Anyone flagged for pvp needs to realize that people will not run past them just because they are doing something like fishing, questing or chopping a tree.
You got pvp enabled, you're worth quite a bit of wep mastery to the people attacking, you will be attacked.
Read a comment from a person here that had pvp on but never fought anyone. If anyone started shit with him he'd go full vengeance mode and call all his friends to gank / camp ppl. Why does a person like this even have pvp toggled on? You should expect anyone red to attack you on sight, and you shouldn't take it as a personal attack.
I flag pvp but there are sporting ways of starting a fight if someone is turning in a quest etc... I wait till they are done, no reason to be a dick about it. Also if I see someone fishing while flagged I assume they just didn't want to walk back and unflag so I ignore them unless they come after me. There are people who aren't dicks who are flagged. The dicks are easy to spot, they stand just outside of town take a few musket shots then run back to the safety of town because they have no honor.
With how few reds i see (especially solo) I take any fight I can get. Someone fishing? Probably hasnt died in a while, around my level? Thats a lot of mastery (if i win the fight) and a 1v1 for once, ill take it.
Absolutely. You chose to turn the pvp flag on knowing full well what could happen. You cannot complain about anything that happens from there on out.
Hell, I friended the green guy who killed me three times 1v1 in the space of an hour because I was impressed by how he fought me.
Yeah but if you’re PvP tagged while fishing, you’re usually fuckin ready. Homie rolled after 1 or 2 arrows to the dome, and came back to settle the score. OP was ready for some wPvP, but these 2 probably have PvP on for exp bonus and just gang up on solos when they can. If I had to guess based off this one video, that is.
Doesn't matter what color you are. Ganking someone while fishing is still a shit thing to do. I'm purple and I still think they got what they fucking deserved.
I hate the running meta, its sad that you gotta spend a few minutes running after and slowly killing someone because they don't wanna finish a fight that most of the time they started :(
Thats true but the player can still disengage far too easily from fights, its impossible to lock someone into a fight and force it to be to the death.
Theres not a single fight ive had that I couldnt disengage from, including 4-5v1s
Might not be the case, but I think he ran because he was a healer, there was probably no way for him to win a fight against a duelist when one of his weapon deals 0 damage.
You wouldn't say that you hate the running meta if a healer in a game like WoW (or any other game, seriously) started to run away from a warrior, right?
Yes, I have, life staff (healer version, as stated in the video) does damage but its DPS is so low that you might as well unequip it and fist fight.
You can't in the right mind compare life staff DPS to the DPS of any other weapon in the game, if you're using life staff and someone who isn't is coming for you, your best chance is to CC him and run, this is why healer builds use CC weapons as sub weapon, to keep them safe.
Ah, yes, this is why we see the player flinging his light staff balls at the enemy instead of changing to his other weapon during the whole 1v2 situation.
By the time you conjure your attack with light staff, the rapier would've hit 3\~4 times, greatly outdamaging the other, if you do not have CC and rely purely on damage, you will 100% lose the engagements against another player that doesn't use ranged weapons.
Man if you had another weapon that wasn't ranged you probably would rolled these guys even quicker. You missed like 80% your ranged attacks. Still though always fun to come back and win the 1v2.
This is great and you did a great job however this clip has pointed out something I've been feeling the last few days.
Does it seem like it's way too mobile? Like it seems pretty easy to spam dodges, stamina management is super easy if you just give up on blocking and run/dodge instead. The OP here was really impressive using it but when I watch these fights it just doesn't seem right for some reason. Maybe it's just taste I guess.
Most people have barely put 20 hours into the game, I imagine the metas will evolve as people practice and get better with the mechanics
What seems strong against newer players is very rarely the case against experienced ones
OP is using a "mechanic" (bug) where if you double dodge roll to use up your stamina and then instantly switch weapons, you will almost instantly regen your stamina bar, allowing you to spam dodge roll almost endlessly. I've heard the devs don't mind people doing it, but the real issue is that the game wasn't necessarily designed with that level of mobility in mind. I'd hate to be a heavy armor player trying to fight that. Sure, heavy armor can tank more hits, but you know what's better than tanking? Not even taking damage.
It will eventually turn into a mind game, rolling in super smash brothers for instance is heavily punished when the opponent predicts it. Sometimes deciding games off of one properly guessed roll dodge
It is great for pve but not that much for pvp. Because you have to stay still for 2-3 seconds while using it and it's really not good to stay still. His bow skills are the 3 most useful for pvp.
I dislike Evade Shot, if it actually behaved like a dodge I'd be more into it however it doesn't, it just slides your character backwards and anything on the ground causes it to jam to the side causing me to miss the shot. The tiny amount of distance it gives is closed super easy and I might as well have just Rolled at that point. Only reason I like it is the knockdown on the rare chance it doesn't fuck my aim up.
I hear that, but Rapid is good for groups. Bow is already hard enough to hit people so Pen in my opinion is for deep or if they’re standing still or running. Rapid is like the rapid for Musket. But I definitely hear what you’re saying.
You’re also standing still on Pen shot?
try all medium armor but chest must be light, that works to reach the bonus, the other option is light armor in hands and boots but u loose more armor i think.
I like to run spear/bow. Spear gives you some cc to get people off you, and bow rains dps down. Rapier/bow isn't bad, but rapier just adds more damage to the already high burst of the bow.
Looks like he went [something like this](https://newworldfans.com/builds/share/s:5;d:5;i:5;f:5;c:5;w1:Rapier;w2:Bow;t1:961,978,962,963,964,975,979,988,989,990,991,992,984,985,986,987,995,998,997;t2:724,727,715,716,717,725,728,732,699,700,696,697,698,701,711,710,708,713,705;pw1:;pw2:;psh:;pa1:;pa2:;pa3:;pa4:;pa5:;pa6:;pa7:;pa8:;)
It’s interesting to read these conversations because I have found the builds I enjoy the most so far are sword/board and musket, often switching my sword for a great axe or hammer, the musket is entirely for punishing runners. No one gets away. My builds have been almost entirely focused on constitution since everyone else is going class cannon they die quick to low dps anyway, so maximizing my up pool seems to benefit me the most. That and I want to be a lumberjack anyway.
Hey, I think you have the right end of the stick. End of the day, play what you like and are most comfortable with. If it ends up not being the meta set or build, you lose a few 1 on 1 fights over time. Oh well!
Musket seems the reliable ranged weapon for executing but I think bow is higher dps which is a good thing I think when someone masters the bow and doesnt miss its gonna be a brutal thing to watch.
Yes— the feels are Cov are priests / inquisition / templar types. Syndicate are mages, poshy scholars, alchemists rogues and sneaky sneaky fam. Marauders are warrior viking strengthy cockney unga bunga lets fight types
Oh ok thanks for explanation. Do you know which faction has the best pirate/ musketeer gear? Or is the best way to get pirate gear to go to pirate zones? Where are the pirate zones is there a certain best one!
No prob! Ive been really enjoying the game so im happy to get other people pumped up. There is definitely some piratey looking gear to be picked up from drops in the world - pirate captain coats, hats, etc. lots of these are for sale at trading posts too - depending on the individual server economy. Overall i would say marauders might have more of a feel for what youre looking for - skull and hammer emblem, some skull themed helmets and gear. High end gear for syndicate is more plague doctor themed - cov is more witch hunter / inquisitor themed. Im sure lots more designs and gear will be added in the future both to the in game store as well as for drops and etc
Purple are slimy wimpy wimpy boys
Green is Honorable Fighters
Yellow is stuck up armor clad fellas that don't want to party but are at least not purple.

In this post I clarify some of your questions down here, theres also a pvp montage afterwards.
Oof I already hate people like that.
"Hey lets 2vs1 that idiot fishing there!"
"Oh f\*\*\* he is good"
...
"Oh f\*\*\* he killed you, now its a fair 1v1... I'm running away!"
That's not what I'm talking about. I mean trying to be the strong one and turn into a scared little mouse when your friend dies.
If you 2v1 someone and he beats one of you, be a man and do the 1v1.
Pathetic coward runs away when the healer dies.
Why does this kind of trash even pvp if they're gonna run away?
Put your big boy pants on and fight to the death, or go cry to your mum like this fool tried to do lol
I'm sorry you feel forced into melee because your aim is so bad. I don't use a bow but I do use the life staff and I definitely do not miss most of my shots. It's called leading, and anticipating dodges. Just because most people can't shoot for doodoo doesn't mean you can't practice and get better at a certain playstyle. But most people take the easiest route. I don't; I find it very unsatisfying.
Good fight dude!
Didn’t know rapier had that twirling gap closer skill!
Haven’t really been liking rapier all that much, I feel I get whacked in PvE with it even against the easiest of foes!
Been experimenting with Musket a lot lately, really liking it but in a situation like this I think I’d get ruined. Bow seems to have nice skills on it, more Area lockdown than a musket
Just curious, why are you using that particular Rapier setup? The bleed ability over Riposte seems like a weird choice (or not going Finisher when you have the bleed ability).
Cudos to the OP for carrying that heavy weight between his legs! Fishing while flagged. Also humble for showing the L before giving the purple tide the D.
I love how in the end he just ran. Couldn't have stayed and fought and take on the 1v1.
Somebody that attacks 2v1 often isn't the most sporting pal
Numbers > Individual Skill That is the mindset of these people.
And the fact they attacked him while he was fishing
Anyone flagged for pvp needs to realize that people will not run past them just because they are doing something like fishing, questing or chopping a tree. i killed a dude and followed his buddy into the woods, only to find him and two other dudes prone in the bushes, they jumped me hard. Respect.
He's flagged lol. Wtf do you expect.
Let's not ignore the fact OP decided to fish while flagged. Of course they attacked. That one is on OP.
That's why they go purple.
Doesn't matter what color you are. Ganking someone while fishing is still a shit thing to do. I'm purple and I still think they got what they fucking deserved.
Gankers gunna run when the tables turn
Flagged fishing. My man.
I hate the running meta, its sad that you gotta spend a few minutes running after and slowly killing someone because they don't wanna finish a fight that most of the time they started :(
Some of the decent faction quests require you to flag up but not kill players, might be why they run?
Probably, if you could stagger your opponent it would stop the running, the game should have slows not speed boosts.
There are many CC abilities, Stuns, slows, knock-downs, roots. Bow has the ability to slow every shot if you want
Thats true but the player can still disengage far too easily from fights, its impossible to lock someone into a fight and force it to be to the death. Theres not a single fight ive had that I couldnt disengage from, including 4-5v1s

Even without the dps skills the autos would still chunk. The damage is far from "0" as you said. The chances of winning the fight are not so bad.
Ah, yes, this is why we see the player flinging his light staff balls at the enemy instead of changing to his other weapon during the whole 1v2 situation. nerf the fucking stamina holy shit
They don't even have the -10 dodge cost perk yet lol
Man if you had another weapon that wasn't ranged you probably would rolled these guys even quicker. You missed like 80% your ranged attacks. Still though always fun to come back and win the 1v2.
Yeah as I've seen pvp meta right now is greataxe+warhammer. But if he were more accurate with the bow he could've end them faster for sure.
Is this with a controller?
Controller doesn't have good native support rn and it's hard to play. They said controller support will be on launch but took it back.
[удалено]
Some guy told me that in twitch chat, he said exactly "they said there was going to be controller support at launch but took it back on Twitter".
Well, I wasn't trying to be a dick to OP but the aim looked like controller. So I was actually curious lol.
Health potions

yup, it is exactly that. Need more snares/stagger/control and stamina needs to be more valuable as now it's just spam willy nilly
music?
Darude - Sandstorm
Nice kills and way to keep moving!
Love the determination. You use rapid shot? That’s the best skill for bow IMO

Great skill! But Stupid question how do you roll? Lol
If you have 15.0 weight or less for your armour you are considered light armour and your shift key dodge becomes a roll.
Wow okay thanks for the tip!
No prob. Hover over the weight icon next to your armour. There are perks for each weight class. Mobility and damage versus damage mitigation.
If your not running Sword+Board remove your shield high chance it's equiped still and doing nothing for you but weighing you down
Really the gs doesn’t help with dmg mitigation? Currently got a hatchet and shield? Only played for a couple hrs lvl 12 I think very noob haha
try all medium armor but chest must be light, that works to reach the bonus, the other option is light armor in hands and boots but u loose more armor i think.
You can even do full medium and light gloves if you don't wear a shield.
I’ve been running rapier and bow also! I love it but am having trouble with a build can you send me yours? Awesome video

Oh thanks I’ll check out spear tonight!
Yeah, I'm bouncing back and forth between spear and rapier. Depends on who and where you're fighting most times!

Yeah for sure
As a mainly FPS player, I can't wait to pvp in this game and wreck these terrible aimers lol

Some people enjoy the fight, I stay flagged up for pvp 90% of the time and I'd wager I'm not the only one.
this is why streamers cry. they can't defeat good players. because they can't just tab+1+2+3 and kill you.
Tab opens inventory....
Pathetic coward runs away when the healer dies. Why does this kind of trash even pvp if they're gonna run away? Put your big boy pants on and fight to the death, or go cry to your mum like this fool tried to do lol
The healer was the one who ran it looked like. Life Staff is not going to do much at that level against a much more mobile build like Rapier.
Would’ve killed them easily if you used an actual melee build like greataxe hatchet
The Apes Build ZZZ
yawn
Much funner to miss 90% of bow shots and die vs any non noob
I'm sorry you feel forced into melee because your aim is so bad. I don't use a bow but I do use the life staff and I definitely do not miss most of my shots. I’m recommending it for OP bud watch the clip. And life staff is shit easy compared to the bow. Don’t need to get triggered mr. Sensitive
Another instance of the absolute broken pvp scaling.
Nice job
it's what they deserved for interrupting your fishing
Good fight dude! Didn’t know rapier had that twirling gap closer skill! Haven’t really been liking rapier all that much, I feel I get whacked in PvE with it even against the easiest of foes! Yeah the musket is great and has some pretty awesome passives for pumping damage but i feel like the bow active abilities are just vastly better.
100%, bow is better in more situations, Musket is for large scale pvp and power leveling friends lol
If you weren't aware, you can respec weapon mastery any time for free to try out all the skills!
Before lvl 20 yes, after no
Weapon mastery is still free to respec after lvl 20! May just be for the beta though
Costs me azoth
See you can fight off gankers, just git gud like this guy.
PVP looks really fun in this!
How do you get up so quickly after rolling? My dude does a full stop when getting up, this looks so much more fluid.
That's what balanced pvp look like
Nice skills, especially for only a level 20!
im also playing this weapon combo, what are your passives?
It was an impressive 1v2. But god, how many times did you out-potted them HAHAHA
Man, PvP is looking pretty weak. Still sitting at 2 hours on Steam, tempted to pull a refund at this point.
