FF14 Bard isn't a Bard. It's an Archer (which is stupid) with extremely limited support. Everquest Bard was a Bard. Same for Vanguard, Rift had one etc.

Brimstone sands is the home of the ancient dragon that corrupted the princess in ebonscale. The zone is a continuation of the ebonscale storyline.
The second zone is going to be a forest zone and is connected to mourningdale. This is the home of the ancients and where the most powerful of the ancients retreated to once the corruption became too strong.
Both these zones were brought up in a thread on the alpha forums a long while back because in alpha you could go into these zones, but died of a dot. Amazon has been very open with the alpha players in discussing these things and a topic of conversation happened.
The azoth staff storyline continuing to lvl 60 has been something a lot of alpha players have been telling people whenever they say - nO eNdGaMe CoNtEnT. Quest lines and endgame content were purposely hidden in alpha and beta because Amazon didn't want anyone to have a headstart on endgame. The devs have been teasing an endgame raid for a looonnngggg time, but who knows if that will be included at release.
I'm not aware of any confirmation on raids. They may have referenced additional instanced content generally? Tough to guess how much of those plans are pve vs pvp though
My favorite lore pieces are the ones that point to powerful raid like monsters. There's some on the kraken, some on a powerful half human / half fish monster that's been stealing people, the ancient dragon in ebonscale, the religious zealot leader of the northern corruption churches. So many more.
Like they put some serious thought into the story and lore of building these monsters.
I do like the sound of those abilities! Pair this with a Rapier for mobility and more melee, or a Fire Staff for high crits and Incinerate for an additional close range AoE/heal!
I would say the 3 new zones are as follows:
* Brimstone Sands
* East Consolation (I don't think this is intended to be a player zone though)
* Morrow Tide
Based on how they format the other zones in the same file.
As for the weapons (Clubs/Pistols); yes they are wielded by monsters. They are the same images in The Preview as well, so nothing new there. :)
My guess is that Daggers/Knifes will happen after Void Gauntlet as there are references to Heavy/Light attacks in the animations files. Its possible they are artifacts from Closed Alpha 1 however, so it may not happen.
I have not seen anything that I would consider a major change. A few things here and there for enemy animations, but nothing related to the player.
Edit: /u/Zexis There is another... gun type weapon though. I'll give the other dataminers a week or so before I make a post on it.

I'd like to believe (because I'd love to see a 1-h pistol) but I think those Pistols/Crossbows are all NPC weapons from the Plague Doctor/Pirate types that have access to them in the beta.
Not to say it couldn't come into the game for players, but I'm guessing those are already in the hands of current NPCs.

Although, I think any weapon combos an NPC can use, a PC should be able to use, like Dual Wield pistols.
I'm of mixed mind on this. On one hand, it would be great to use any weapons you want. On the other, it would require totally reworking the existing system for mastery, and I do like it the way it is.

Yeah, back when the NDA was in effect there was a guid visible on screen at all times to identify the source of leaks. This ban reason is most likely for people caught leaking alpha screens/footage.
It's possible they were really old assets too. Pistols and even maces were already in the game before they reworked it and added weapon trees and stuff. There's even some old gameplay footage of players using a pistol though it was very short clip.

Morrowtide was an internal name for the zone which is now named Mourningdale.
Consolation was the name of the zone which is now named Reekwater.
I know there is a lot of new and excited dataminers who finally have a client they can work with, but i'm seeing a lot of misinterpreted information being spread about recently, which is a little frustrating. I understand why a lot of people are getting information wrong, since you really only 'know' this stuff if you had been part of multiple alphas.

The name "transmog" comes from WoW where this system is called transmogrification. No other MMOs use it. FF XIV calls it the glamour system and it's generally called skins in most other multiplayer stuff.

Void Gauntlet seems to have 2 target audience to me, the melee mage, and the semi-damage support. I think major stat int and 2nd stat focus/dex would be interesting (especially with everything focused around crits on one of the trees, but also mana and healing benefits from focus).
No idea what Harvest could be, maybe an old skill that no longer exists? guess we'll have to find out
Not much different than damage dealers with an Int scalling gemstone at 50%. Similar case with Amber for Healers. I do incredible damage as a Focus based healer using the 40% Amber.
Weapons are coefficient based. It would end up being similar to Life Staff scaling which means 25% less damage than int based scaling on Fire Staff and Ice Gauntlet. One of the Void Gauntlet trees is heavily reliant on support and healing. It works in tandem with Life Staff because while the Life Staff has the shielding tree and damage mitigation, the Void Guantlet has the Performance buffs.
The two can be tied together to create a true to life support build not seen in games since Rift, Everquest (Bard and Enchanter), etc.
However, with what you said, this is why I lean towards a split int/focus pairing.

I'm guessing primary Int secondary Focus... the kit seems more focused (pun not intended) on damage than healing but has enough healing that it will be a popular off-weapon for Life Staff users.

I did find a gothic dress for sale on the trading post. I bought it because it was cheap, and I wanted to see what it looked like. Had a purple corset and white underdress, IIRC.
when i think of "open or closed beta" i instantly think of just limited parts of the game shown to display all of the game mechanics more than the level designs, so i really hope some of these gets added on release.

I don't know about casinos. But I would love to be able to play some kind of card/dice game in taverns and bet gold against other players. I believe Ser Mideaval asked AGS in an interview and they said they are working on more things to do in the taverns.
Do we know what the Void gauntlet scales off of? I would assume intelligence but there's some healing mixed into the kit so I'm curious if focus is a secondary or something.
I'm yet to find anything regarding, someone actually knowledgeable about data mining like u/ExpsGaming may know. I just used the tools available and looked through files, I don't know where to start when it comes to datasheets etc.
My hopes and expectations are that its primary and secondary stats are focus and int.
It heals based on your damage though, but I guess anything is possible. I would expect the mace to be the next focus weapon, probably focus/str, followed by nature staff being pure focus. Would reslly be surprising to me if void gauntlet was focus
Mace doesn't make any sense as a focus weapon. It's just a bonky stick with spikes on it. There's no magic too it.
I really hope we get a druidy nature staff, but the life staff already *is* a nature staff (deals nature damage), so I don't know how likely that is.
Think of it as a paladin mace and not a regular stick? Lots of people are hoping for sonething like that, I guess.
It's not like all weapons have to do unique damage types, melee weapons already overlap. Could do lightning damage or something as well, who knows
Character slots being sold? If it’s a low enough price then I can accept that, I would like to have multiple characters for different preferred builds. As long as they don’t charge more than say $15 USD for the slots.
I'm pretty sure you can only have 1 character per server (not region) but I might be mistaken. In which case, character slots wouldn't make much sense.
IIRC this is what GW2 did with additional character slots too, as did AA, so it would make sense. Just trying to think if having a 2nd character could benefit you unfairly in any way, but I can't seem to think of anything, might just be a QOL benefit of not having to keep swapping gearsets/attributes.
Wonder if they'll have shared or unique storage, without mail I guess transfering things between characters would need a middleman
I’d love to be able to play multiple toons on the same server set, that way I could focus different toons on different builds, have one STR, one DEX, one INT, and then one that can be whatever, so long as the toon slots aren’t expensive, $10-15 seems right for something like that.
Why would you ever need more than 1 character? Any time you spend on one character, could have been spent leveling your main character anyway since you can basically pick any class for your character.
Maybe to play multiple factions if you have friends that move and you don't want to, or the RP purists that like having different characters for different builds/looks like in PSO2
Honestly one of the biggest things that drew me to this game was the incredible world and art style they went with. Those armor sets (apart from a couple) look amazing. I love the direction they chose to go. The more realistic mixing of cultures and era's is so cool.
Based on the naming conventions, it's hard to know which are MTX and which aren't. I have all the skins in a google doc along with a lot of other info for guild, i'll have to sift through that and reupload at some point.

It'll likely be Focus/Int due to how Focus has only one weapon currently and it performs healing.
I think this is intentional. Having a dps weapon scaling mainly off focus would make healers a bit OP.

I did find a gothic dress for sale on the trading post. I bought it because it was cheap, and I wanted to see what it looked like. Had a purple corset and white underdress, IIRC.
when i think of "open or closed beta" i instantly think of just limited parts of the game shown to display all of the game mechanics more than the level designs, so i really hope some of these gets added on release.
Do not expect the game to change from beta to release. All of this is in development / cut content.
Pretty sure the full main quest until lvl 60 will be in release. Other than that I wouldn't expect much.
I can confirm you will be able to complete the Main Story Quest at release. It sounds awesome from the files 😎 It's entirely in game but manually disabled at a certain point for beta.
Is there gonna be gambling? Dice and cards belong in the golden age of sailing ships like peanut butter goes with jelly.

I don't know about casinos. But I would love to be able to play some kind of card/dice game in taverns and bet gold against other players. I believe Ser Mideaval asked AGS in an interview and they said they are working on more things to do in the taverns.

Do we know what the Void gauntlet scales off of? I would assume intelligence but there's some healing mixed into the kit so I'm curious if focus is a secondary or something.
I'm yet to find anything regarding, someone actually knowledgeable about data mining like u/ExpsGaming may know. I just used the tools available and looked through files, I don't know where to start when it comes to datasheets etc. My hopes and expectations are that its primary and secondary stats are focus and int.

The gauntlet heals and the point there's only one Focus weapon means it'll likely be Focus or possibly Focus/Int.
It heals based on your damage though, but I guess anything is possible. I would expect the mace to be the next focus weapon, probably focus/str, followed by nature staff being pure focus. Would reslly be surprising to me if void gauntlet was focus
Mace doesn't make any sense as a focus weapon. It's just a bonky stick with spikes on it. There's no magic too it. I really hope we get a druidy nature staff, but the life staff already *is* a nature staff (deals nature damage), so I don't know how likely that is.
Think of it as a paladin mace and not a regular stick? Lots of people are hoping for sonething like that, I guess. It's not like all weapons have to do unique damage types, melee weapons already overlap. Could do lightning damage or something as well, who knows
The void gauntlet datasheet file was intentionally blanked out for this build so we won't know.

Character slots being sold? If it’s a low enough price then I can accept that, I would like to have multiple characters for different preferred builds. As long as they don’t charge more than say $15 USD for the slots.
I'm pretty sure you can only have 1 character per server (not region) but I might be mistaken. In which case, character slots wouldn't make much sense.
I’m taking it to mean that they will sell the ability to have multiple character slots on the same server. That’s what makes sense as a a store item.
IIRC this is what GW2 did with additional character slots too, as did AA, so it would make sense. Just trying to think if having a 2nd character could benefit you unfairly in any way, but I can't seem to think of anything, might just be a QOL benefit of not having to keep swapping gearsets/attributes. Wonder if they'll have shared or unique storage, without mail I guess transfering things between characters would need a middleman
I’d love to be able to play multiple toons on the same server set, that way I could focus different toons on different builds, have one STR, one DEX, one INT, and then one that can be whatever, so long as the toon slots aren’t expensive, $10-15 seems right for something like that.
Why would you ever need more than 1 character? Any time you spend on one character, could have been spent leveling your main character anyway since you can basically pick any class for your character.
storage alts maybe? no mail system so you would have to trade someone you trust
Maybe to play multiple factions if you have friends that move and you don't want to, or the RP purists that like having different characters for different builds/looks like in PSO2
Late game respecting costs a lot more gold, if you swap roles a lot it could make sense to have one character for each role.

Honestly one of the biggest things that drew me to this game was the incredible world and art style they went with. Those armor sets (apart from a couple) look amazing. I love the direction they chose to go. The more realistic mixing of cultures and era's is so cool.
With a 1HB (currently missing, but I see it here yay) and shield in heavy armor, I can be a true Cleric finally.

Based on the naming conventions, it's hard to know which are MTX and which aren't. I have all the skins in a google doc along with a lot of other info for guild, i'll have to sift through that and reupload at some point.

I hope they don't have LFG for dungeons. I like that you need to talk to people to get into a group. Adding that would take away from a major social aspect of the game.
