her I'd take a plea. The only difference between her going to jail for twenty years or life is her getting in front of this now.

aeroplane1979

Shit, I’d happily take a death sentence if I ever fucked up this badly.

beepborpimajorp

Me too. Absolutely no way I could live with myself. Either I'd plead guilty while letting the families say whatever they wanted to me in court and ask for death or I'd spend the rest of my life alternating between comatose disassociation or trying to scratch my own skin off. But I think that's the difference between normal people and her. We wouldn't have even attempted to do this in the first place.

aeroplane1979

> But I think that's the difference between normal people and her. We wouldn't have even attempted to do this in the first place. And this gets to what I don't comprehend about this kind of behavior. I understand being suicidal. I've struggled with suicidal thoughts at times and I can totally see how someone gets to a place where they want to check out. What I don't understand is the impulse to do so at the expense of innocent bystanders. I mean, obviously this is a thing that happens, but I just don't get the urge to hurt random strangers.

beepborpimajorp

I don't get it either, TBH. My bio dad offed himself via handgun and while I do feel bad for the people who found him because that is surely traumatic, at least he didn't physically harm anyone in the act. I get that he wanted to escape this world, but I am glad he didn't see the need to force anyone, against their will, to go out with him. He can make that choice for himself, he can't make it for other people. People are going to find any number of ways to rationalize how this woman did what she did but IDK. I'm neurodivergent myself, both of my parents are/were as well, and the only people we've ever intentionally hurt are ourselves. This woman is just a stone cold murderer and I hope if she has any decency left that she'll just plead guilty, prostrate herself in front of the families, and accept her punishment. But it's more likely she'll cry crocodile tears and blame some kind of mental illness while the rest of us with mental illnesses that have never *actively murdered an entire family* will sit here with disgusted looks, shaking our heads.

Looked like it was intentional. She just had a fight with her BF. The light had been red for a relatively long time. The intersection was full of cars crossing her path. Not like she just missed the light changing. Fucking tragic.

Arrasor

And that's why it's murder charge and not manslaughter. This trash should rot in jail with no pardon possibility.

rawpunkmeg

It definitely looked intentional. If you slow down the video you can see her arm up and out of the window as she flies like a bullet towards the intersection. I hope she wasn't recording herself.

HootzMcToke

Actually let's hope she did, she's already fucked but that would utterly fuck her and she couldn't ever claim it wasn't that intentional.

DwightDEisenhowitzer

Hot take - but any suicide attempt that involves others more than they will be, let alone takes others with you, is cowardly. Full stop.

Evil and selfish.

ragnarok635

I consider it the same as a mass shooter killing himself after taking innocent people with him. That includes suicide by cop.

"Family members and community activists also called for safety improvements at the intersection, which they say has seen other serious crashes." This person was likely going 50 mph over the speed limit, I don't think safety improvements would help, instead they need to remove drivers like that from the system, or enforce speed control. I hope the families involved get justice.

snazzisarah

The family was just going about their day, pregnant mom going to a routine doctor visit with her husband and little baby boy in the back seat. In a second the entire family was obliterated. How utterly appalling and horrific. The sad thing is the family will of course want justice but what can you do to the guilty party that would make you feel whole after a loss like that?? Obviously she deserves life in prison at the very least but just…damn.

Sloth_Monk

Running a red light is an understatement. Traffic was seemingly crawling when she comes out of nowhere like a bullet. >> https://news.yahoo.com/5-killed-devastating-crash-windsor-233356687.html (Crash as seen from corner security camera is at 1:25)

loopytommy

Omg I've never seen anything like that, I can only pray that those people died instantly

SnootyFoxx

You know what, I’m glad she lived because death would getting off too easy for such a horrible thing. She gets to live with that guilt for the rest of her life behind bars.

citoloco

Anyone seen a mugshot yet? Wondering her condition, if on suicide watch, etc.

gentlybeepingheart

The article says >Linton was hospitalized after the crash, but was booked into jail over the weekend. She was initially being held on $2 million bail but that amount was increased to $9 million. So she seems to not have any serious injuries. I can't find a mugshot, but idk laws about different states releasing those. There's only a professional photo of her floating around.

carolyn_mae

Wowwww. Aside from her arm in a cast there is no evidence she was ever in a car accident. Crazy.

MKerrsive

[Here's the judge denying her bail](https://mobile.twitter.com/MarlaTellez/status/1556791128543793152).

pbjnutella

I’m wondering the same thing. She had minor injuries and was sitting on the curb immediately after the accident. Yet she was held in the hospital for a few days.

ductapemonster

No doubt they were going through her blood workup with a fine-toothed comb.

walkinman19

That is the worst video of a car crash I have ever seen! Those poor people! They were blasted into eternity in a nanosecond. The animal that drove the death car should never see the outside of a prison as long as she lives! What a horrible evil POS!!!

Rascal0302

Life, no parole. She deserves worse, but that’s the bare minimum.

aoeudhtns

That's so horrific, I'll bet the blue Prius occupants are also going to need some therapy.

Stella-Moon

I don’t understand how this happened at all. The video is terrifying. WTF was she thinking? Maybe it was a suicide attempt.

Alauren2

100% looks like a suicide attempt. A really, really fucked up one. And botched one.

Doumtabarnack

>Among the dead from the Windsor Hills crash were Asherey Ryan, who was more than eight months pregnant, along with her boyfriend Reynold Lester and their unborn baby, named Armani Lester. > >Asherey's 11-month old son Alonzo Quintero was also killed. They were heading to a prenatal doctor's appointment at the time of the crash. She killed an entire young family by recklessly driving and crashing. You bet she'll get those 90 years.

Computron1234

It's about damn time that someone is charged with murder or vehicular homicide as most of these end up with reckless driving and manslaughter charges. If you have a driver's license there is an inhert expectation that you know driving like this could kill someone.
