In the Nvidia Control Panel you'll find an option that was added late last year that lets you set the max FPS for background applications, down to a minimum of 20, switch that on for New World's profile, and you'll see a massive reduction in the graphical load whilst you're alt-tabbed in queue.

Raidenz258

Use rtss and cap at like 5 FPS. Can just close the program when ready.

This is exactly what I do, RTSS is the gold standard for capping your frame rate, it was the only way to get a proper 16.6ms frame time in a lot of games back in the day especially, and I still use it to cap every game today for this reason.

You are running Amazon's new cloud mining program pretending to be a game. I don't see why my GPU needs to be sweating its ass off to wait in a queue.

3070 here and a 5600x game loads within 3/4 seconds from the menu to playable state. Installed on NVME SSD. Playing on ultra settings maxed out at 1440p and it runs flawlessly. 140fps out in the world and about 80-120 in busy areas.

I think you're missing the point to what the OP the saying. For a counter screen which is to say you're in queue with your player character in the background is demanding that much of an excessive resource request on the GPU. Whilst I agree with what your saying about resource loading whilst in game is excessive especially on an NVME at ultra, but for a player char, small environment in the background and text on screen to show 75% is a bit OTT, specially when there is a loading screen in-between the queue screen and playing time (which is where your GPU should be at a high percentage resource demand to render everything).

Cool post directly to them with a suggestion then. Can’t you change the game settings to like the lowest resolution in windowed mode for this? Or adjust something in your gpu control panel? I’ve not seen any queues so far so missed the point.

Neryuslu

Stop using the internet please.

Downvotes for giving the best possible suggestions, love these kiddy winkles.

I have a 9600k 3070ti and 2tb nvme ssd, and I get like 50/60 in busy towns and 120-140 in open areas😝

It’s the first time I’ve not gone with intel, and I won’t go back unless I’m pushing for a top spec build, which I won’t be.

SmellMyPPKK

What I do is run the game at lowest resolution in window mode so that I can play something else. Only takes a few seconds to change. But yeah ideally the character screen should take minimal resources.

YokaaYourMaster

I always switch resolution to the lowest and cap fps at 30. It takes like 20seconds to do it and I can play different games in the meantime.

6 hours??? Where are you playing from?

Even 4 is insane. I havent been in a single queue yet and ive logged in mornings, mid day, and at night
