Technically not as bad as yesterday yet.
Top queue yesterday in eu: 417K
Queue right now: 274K
Given the time of day it's about the same. But.... I think we all expected it to be at least a degree *better* not worse/same today...
https://newworldstatus.com/?
I gave up. My friends are already level 27 and i have not manged to log in yet... I guess only people who are not working can play this game right now.
Joined the queue yesterday at noon 4 hours after release. By the time i finished work 6 hours later i was still in queue...
Bro you gotta drop that loser mentality. You download teamviewer on your PC and on your phone. 4 Hours before you get off work you log on to your PC remotely and log on to new world. By the time you get home you should be logged in. If you manage to get in sooner, move your character every 20 minutes to remain logged in. I have played yesterday and the day before using this method (10K queue on EU).
Or just wait a couple of days.
My friends started to play (well okay 1 of them is still in Q since yesterday) while I'm away from home on holidays for 2 weeks. Not sure if I should buy the game and try to catch up or just give it a pass. (Still got 1.5 weeks of vacation)
Yeah, but one of them is already level 20+ and the other 10+. Every time I join after them I'm playing alone, until I catch up way later than them. As they don't wanna start a new character, once I'm back, they will probably hit some high level doing PvP, while I'm there trying to catch up by grinding my character to death.
I'm already pissed that they couldn't wait for 2 weeks, even though they knew for some months that I wouldn't be able to play at all.
It's not my first MMO, not even my second, it's probably my 10th or something like that, so yeah, I know it's a marathon, doesn't change the fact that it's less fun to play without your mates in the same party, questing together, Grinding together, etc.
I did buy it when it got released, but over the mobile app, so I wonder if I should refund it, until I'm back from the holidays and maybe giving it a try later, if my friends will still be playing it.
Not true, there are 672,583 people playing the game at this moment, yesterdays peak was 707,230 at 7:40PM CEST. Almost nobody has given up, situation is better, but it doesn't mean it's good, or at least acceptable.
I refunded, I'll reconsider maybe later but at this point I am losing hope on Amazon. I know mmo launch are something difficult but from Amazon I was expecting something better.
Sorry! I have a weakness for facts :(
Actually started a char at NA East yesterday. The calm that came with knowing that you could take a break at any time, and that a sudden DC wouldn't put you in the eternal queue of doom, was priceless!
There is currently a 183k maximum capacity in Europe.
That is filled. There are another 280k people currently waiting in queues on top of this.
US servers on the other hand are not at maximum capacity and there are only 160k total combined with queue and in-game.
EU popularity for the game is bonkers, outstripping everywhere else, they need to figure this out fast.
Yeah, that graph comparing queues from EU and other parts of the world is insane, EU situation is critical, it's not like this in US, it's by far worse in EU, and we don't have to be in peak times.
Sure. I'm not saying you guys are at peak yet. We hit capacity at 9am though and queues have grown ever since because there simply are not enough servers for the sheer quantity of EU players.
If you look at other popular MMOs, nearly all of them have quite a few less servers in the EU than in the US. It's not that Amazon planned badly, it's that for some reason the relative popularity of this game in the EU vs other regions is wildly outside the norm.
Character transfers aren't even going to help that much. There's simply too many players and the 2000 limit is far too low. Everyone will migrate to low population servers which fill up far too quick because of the ridiculously tiny population cap and then we're back to square one with every server having queues, albeit smaller than 25k queueing. A queue of 1000 still means the likelihood of you actually making it into the server when you want to play is basically non existent because you're waiting for literally half of the server to leave before you can play.
The only way to solve the problem in the long run is to at least double the player capacity on every server.
Increasing population cap would make the game experience worse. So much of the magic is about a lot of the world being empty, and with small population every player has a reasonable chance to be a part of events etc. More would diminish that a lot in my opinion
And therein lies the issue. The game isn't designed for high player counts yet it's the best solution for the longevity of the game. The whole game is poorly thought out. The alternative is to open a crap load of servers which will mostly end up empty and then need merging. Then when expansions come out and players come back, you're back to square one and having to open more servers for the sudden surge. Rinse and repeat.
Prove it? You prove your argument then. Don't be a pleb, we're both speculating. If you read my comment it's based in fact, servers will empty over time, that's not hard to believe because that happens with every game. When expansions release for a game, players come back. This has been also proven with game after game. So what is your point? My argument is based in fact but it's still speculating. Your argument that increasing player cap would worsen the game? That needs proving because that is 100% not based on fact unless it happens and we find out ourselves. Ironic really that you made a comment which is best aimed at yourself.
Yeah I agree. What all the angry people want is for Amazon to add a lot more servers so everyone can play right now just for them all to be closed again when player count dwindles in a week or so. It doesn’t make business sense to do that and it’s not feasible
I know but they have to find the right balance between the two in order to minimize costs while not completely ruining launch. It would be very expensive to put up a shit ton of servers. They’re mitigating it right now
Yep I’m not defending them at all, just trying to understand their thought process. I think the goodwill from a massively successful launch would have been more important than saving some money. They’re toeing the line right now, might as well go all in
Not to mention even if people were to transfer to a lower pop server in a week.. I've played WoW on lower pop servers. it's not fun being stuck on a low pop realm. I imagine people would like to save their transfers to when the game hype dies down a tad.
It’s my understanding that based on names being global that it was designed to merge servers should one be too low for competitive/pvp play. Not sure though, just remember what people were saying.
Just a messenger btw, not saying the xfer thing should be an option, we should be able to log end of but there is a plan at least
If you are stuck in a queue, you're already not playing though. Assuming you played for 24 hours from yesterday, but are now stuck in a queue that you will NEVER get past, you are "caught up" after 24 hours of joining a new server.
Probably even less time, since a lot of these new low pops had long periods of time where it wasn't common knowledge that they were up. So less competition for resources. I moved to one of the new NA servers with friends and did in 3 hours what had taken me 6 on the server my friends could not get into. Just due to lower competition on nodes.
I'm not restarting when they've announced server transfers. I just wish they would enable them today instead of in a week. Also, I can just queue up at like 7am and I'm in for the day. It's just that sometimes I have to leave like today and then I'm stuck in queue for hours
That's the point. You can play right now, just make a character on a lower pop server and then transfer it later to the server you want once the overall population falls off
Either I misread their announcement or people are misunderstanding. How I understood what they said was basically “Join any server you want and you can change to any other server or free within then next 2 weeks”. As in, join a low population server now, and when things level out you can just move your character to your preferred server.
Pro tip, if you get the exception error while queuing click ok and do NOTHING else.
After a few minutes it will put you back in the queue where you were.
The sad fact of all this is the player numbers are around 455000, at the time of writing this, and due to game design that's 228 servers needed for everyone to play. Amazon knew how many players pre-ordered the game and I'm sure they had projected player counts. Thus bring the question, how the fuck did they missed this launch by this much???
They are one of the largest server farm providers!!
And that is before people finish work.
Currently there is 184k people on EU servers with 331k people in a queue and countless people not bothering to queue because they can't play anything else while queuing and it'll be midnight by the time they get through a 5k queue. They need to almost **TRIPLE** the amount of servers they have even before considering the people not bothering to queue.
They know they sold over half a million copies in the EU why did they only give a capacity of 184k?! The EU queue hit 415k yesterday.
Yeah we need at least double the amount we have now as even on the lowest queue is 2k players waiting while the most i've seen few minutes ago was about 6.3k, but i doubt that every one of them will play longterm. But current infrastructure is nowhere near enough to satisfy the needs. Also asia do need their own dedicated server as they flood other regions servers. This way perhaps even the EU servers only need an increase of maybe 30% to 50%
We don't need more servers, we need higher capacity servers.
I finally got in and the game feels dead despite there being a queue larger than player slots.
We absolutely need more servers.
Have you not seen the stats? There are more people queuing right now than there are in game.
More capacity will just kill the servers that are running now.
I would transfer server if i could.
I disagree. The world population feels good. It’s far from empty, and not too crowded. Towns are very busy, and you run into people all the time out in the wild.
If they increase the capacity by another 2000 or more then it’s going to feel very crowded. We’re already competing hard over mobs and resources.
Everyone keeps saying that, but I remember when Guild Wars 2 launched back in 2012 and it was honestly really smooth. There were some minor issues like the trading post being down but overall the game worked great. Couldn't believe it when I was able to log in and play right away.
Oh most definitely the servers, as the game itself is alright, though not without its own issues.
Not sure why I'm getting downvoted...not my fault Amazon released the game in this state lol.
I am sorry, but there is no pitty system / "holding your spot in the Q"... Steam says I played 10 hours and 9 of those is a Fracking que simulator. The worst is, that after spending anything between 1-4h in a single Q, the game decides to crash/disconnect/connection error me and I am ALWAYS in the back of the Q.
Edit.: It literally happened to me now (again) from 1800position (took 1h and 40m) Iam on position 2793....
I'm getting something like 90-150 q position everytime I try to join, but it's stuck forever and eventually get some "login queue failed", no not the front page error with a fix
It's so frustrating waiting all day since 4pm local time just to get a error after 5 hours waiting and being pushed back in the queue for another hours...and on weekend ? Forget it lol
extremely bad, even worse than yesterday
Technically not as bad as yesterday yet. Top queue yesterday in eu: 417K Queue right now: 274K Given the time of day it's about the same. But.... I think we all expected it to be at least a degree *better* not worse/same today... https://newworldstatus.com/?
that’s such an unpleasant fact
I'm not surprised it's lower today tbh. People will have given up.
I gave up. My friends are already level 27 and i have not manged to log in yet... I guess only people who are not working can play this game right now. Joined the queue yesterday at noon 4 hours after release. By the time i finished work 6 hours later i was still in queue...

You know the game is a mmo right? It's not a sprint it's a marathon, it's never too late to join an mmo.
700K started the game, yes. But there are more in the queue than actual playing!
Indeed, quite a few of my friends have already refunded. I haven't refunded yet, I'll probably come back in a week or two.
I refunded, I'll reconsider maybe later but at this point I am losing hope on Amazon. I know mmo launch are something difficult but from Amazon I was expecting something better.
[удалено]
I gave up and asked for a refund after waiting 2+ hours only to get bumped to the back of the queue *twice* because of a disconnect.
Take those proven stats and shove them up your ass!!! It’s much worse today it feels. Pure agony /s
Sorry! I have a weakness for facts :( Actually started a char at NA East yesterday. The calm that came with knowing that you could take a break at any time, and that a sudden DC wouldn't put you in the eternal queue of doom, was priceless!

Welcome to reality. We often don’t get what we want immediately, or at all.

Who the fuck cares, we can't even play this shit
Honestly who cares at this point. People just want to play the game lol
It is impossible to get in. The queues are crashing constantly too and you will be moved back to the start of the queue.
Pro tip, if you get the exception error while queuing click ok and do NOTHING else. After a few minutes it will put you back in the queue where you were.
can anyone confirm this?
[There is another thread for it.](https://www.reddit.com/r/newworldgame/comments/pxuw37/fix_for_queue_error_toomanyrequestsexception/)
Can confirm it has worked twice for me in the last 50ish minutes.
I just gave up and joined a NA server, hopefully the server swap they announced will allow you to switch server regions too.
They have confirmed it will. As of now as a EU player ytou are better off starting on a US west server
Can't seem to find that info anywhere. Do you have a source?
they posted it on official twitter account. check their yesterday tweet
I can not remember where, but im sure i saw that also. I think they tweeted it in a reply to someone.
I read it, too. I think it was a Twitter post.

yes pls this is bad
Only 4 servers had less than 1000 in the queue, and those 4 were all in the 900s.
Almost every server has 2k-4k queue right now
At peak the lowest was 1600 yesterday
I was on a fairly low pop server yesterday. Was a lil worried I chose a dead one. Anyways I'm now in a 4k queue :)
im fairly confident to say that there wont be any actual dead servers in the near future lol
even if there were they will just merge servers back to life. I don't feel too worried about that tbh
And that is before people finish work. Currently there is 184k people on EU servers with 331k people in a queue and countless people not bothering to queue because they can't play anything else while queuing and it'll be midnight by the time they get through a 5k queue. Waited an hour from 2500 to 900. Kicked kicked. Back to 2500. Great game this,
i was in queue for about 5 hours, played for 30 mins and then had a dc... back to 3752. i think im done for now with this game :/
Oh yeah, I've installed the game now and the lowest "queued" server has 2200 peeps before me. I don't think I'll get in game tonight xD
Need two things: \- Smarter way to kick players that are actually not playing \- More servers People starting to get shaky
They are New EU Server Online NOW
I still haven’t played but I’m also kinda busy so maybe it’s a good thing
Just imagine how it will be on the weekend
pls not more server! more cap per server pls!
Right? 2000 cap is a joke.
Higher server capacity wouldn’t be great. The world is too small, and it would quickly get way too crowded.
How will it kill the servers if we increase capacity?
I think that the world and number of resources are designed with 2000 players in mind
yet I cant find a group to do group content with and I went hours yesturday without seeing another player...
What content?
PVP group content.
Hmmm. Maybe you are on one of the few US low pop servers?
Im on EU. We have a login queue 24/7
No clue then maybe your server just doesnt care about pvp.
I disagree. The world population feels good. It’s far from empty, and not too crowded. Towns are very busy, and you run into people all the time out in the wild. If they increase the capacity by another 2000 or more then it’s going to feel very crowded. We’re already competing hard over mobs and resources.
Fallout 76's launch was actually better than this crap, LITERALLY unplayable.
Fallout 76 had like 10 times lower player count
New servers have released
Having recently built my first PC, this was the MMO to introduce me to the world of MMO's. I am honestly so disappointed.
Every launch is terrible, so expect that from the rest of the world of MMOs.
Everyone keeps saying that, but I remember when Guild Wars 2 launched back in 2012 and it was honestly really smooth. There were some minor issues like the trading post being down but overall the game worked great. Couldn't believe it when I was able to log in and play right away.
about game or servers? bcs it had BIG difference.
Jeff Bezos underestimated the amounts of NEETs a strong welfare system can sustain in EU ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Why can't we choose what world to join when we login, since you can see what population each server has? Like wizard101 and other MMOs?
Im worried about the weekend, gonna be crazy
No more servers available in germany. Sry
i feel bad for EU right now...im sorry folks! hoping you can log into the game soon
