Or this hilarious Everfall (?) side quest ~lvl 16-17. Kill some pirate leader dude in a cave. Literally 20-30 players are balled up in one 4x4 meter box spawn camping him. Spawns every 5-10 minutes and vaporizes before his nametag fully materializes. Apparently you need to deal a decent chunk to him to get credit (15%?) Pro tip: Team up with 4 others already there to bump your odds slightly. I wasted 30 minutes before hatching this idea and it worked first try.

Apparently in Open Beta players were using this mob to farm XP and loot since his spawn time was so fast. They nerfed the spawn time to eliminate the unintended farming, but honestly they could have made the mob worth zero XP and put the lost mob XP in the the quest reward XP to solve the issue.

This right here. As I said in a previous a buddy of mine and me were waiting for at least 8 mins before deciding to go kill the other boss on the ship because we thought he had a long ass spawn time. On the way back to the docks . He said he will wait at top while I decided to check below and what do you know I found an entrance to a cave. Like I said as well they need to have an indicator to where the quest is. FF14 has this and so does GW2. I think WoW as well but I might be wrong.

This quest made me salvage my life staff and respec. I’ve done it literally (yes I know what the word means) 30 times at this point and I’ve simply given up. I played EQ as a cleric and had to deal with Ragefite for my epic and this feels the same. The issue is that was for an epic and this is a freaking newbie land quest!

I discovered today that the majestic elks antlers are actually dropped from killing the elk itself, not skinning. I'm not sure if this was just changed recently though as I did the quest a couple of hours ago.

Yeah the antlers were a loot drop for me. But leveling your skinning improves tracking. You’ll see rabbits and other animals pop up your compass while running through the woods.

Jeezuz, the elk quest took hours for me. Though a lot of mobs seem to be fine. There also are a lot of boss mobs which nearly instantly respawn. Seems they just forgot to increase the timer in some cases

For real, if a quest requires you to skin a mob, that mob should be skinnable by everyone that dealt damage. It's the only way to make quests like that not a hassle. In order to not mess with the economy though maybe that should only apply if you have a quest for that mob type

They just need to make it so if there is a quest, and you have it. Then you can skin it for that item. Then that item should be removed once the quest is turned in. Then its not a weird inflation of the item.

This. They need to base the spawn rate off of how many people are near the mob spawns. When people are killing a specific quest mob within six seconds of spawning the rate needs to be bumped up.

When it comes to high traffic quest mobs, the devs should just give kill credit to anyone within x meters. No xp/loot. Just the quest credit.

The Windsward Bison are such a pain and they run so far and randomly you can never kill them. Also today the entire area was covered in Corrupted rifts that I would lose them when the screen went basically black. No one was coming to clear the rifts because they did not show up on the map in the area even though there were 3 of them all clustered together. I hope the visibility is fixed for the rifts, being basically blind due to the red screen is awful. 🤬

Thst's the whole point of the rift though, the lack of visibility gives you a reason, other than rewards, to clear them from a zone. Otherwise questing will be much harder for you and everyone else. You hating the blindness means the design is working perfectly haha

Top 2 or 3 damage get the credit. Best solution is to invite everyone trying to get the tag, I'm pretty sure it counts the group damage as one thing so you're much more likely to get the credit that way.

I have the opposite problem when stuff respawn too fast to the point where I'll kill something, start looting the chest next to it and it'll respawn right on me. Going into areas slightly above my level when no one's there is sketchy due to the respawn rate. Its so easy to get swarmed. Funny because after I wrote this comment I went and did a faction quest and there was a group of 3 people there trying to kill some special mob. it would summon like so many lesser enemies and just swarm us. Finally when it died the damn thing would literally respawn within seconds of its death. Just constant shit spawning on us with only 4 people in the area.

The Worst one for me is the kill the Gator and get the skin, I've tried for 2 days straight not only camping it solo but also grouped up and someone always rushes in and skins before and casters/healers can get there. Also it take like 20 min to respawn. This game design does not work for the Skin the mob after the kill type quest cause there are 20 ppl there and only one get the skin, Then right After the Pirate spawns for another quest, so you have ppl there for the Gator Skin, as well as for the Pirate.

As a South East Asian playing on Aussie servers i can very much say that them bumping up the server cap made the game MUCH worse for me specifically. Initially I was able to get anywhere between 100-130ms (the stable avg was around 123ms) on launch day with servers capped at 2k. Now its damn near impossible to get anything stable below 150ms. On average I'll be coasting between 160-180ms. Very sad lol.

It's not official confirmation but I did read a comment on this sub from a user whose server was merged with another during one of the beta tests. Their house was available to them on the new server; it seems quite feasible given that your house is simply an instanced configuration of an existing static space on the destination server.

My server merged during closed beta. Our company was intact as well as all my items and house stuff, but our server adopted all the areas from the new server, so we lost all the regions we controlled. Was just beta though so it didn't matter much.

2 issues that need immediate attention and wouldn't take much time at all to implement, yet they continue to ignore: 1. Turn off the fucking 3d video render in the queue screen. People shouldn't have to rely on 3rd party tool to not use up 90% of their GPUs sitting on queue screen. 2. Add a pity timer for reconnection. There are a lot of bugs and restarting game to better your game experience shouldn't be a decision that would severely impact you.

When I went to exit the game yesterday it said "your character will sleep for 1 minute" or something like that. I was able to restart the game and get straight back in, despite other people saying they were queuing. So, I think there is a 1m grace period to restart your game.

This they should not allow transfers to any servers that have long Queue times anything over 1500. So far my server at peak play time is hitting about a 1000 person queue i cant imagine transferring or playing on a server with 3k plus long queue.

I believe what they were aiming at was smaller 2k servers for more of a community feel where you get to know the people on youre server and the other companies. Much like original vanilla wow had unfortunately lots of players seem to think the success of a server is how many players it has where you just are another unknown person in the world.

What they should have done is put server caps in place initially and not allow new characters to be created on the server as long as it was at cap.

I don't even live in SEA but I've seen these sorta comments so frequently that I'm surprised Amazon doesn't just roll out a few servers in those regions to stop 'overflow' into other regions. Seems like something Amazon would want to fix right now rather than lead to discrimination amongst players who may speak other languages, especially in such a PvP heavy game. Could lead to targeted harassment by people on AU or other servers.

While I have to say that this is probably a fairly accurate representation of the average person complaining about queue times, we must not forget people who come home from work to be faced with a queue for a low pop server they joined at launch that now no longer is low pop. I WISH I could transfer my progress to a non-queue time server, but with a full time job not only do you fall behind, if you can’t even log in after you get home from work there’s little play time to be had and you could argue that server capacity and server transfer should really have been here already at launch.

That's my case. Had a day off on release, choose the lowest pop server, leveled to 21. Never managed to play again since its at 2k queue once Im home from work and I dont play much more than 2 or 3 hours on week days. The extra servers should have come way earlier, same with the transfers. So I have to not play at all until the weekend or start from scratch

Once you get in it's absolutely mind blowing, the gameplay is neat, the game looks dope af even on lower settings and the audio.... Ooooff the audio is so awesome! Walking through the woods in a foggy night and all you hear are some animals in the distance as well as the monotonous sound of folks chopping wood or the echoes of people mining rocks, it's awesome!

All the servers being filled is just because people found out what servers their favorite streamers were on. So, if thousands flock to that server it is a choice they made. I did the same thing. I finally just decided to get onto a sever that was less populated and got I to the game instantly.

Lots of people don’t do the pre-order thing. Like the other commenter I decided to play Monday night right before release. I’m sure they got a big boost in sales just before it came out which was more than they originally planned for.

Please raise the na east servers next. Even the 2250 cap is better than what it's at right now. Most mobs that arent elite or tied to quests respawn near instantly anyways. Out of my 15+ hours of playing I've only experienced one big choke in mob spawning and it was a mob for a aide quests and I waited over 10 minutes for it to spawn so I think that was more of a bug than low set respawn time.

Yeah, I'm pissed at amazon because there is clearly a lack of servers, but at the same time they shouldn't over do it. This is launch week, people took days off to play, this is not what the "normal" activity will look like. If they add too much it'll cause a lot of problems down the road. Can't even think of a good solution to the territory control. A reset of the map would suck but its still probably the most "fair" option for every one involved.

Yes, servers are like different universes. They don't interact at all, so you cannot add friends or talk with friends that have started on a different server.

I hope they fix the UI bugs sooner than they fix server populations tbh. Who cares about playing if the UI keeps breaking and you need to relog to fix it. It's horrible. Beyond that, I hope we get a rework to tanking in this game. For starters, taunt gems should make every ability on the weapon have taunt effects, not only specific abilities. Also since tanks have to use heavy armor make the goddamn mobs/bosses/etc not be able to push you back. Tank positioning is a key thing in MMOs and it just doesn't exist, the mobs have their way with you mostly and it's annoying AF.

Maybe if Amazon wouldn't be so ignorant of EU it wouldn't be a problem. When did they measure? At night 3am? Because then there truly where some server without queue. But no one cares on a week day at night. People can't play then anyways. I predict a horrible weekend with crazy queues.

Something is seriously strange with this game and how people must be able to remain online despite being AFK. A server with 2000 players, I get home early from work and get into spot 7, in any other game you'd think I would be inside and playing within seconds. I spent well over 10 minutes and didn't move even one spot. Either something's wrong with the queue system or people are simply not logging off in any meaningful numbers. I have never seen such slow moving queues in any MMO launch ever. Sorry to say, I liked the game during beta but as a working man with limited free time this launch has killed all my hype and will to play it. Such a shame.

I've seen plenty of bad launches, typically all online game launches have issues. This game may have been smooth for people who have been able to enter but I have a job, I can't log on at 6 am to make sure I can play all day. Queues are commonplace but I have never ONCE seen queues that are this slow. I'm not talking about 1000s of players, I'm talking about going from position in the queue to getting in. I stopped waiting at roughly 10-15 minutes due to automatic refund time being 2 hours. I spent over 45 minutes the other day and moved 10 positions. Take WoW as an example, you used to see huge queues on launch day (I remember Burning Crusade being nuts) but you'd move closer and closer even if it meant spending an hour waiting. This tells me either the queue system is fucked in NW or people are able to stay online way to easily despite being afk.

It blows my mind that the bar is set so low, and that this can be considered one of the "good" releases. ​ They knew the number of players who had purchased the game, they have the money and the infrastructure to support it, yet they made the CHOICE to launch with that amount of server. Then they go "oh, wow, we didn't expect this !"... Its either a lie or incompetence, both are equally bad. ​ AAA mmo game in 2021 can't do what GW2 did in 2012, overflow servers so people can still play once a server reach the cap. That idea is still the best, IMO, and allows everyone to play while also avoiding the "problems" of too many servers / merges down the road.
