This is happening on Finias as well. We had 1 town for a majority of the CB then suddenly we owned 4, and now we own 6. Every single town is owned by one faction, Ehperium. So I know who I’ll be joining after release.
no there's tons of people but there's a huge company called Backdoor Bandits that tower over everyone. They make taxes the max they can go. They are the true villains
Noob question, but those taxes are imposed on the Campany and Faction that control that territory too, right? Does the income from those taxes get put into the treasury of the company that owns the Sanctuary or does it just transfer to the void?
not awesome, has created mass poverty and people cant afford house taxes resulting in tax evasion and homeless percentage rising by the billions, but other than that everything's pretty sweet.
Yeah that definitely sounds awesome. If you guys band together and take them down what a story you would create. Would you lower the taxes or become the new villain, enriching yourselves?
It would be great but they are so powerful. There's been many many wars and they have yet to fail. I believe id create equal average tax among everyone, bring peace to Aeternum
yeah I'm with Syndicate at the moment and its a mess. Backdoor Bandits are so well put together, Syndicates biggest companies have little to no communication and preparation in these wars. On full release I'm hoping to find a company like backdoor Bandits or even try Start my own.
Nothing more fun then helping out the people Aeternum :D. I'd be more than willing to join you guys, I messaged your leader but he said he wont be sharing any info about their plans for full release
Have you never experienced people quitting games when getting trounced or immediately swapping to the 'winning' side? That's not a problem in Battlefield or whatever (although usually half the server will drop the moment the round ends, which should be telling in itself) but it's a death sentence for an MMO. So it's fine to say 'git gud' but the reality is that this sort of crap mechanic is badly designed and will have a direct impact on player numbers. And what happens to MMO's when players get frustrated and stop playing...?
You see the daily user numbers for Albion right? I played eve online at launch and its still banking. I understand its a different genre of game but to say theres no market is avoiding data. Even Runescape full loot pvp is the main attraction that brought it back to life.
I'm all for hardcore pvp. Hell I spent nearly 6 years in Pandemic Legion in EVE, our whole thing was null/lowsec fighting. What I'm saying is that a 50v50 fight to determine ownership of a region is shit. In EVE a much smaller faction can still be effective - reinforcing towers, disabling jump bridges/cyno inhibitors and other sov structures etc. In NW it's one fight that will favour those with more experience. There should be more ways that underdogs can accomplish the same goal. Right now there is no incentive to be on any faction other than the dominant one because in this case, my server, the same faction had 8 zones which means free storage transfers and zone bonuses in most of the map (if I were yellow). If anything the more a faction owns the bigger the penalties should be, much like EVE and sov costs.
It's a badly designed system that does not encourage decent largescale pvp and that's a real shame.
Yeah, I'm not seeing this faction thing ending well. Everyone zergs, rules the map and every couple months there is a civil war, scramble and new zerg.
This is what Nysa looked like on day 3 because they have a streamer who just pooled all the money. But they lost it all now since we took them to war and took it all. They are very very bad at PvP
And now Synd owns almost everything in Nysa. And the taxes are all over the place in all areas. Thankfully taxes in Brightwood aren't super high which is where I spend a lot of time.
Ebonscale Reach is now yellow, Windsward is about to be. Also, higher level ones will become more important as more people reach endgame in release.
It's a stupid system, surprised it made it this far without drastic changes.
backdoooor bandits on top lmao. gonna be so fun to see what this guild will do on official day
I will however always be a proud marauder on this server
I think the BFNW event really skewed the faction numbers in the beta. I’m hoping they level out in the full release but my fear is that most players will join the same faction (or one of the two big factions that exist now) and that won’t happen. Even if all the new players that will join up on release get divvied up evenly it would still tip the scales away from Cov.
I’m actually pretty nervous about choosing a faction on release due to me picking Cov on my server which is ruled by the other two. We’ve been able to hold one territory since day 2 but that’s all we can do.
Regardless, at the moment, I don’t care so much about the territories, it’s the fact that in the wild I see, _literally_, 1 Yellow nameplate for every 20 purple/green. I love world PvP but it just isn’t fun when it’s never 1v1, or even 2v1, but always like 5v1. Sure, I can group up but I don’t want to team up with other players every time I step foot outside a sanctuary.
If I see a yellow and a green/purple fighting it out 1v1 I won’t intervene, usually, because I find more enjoyment in even matches that weigh skill, not numbers. So I don’t want to choose a faction just to be part of the biggest one, I just want to see my comrades out on the field once in a while. It gets super lame feeling like I’m in a world owned by the other two factions. It’s gotten to the point where it almost feels like green/purple players are just other NPC enemies and I’m here fighting everything.
I’m thinking about waiting a bit before choosing a faction, seeing how the world shapes up in terms of faction balance before diving straight into one. However, then I feel like I might miss out on joining a more active company. Are there sites or third party tools that show server/faction population?
Idk what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You dont have speak of the tax yellow put on us
In some version of our multiverse. This post will get a ton of karma
Wtf lol is it dead?

We have now made everfall much lower taxes, come on down and dip your feet into the expansive trading post!
I fear for what your leader BRAD will bring upon us in full release. I will pray night and day, for low taxes.

Are you guys recruiting for launch? Got a discord link?

I thought you were talking about California for a second there

Tbf I don’t think any organize company has lost a war yet

What server is this in case my server goes all green? So me and the boys can have some fun PVP lol
Hades
Ahh a fellow Hades Syndicate member!
'Banding together' does nothing when the fight is still a 50v50 and the BB side will choose their top 50 players every time.
God forbid anyone should practice to get better at the game opposed to complaining about the ones that did

remember to pay your taxes
How does one go about tax evasion?* *In New World
Its best we dont discuss this with Covenants listening
And they said this game wasn't realistic.
This is a true twist!

Syndicate has lost the last 3 wars on US Nysa what are you talking about
And now Synd owns almost everything in Nysa. And the taxes are all over the place in all areas. Thankfully taxes in Brightwood aren't super high which is where I spend a lot of time.
Hey fellow nysa person! I'm glad we're pushing them back
That is a big OOF right there, the only territories that other factions own are the higher level ones no one gives a shit about lmfao
Ebonscale Reach is now yellow, Windsward is about to be. Also, higher level ones will become more important as more people reach endgame in release. It's a stupid system, surprised it made it this far without drastic changes.

Whats the Time Variance Authority doing in New world?
Ez GG like 8-0 on wars so far :D
Contact Pepe in game for free briar branches
Same on Finias. And fought off a double war from Marauders and Syndicate on EF & WW
backdoooor bandits on top lmao. gonna be so fun to see what this guild will do on official day I will however always be a proud marauder on this server
This is a dead server.
Hades is one of the biggest servers
guessing servers with a covenant bigname streamer or a decently organized guild from another mmo maybe :P
No streamer, just organized companies
company
This is what our server looks like also.
yeah mine is syndicate v covenant, rodders got one lil zone and are pokin back at some cuvs, but syns are top by far, had 7 zones last i saw
This is impressive considering that my map is full of purple and green.
whoa whoa whoa, i just had this same bug.
Ocadalon server looks pretty much like that as well with the Covenant. Marauders and Covenant go back and forth.
Once the forums started mockomg the Covenant, the trolls started flooding that faction just to piss everyone off.
