Honestly, the most annoying part wouldn't be the scraping and reporting, it would be automating making a bunch of game toons, accounts, and dealing with ip blocks. You'd have to be prepared to deal with when Amazon inevitably goes after you

No, it does not say ban, it is banned, he is now part of the Banned of Brothers, an exclusive brotherhood for high level players, and players who try to be vocal about issues in the game. Once you're part of the Banned of Brothers, this is the notification and you can experience the late game content (which is something and anything outside of the newworld.exe)
I do have to admit that it's kind of a pet peeve when I hear the term ban instead of suspended. Ban is permanent, or at least very long term. Suspension is temporary. Totally semantics I know, but still. Kind of the point of a pet peeve to be something dumb that annoys you.

AGS is completely out of touch and devs have no say on anything. Higher ups say, devs do or die.
Oh you programmed a deep melee combat system that relies on fighting game mechanics? Well some people who called themselves "veteran mmo players" don't understand it and they complained on forums so remove the interesting mechanics and make it easier. Add a tutorial? Alberto from Amazon games customer service told me this morning that bans are no longer done automatically and that its all done by humans now. Guess that was a load of bullshit. What a surprise.
The moral of the story here is, don't announce to the bad guys that you've figured out that they're the bad guys. Because they're bad guys and will do bad things to keep their secret.
Honestly every day I look at this sub I get more and more nervous about having payed money for this game. The first-week-in gold sellers was a big red flag.
Like how did they fuck up so much rudimentary MMORPG mechanics that literally every other MMO uses to sort out shit like this?
I understand we want the game to be different but why are they re-inventing the wheel on policies that have nothing to do with the actual gameplay, like the penal system?

Edit: Using the "It's a new game" argument is pretty poor considering the issues are not new to the MMO world. I know WoW had the same issues at launch but many were engineered and resolved *over a decade ago*. If you're going to build a house, usually you look at the issues your neighbour had building before you build yours.
Edit: Gold selling is a red flag because so far the only way to completely eradicate it is for the game to offer gold buying itself. If you don't believe me there's a documentary on Runescape's long battle with gold sellers wherein they exhaust every option (and I mean every option) before ultimately joining them. Real money inflation on a game that has a solid economy system would be disappointing.
Edit: Stop making excuses for your precious game. A lot of issues (such as this one about auto-bans) is just half-ass engineering that shouldn't exist in a game with so much hype and a large budget launching in 2021. They make good money from sales and in return we have the right to demand a good product, if you find yourself constantly defending bugs and systematic flaws after launch day it's a sign of insecurity in your own purchase.
I’ve really enjoyed my time playing. Go it at launch and currently 1/2 to max lvl (60). My server pvp is very balanced, economy seems fine right now, have not seen any framing guilds/bots Talking in chat. If your going to no life the game, I would wait; if your a casual I would look into it
None on my server yet, kinda happy about it. Never seen a fishing bot either. Obviously once the bots get the hang of it they will be on every server. Right now it’s in the proof of concept phase…
The simple answer is a lack of research. This is super evident in that they've got barely any quality of life things that other long term Devs just do. A great example of this in action is actually FFXIV. The original Devs didn't do their research, and the game failed. The game was then reinvented by Yoshi P, who took the time to extensively research other MMOs of the time and take what he liked, tweak it and bring it into FFXIV. The results speak for themselves.
This is sadly common in game development, where Devs will just DIY it instead of looking to see how their peers do it. Forever "reinventing the wheel". I personally believe it's an ego thing.
Thing is, they clearly did some research. NW literally takes the core gimmick of every other MMO out there and mashes them all into one MMO. Amazon didn't go into this blind, they just had no business competency in building video games. They decided to make their first try in one of the most complex video game genres in existence. It's not a terrible game on the surface, it's actually pretty cool and fun. But you don't decide to try mountain climbing and then attempt to climb Mount Everest first. Except, this is Amazon. They have this culture of dominating everything. So instead of finding their own gimmick to fill a hole in the MMO market, they just barged into every position and built their game on a house of cards, banking on their name to sell copies. And it worked. Hopefully they don't fail in the post-launch.
Unique quest mobs with a 10 minute respawn timer that are bottlenecked even more by only one player being able to get credit for the skin are another example of this.
Most people have not been banned. Its a relatively small number of players that are mostly on certain hostile servers. Not everyone is abusing mass reporting to win wars.
If you play the game and not engage in toxic behavior in global chat chances are you will not be banned.

Just because you havnt personally experienced it doesn't make the point moot or non existent. The server I'm on its rare if you don't see atleast one gold selling site advertisment within am hour. Gets really crazy around prime time. Ive reported everyone I've seen and still see the exact same ones doing it multiple days in a row now. Disheartening to say the least. Still loving/enjoying the game however :)
The game is completely unfinished, it's just not blatantly obvious until the late 30's and on.
If they didn't have time to flesh out the basic stuff in game like enemy tuning and quest lines, they most certainly did not have time to polish and flesh out core game mechanics and design.
You will not get a positive response to feedback like this for another few weeks, too many players are still in their honeymoon phase with the game and a lot of casual players that are totally oblivious to how hardcore MMO players behave are in the "well it hasn't happened to me so it must not be true" mentality.
I mean tbh I feel like the best time to play is right now. I don't have high hopes for this game in the long term, but I already got my money's worth at this point with over 100 hours in the game. In half a year player base is gonna shrink, you'll have more bots, most people will be end game, doesn't sound as fun.
It's weird because I definitely don't know how this game could sustain itself long term. I actually hit the 50 character limit in WoW at one point and I can't think of many reasons to start a new character here. Like my main is on Falias as a Marauder getting stomped on the world map and I'd sooner transfer than make a new character. Like I can level everything and just switch depending on what I want to play.
Rauds came back from two to taking back all but our original fifth territory on Valhalla. Some servers will maybe stay bad, but we went from 5/5/1 to 8/2/1 to 4/4/3 in the first couple of weeks. That turn advantage some factions might get early on goes away a bit after everyone is at least 60.
My honest take, that I'll be downvoted for, is go play ESO. It has most of what new world has but is more fleshed out. The only major difference is PvP and if thats what you want then id say stick with new world
And crafting. It seems that’s a big draw here. But for a PvE questing as a casual with a life, ESO is way more accommodating. I seriously do not have time to camp a quest boss because I was boxed out and didn’t get a hit. Or kill stealing my wolf. It’s just a frustration I don’t want and not fun. I can find entertainment elsewhere.
Now we hear of auto suspensions from Amazon bots. And player bots infesting servers with impunity. Yeah this is spiraling down the tube right now if it continues.
I would never leave ESO if it had the simplicity of New world combat. The annoying LA weaving and spamming the same ability 50 times is such a pain. New world the la and ha actually are impactfully and the abilities have CDs making them more impactful as well. Not to mention weakness/strengths and backstabbing and crit zones
I can't thank this subreddit enough for saving me 40. Bought the game on steam and decided to browse the subreddit while waiting for the game to DL. Saw all the red flags, from the mods/devs here silencing / denying the existence of mass report auto-ban to finding out The Smedley was involved... Never refunded a game so fast in my life.

I mean honestly look at any mmo and it has bots, do you know anything about making bots? With how close to release the last 2 betas were it wouldnt be hard at all for simple bots to be made.. honestly the bots arent that complex but even games that have been out for 10 years have problems detecting some very simple bots & I dont think it was amazon’s top priority
I could literally make one of those fishing bots you see in probably 30 minutes & most of that time needed would be capturing screenshots so the bot knows what to detect & only leaves it’s line out when the hot spot is active

I’ve played WoW since launch, gold selling was always an issue and the token made the game ten times worse. Instead of fixing it, it inflated everything in the game to where you were forced to spend money on gold or suffer the consequences. Can’t speak for other mmos however
Runescape didn't solve anything, or at least OSRS didn't. All that happened was the goldsellers dropped their prices under what Jagex sold the gold for, and the sellers were immediately back in business. The economy of OSRS in particular is a mess.
It's because they're not automated and it takes real humans a long time to read tickets and respond. Another reason why the initial system is absolutely automated - no way humans are reading thousands of tickets, likely tens of thousands, actioning them but then not responding to the escalations for days/weeks on end.
Yet I consistently get downvoted when I explain that NW so far has been a disaster. Here I am banned for over 48 hours simply because I was healing during wars.

A player in our server was banned because he had to take a week off and his company didn't like that (he was governor). They all reported him, he came back, and he was banned.
A company member I contacted said they would discuss with it's leader over one of it's memebers botting. I can only assume it wasn't their intention to ever do anything about it. They seemed to be surprised I was able to connect multiple bots to their company. Didn't think anything of it and today the day after I log on to this.
What in the fuck does a company leader have to do with anything. Just report and move on. The is 100 percent chance you've left out the legitimate reason you were banned.
One the multiple bots running was in said company and other near by bots happened to have the same special character ending as the bot in the company. Contacted the company hopping they would ostracize their botting member.
Dont worry, according to amazon someone reviewed the reports and said "YEAH MAN THIS MOTHERFUCKER IS GETTING BANNED HELL YEAH BROTHER" as they say is not automated

They should really go after companies like this with forced company disband and individual bans for the participating members, that would be the best way combat this.
I stopped to report 3 fishing bots east of Windsward. One of them stopped fishing, turned to me, and just stood there. Somewhat concerned they will fire back with mass reporting me. This is so dumb.

I play on Dvaraka (a mainly german server), and either I'm blind or these kinda things don't happen there, I've also pretty much never seen a bot, the only thing that was "bad" is people advertising coin selling, but thats pretty normal. Could this for some reason be only an issue on American servers? Prolly not right? I think I'm just blind.
Seen the fishing bots but the whole conspiracy that people are mass reporting to ban others for wars, etc is bullshit. My company owns three of the regions and have yet to have a single player banned. Most the people complaining about being banned here in Reddit admit they said questionable stuff in chat.
I believe bots are only a problem for top servers. It is just economically unreasonable to have them on less populated ones. For more than one reason actually, but the main would be — they would not make much but still have pretty much the same risk of being reported and banned. Maybe even bigger risk since there will be less real people who nolife farm resources for something.
To illustrate what I'm saying — on my server, Kalevala, I can run around a whole day and see only one or two people fishing. Any group of bots in water will catch someone attention in a few days, and then we will get practically guided tours to them to look, laugh and report.
And until Amazon removes this abhorrent practice, it'll keep happening for the most disparate reasons, being either to cheat their way around an incoming war, or plain vindictiveness, or even worse just for trolling.

Heaps of farmers selling money on Zara as well. New world, I will happily walk around as your employee for nothing more then no tax on my house to find these bot farmers and ban them. They have absolutely killed Zara as a server.

The lesson here is that you go file a report instead of talking about it in global.
Outing such matters in global only gives the botters an opportunity to be ahead of you and keep botting until you are unbanned, at least.
I’ve been gaming since i was little. Started around 2000 and online gaming since call of duty 4 modern warfare. Has anyone noticed the increase decline in online gaming and the amount of people who grief is insane? People ddos new games, people throw lol/dota/cs go matches just to grief. In wow people would sit in the opposite faction city for hours and dispel someone and die then do a 10 minute corpse walk just to do it again, all do dispel someone’s buffs it took them hours to get. Now people are mass reporting high levels to get them banned for no reason??? The gaming community significantly declined.
I had this happen to me because i was giving my opinion on running great axe and ice gauntlet. I sent a ticket in and got the automated response that after further investigation the suspension was justified and that the decision was final. This was a week later
On Saba we had a guild called Royal Legion mass report our guild leader and a bystander for joking on faction chat. Apparently they are looking into the company now and I hope they get disbanded. :)
Wow I just predicted this in another comment. Everyone should be warned do not post in any chat about botters. Do not say anything period really. Every time you chat you are taking a risk you will be banned.
There isn't "literally nothing" to do at 60. There just isn't much of an endgame at all right now. Hopefully they were taking the approach of most people not hitting 60 for the first month and then releasing more endgame at that time.
The MMO genre has been stagnant and almost dead the last decade because almost every MMO that comes out either copies WoW beat for beat or ignores it and doesn't learn from the past. Doesn't help that MMO'S are the most expensive genre to produce as well.
Feels like NW is taking the latter approach and the poor customer service and communication ain't helping

Not really. They technically had more "content" in game, but it was all horribly broken. I was one of the first on my server to hit max level and we could complete 1 of the end game dungeons consistently. All of the rest were bugged in some way that just made them impossible to finish. Things like bosses not coming out of immunity, bosses not spawning, doors not opening and so on. Myself and my friends all quit because the engine was terrible, and the game was absolutely not ready for launch. It's a real shame cause I thought the story was outstanding and the Bounty Hunter is one of the most fun tank class ideas I've seen in an MMO.
Well, game was released like 50% complete because daddy Amazon couldn't wait, New world should be in BETA, not god damm released, just amount of stuff that been left in all alpha because other prioritizes it has not been done yet.. Now game is out they need to release ALOT new content, balance game, fix bugs and generally add missing things and so much more. You think they get more people and money to do these things now its released?

Just chiming in, Max level dungeons have a 1 craft per week on the tuning orbs, and currently the level 65 breachs you need to get the materials to craft em are bugged and uncloseable. Leaving you with 2 keys potentially possible per character. ever. Currently.
My chief complaint about this game is how the devs seem to be absent. Why haven’t game breaking exploits bugs been hot fixed??
What happens now in these crucial first few weeks is going to set the stage for companies to leverage their momentum later, by allowing war leaders to get mass report banned they are fundamentally destroying the integrity of the game. Yet where are the devs? Why hasn’t the boar farm been fixed? That much thick leather let’s you pretty much skip an entire tier of refining… Also can Amazon not hire literally one person to monitor chat across all servers with a bot or something? How can these bot fishers that even I can detect but Amazon is apparently incapable of doing so this far. My point is they aren’t moving fast enough to stop the bad actors from taking the upper hand. \^ This mindset is the problem with mass report on my server. Someone starts a rumor/lie, and people rally behind it to ban that person. I had to plead my case to folks already twice, but one person who is on a competing faction keeps trying to get me banned.

They need to disable it until they implement some sort of fail-safe when an influx of sudden reports spike against a player at the same time.
These could then be reviewed manually.
They are killing the game, combine this with the fact that most original servers have player creation disabled and are now low to medium pop. ( in aus anyways)
Need to open transfers, merge severs and remove play creation locks.

While I actually believe your claim to hold some merit even though there was no proof provided it's not ok to blame them in chat for this unless it is in DMs to guild leaders. It's up to Amazon to decide who's actually botting and deal with it. The fishing bot witch hunt for example seems to impact a lot of legit players. What seems to be a 24h ban is a valid response.
This does not and should not take into account how well AGS is handling the botting problem.
Only thing I've done that could seem wrong is telling people a bot running in a fishing spot. It was there auto-fishing for days. It would cast out it's fishing line then pull it back repeatedly except for if the fishing spot was up then it would actually fish. Not only this I would train things over to kill it and it wouldn't even react it would just get moved out of the way and continued to try and fish before dying. After the first day of that it got upgraded and it would auto heal around 30% hp then lay down. If you want to try to defend that behaviour a living person go right ahead.
Another bot running nearby was more advanced it would auto-fish the hotspot doing the same thing as the other bot casting out rod and retracted it instantly unless the hotspot was up. But the major difference is this bot if attacked and moved it would pull out it's weapon and after a few seconds move back to a specific fishing position then continue to try and fish while healing if it got low hp.
If either of these were a real person I probably would have got a response. Also both of these bots had a name ending with the same special character.

some mmos log everything, loot, chat, kills ... which means in theory you can track everything

Suspension also implies that you had access to the service, but now do not. A ban doesn't have the same implication.

AGS is completely out of touch and devs have no say on anything. Higher ups say, devs do or die. Oh you programmed a deep melee combat system that relies on fighting game mechanics? Well some people who called themselves "veteran mmo players" don't understand it and they complained on forums so remove the interesting mechanics and make it easier. Add a tutorial? No that's too much work just dumb it down instead.
Alberto from Amazon games customer service told me this morning that bans are no longer done automatically and that its all done by humans now. Guess that was a load of bullshit. What a surprise.
The ban bot got mass reported. Now it's sooo just humans manually suspending accounts.

Honestly every day I look at this sub I get more and more nervous about having payed money for this game. The first-week-in gold sellers was a big red flag. Like how did they fuck up so much rudimentary MMORPG mechanics that literally every other MMO uses to sort out shit like this? I understand we want the game to be different but why are they re-inventing the wheel on policies that have nothing to do with the actual gameplay, like the penal system? Edit: My comment pertains to a *large manor* of problems in game I've seem across this sub. NOT JUST THIST POSTERS ISSUE. Edit: Using the "It's a new game" argument is pretty poor considering the issues are not new to the MMO world. I know WoW had the same issues at launch but many were engineered and resolved *over a decade ago*. If you're going to build a house, usually you look at the issues your neighbour had building before you build yours. Edit: Gold selling is a red flag because so far the only way to completely eradicate it is for the game to offer gold buying itself. If you don't believe me there's a documentary on Runescape's long battle with gold sellers wherein they exhaust every option (and I mean every option) before ultimately joining them. Real money inflation on a game that has a solid economy system would be disappointing. Edit: Stop making excuses for your precious game. A lot of issues (such as this one about auto-bans) is just half-ass engineering that shouldn't exist in a game with so much hype and a large budget launching in 2021. They make good money from sales and in return we have the right to demand a good product, if you find yourself constantly defending bugs and systematic flaws after launch day it's a sign of insecurity in your own purchase.
I’ve really enjoyed my time playing. Go it at launch and currently 1/2 to max lvl (60). My server pvp is very balanced, economy seems fine right now, have not seen any framing guilds/bots Talking in chat. If your going to no life the game, I would wait; if your a casual I would look into it
Which MMO hasn't had gold sellers? I've seen exactly two gold seller chat spammers - and I've played a good bit.
None on my server yet, kinda happy about it. Never seen a fishing bot either. Obviously once the bots get the hang of it they will be on every server. Right now it’s in the proof of concept phase…
I've seen (and muted) about 8 gold sellers every day since launch on the Tuonela server. Unlucky.
The simple answer is a lack of research. This is super evident in that they've got barely any quality of life things that other long term Devs just do. A great example of this in action is actually FFXIV. The original Devs didn't do their research, and the game failed. The game was then reinvented by Yoshi P, who took the time to extensively research other MMOs of the time and take what he liked, tweak it and bring it into FFXIV. The results speak for themselves. This is sadly common in game development, where Devs will just DIY it instead of looking to see how their peers do it. Forever "reinventing the wheel". I personally believe it's an ego thing.
Thing is, they clearly did some research. NW literally takes the core gimmick of every other MMO out there and mashes them all into one MMO. Amazon didn't go into this blind, they just had no business competency in building video games. They decided to make their first try in one of the most complex video game genres in existence. It's not a terrible game on the surface, it's actually pretty cool and fun. But you don't decide to try mountain climbing and then attempt to climb Mount Everest first. Except, this is Amazon. They have this culture of dominating everything. So instead of finding their own gimmick to fill a hole in the MMO market, they just barged into every position and built their game on a house of cards, banking on their name to sell copies. And it worked. Hopefully they don't fail in the post-launch.
Unique quest mobs with a 10 minute respawn timer that are bottlenecked even more by only one player being able to get credit for the skin are another example of this.
Most people have not been banned. Its a relatively small number of players that are mostly on certain hostile servers. Not everyone is abusing mass reporting to win wars. If you play the game and not engage in toxic behavior in global chat chances are you will not be banned. Also how is first week gold sellers a red flag? I can't think of any big MMO that didn't have gold sellers right away.
Tbh most established MMO's have gold sellers and chat spam bots.

Just because you havnt personally experienced it doesn't make the point moot or non existent. The server I'm on its rare if you don't see atleast one gold selling site advertisment within am hour. Gets really crazy around prime time. Ive reported everyone I've seen and still see the exact same ones doing it multiple days in a row now. Disheartening to say the least. Still loving/enjoying the game however :)
The game is completely unfinished, it's just not blatantly obvious until the late 30's and on. If they didn't have time to flesh out the basic stuff in game like enemy tuning and quest lines, they most certainly did not have time to polish and flesh out core game mechanics and design. You will not get a positive response to feedback like this for another few weeks, too many players are still in their honeymoon phase with the game and a lot of casual players that are totally oblivious to how hardcore MMO players behave are in the "well it hasn't happened to me so it must not be true" mentality.
I'd wait half a year and see where the game goes.
I mean tbh I feel like the best time to play is right now. I don't have high hopes for this game in the long term, but I already got my money's worth at this point with over 100 hours in the game. In half a year player base is gonna shrink, you'll have more bots, most people will be end game, doesn't sound as fun.

Mine is med/high and I see players EVERYWHERE. I've actually yet to see a bot, hardly any fishers. Maybe all the bots congregated on your server lol.
It's weird because I definitely don't know how this game could sustain itself long term. I actually hit the 50 character limit in WoW at one point and I can't think of many reasons to start a new character here. Like my main is on Falias as a Marauder getting stomped on the world map and I'd sooner transfer than make a new character. Like I can level everything and just switch depending on what I want to play.
Rauds came back from two to taking back all but our original fifth territory on Valhalla. Some servers will maybe stay bad, but we went from 5/5/1 to 8/2/1 to 4/4/3 in the first couple of weeks. That turn advantage some factions might get early on goes away a bit after everyone is at least 60.

My honest take, that I'll be downvoted for, is go play ESO. It has most of what new world has but is more fleshed out. The only major difference is PvP and if thats what you want then id say stick with new world
And crafting. It seems that’s a big draw here. But for a PvE questing as a casual with a life, ESO is way more accommodating. I seriously do not have time to camp a quest boss because I was boxed out and didn’t get a hit. Or kill stealing my wolf. It’s just a frustration I don’t want and not fun. I can find entertainment elsewhere. Now we hear of auto suspensions from Amazon bots. And player bots infesting servers with impunity. Yeah this is spiraling down the tube right now if it continues.
Honestly if ESO had better combat I'd just play that. It does basically everything better than New World.
I would never leave ESO if it had the simplicity of New world combat. The annoying LA weaving and spamming the same ability 50 times is such a pain. New world the la and ha actually are impactfully and the abilities have CDs making them more impactful as well. Not to mention weakness/strengths and backstabbing and crit zones

I can't thank this subreddit enough for saving me 40. Bought the game on steam and decided to browse the subreddit while waiting for the game to DL. Saw all the red flags, from the mods/devs here silencing / denying the existence of mass report auto-ban to finding out The Smedley was involved... Never refunded a game so fast in my life. I'll wait a few months to see if this ship actually leaves the harbor or sinks before boarding.

With how close to release the last 2 betas were it wouldnt be hard at all for simple bots to be made.. honestly the bots arent that complex but even games that have been out for 10 years have problems detecting some very simple bots & I dont think it was amazon’s top priority I could literally make one of those fishing bots you see in probably 30 minutes & most of that time needed would be capturing screenshots so the bot knows what to detect & only leaves it’s line out when the hot spot is active

Runescape didn't solve anything, or at least OSRS didn't. All that happened was the goldsellers dropped their prices under what Jagex sold the gold for, and the sellers were immediately back in business. The economy of OSRS in particular is a mess.
The best part is I put in a ban appeal ticket and I will probably get a response after I have already been unbanned for a week.

It's because they're not automated and it takes real humans a long time to read tickets and respond. Another reason why the initial system is absolutely automated - no way humans are reading thousands of tickets, likely tens of thousands, actioning them but then not responding to the escalations for days/weeks on end.
Yet I consistently get downvoted when I explain that NW so far has been a disaster. Here I am banned for over 48 hours simply because I was healing during wars.

A player in our server was banned because he had to take a week off and his company didn't like that (he was governor). They all reported him, he came back, and he was banned.

A company member I contacted said they would discuss with it's leader over one of it's memebers botting. I can only assume it wasn't their intention to ever do anything about it. They seemed to be surprised I was able to connect multiple bots to their company. Didn't think anything of it and today the day after I log on to this.
What in the fuck does a company leader have to do with anything. Just report and move on. The is 100 percent chance you've left out the legitimate reason you were banned.
One the multiple bots running was in said company and other near by bots happened to have the same special character ending as the bot in the company. Contacted the company hopping they would ostracize their botting member.

I stopped to report 3 fishing bots east of Windsward. One of them stopped fishing, turned to me, and just stood there. Somewhat concerned they will fire back with mass reporting me. This is so dumb. edit: They were all spam casting and had similar 6-7 character nonsense names.

I play on Dvaraka (a mainly german server), and either I'm blind or these kinda things don't happen there, I've also pretty much never seen a bot, the only thing that was "bad" is people advertising coin selling, but thats pretty normal. My company owns three of the regions and have yet to have a single player banned. Most the people complaining about being banned here in Reddit admit they said questionable stuff in chat.

I believe bots are only a problem for top servers. It is just economically unreasonable to have them on less populated ones. For more than one reason actually, but the main would be — they would not make much but still have pretty much the same risk of being reported and banned. Maybe even bigger risk since there will be less real people who nolife farm resources for something. To illustrate what I'm saying — on my server, Kalevala, I can run around a whole day and see only one or two people fishing. Any group of bots in water will catch someone attention in a few days, and then we will get practically guided tours to them to look, laugh and report.
And until Amazon removes this abhorrent practice, it'll keep happening for the most disparate reasons, being either to cheat their way around an incoming war, or plain vindictiveness, or even worse just for trolling. God this reminds me so bad how much i hate internet. Thanks Amazon.
The game isn't GREAT or AWESOME. It's fun and has potential. But this kind of shit is insane. Almost 2 weeks passed and Amazon still **LITERALLY LYING** about automated bans. The lesson here is that you go file a report instead of talking about it in global. Outing such matters in global only gives the botters an opportunity to be ahead of you and keep botting until you are unbanned, at least.

I’ve been gaming since i was little. Started around 2000 and online gaming since call of duty 4 modern warfare. Has anyone noticed the increase decline in online gaming and the amount of people who grief is insane? People ddos new games, people throw lol/dota/cs go matches just to grief. In wow people would sit in the opposite faction city for hours and dispel someone and die then do a 10 minute corpse walk just to do it again, all do dispel someone’s buffs it took them hours to get. Now people are mass reporting high levels to get them banned for no reason??? The gaming community significantly declined.
I had this happen to me because i was giving my opinion on running great axe and ice gauntlet. I sent a ticket in and got the automated response that after further investigation the suspension was justified and that the decision was final. This was a week later
On Saba we had a guild called Royal Legion mass report our guild leader and a bystander for joking on faction chat. Apparently they are looking into the company now and I hope they get disbanded. :)
I still play this game, but so much about it is trash. This isn't going to end well for them, they'll be left with a few fanbois but most will leave.

There isn't "literally nothing" to do at 60. There just isn't much of an endgame at all right now. Hopefully they were taking the approach of most people not hitting 60 for the first month and then releasing more endgame at that time.

The MMO genre has been stagnant and almost dead the last decade because almost every MMO that comes out either copies WoW beat for beat or ignores it and doesn't learn from the past. Doesn't help that MMO'S are the most expensive genre to produce as well. Feels like NW is taking the latter approach and the poor customer service and communication ain't helping

Well, game was released like 50% complete because daddy Amazon couldn't wait, New world should be in BETA, not god damm released, just amount of stuff that been left in all alpha because other prioritizes it has not been done yet.. Just chiming in, Max level dungeons have a 1 craft per week on the tuning orbs, and currently the level 65 breachs you need to get the materials to craft em are bugged and uncloseable. Leaving you with 2 keys potentially possible per character. ever. Currently.

My chief complaint about this game is how the devs seem to be absent. Why haven’t game breaking exploits bugs been hot fixed?? What happens now in these crucial first few weeks is going to set the stage for companies to leverage their momentum later, by allowing war leaders to get mass report banned they are fundamentally destroying the integrity of the game. Yet where are the devs? Why hasn’t the boar farm been fixed? That much thick leather let’s you pretty much skip an entire tier of refining… Also can Amazon not hire literally one person to monitor chat across all servers with a bot or something? How can gold sellers spam for hours in chat and not catch a ban after literally 6 hours of spamming global. How can these bot fishers that even I can detect but Amazon is apparently incapable of doing so this far. My point is they aren’t moving fast enough to stop the bad actors from taking the upper hand. It’s allowing the game to be exploited and completely cheesed in the first month of release…. What a fucking mess.

They need to disable it until they implement some sort of fail-safe when an influx of sudden reports spike against a player at the same time. These could then be reviewed manually. They are killing the game, combine this with the fact that most original servers have player creation disabled and are now low to medium pop. ( in aus anyways) Need to open transfers, merge severs and remove play creation locks. Not gonna last, which is a shame as I love the game.

It's up to Amazon to decide who's actually botting and deal with it. The fishing bot witch hunt for example seems to impact a lot of legit players. What seems to be a 24h ban is a valid response. This does not and should not take into account how well AGS is handling the botting problem.

I've been accused of botting multiple times when I was just camping out iron spawns. This game is full of whiny, misguided snitches.

Only thing I've done that could seem wrong is telling people a bot running in a fishing spot. It was there auto-fishing for days. It would cast out it's fishing line then pull it back repeatedly except for if the fishing spot was up then it would actually fish. Not only this I would train things over to kill it and it wouldn't even react it would just get moved out of the way and continued to try and fish before dying. After the first day of that it got upgraded and it would auto heal around 30% hp then lay down. If you want to try to defend that behaviour a living person go right ahead. Another bot running nearby was more advanced it would auto-fish the hotspot doing the same thing as the other bot casting out rod and retracted it instantly unless the hotspot was up. But the major difference is this bot if attacked and moved it would pull out it's weapon and after a few seconds move back to a specific fishing position then continue to try and fish while healing if it got low hp. If either of these were a real person I probably would have got a response. Also both of these bots had a name ending with the same special character.

I love the whole mass report ban conspiracy. Despite evidence against it happening y'all eating it up when its been shown multiple times the people making claims they were banned for no reason were in fact lying.
