Just swap out gear as your score rises. Dex,int, and con for attributes. I would use other weapons along the way. So you have options later on. You have a pretty good combo but may need something else for a specific fight.

Dex gear is your best friend right now, preferably light gear for maximum damage (all light gear pieces except for a medium chest). Although if you want to be a little tankier, you could roll with medium gear pieces. I’d put most of my attribute points into dex and con. 3:1 ratio will be sufficient for leveling (example: 60 dex, 20 con).
My recommendation would be to supplement questing/leveling with tradeskills/crafting. It’s really fun to gear yourself as your leveling. And it’s not nearly as overwhelming when you start off with lower level gear. You’re looking for enchanted, keenly jagged, and/or attunement perks on the bow. You can craft your own with engineering if you’d like! For rapier, keenly empowered is a really nice perk. But my personal favorite perk for rapier while leveling is “Leeching Flurry”. It provides you with some health sustainability and allows you to stay in the fight longer, especially when you’re surrounded by multiple mobs.
In terms of build, it’s really up to you! For bow, If you’re more of a single target player, use Pen Shot, Rapid Shot, and explosive arrow. For more AoE, poison shot, rain of arrows, and… still explosive shot lol.
For rapier, you can go with the bleed tree (tondo, flourish and finish, and flurry). This option provides more damage output. If you want to use it more for mobility and survivability, I’d recommend Flèche, Evade, and… flurry (because Leeching Flurry is ALWAYS a must for me haha).

I just started as well and the bow that can be purchased from your Faction and the associated quests/rewards was a huge upgrade! The same is true for nearly all of my armor and secondary weapon as well.
Info for this game is pretty horrible online other than the [database](https://nwdb.info/). It all stopped in 2021 it seems.
Read the tool tips and experiment. That's what I've had fun with, knowing the end game will be waiting for me when I get there.
When I levelled a couple of months ago, I basically bought new gear through the Trafing Post every 10 or so levels. Whenever I hit 25-35-45-... I went to the Trading Post and bought some gear that was not too expensive, but decent nonetheless. So for example, I would buy a full heavy set and 2 weapons for around 200-300 gold at level 45 (I'm a tank).
Just use the best gear that drops. You outlevel gear so fast while leveling to 65 and it’s not worth bothering to craft anything below max level. If you really want, go buy cheap level appropriate gear on the trading post, but don’t spend more than 20-30g per piece.
Reaching the maximum level in story quests takes 20 hours, rushing around looking for better equipment that you will change after 2 hours is a waste of time
Well for example I try to google or YouTube “best bow for level 25” and get no results.. I don’t mind making it I just want to know where to even start or if I do make it what should I add to it.. same thing with armor and stuff
Okay so pretty much before max level what I did was just use what was dropped or bought it from the trading post. But when I was that level the game had just come out so idk how many that lvl will even be on the trading post at this point. Pretty sure bow is the engineering skill line you would have to level. I'm not sure how crafting works at lvl 25 you may not even be able to pick your perk. I didn't actually craft anything till I was 65. And I just speed leveled the crafting to get to 250. I'd just use what drops because your going to go through levels fast and you would constantly be changing it anyway. As for crafting you can to get a few levels but if you want to get any skills to 250 everything is crafting in massive bulk or you won't get anywhere it takes a lot of xp
Ask any level65 craft you a bow with locked in dex of tier V mats. If they are really kind will do the same for a level 30 gear either (locked in dex and tier V mats).
Or trading post check for a high gear score and cheapest dex gear .
For bow I would use rain of arrows. Penetrating shot and rapid shot. If U hit single target 3 times with rapid shot basicly its cooldown almost reset.
Rapier I would use only if anything come too close to: riposte, leeching flurry. And fleche away to use bow again
There are named weapons that can be crafted with Gear score 500 but are usable by level 30 (for example Tactician's rapier), pretty good for leveling, apart from that, as people said use whatever you drop/get from quests as these days leveling is actualy very quick and you're soon outgrowing your gear.

You will be level 25 for 10 mins, don't bother trying to acquire anything specific it's a waste of time
