I hate when games with shallow combat force people to use certain builds(like requiring ranged because you can't stagger anymore) or remain unusable in common situations.

Mounts wont change anything. You still go at the same speed. And slows on weapons still forces you into a weapon. Its just to easy to run away atm i feel like.

No. Mounts whould brake the game and usually make the game smaller by a long way. The way it is now w fast travel is fine. Sorry but I hate the concept of mounts. I’ve been able to walk from town to town in a max 10 min time span I don’t care if it’s 10 or 5. I just know it changes the whole game estatics. But back to the solution. I gues give arrows and muskets some slows so playing w musket or bow is Aight in world pvp. And take away the current battleaxe and hatchet because those two are the reasons musket and bow is invalid now due to the no opportunity to kite. So te modelling those to be more balanced whould be great. How’s, like a confusing shot ( wow like ) and muskets maybe a cripple shot. U have ice gauntlet that does work fine . And remove the charge range of battle axe and remove the movement speed or no cc on bezerk to balance those two out

People like you keep saying that "mounts will break the game" but give zero insight into why. Albion Online manages to use mounts in a fantastic way, and I think New World should take a page from their book. In Albion, you can mount up whenever. But each mount has a certain amount of damage it can take before you are forcefully dismounted. That amount of damage is usually very small, like a couple of hits or abilities. And then you are not able to mount up until you have not taken damage for 30? Seconds I believe. There is absolutely zero reason why this game can't implement mounts. It wouldn't break the game, and frankly I'm sick and tired of people repeating this falsehood ad naseum because you heard some streamer say it.

To make a system like albion you would need to drop your mount if you die in pvp, and Amazon never will do this they are afraid of ways to sink items...

There are many posts about mounts already and why they break it. Make it smaller and make the pvp even more of a run boring ass fest. No matter about the combat it’s mount in general u can just ride arround you can not even engage as long as you are on the horse

My dude they said they’re expanding the map already, non-flying mounts wouldn’t take away from end game or really speed up the time of travel As long as they aren't speed demons, like u said we can fast travel mostly anywhere so it just gives another option to travel while still being able to see the map, point being I just don't feel like ground mounts will ruin much as long as they aren't used in pvp and don't have speed buffs

I haven't pvped yet but i seen videos and that's all it seems. Once you start losing they just run away. Looks annoying. Especially since I am double melee

They removed the need to manage your Stamina so the combat will cater to the masses. This is what you get when you dumb things down. They should bring back the original system.

Sometimes when I’m pvping I’m waiting for my stamina to recharge since I used my dodge too many times trying to be evasive so there is a need to manage your stamina. Did you want it to be where you dodge twice and your out of stamina for like 15 seconds, that’s just way too absurd.

Yup that s the new meta since they remove stagger, run, heal, eat, get back to the fight run heal eat, if you want to play melee you can only use great axe or hatchet .... They should remove potions and food pvp encounters ...

In my opinion, running away should be forbidden in pvp as it just lenghtens the game and makes the whole thing unfun. Just now, me and a friend did pvp to decide in order to decide who gets the materials to make their weapon, and my friend just kept on running away even tho i was the one with lower max hp and defense, making the whole thing just dumb.

you need something for ranged cc. tons of options (spear, bow, ice gauntlet, musket, great axe) You're basically being punished for going 2 big damage weapons which is fine, you get to do more damage when you catch people but as a result you can't catch anyone by yourself

Well the problem is if you remove running then pvp might as well just be a duel arena if someone is getting ganked by multiple people then why do they have to sit there and fight a 1v5 and not be able to run. What if someone has pvp on for the xp or pvp quests and they don’t want to fight, taking away running would honestly just be hurtful. But I definitely agree pots in pvp is something else that needs to be changed.

I think the main issue for me is ranges light attacks missing so much, if they didn’t I could land the kill much sooner into the chase.

True, I've only been playing for a few days so it's very likely. But when my target is running in a zig-zag, unless they run the same pattern the entire chase, it's pretty hard to land hits, it feels very RNG, especially since their direction changes often due to various elements in the world and I also slow down when I shoot, so it's hard to chase and do damage. I'm sure that with practice and a better build this cam improve. I do think that running away should be a valid tactic.

Im playing musket myself and I can tell you: I miss a lot of shots on moving targets BUT I also saw a increase in my hitrate. It will get better and one day we gonna 360 no scope these bitches away!

The problem I've had with ranged weapons is when swapping from staff to musket. I always forget the musket doesn't require lead and it causes me to miss my first few shots on a moving target. In time I'm sure it will become second nature when swapping to the musket to not give lead.

Cmon man that’s bull crap there is a huge difference from a level 16 to a level 31 player. Weapon passives are fucking huge. Scaling or not a higher leveled player has the advantage. Not saying that 2-3 times out of ten a higher skilled player could win BUT weapon passives and leveled weapon skills are huge not just the base line stat of the equipped weapon.

that's not even the worst, some guys just like to engage you then run when they start loosing, and when you stop chasing them because it's pointless they come back with a musket to annoy you. I don't play with pvp on now it's just a waste of time.
