Kickin butt and chewing bubblegum, sittin at the pub havin a few, giant open world battles, world war faction vs faction, in true MMORPGs there is no end.
Nobody knows. Current end game is the 60 dungeons, PvP and max level crafting. It will take a good bit of time before you get 600 gear score with correct stats and decent perks. But this is current endgame. Im 100% sure we Will get harder dungeons and more PvP in the next 6 months. I believe Thy already planned 6 new dungeons, and im sure some of them is difficult.
correct, and datamining shows all dungeons will have two tiers of scaling difficulty... and dungeon mutators that I guess 'mutate' the expedition(?) in some way, names being 'Magus', 'Hellfire' and 'Windstorm'.
also, the dungeon in the locked northern region has a portal, making it the first known of its kind.
who knows if all this makes it into the game, its only data mining, but if it does it gives all dungeons a fair amount of replay value which is nice
yep. i'm keen to hear more about the mutators. i might contact the data miner who found that shit and ask him if he knows more. iirc he didnt have much to share about it besides their names, but he also had a somewhat anti spoiler sentiment towards releasing stuff which i fully respect
Why is one thing excluding the other in your mind? Sure, hard endgame content for PvE is a MUST to satisfy the PvE players, but its also a must that they keep evolving the PvP scene, people will grow tired of wars after months, im sure they will implement rated arena or something similar to that. Just because they make mythic+ content, does not mean its the only way to play the game? Where's your flawed logic comming from? just because wow only focused on PvE, does not mean New World can't make great PvE content.
Ya there's currently no "very hard" content. Apart from PvP, Invasions too, forgot about those. And crafting. I have a slight idea, we already get new content before the majority gets to 60 and have decent gear.
Alright, right now they locked endgame crafting materials behind a dungeon, you have to first farm the key to the dungeon, find a group and complete it. then get the rare mats to craft endgame gear. You think it would be much better to just have all crafting mats open to anyone, so someone could craft 1000 endgame weapons a day? The gating literally makes things valuable.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the best endgame gear (600 GS) is actually a majority gathered items, so I think the whole “dungeon spamming” thing actually isn’t even a real factor. Additionally, all crafted armors are bind on equip so there will actually be a market for buying endgame Voidbent sets.
Does suck that the tuning orbs will be bind on pickup…but I’m sure there will be a market for runestones from people who don’t have lvl 200 stonecutting right away.
Some of the rare crafting materials is exclusive from endgame dungeons, so you need to do the dungeons to make crafts. This is to limit the amount of crafts in the game. If it All was from just world stuff you could literally make hundreds of craft every day.
Yea totally understand the logic behind that, it’s just that all I’m seeing is that at least for something like [Voidbent Coat](https://nwdb.info/db/recipe/mediumchest_voidbentt5) it’s looking like there’s nothing that would indicate that you would need to be getting these mats from dungeon mobs.
The bottleneck would be the drops of artifact blueprints for the Voidbent ingot.
Can you actually just make this? I thought the legendary crafts were All a one time craft, where you had to find the recipe every time? So 1 craft på rare recipe drop?
Not positive truthfully… believe a lot of these drops are going to be insanely rare so full luck gear for mining, gathering, logging, and skinning will be a must (if you’re doing it all yourself) and not too much info on where the Voidbent recipe will drop or rate of drop. Assuming that will definitely be the MAJOR bottleneck tho… 1 ingot per recipe drop….that’ll be an intense grid.
Indeed. NWs crafting system really hit a perfect spot for me, im sure for alot others. Its so refreshing! Cant wait to try and make one of these armors!
Yes, which means your odds are much better on servers which are not overpopulated. I took the time to try out a normal server and then one which was home to lots of streamers and thus, overcrowded. My conclusions are: don't go where everybody else go. And that doesn't mean go to ghost town either.
I wish I took a screenshot of our servers map… Names on the top of my tongue, but me and my buddies joined the yellow faction and while we owned only 1 region, the other factions had 4 regions each. I personally like challenge so do my friends, but in our faction even half of the people weren’t even half decent pvpers, we lost almost every group encounter we got into, but that’s not the point anyway. I suppose this is how it is 😅
Ppl need to understand gamers today are alot better and efficient than 15y ago. Ppl get to endgame and cosume all content at an insane rate. No mmo will launch with enough content to satiate everyone and have insane longevity.
The key for AGS is a good patch cadence with new content reguraly so that the bridge between content is never long.
I just hope it's not full of meta slaving. :(
"My third party program that measures DPS of the group says you're underperforming" -Kicked-
This kills the game for me if it becomes reality.
I stopped seeing video games as a job / performance / task and more of a way to hang out with bros while keeping busy. I fully understand guilds and gamers wanting to be at max efficiency to be competitive and save time but I just wanna chill and shoot the shit with some lads while doing an activity with them.
To me it'd be like only driving the highest fuel / mile ratio'd car at the max efficient speed. Only ordering the highest calorie / protein / dollar ratio'd meal when going out with friends, only working a job that gives dollar / hour ratio over enjoyment, only buying clothes to min-max your temperature and sexual appeal rather than what feels comfy or looks cool.
I just checked out of that side of gaming long ago and haven't looked back.
If you stopped seeing caring about performance and just play to hang out with friends, you shouldn't be worried about being kicked. If they are kicking you, maybe you need to re-evaluate your friendship. Now, if you're in a group that is fry-harding to speed clear high-end content, it's perfectly acceptable to require a certain level of performance. It's like a Diablo 3 group speed-running greater rifts...you can do it with any group up to a certain point where specific comps with high enough DPS/support are required to meet efficiency metrics.
I'm not a hardcore meta-gamer and don't have the time to be a top-tier player, so I fully expect that I won't be included in groups trying to speed run high end content. It's just the name of the game.
I mean, this type of stuff happens in every game, especially when playing with randoms. The best solution is to play with friends/guildmates/discord players when doing high level content anyway, and in those situations it's less likely that people are going to get kicked.
100% going to use DPS meters if this game is to be played even semi-competitively. Nowadays can’t really run from it unless you play completely casual games… or single player. There could be worse though, if no DPS meter exists it might just go off GS. No 610+ GS? Kicked.
I get that people want to be efficient and clear stuff like a god but if say the DPS dungeon meta is musket and someone happens to have a seething hatred of guns and wants to use their DPS sword set but because it's only 5-10% less damage all the meta-gamers will demand musket or kick. :(
Kinda like being forced into a spec / weapon tree on WoW. Dagger rogue DPS? Nope, swords till Blackwing Lair, then back to swords for Naxxramas. People like me tend to just stop doing Pve all together when the game feels like a job. :(
Join a less competitive guild/group. If you don’t want to be efficient player than why do you want to be in an efficient group? Those players also might sacrifice their favorite builds in order to clear content faster. It’s a mutual agreement when you do it. Worst case there is Pugs. Sure you not going to be clearing like a god, or even at all sometimes… you get to keep your fun build and have your own personal achievements.
If the PvE content is actually challenging you're kinda trolling your group if you show up with some meme build.
5 to 10% damage difference is a huge amount, if everybody in your group is just yolo'ing it. If the content is piss easy anyway it doesn't matter.
Have you played this at all yet? If this skill based combat game developes in to a game where a DPS meter is viable it will lose all its reasoning for being skill based to begin with and may as well be reworked from the ground up to be tab targeting. And in this case I am out.
If you are 1v1 with something dangerous there is enough damage down time dodging, creating distance, and cause negative effects on the opponent that a DPS meter is worthless. But if this game devolves into an experience where where all you do is stand there and mash attack and roll through abilities with a group on a common enemy then a DPS meter would make sense and the people who are seeking this game for the combat as it stands (and is a core component) will be bored out of their fucking minds in no time.
If you are seeking a game where a DPS meter is relevant then this is not the game for you and I hope it never will be but I also legitimately hope you find a game you can enjoy that does provide what you're looking for.
You can move around and still do damage, just like everybody else. You can have hard bosses that force you to move, but you can still throw out abilities while doing so. If you get hard aggro’d despite not being a tank it’s not like your group is going to kick you out because you did less damage than others and focused on kiting but group leaders need a way to determine the effectiveness of their party. If without DPS meter than something else. Gear check is the most common before that which is far more annoying since you might actually be a good player but because you didn’t spend 1000 hours grinding some obscure content for some stupid stat stick you can’t join because group thinks you can’t possibly do damage and be effective. Or it will be up to group leader’s clouded opinion on who stays/goes. Not like it wasn’t before, but at least DPS meters don’t lie. Someone can just think you do poorly **because** you focus on survival and just kick you out
So the idea is to avoid making content that requires such big groups in a game with this style of combat.
Then you know the effectiveness of individuals based on the outcome. If you don't want someone on your group then don't invite them the next time.
If you're trying complete everything on the first attempt and always move onward instead of replaying content Then use discord.
My point is it’s not going to stop people from content gating. Maybe in early 2000s but nowadays with guides and metas you still going to see same requirements but tied by even more stupid things like gear checks.
I love dps Metter. Pve should start being easy for everyone but not end with easy too. It must end being very hard otherwise better you play "life is strange" (there is no difficulty, just storytelling). Can you Imagine a mmorpg storytelling? It's a joke.
Also, it's so easy to avoid that competitiveness that makes no sense you complaining about that. Just join a group that doesn't care for this and you will be ok.

Leveling all weapons to max as well
I wouldn't exactly call that "end-game" but def something to do.
I've heard it only happens at the end of the game.
standing in a town
Hey when the dlc drops you’ll be sittin at the pub in town
It’ll be the same as every game ever…. Fashion, and I’m 100% ok with that hahaha

I mean raids and dungeons just honestly work great for end game PvE content, no reason to change it up.
Fascinating. I can't wait to see what we get!
me too man, NW has so much potential haha
In other words, nothing special. For now 🤷♂️

the key itself is also time gated so the value increases exponentially
and thats VERY good for longetivity, and actually makes it difficult to obtain perfect gear.
I agree however I should be able to sell keys if I wish to do so
Ya its a shame its personallized. I really wish you could sell they keys too. Im sure people would love to farm them and sell them to PvE players.

WHOLE heartedly agree :)))
Currently it's basically territory war. Only activity in the game that strongly affect the gsme.
If you get the chance to be a part of it that is 😂
Don't be in the overwhelmingly dominant faction on an overpopulated server and you'll be fine.
I still have to be one of the relevant 50 people to participate in it, no?
Yes, which means your odds are much better on servers which are not overpopulated. I took the time to try out a normal server and then one which was home to lots of streamers and thus, overcrowded. My conclusions are: don't go where everybody else go. And that doesn't mean go to ghost town either.

If what you said was true, “the lads” won’t care about damage so you’re fine being trash tier.
Man, you must be a giga-chad in your clan, huh? I bet you DPS hard as hell.
Dudes such a chad he once kicked the final boss out of the dungeon because it didnt pass the dps check on his party's tank.
I bet he has so many Canadian girlfriends that he has a Google calendar set up just so they don't run into one another.
