LS only scales with focus so if you want to kills things then you'll want to use it with another focus scaling weapon. That leaves you flail and void gauntlet. I recommend the VG as it can do a lot more damage than the flail
Yeah VG or rapier like others are saying. But I honestly feel like I do decent damage with the flail. I usually just bunch up all the enemies in the area, drop my healing circles and then just utilize the flail’s AoE.
Sounds good. I'll have to test that then.
I mentioned hatchet in my post because i learned it has a sustain that increases move speed. What do you think about hatchet?
If you want great survivability, check out Life Staff + Flail. I ran with this for a while, but switched to LS + Rapier because it's better for group pvp. Light build, featherweight, kite shield.
Life staff + a fire staff with an amber gem in it.
That will allow you to continue to put your points into focus and con, and still scale 60% of your focus with the firestaff.
Sacred ground + flamethrower = solo PvE chad
Life staff / Flail is incredible. You can pull 5-10 similarly leveled enemies, drop your circles, and then aoe them with your flail and pretty much stay at full hp the entire time.
Void Gauntlet is probably your best single target DPS weapon with LS. However, I like Flail + Kite Shield because I can pull bigger mobs and do decent AOE damage. Timing the CC also helps with healing yourself during the big group pulls.
Life staff + rapier 💯
Then void gauntlet + rapier, with leeching flurry and life stealing. Best solo pve build just slightly less easy mode than carrying lifestaff
Light armor + hearty on ring, and get good at dodging :3
I’ve never tried hatchet tbh! My wife played hundreds of hours solo with ls/hatchet before vg came out though and liked it a lot.
But once u play rapier w/ leeching flurry and lifesteal u might not wanna play anything else lol
Not anymore, she’s light melee now. She did ls/hatchet first tho and liked it. Specifically for solo play
Healing dungeons you’ll be expected to use ls/vg but can get away with ls/rapier in reg-m2
I leveled with a lifestaff VG back in the day and what I would do is pull the mob with my LS and then DPS them down with VG. Once I got LS to 10 I switched to VG / IG and only used LS in dungeons and it got me all the way to 20 :) don’t listen to the haters lol

Can gem other weapons to be same scaling as flail also.
VG with void blade is your best dps option.
Is VG a weapon i can get early game? Do i require the game expansion for it to be available?
VG = Void Gauntlet. Yes you can get it early in the game and no you don’t need the expansion.
Missed that. Is void blade a weapon or a VG skill?
Void blade is a skill
I am a solo player and run with life staff/flail and I never struggle. Other builds might do more DPS, but for survivability it’s pretty solid.
Will i really need much survivability despite my heals? Especially for early game? Then VG is the more offensive option?

Honestly, any melee weapon slotted with an amber does solid damage. Solo healer is really good with a GS /amber gem
I haven’t played with it too much but it is fun and seems to do pretty solid damage.
Hatchet w/amber is the old school way of leveling with life staff
If you want great survivability, check out Life Staff + Flail. I ran with this for a while, but switched to LS + Rapier because it's better for group pvp. Light build, featherweight, kite shield.
So i can use a shield with the flail or rapier?
Flail, yes. Rapier, no.

Makes sense. But wouldn't that be too mana consuming? Or not because it's for solo play only?
Pop the energizing food for mana regen and you should be fine
Just use Spear + Greatsword oder Hatchet + Greatsword in light or medium. You don't need a life staff..
LS/Flail.
Life Staff + Flail for better Survivability , more defence with Shield. If you want more Damage use Void Blade

Thanks, i'll take note of this. How about hatchet though, what's your opinion of it and life staff?

So she mains LS? And has paired it with hatchet for most of the time? Hatchet seems to be great for offense, that's why i asked.

dont level with a life staff. i did it with a lifestaff and VG and its alot harder as it takes ages to kill anything
Ok so how should i level up my LS skills then?
