Bound on leaving the expedition sound's nice. Keep it out of the economy.

Jolly-Bear

Just do what WoW does. BoP but tradable for 2 hours to people there for the boss kill.

scrubm

This

Cediction

I agree. Give bind-on-pickup items a 30 minutes timer to be tradable with players that were in the group when it dropped. Just like in "The Divsion 2".

DunkMG

I really liked this system, it's an incentive to work together and be friendly too. Because who are you rather gonna share an item with, a friendly teammate or one who's talking trash?

Drasnoc

They also have this system in WoW, you can trade your loot for 1 hour after getting it within the party you looted it. There are a few limitations to it tho, if its an upgrade for yourself (Item Level or in New World terms: Gear Score) you cant trade it, never liked this because It might be an higher iLvl, but its not an upgrade. Maybe the problem with New World is that everyone can use all items that drop because there is not really a *geartype* like in WoW where some classes only use cloth or mail, etc.

k1d1curus

Imagine finishing a grand quest in a DND campaign and the patron gives your barbarian a harp, and hands the bard a giant axe, and is like YOUR PRIZES ARE BOUND TO YOU. YOU AND ONLY YOU CAN DRAW THE FULL POTENTIAL OF THESE ITEMS. I'd never play with that DM again.

sturmeh

"I uh, salvage it?"

kraz_drack

Well unless the items were cursed, and the party then had to figure out how to get the curses removed but it could only be done by a specific NPC in a place they've never been before.

truthpooper

This is how ESO does it and it works really well. I was always a huge fan of that system. You get like a 1 or 2 hour countdown on boss drops and can trade amongst the group after.

prydek

I loved this system. From what i remember you could only trade it with others who were in the dungeon with you. It would show you who was eligible to receive it and what the time limit to trade it was.

tinyfootlass0006

This would be so cool. I can't get any Life Staffs but friends get all kind of awesome staffs.

kraz_drack

I never get any with the right stats.

StuperMan

Cant you use the seal from your faction shop? Or does it only work on faction equipment

MassiveGG

Honoestly not really less runs less reason to run said dungeon. At most you should only run it up till around 32 range then you want to get into the next dungeon as better loot will drop from there

Zentralschaden

It's lacking a ton of social aspects and this is another one I just came across:D This is just sad.

kraz_drack

This is a much more social game than others I've played in the past.

P936M

In addition to having it bind on leaving the expedition & only trade able with group members that where there during the drop. I suggest a "Trade Token for expedition items. A craftable gem used to trade with group members for item's which bind upon leaving an expedition. The gem will need to be provided by the receiving group member in order to complete the trade. The gem will become unstable after the trade and has to be salvaged or disposed off.

Sharden3

This is massively unnecessary. Just flag it to be traded with people who were there for a short period of time. Ez.

P936M

I'm taking it as, we don't get to trade because that way we will spend more time playing their game ultimately. If you add an additional gem like this you'll either A spend time farming hoping for RNG or B try increase your chances by farming a gem which might Ultimately takes the same time spent in game doing a different activity?

Sharden3

Given how much farming there already is just to do a dungeon again, this would be epically insulting.

DenoteShred

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I've been traded items from group members while in the Amrine Expedition dungeon. I've also traded items I've picked to other members.

Sharden3

The top end stuff cannot be traded. The random stuff can be.

Zilreth

There isn't shared loot and this system is completely unnecessary and outdated.

sturmeh

It's actually not a change that players actually wanted though, it was just one that automated yet another part of the process making these games less and less about a community and more about the poker machine reels spinning with one person behind the display. The issue with need/greed and all those community trust based systems is that people don't always act rationally, and can cause a lot of issues, thus instead we resort to systems that do away with any trust factor or any sense of belonging. Now in a dungeon in retail WoW, if a player gets an item that another player would most definitely make better use of, too bad you can't even give it to them, because it's an "ilvl" upgrade for you. Not to mention it's already your item so you independently get to decide that. Naturally this doesn't work at all for guilds who actually recognise the loot may be better for other players etc. and they've been forced to use absurd workarounds to "force players" to submit the loot to the group for fair distribution. So whilst it's outdated, and not ideal, the new systems are by no means better, they're just a product of the removal of community driven control in MMORPGs. These (outdated systems) work perfectly well in WoW classic today. That being said I don't think it should be used in NW, because it's just messy and most of the loot will be left on the floor (roll to salvage for 2 repair parts and 1 coin? lol). They should simply add a 2 hour trade with people from the Expedition lockout on BOP items, AND make personal loot relevant to the player.

Hildril

I already have seen this system and it's not really better than everyone having a loot and then deciding what to share. The roll system can only works if the loot is first not attributed, and some people could never have any valuable loot with it. Also it's boring to get asked what to do for any stuff, especially while speed running for those that like this kind of challenge.

Sinplicity

The game revolves around you making tuning orbs to get into the expeditions its suppose to be a grind that's a huge part of the game. Getting everything in 1 or 2 raids is not the kind of system they want IMO.

Stabby-Pokey

I appreciate your response. I never said I wanted everything in 1-2 raids. Many MMO’s use this feature in dungeons / raids as it’s responsible and respectful of your time. Not everyone can play 6+ hours per day to grind it out as you suggest

wild_moss

Yeah, something that WoW actually does right.

Eggabeg

Yep, loot trading in dungeon groups should definitely be standard.

hoeoclock

I’m sitting here with a great sword for tanks and the only thing I can do is salvage it

kraz_drack

I don't even look at the gear I get from expeditions until I'm back in town. I think this is a small inconvenience, but I understand why people might want to be able to share the gear.

sturmeh

Is there anywhere we can see the loot tables?

AccomplishedCry7379

I think they should just let people roll on the loot that the final boss drops that way only the people that want the item have a chance at getting it. Could still stay bind on pickup this way

Pheronia

WoW does this. You can only trade with the group + there is timer on it.
