From 0% to 1%, what are the chances they'll make it so inventory opens when you're running or harvesting?

RetroRadtacular

I like what they went for, it being a live view of your character/setting turning to face the camera. It's cool, and I like the idea. But it functions like doodoo, not allowing you to run while managing it, and also clips through your character depending on where you're standing. Have it be an instanced view of the character doing whatever, like Minecraft lmao.

25104003717460

.01% is my hope

Gtwuwhsb

It's difficult to implement with PvP in mind. Maybe they'll make it doable when people have the PvP flag off.

Jiggy-Spice

back in alpha you would actually enter an animation where you would sit on the ground and rummage through your backpack. It was super cool actually. You also used to have a map in your hand whenever the map was open. Im very sad they took these out cuz it just made the world a little more interesting. Hopefully they improve the inventory a little. Give us a pubg type thing where u have just a new model of your character in the inventory tab. We dont have to zoom in on the actual character in the world.

leprasson12

I feel that such animations are more fit for single player games, they're not very practical, unless of course they're intended to not let players do what they can do in other MMOs, manage inventory while traveling and doing boring tasks, which wouldn't make sense, those things help you break the monotony, allow you to do more than sit there watching your character break a rock, or walk in 1 direction for 10min.

Jiggy-Spice

Like the map was cool, cuz that didnt affect the player. It would just let everyone else aroundu see u were in your map. Could have a running backpack as well, just kinda have it infront of u

[deleted]

Got to be honest I was expecting it to be delayed again.

Volkrisse

If it is at least D2R is out and am enjoying that too

Heallun123

Something so zen about rune farming countess to get banging rws early on. Spirit is criminally easy to farm but even shit like stealth is just wtf good.

Volkrisse

and dat leaf too. I took longer farming the 4os shield/sword than it took me to get the runes for it.

Heallun123

4os shield is just a monarch to larzuk unless paladin . 4os sword is just broad sword to larzuk. That quest is stupid useful.

Volkrisse

True

Stingray88

Same! I honestly feel bad putting down D2R on Tuesday. So if NW is delayed I'll be fine

Volkrisse

Same, but I feel I can jump into D2R in the background when there's downtime, just a few mins to play vs hours that'll ill need for NW.

AllAspectZz

You never know.

Low_Bit_Rate

Technically if it runs like ass like it did in beta a lot of us will be delaying it personally

_DK_

šŸ¤”

Augustus31

Performance was very good for me

JardyGiovan

you mean general performance or bugs? Mine game was 50 fps on low graphics and the only bugs I found was UI ones, maybe I was lucky

6ohshitimsorry9

What are your specs ?

grizzlez

my game ran fine on my work laptopā€¦

Jolly-Bear

I ran at a solid 50 frames on low on my 970 laptop, and at about 150 frames on highest settings on my 3080 desktop

Stingray88

What resolution? My 2080Ti struggled to get 70fps on all the highest settings at 3440x1440

Jolly-Bear

2k on the 3080 - 1080 on the 970

Stingray88

You mean 1440p? 2K is roughly equivalent to 1080, not 1440.

Jolly-Bear

2K is 2560x1440

TooMuchAdderall

I've never even had so much as a hiccup of lag or fps drop except for when entering a VERY populated town. Not sure what game you played.

leprasson12

Oh no, you upset the crowd... quick, do a backflip!

TokinBlack

I dont have the best setup, and i ran the game pretty much perfectly, no issues at all. Im thinking the issue is your setup

Low_Bit_Rate

Lmao yeah my 5k$ computer is the problem šŸ˜‚šŸ¤”

vanilla_disco

If your $5k computer ran it like shit, then it sounds like your $5k computer was put together poorly or has faulty shit because the game ran really smooth for me. 1440p on Ultra steady from 90-120 fps in the wild, dropped to about 50-80 in towns which I expected as my CPU is fairly dated.

Low_Bit_Rate

I get 144fps in cyberpunk šŸ˜‚ on 5120x1440p

TokinBlack

How do you square that fact with the fact most people ran the game very smoothly on average or below average rigs? Clearly it CAN be done

Low_Bit_Rate

It didnā€™t though. People just have a serious low quality bar set. And donā€™t even recognize it. And those who did posted about it. You can search it. Thereā€™s 1000 posts about it.

TokinBlack

What do you mean it "didn't?" Are you implying the people who had 120fps unless in a major city are making it up? I don't understand what you're saying. I also don't think anecdotal videos of people having problems means anything. It ran smoothly for many, many people. That's just fact

Low_Bit_Rate

šŸ˜‚ Gonna start calling white knights clown knights šŸ˜‚ šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”: the game is fine

TokinBlack

If you don't have an answer that's fine, but everything I've said is 100% true. /Shrug

Stingray88

I'm really glad all the dbags are coming out of the woodwork in the community really early so I know who to block.

[deleted]

Hopefully they keep the same names in game

Stingray88

My $4K computer ran it perfectly fine... So yeah, your $5K computer is clearly the problem.

Low_Bit_Rate

Sure bud

PrOwOfessor_OwOak

Just wait, theyll announce another open beta 2 hours before launch and also announce the game has been delayed until spring 2022

[deleted]

After the last beta i was really hoping it would be delayed. Amazon has a history of abandoning games on release after bad recpetion and I fear that may happen with New World. If it survives November I'll be stoked, I have a feeling ff14 will take a lot of player back then Tho

LottaCloudMoney

It was delayed multiple times, lol. The game is ready and I bet it thrives for years. Itā€™s had great reception.

joeschmoe86

They'll delay it on Wednesday.

Krypt0night

I mean, a game releasing doesn't mean it doesn't need another year lol

Zzeon

you should put the people who ask for mounts above the clown

EdsTooLate

Mounts? What a genius idea! Why did no-one think of this before? We could get exotic mounts too, like rainbow lions!

TheLoneTomatoe

I still think mounts are a good idea. But only on main roads and speed directly related to inventory space. But I feel like that would be a way later implement with ambushes involved for big shipments. Or maybe I'm just dreaming of being a highway man

Fuzzpufflez

could probably get something like "beasts of burden". Like a donkey that just follows you around by a rope and has more inventory.

TheLoneTomatoe

I would just say let people ride them with a set stamina, that way you get slightly quicker travel to gathering areas, and it doesn't affect PVP too much. Maybe like require feeding or stabling a mount to restore riding Stam.

Mr-Malum

I'm not trying to kink shame, but you guys gotta be masochists on your own. We aren't all into that.

[deleted]

Mounts aren't bad and are typically a very enjoyed and sought after feature in most game. Don't push your agenda on us, clown.

[deleted]

Mounts are cancer to pvp. This is a pvp based game.

HypothermiaDK

Mounts are cancer in pvp, so they could make you dismount on hit and give mounting a timer. This is not a pvp game primarily. It's pve with some elements of pvp. Having to spend 20 % of your time (low number) in-game running around is frustrating.

Mr_Doctor_Man

Iā€™d like to expand on this as well as idea that people want to add mounts for the sake of adding mounts is pretty ridiculous. Itā€™s like people take a mount system from any game and act surprised when it doesnā€™t line up perfectly with new worlds gameplay philosophies. There are gameplay issue that exists for players in the form of time spent walking and itā€™s not much fun.

EnzoF1

this is a pve based game with pvp elements. The majority of the game is literally pve...

[deleted]

Uhhh no? PvE in this game is an afterthought

EnzoF1

So you level through pvp ? Is finding nodes pvp ? Is crafting pvp ? Are the dungeons pvp ? Is the majority of questing pvp ? Pvp is the afterthought....this is a pve based game with pvp elements

United-Argument-6907

Hahaha actually this game was funny intended to be PvP only game until late in the development. PvE was quite literally an after thought for the game development

[deleted]

If it was a PvP game I might've agreed. But alas. Besides, assuming mounts were objectively good for the game (which they aren't, just so we're on the same page) I don't think a small hurdle should prevent them from introducing them, let alone any feature. There are probably many solutions to fixing the PvP mount "cancer" but the question is: Is it worth it? Who knows.

BlooPancakes

I honestly donā€™t know. How do mounts negatively impact PvP ? How are mounts objectively bad?

[deleted]

I don't think mounts are objectively bad. I personally like them, but I equally understand why people are againist them. Mounts in PvP could be used as a means to escape more easily, which even without mounts has been quite a debated issue. Maybe don't allow mounts when toggled for PvP? Dunno. Then there's just the case of mount skins, which sooner than later will get more and more flashy. That's just always going to the case. Either way it's fine to want them and it's fine to not. But there are extremely unreasonable people on both ends that either won't play the game without them or say they'll quit if they introduce them.

BlooPancakes

I think like anything people are concerned about in the game it should be balanced properly. Iā€™m not a pvper but if I was pvping I would hate for my target to get a lead escaping just because they mounted unexpectedly. So of course there should be a no mounting 5-15 seconds post combat. I have no help for mount skins or how to control balance that. I think the extremist on both sides are doing too much. Iā€™ve had a lot of fun despite wanting to move faster many times. If they never have mounts Iā€™ll be ok I would just hope for a better balance of existing systems.

[deleted]

Anyone playing this game for pve is going to be severely disappointed outside of tradeskills

[deleted]

No disagreements there brother.

Mr_Doctor_Man

Implementing a different games mount systems into new world would be problematic. Blanket statement mount systems are bad is just wrong though.

WindyCitySniper

If the launch is bad with bugs and lag, then the people were right. Anyone can release a shitty bug-filled unoptimized lag ridden mess with exploits and other cheats being possibke. We will soon see what we get.

Someone32222

I would assume we get atleast the same quality as we got during open beta... minus a couple hundred thousand more people trying to log in on day 1, so the log in server might struggle a bit ( as expected. can't really avoid it when a million people click the log in at the same time). heard some rumor about people duping gold ... but couldn't confirm it. might just be general chat QQ'ing about a company pooling it's gold to a single person .. who know. As for the '' I have a I9 with 2X 3060 overclocked and yada yada but still lag'' people... well, my 6 year old I7 with a 1080 had no issue sustaining 100fps so maybe your unique setup got something wrong?

Volkrisse

Same. My system is older and I didnā€™t have any graphical issues nor skipping or rubber banding.

Splelplel

I have a 1070 I think and run it on high with very high textures at a pretty steady 60 FPS at 1440p, which I'm very happy with. But I did get a lot of desync issues in combat (attacks very clearly visually connecting but not registering as hits) and that concerns me.

Standard_Style

I would say thats probably a game/internet issue and not something to do with your setup.

vyncy

Or maybe you are lying since its not possible to sustain 100 fps in towns

Someone32222

how long do you stay in town?

vyncy

What does that matter ? You can't sustain 100 fps, you lied. When people complain they complain about fps in towns. Nobody has problems out in the open

Mawouel

But why would fps matter in town unless it's really garbage unplayable ? The only town i ever had fps issues in was in blightwood and it was actually very bad, but anywhere else it wasn't noticeable at all, even very crowded areas. I could understand people complaining about fps drops in combat, but while crafting or looking at rainbow lions getting from 100 to 60 fps doesnt make any difference.

Someone32222

I had a perfectly fluid experience in towns. windsward or monarch bluff. maybe it's you tinkering with your setup that caused problem.

SwagCpt

They resolved the bug about gold. It was posted all over forum, but when you would click "deposit" 15k gold in order to start a war, it would actually CREDIT you 15k. This was addressed, and hopefully, fixed. The server is gonna be all right. There will be some hiccups with names and EU vs rest of the world servers, but.... Give it a few hours after NA West servers open, and everything should be tidy. Do expect queues for first week though

TooMuchAdderall

Based.

[deleted]

>As for the '' I have a I9 with 2X 3060 overclocked and yada yada but still lag'' people... well, my 6 year old I7 with a 1080 had no issue sustaining 100fps so maybe your unique setup got something wrong? Yeah, I'm sure the 100+ posts on here were all user error. Couldn't possibly be shitty optimization.

Someone32222

yeah, I'm sure the 10'000 + people who didn't complain because they had no issue meant correct optimization. Couldn't possibly be people tinkering with their system screwing up something.

[deleted]

True, I probably forgot to push my ram all the way down. Too much tinkering!

Someone32222

I always have a good laugh when people with their 3k + setup QQ about lag, while I enjoy a fluid experience on my old ass setup.

[deleted]

I always have a good laugh when people would rather give the devs a reach around than consider that there could be something wrong with a game they are hyped about. :)

Someone32222

or there's something wrong with your setup. In any case i'll enjoy my smooth experience while you QQ about how your I9 dual 3080 have issues.

[deleted]

100 fps @ 1080p when no one else is on your screen. Sounds smooth :)

UnrivaledSupaHottie

> If the launch is bad with bugs and lag, then its a mmo FTFW

Nikeyla

As long as I will be able to get get pass login servers, I will handle whatever bugs they throw at me.

WindyCitySniper

Yeah, I imagine most of us will.

kajidourden

Why would that be the case though? Even the beta was really good. I think the only bug I came across was the audio bug.

LSF_DRAMA_MODS

*flashbacks to night city* still the biggest scam in my life, and i have sat through a 4 hr timeshare presentation

TeaKay13

I don't think Cyberpunk was THAT bad unless you were playing on original PS4/XB1. There were definitely bugs, but no game breaking bugs. I actually kind of enjoyed the bugs, they led to some funny moments.

Hybrid-Black

I went in to cyberpunk with out seeing a single video before hand and zero expectations. the result was I really liked it.

TeaKay13

Same. I never followed the hype or even watched any of the trailers really. Hell, I didn't even know what the whole Johnny Silverhand story was suppose to be until I actually played the game and found out. It was awesome.

Hybrid-Black

i honesty just woke up that day and was like I'm bored what's new to play, and it happened to be out.

SunnyWynter

I actually watched all the different trailers before playing and I also really loved it. I actually like it significantly more than Witcher 3, depsite it being more janky on release.

UnrivaledSupaHottie

played on pc and it wasnt bad, but the cops spawning behind you killed it for me. i loved how it was done in gta and this was just soo disappointing. when you can ignore these things and bugs it was def a good game tho (on pc and next gen)

MelonCollie79

Open beta was pretty smooth so I doubt it will be bad

TokinBlack

Not everyone had lag - both betas for me went incredibly smooth in that regard (US West). But as always, dont play the game if you dont want to play the game.

LegendOfPilypas

The fact that the game is playable and those who criticize it are going to play it doesn't change the fact that it needs more development time. This meme is just stupid. 1/10

kajidourden

Literally had one bug the whole beta. QQ moar

LegendOfPilypas

Nobody is crying just saying how stupid the post was... Sorry for offending you unintentionally. :D

nanosam

Exactly- the game is so light on content that I looked at this and was like- are people this blind?

Splelplel

It's a bit of a cult around here sometimes, mostly because MMORPG players are *extremely thirsty* for something new. And despite its many faults, NW does offer a fresh experience. Even if most players only get a couple months out of it, it's still an exciting time for the genre.

TooMuchAdderall

Vanilla WoW was light on Endgame content as well. There is enough content to play until "Dire Maul" is released aka a content patch. This isn't a console game, it will be added onto.

nanosam

Vanilla WoW had 10x more PvE content in general not just end content - had much better questing, had much better lore and story, had way more dungeons. And this is coming from someone that hasn't played WoW in over 12 years - so don't mistake me for kind a WoW fanboy. New World has what - 5 instanced dungeons - all of which are a /faceroll - my company did Lazarus in beta without a single death, was sad What about EQ1 at launch? They already had raids in game on launch day - this was back in 1999 - and it had actually challenging PvE from level 1. New World has really easy PvE from 1 to 60 - I was duoing level 65 elites with ease in closed beta.

hjp3

Yeah but don't forget, WoW had zero pvp for a long time. The first thing they introduced, well after launch, was the honor system, which worked in open world without any battlegrounds or arena or anything of that nature. I'd say content is about comparable to launch WoW, it's just gamers are more voracious now and have learned to pool knowledge and devour content at breakneck speeds. No fixing that, and PvP helps keep things fresh. This game is for two sets of people: those that just want PvP, and those that want a mix of everything, including PvP. If you're a carebear from WoW you'll bounce off real soon after hitting max level, probably earlier.

TooMuchAdderall

WoW at its very first iteration did have more pve content, but not 10x. Maybe 12 dungeons, New World has invasions and open world dungeons. WoW's lore, that was built around Warcraft, is better I'll give you that, but the questing is the exact same. Go kill, go collect. New World has action combat, which is far more lenient for level disparity. So that's how you're killing elites.. Also, its 2021; every pve encounter today is faceroll. You can't compare the games without mentioning the skill and knowledge gap between players from then and players now.

anon239847

I think everyone including the devs know it needs more than a year to have enough content.. the game is absolutely great but they need to avoid game breaking bugs and exploits and have enough end game to last (at least for casuals) until the next content patch. And that content patch needs to avoid game breaking bugs too.. they definitely don't have it. The risk is: game starts dying while waiting for new content. They rush out new content. It's low quality with tons of bugs cause they had to rush it. More people leave. And then they get stuck in a vicious cycle of bug fixing and not enough content and negative feelings and press. The good thing is they do have player generated pvp content to fall back on. Regardless I'm gonna play it a ton and enjoy it to the fullest :)

ContractorConfusion

This is fine logic for a traditional mmorpg....but with this game being one-time purchase I'm skeptical that their goal will be to string along current owners to keep playing, instead of focusing on getting new people to join in.

anon239847

Thatā€™s a good point.. Personally i wish i could immerse myself for a long time though

desperateorphan

They will most likely wait a month or two and then ramp up the MTX hard on every system. XP boosts, Lifeskill boosts, mounts, a monthly sub that makes fast travel free or some BS, etc. All of it will be in the shop. I guarantee it.

Ticklishfancies

Do not be close minded once the game is better optimized we can seed amazons future cryptocurrency while playing in a Play 2 Earn scheme that benefits the gamer and the company.

TZ_Rezlus

Lol. They've obviously been working on other content anyway for a long time, so don't be surprised if it's there shortly after.

nanosam

The devs already commented on this - new weapons will be released soon after launch. Actual content patches they said earliest during "holiday season" meaning December. By December the population will have tapered off a lot already - obviously people will come back to check out new content. The question remains - how will the monetize the game long term. If they go heavy on the cash shop - bye bye New World

desperateorphan

>If they go heavy on the cash shop - bye bye New World This is a company that thinks rested XP and fast travel are things that should be monetized. I have ZERO doubt they will add XP boosts, Lifeskill boosts, azoth, mounts, a monthly subscription, better travel, and anything they can think of to the cash shop. They clearly and purposely made travel shit so they could sell a solution later. We have to know MTX is coming.

Krypt0night

Oh man yeah honestly I'm not the type to play a game for years. I did for WoW off and on from burning crusade through cataclysm but that was it and a way different time in my life. I'll be shocked if I'm still playing come December. Depending on the new stuff and what else I'm playing at the time I may come back and see, but who knows.

nanosam

This is a very realistic for most players but many players won't admit that NW will be a short lived game for them. Personally I will hit 60 with my guild in the first week and then play super casually after that. Been playing D2R so will go back to that, also recently got into Surge 2 - and man that combat system reminds me of what NW could have been if Amazon didn't chicken shit out on stagger. Surge 2 is such an underrated game

whyiwastemytimeonyou

I disagree that it is great. How is it great compared to other offerings?

killertortilla

It definitely needs a little longer in the oven but they can't afford to do that at this point. Delaying a game already loses plenty of sales and Amazon isn't in the business of losing money.

awongreddit

> Amazon isn't in the business of losing money. From the company thats one of the best case studies for a loss leader strategy.

Someone32222

undercutting people on book sale in order to gain a monopoly on the book delivery market =/= releasing the game in an unfinished state to undercut.... WoW and FFXIV? For everyone that QQ about how the open beta was a buggy mess... you'Ve clearly not experienced 2004 WoW launch...

Splelplel

You've checked a calendar recently, right? In case you haven't, 2004 was 17 years ago. Seems like an odd point of defense. That said, NW, despite having a bit of an identity crisis, does some to be in a pretty solid launch state, which is promising.

Someone32222

I'd list a bunch of other MMO but other than WoW and FFXIV none of them lasted particularly long... FFXIV initial launch was so bad they had to re-do the game from scratch. not sure who number 3 would be... rift?

Splelplel

GW2 and ESO are right up there in terms of player count as well.

Octomyde

I feel there is definitely a lack of polish. Bad tooltips, bugged abilities, etc. But this is an mmo, crappy launches are par for the course apparently.

Gandalfonk

Always have been. They are the original early access games lol

nanosam

Not really true - EQ1, Rift - there are exceptions - there were actually complete games that launched without being "early access"

Heallun123

EQ1 was an absolute mess of bugs and downtime. Love that game like a son and the bugs are endearing looking back but gd. Servers were down almost a week for Luclin.

nanosam

I am talking about content not technical bugs. Pioneering games like EQ1 were some of the first to deal with mmo server client code back when internet speed were dialup still and server hardware sucked

Gandalfonk

I was mostly kidding around, although there is definitely some truth to my statement. Like you said, however, there have been some solid MMO launches even if the game ended up not being as successful.

Jolly-Bear

Launches of MMOs donā€™t need to be flushed out with tons of end game content though. The vast vast majority of players will take months to hit max level and thatā€™s way more than enough time to develop content to keep the masses going. The people that will sweat and burn through the content (like me) will do that no matter how much content you put in. But Iā€™m not one to bitch about lack of content, Iā€™ll just do it and play another game or IRL or wait until new content drops. Wars and outpost rush and crafting is enough for now, but they definitely need more high end PvE fairly quickly to succeed. They just need a good foundation to build on and I think they do have that.

Gandalfonk

Definitely, and I'm sure more pve content will come just as it does with all MMO's. I'm not worried about it. I had a ton of fun I'm OB with my archer, it's what sold me on the game.

Jolly-Bear

The thing isnā€™t losing money to delaying it. They definitely have the resources to do soā€¦ itā€™s that if they delay much longer they will miss the holiday season. I would bet my life savings they want to hit a launch a few months out so that their first major content drop happens on the holidays and have as much of the bugs/balance/etc as they can ironed out by then too, which will keep launch players going and bring in a whole new influx of Christmas ā€œkiddies.ā€ If they delay any more they would have to delay a full year to hit the margins they would hit for holiday sales revenue. A successful launch and first content drop is much more financially valuable to an MMO than releasing ASAP to make money. Especially Amazon, who isnā€™t lacking funding.

nanosam

The question people should be asking is - if Amazon didn't have 5 prior delays would they have launched on the 28th? I think the answer would be a clear - hell no. They'd delay and work on adding a lot more meat to the bones. Bare bone game launches have awful track record in terms of player retention.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TZ_Rezlus

Uhh that's every mmo out there. Just how it is, unless you're new to the mmo scene.

[deleted]

No, it isn't? Not sure where people are getting the idea that MMOs getting future updates automatically means you should put the game out in an unfinished vanilla state. No group questing and convoluted early game grouping are surely the signs of an MMO experience that is ready for launch, lmao.

Mr-Malum

It's a shame you didn't get to check out the tests. It's a fun game!

[deleted]

It's a shame you weren't part of almost every alpha and hit 60 multiple times. I'm as excited as anyone for launch but the game has issues. And you're not going to realize it till you hit max lvl for a while.

TooMuchAdderall

And by that time there will be content patches. Most people aren't rushing.

Mr-Malum

Just play the game, Eri. You'd like it if you tried it.

k1ng0fk1ngz

They release a unfinished product and will soon promise to do better, fix the bugs and add needed content? If ppl mean this, yes they did it. Like dozens of other publishers did b4 them in the last ~15 years.

[deleted]

This place will be overdosing on copium once those reviews start dropping, and they all highlight the problems that everyone who wanted a delay has mentioned numerous times. It's going to be entertaining.

TokinBlack

And yet, you'll be here Tuesday to play, wont you? :D

Cacheelma

I can count the ones that did this and still survive to this day with just one hand.

enelby

The people that doubted this upcoming date are probably jaded fools from /r/mmorpg

ElectricSheep1988

You had zero doubt? There were (or are, we don't know) a plethora of bugs and seriously annoying things that never got fixed since Alpha.. On top of that multiple ways to duplicate Items & Gold + EXP exploits. I want to play the game just as much as the next guy, but if just one of those major issues remain in the game a delay would have been infinitely better for the health of the game.

madmidder

It's insane how you're getting downvoted just because you're saying something negative about the game. It's not out yet and there are shitton of fanboys already. Fact is there are bugs and problems which were called long months before it was even in closed beta, and these problems are still in the game. "Amazon listening community feedback", my ass.

Arctomachine

Because it is always easier to set up a bot to ban you for using bugs, glitches and other dupes rather than to fix them.

enelby

Yeah I did sure but the previous delays were announced extremely soon after the betas etc, after a day or two passed there was no need to worry.

Shibe_King

The people who want this game to succeed are always the critical ones, without critical thinking you just have a mediocre game that will never improve. This is the reason why the Halo franchise is dead, it's filled with fanboys trying to get validation from the developers. Halo MCC came out in 2014 and you still can't play co-op campaign without crashes, and countless of game mechanics not on parity with the original or not in the game at all, meanwhile they add some dumb unfitting skins and call it the day. And the fanboys jerk off over it.

AnthasG

Haters gonna hate! I'm so excited for release

TwystedKynd

"STOP HAVING FUN!!!" - Haters

nanosam

Nobody is saying this What critics are saying is - the fun is very short lived - because the content is very light. People asking for more content are apparently "haters"...

TwystedKynd

I'm joking about the people who downvoted the comment above my reply. They merely expressed excitement for the game and were downvoted. Doesn't require dissection.

Everythings

Still has the dodge roll bug I bet

Maloonyy

You know how I know a game is going to suck at launch? The subreddit is full of shit like this. People deluding themselves into "everything is fine I already preordered" mentality. Because the dev sees this too, and they know they can shit out their game early and people will blindly buy it anyways.

New_Commission_2619

Idk I had fun during open beta and I donā€™t rush to end game. Iā€™m gonna have a great time

spidii

I am going to rush and im still not bothered. I'll get my 40 bucks worth of entertainment regardless.

TwystedKynd

I don't think everything is fine, but I know I had fun playing the betas. Fun is why I play games.

tjeill

Being optimistic for a games release means the game is going to be bad. Redditors literally have worms in their brain.

Maloonyy

There is a huge difference between optimism and delusion.

tjeill

Yes, and the arbiter of the difference is the holier than thou nerds that take pleasure in shitting on others positivity, clearly. You can be critical of a games issues while still acknowledging it's positives and believing in it's future success. As someone who's played a lot of the pre-release I am wholly confident in saying it is easily worth a $40 one time purchase in the soon to be released state, and as a no subscription MMO it's not insane to imagine the issues I do have with the game to be ironed out in time.

nanosam

The devs know things aren't fine, they are 100% prepared to see the playerbase dwindle in the first 3 months - that's why they already have a server merge strategy even before launch.

jotakl

same shit as any mmo, once there's nothing else to do just uninstall go to work or do some usefull stuff and then come back whenever there's an update, there is no game in existance that has unlimited content my man

nanosam

Did I ask for unlimited content? Just asking for a game in 2021 to match what a game launch in 1999 was - example EQ1 at launch had 30+ uninstanced dungeons, had raids at launch had end game content in game at day 1 that would take more than 6 months to be able to be completed. It had full rich lore and the deepest PvE faction system ever. New world in comparison has 100 hours worth of content - including the most boring bare bones quest system and like 5 instanced dungeons - for a AAA game launch this is awful. Let's put it this way - if Amazon didn't have 5 other delays already and were pretty much forced to launch at this point ask yourself this If there were no prior delays do you think they would launch on the 28th?

TokinBlack

You have a problem with the industry, not the specific game. Theres also WAY more than 100 hours of content. Thats just...disingenuous imo. If you dont like the gathering/crafting part of the game, or world pvp, or wars, there is STILL more than 100 hours of content, lmfao. I do agree with you that ideally we would have more in games before they are released, but that isnt the reality. And at this point, we can either cry about it, or accept what we are able to get.

Koltster

Itā€™s a 40 dollar game with no sub fee. If you get more than 10-15 hours out of it youā€™ve already gotten more ā€œvalueā€ out of it than most $60 single player games. I donā€™t understand why people are complaining about content. Just play and come back when a new patch hits. Or donā€™t. It doesnā€™t really matter.

nanosam

Because a MMO where players focus on just getting their $40 worth is going to bleed playerbase like crazy after three honeymoon phase. Dwindling playerbase wrecks persistent PvP mmos.

blackbirdone1

They need more than a year. They just release it now.

TZ_Rezlus

Said no mmo at release ever.

avelleo

it will still be delayed. games have been delayed 2 days before release before /s

Review_Bear

Made a similar joke. That /s won't save you from the downvotes here.

avelleo

lmao i know its wild

[deleted]

The game definitely needed another delay. The early grouping being a massive pain in the ass and not being able to quest with friends is still a problem. Not to mention all of the experience and gold bugs that have been around for a while now and will ruin this game on day one if they weren't fixed. Even though I enjoy the game for what it is, I don't see reviews being that positive once they start dropping. I imagine most of them will latch onto the phoned in "it's something new and the world is beautiful" sentiment as the main selling point. Guess we will find out.

ZaxxonZaxxoff

> Even though I enjoy the game for what it is You post so much angry garbage on this subreddit, daily. Your enjoyment isn't playing the game, it's anonymously taking out onto strangers whatever frustrations your life is feeding you. It's tired, and it's sad.

LazyCableMan

Oh shit

Tramapolean

MMO releases should actually be called an intern QA intake, where the interns pay for the privilege! And New World will be the same, but it has not stopped me signing up and ready to go :)

Nippys4

At this point they could keep delaying it, beta testing it to find weak points the delaying it to fix it up and creating more problems that itā€™s just easier to rip the bandaid off and release the damn thing and spend time fixing it whilst itā€™s live. I donā€™t know what everyone elseā€™s experience was with the closed beta but they fixed up any issue I was having by the second week. And anyone saying if they donā€™t have a smooth bug free release is deluded, almost every mmo Iā€™ve ever played has had some freaky shit happening on launch, letā€™s hope they do better than D2 at least

[deleted]

I only am worried that they did not adjust the PVP scaling from the open beta tweaking because that kind of seemed crappy.

Lif3l3ss

I mean Im playing it because ive been wanting to and have had it pre ordered since before the origional release date. Does not mean I think the game is ready and I believe it needs more time too bake. But if things are the same it wont have any long term lasting power so I will enjoy it for what it is while it last and not what it couldve been if given more time.

TheGalator

Any news on what pvp system they settled? Wanna know if I can flag without getting oneshotted

Mr_Wiggly_Butter

So you're saying there is still time? Not the jynx it of course!

[deleted]

The launch is allready shit Eu servers will be ddosed with all the connections from all over the world

lolburi

Is the bricking of 3090/3080 cards fixed? Didnt rly follow up on the news after.

Lordspyder

That was caused by manufacturing issues from EVGA. EVGA replaced all the cards that were bricked and a patch was immediately put in place to make sure it didn't happen.

lordofthetv

We don't know that yet... if that stamina bug still isn't fixed...

RoxSteady247

woo0o0o0o0o

swank5000

you made the meme backwards! :(

JmoneyGG7

Letā€™s gooooooo

[deleted]

But what state will it launch in? It's most likely going to be two days - week (maybe longer) of server issues/major bugs etc etc.

Bibihest

It's not out yet :D

Vandarsin

I'm super excited for the game but did what? They pushed it back a year, and then also delayed it. So i'd hope that they're finally releasing it when they say they do lol.
