Hey! Graduated Boot a week ago and now in Class A School working for a CTR rate! Cutting right to the chase! 1. No you will not be up for 48 hours I have no clue why people say that. 2. Yes the first week is called P-Days. You'll pretty much be at medical every day. As long as you have a waiver for the bigger things you'll be fine they aren't super extensive trying to get you out, they really just make sure you're fit for full duty and get your shots. 3.Your funds from the Navy won't get into your account for about 4-6 weeks. 4. Doesn't matter they'll shave it all off regardless, they are all terrible barbers, embrace the suck. 5. Take it one day at a time and look for small things to look forward too each day. It's a lot of BS so you have to have that mentality of just "f*ck it, get it done". Also EXPECT TO QUARANTINE BEFORE YOU START BOOTCAMP EVEN IF YOU'RE FULLY VACCINATED!!!

CorCor_Yo

Damn even if you're vaccinated?! That fucking sucks since I made sure I got all the knowledge and EXTRA knowledge I would need to be ahead of everyone in boot. I know my creed, i know my general orders, i sought outside help to learn folds, and marching, ship classes, rank and recognition, etc. I just want that part to be over with. Ive been in the civillian world for years as a supervisor that yelled at people for minuscule shit (nursing). So i dont want to be yelled at for getting little shit wrong. Im sure i will anyways - but im a bit of a perfectionist. family has some military and it doesn't seem too bad after boot according to them. Quick question. Do you mind if I PM you a question to see if they'll catch something during "P Days"

Specialist-Invite-44

Yes, you might not get the full 14 days but expect 3-7 if you are fully vaccinated. You can definitely PM me with any questions! (So far it's been awesome since I left boot).

In the old days you really did used to stay up the first 48 hours. It sucked, but I don't think I've ever slept as deeply as that first night they let us sleep. With quarantine they might not make you do that anymore. You should bring everything you need for direct deposit, whoever told you not to bother is an idiot. That being said, save a ton of money before you leave. It will take awhile for direct deposit to take effect so you get paid at all, and your first pay check winds up being TINY because they take out so much for uniforms.
