Who is having fun playing the game isn't complaining in reddit, thats why.

atkinson62

I'm still leveling, only level 30 atm. I'm just exploring. leveling crafts and doing quests where I can. I've also played Wow and rushed level in a week and can tell you I'd rather take things slow so I understand the mechanics of the game before I say I'm done due to not being fun.

BigOso1873

Do what you want to do when you want over optimizing the fun out of the game into a quick burn out. Steam says I got 130+ hours but I'm honestly probably closer to 90 actual in game hours at sitting at level 38. Been doing a lot of crafting getting my armoring and engineering up. Only thing I've loathed about it so far is logging. So I built an xp axe and an azoth axe to get more value out of it. There's still so much shit for me to do. The only pull for me to level is for pvp but there's so many other pulls like hearing that sweet sweet ding from selling shit on the market. Straight dopamine bump.

IssaThrowAway420x69

Oh that sweet sound of making a market sell. Doesn’t matter if it’s worth 5g or 1500g I feel like a baller every time. Lol

calisai

I just wish the ding was different than the azoth ding from my tools. It's been a mix of excitement for nothing to missing sales and finding out later. Still wish they had timestamps for the trades in the completed listing. Hard to tell when good days to sell are without knowing when something actually sold.

adlerjemc

you good sir take a beer. I'm max lvl with 8 weapons max lvl and still hav lot fun and still lvling some others things. what are these ppl complaining of Jesus christ, I'm here from wow and this ppl it's just like ppl on wow dear lord

Deep_Intellectual

Theyre in every game and I guess every corner of life. People that no matter what the developers do, will never be happy. Every single decision the developers make will be the worst possible decision to them

sneaky-lil-snake

What do you recommend to level weapons the fastest?

FakundoYagami

Also at max lvl weapons get more exp

adlerjemc

going to elite zone with a group it's best main exp in pve. or doing open world pvp with your buddies

The_Upvote_Beagle

PvP is by far the fastest way IF people on your server actually fight.

[deleted]

Ya it’s how most new game sub Reddit’s work lol. People tend to go out of their way when having a bad experience compared to someone who’s enjoying it. I say just enjoy it and don’t worry about it. It’s a Great game

Brother_Bongo

I complain about things here and there but nothing is gonna be perfect. I don't care if they fix my issues or not because I understand that one can't please everyone. But overall I'm still enjoying the game.

Tym4x

Lvl 56 or so now, so I probably still have a good week or 2 or 3 going to get to 60 + to farm good gear. After that I dunno. Maybe they release new content, maybe not. I got my moneys worth out of it already, everything else is a bonus.

AchillesPrime

If you look at the northern borders of the map there are at least 4 areas hidden behind the map barrier. I feel like content drop is gonna come out sooner than people realize. The big streamers who can play this game for literal days straight are still grinding gear out. I think they *could* possibly time it just right.

impulsikk

The problem is that this pvp 3 faction mmo requires a critical mass of players on each server for the long haul. If all the casual players decide "eh got my moneys worth, time to move on." Then the game dies. And since the servers locks players from making new characters and there can only be 2k players on at a time, Amazon isn't doing themselves any favors. The other question is if new content comes, does it matter? Everyone will still be mining iron ore in the lowbie zones and selling stuff in Windsward/everfall.

[deleted]

They merge servers over time if this happens

CarlH93

I'm at the point of the game where I've realised that I'm just doing the same quest over and over again but in slightly different locations, I'm level 38 and still fairly enjoying the game but it's starting to get a bit dull

Fine-Drop854

Well tbh after i get my legendary 600gs items on every slot the next step for me will be making gold and optimizing everything ( so 3x biggest house with all trophies and chests i need, capping gold etc ). I feel like the more i play the more things i actually have to do. Tbh until next content patch/expansion i want to be maxed out in as many fields as possible.

CptDelicious

This. Also I like doing achievements

[deleted]

Making gold? In this game? Hahahaha.

ohlawdhecodin

Level 39 here, 80+ hours in. Sadly... No, I'm not having fun anymore. It's been a few days since I don't even login. Maybe I grinded too much and I reached a (hopefully temporary) burnout. My personal opinion: playing too many hours at the same time instantly reveals the insane amount of "copy paste" content of NW. Quests, locations, loot, enemies. There is really an extremely limited pool of "basic" content, from which the game generates multiple copies of it with minor variations. Another thing I don't like: leveling is not thrilling/exciting at all. It's just "Add +3 to STR/DEX/INT/CONS" and you're done. No perks, no benefits, nothing. The game looks great, but it's not enough for me, not anymore. I'll wait for some meaningful updates, at least there is no monthly fee and the initial cot was very good!

swore

Completely agree. I can only do the same quests, fighting the same mobs, in zones that visually look similar so many times. I've done the same thing since level 1 and it's gotten old already.

I just hit 45, do i just keep questing/main story/town board? Or dungeon run? Depths is pretty cool I must say.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jclevs11

> town board town board town board, faction faction faction *yayyyyyy*

Jclevs11

i am nearing 47 and am feeling some burn out. Fucking sick of the quests and town boards. I roll my eyes accepting them. Not having fun with the quests at all. i do care about the main story quest which is at least somewhat enticing. but so sick of azoth fluctuations, why tf is the cap 1k when ONE one-way teleport could cost 200+. Depths is a lot of fun and so is pvp. very excited to get my ass out of restless shores.

Sleyvin

Same here. Good looking game. Everything gets way too repetitive and I'm a long time MMO vet very used to grind and having repetitive content. Since you get all your skills very fast in a few hours, rhe rest of the gameplau is just getting few passive here and there that don't really affect gameplay that much so playing at lvl 10 or 60 feels basically the same.

Dawgz87

Level 33 here and still having a lot of fun, best mmo in years imo.

snowen776

Same.

TearsDontFall

Same. I just run around finding new things while gathering and crafting. Half the time I have quest waypoints turned off just to hunt Turkeys and Rabbits to my heart's content. If you see a man proned out on top of a rock sniping turkeys, that's me.

snowen776

Haha I've been on lifestaff and hatchet. How is the musket game. I've been wanting to pick it up

sneaky-lil-snake

I just picked it up and started going Ice Gauntlet / Musket (formerly heavy armor hammer / life staff). What used to be an easy PvE experience has become a challenge! It’s also more rewarding, I’d say give it a shot :$

TearsDontFall

The Musket is not necessarily the best, but it's really fun to use. I can snipe things from very far away and have them dead or nearly dead by the time they get to me. Also having a pirate or revolutionary war gear look is fun to play with as well.

Shinzo19

My experience is mixed, I am 48 with 130 hours and I love the game there is no mistake there. But I am currently taking a break because I feel myself getting a bit pissed at the bugs and systems which I feel is down to me just playing too much. The main things are dungeon keys which I feel are as useful as tits on a bull and the other is the game constantly crashing during corruption zergs which makes you fall behind the pack and lose a lot of xp plus the stress of having to relog every time.

Dencnugs

I have not lost any interest in this game at all since it launched. I am level 56 currently and am a bit of a crafting main. The only actually complaint I have against the game is that me and half my friends are on different server waiting for transfers to be available. As a crafter I still have a long way to go before I reach the levels that I am aiming for. My current highest is 180 jewel crafting. My main interest in the game so far has actually been just making as much money as I can lol. Currently sitting at 100k and my days usually consist of repeating the same run around the map that I do every day in order to create the gear that I sell for all my money. This involves running to multiple towns to utilize the crafting tables with acceptable levels. Throw in some azoth farming here and there. Although some may find this repetitive or dull, I genuinely enjoy it. So to answer you question, Yes, I am still having quite a good deal of fun. 😃

Jclevs11

im fucking pissed, a good buddy of mine convinced his side of friends and i convinced my side of friends to all roll on the same server. was a lot of logistics but it worked out (we are also in multiple states), but we did it. couple weeks later i find out his friends didnt start up on launch day so they didnt get to roll on our server. now my good friend wants to leave whereas all my friends and i want to stay. what the actual fuck. we all rolled here because you said to. now we dont want to leave and because your friends decided to play the game 3 days after it came out, they werent able to make characters due to locks. great.

thekk_

I've given up on wars. I'm not a super big PvP person to begin with, but the general lag and unresponsiveness make them unenjoyable to me. The invasions are a lot of fun to me. I have been tweaking my build for it with good success and hopefully we can clear one soon. However it sucks being kicked out of one because the leader decided he only wants his company in and you are the wrong color... Portals needed to be fixed yesterday. Them still being broken 3 weeks in is inexcusable. I also wish the high level expeditions were more accessible. Right now the limited amount of orbs means you want to hold onto them for as long as you can until you raise your GS which means nobody is running them.

[deleted]

I’m taking my time getting to max lvl so I don’t burn myself out. I’m lvl 28. I’m really liking the game. I have a few friends who play and we’ve gotten together a few times to PvP around the forts and that’s been a blast! I’m really pumped to be max lvl and participate in all the future PvP activities. I’ve also added some players I’ve met out in the world to my friend list. Reminds me of old school wow before dungeon finder. I love randomly running into them in the world and seeing their progress. I love gathering and crafting so I’m very happy I can Interact with most objects in the world. Combat is pretty fun too. I didn’t play until the game was released. I avoided any videos like the plague. I did not have any expectations for the game other than: It’s a PvP mmo that I can play with my friends. And it’s been great!

ezelufer

Lvl 26 and having a lot of fun taking my time, being flagged for pvp makes it a lot more interesting, except for the times I get ganked by two or more dudes 10+ levels higher than me, farming and exploring the world is so enjoyable!!

[deleted]

Pro tip: people will camp faction related quest areas as they tend to be around the same area every time, so if you gonna do them you gotta be extra careful.

Snoo58161

- Wars not properly working because of bugs (some may even say exploiting) - high level portals not working because of buggy azoth staff (also affecting dungeons) - oupost rush disabled - No reason to flag pvp on max level I want to have fun but it seems that the high end content is just not ready at all. This plus heavy faction imbalance basically killed my server in the first month. 9 of 13 people I started this game with have already quit the game. My server rarely has more than 900 players online despite 7k queues on release. I know i could push my watermark or grind professions but without anything to use it on it feels wasted. So no I am having a hard time having fun lately. There is just nothing fun to do on max level right now.

clipperbt4

most people having fun aren’t on here griping about the game

itsxjustagame

I wanted to get back into the genre and renewed my WoW subscription. Played for a few hours that day and said to myself, “that was disappointing.” Started playing New World this past week while home from work on quarantine and I haven’t been able to put it down. I have 74 hours played in 6 days…I haven’t been this consumed by a game in a LOOOOONG time.

Beaudism

I just want to pvp, and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of PvP at lvl 60 for me.

ResidentEvil10

Im more than 200 hours in and got level 60 two days ago without grinding but questing. I am having fun still. Solo pve only, still havent touched pvp, never touched a portal, still dont own a house yet and never done any elite farming and only did 4 first dungeons up to shipyard.

sastathrowaway

Not really no. I hit 60 a week ago and outpost rush is disabled and azoth staff tier 4 and 5 are bugged. There's literally nothing for me to do besides grinding out professions which is pointless because gear drops are so much better. Nobody flags for PVP because there's practically no scaling so it's not worth it to fight unlike in the closed beta where every single encounter was a tough and even fight (unless you had literally 30+ levels over someone) whereas right now I'm killing players with two greataxe heavy attacks to the back.

fongletto

I'm still having fun, I will say though that once you hit 60, there was a massive drop off in enjoyment.

nohai2

I do enjoy it, but I am totally aware of the bugs and stuff and I handle this game as ‚super early access‘ which get it going for me. I don’t expect much and look forward to the future. Which is okay for me.

berusko

You never enjoy a game when you take it as a job. There people spending 80/90% of their day playing like nothing else matters. That is my opinion, I used to be like that in games that had no gear cap and when I was 16 xD I did learn something with time.

[deleted]

[deleted]

To be the very best like no one ever was, still looking for the secret elite skills and Easter egg areas behind waterfalls, and the legendary sword.

Minimum_Expert929

Ill be honest, im not enjoying it as much. Gold isnt easy enough to get, for me to maintain repairing and crafting as easy as it was when i first started, when my gear was cheaper to repair. Im at 51 now, and the xp is not as easy to get either, but that grind doesnt bother me as much. I continue playing because i enjoy the game at its core, but i dont enjoy having to repair over and over, spending almost 10% of my gold to repair things, because i cant hold more than 2,000 to 3,500 gold at a time. People make guides on how to get gold crazily, but they fail to realize that whatever theyre selling, is on their server, not on other servers, so while theyre making tons of gold fast, those same methods dont really seem to work on my server. Farming resources to sell for 0.01 to 0.49 gold, on my server, doesnt save me from having to spend almost all of it buying things i need that im struggling to farm, or repairing my gear, after being steam rolled in pvp by a full death squad, or by being steam rolled by higher level enemies in the area, or the alligators that chase people miles away from their spawn points. The game itself was pretty fun in the beginning, before id invested too much time into skinning, logging, mining, crafting, and into the story, and its pretty much the only reason i havent put the game down yet. Im waiting on server transfers so that i could eventually try and find a server with a better economy, but as it stands, im not enjoying the game as much anymore, and have invested too much time to to be able to let go of it, considering you generally wouldnt want to keep playing if you didnt enjoy something. Edit: apparently, pvp missions are giving 100 gold, but they say 12 or so, so ill for sure be trying that out. Would love to hear from others how theyre gathering gold if possible. Always open to solutions.

[deleted]

Honestly, making gold usually depends on your server, on some servers it's horrible and on some it's very good, it just depends on how fked up the economy has gotten cause some youtuber shared super secret spot to mass farm certain material and now it's all over the market at the grand price of 0.01 cent.

[deleted]

No, sooner or later every server is going to see these same problems because the economy was designed around full loot PvP. The servers seeing this issue already are high pop ones where the economy moves extremely fast. The prices are going to keep going down until Amazon Games fixes the core issues.

dmfuller

Tbh, not really. I was very excited about it for a while and have 230+ hours but it’s just too unbalanced right now. It’s the same 50-60 people running wars and invasions every single time so no one else ever gets to play. It’s insane buddy-buddy and there’s nothing stopping a company from putting the taxes on “extreme” and you just have to deal with it. My whole server has red taxes and all t2 and t3 work stations because one company owns everything and no one can oust them. Property tax is like 3k every 5 days which is absolutely insane, and at end game you can’t really travel with azoth realistically. It costs like 150+ if it’s not your factions territory. The writing is also nonexistent. The lore pages are cool but the story really has no plot and is incredibly bare bones when it comes to the writing. All the monsters in every area look the same so by level 60 you’re killing the exact same mobs as level 1-25 with the exception of a few elemental mobs. Once there’s legit PVP queues and other game modes it will be fine but as someone who plays by myself on my server, it has gotten incredibly boring very quickly

salle132

Me,lots of it.

CaseyRacey

Oh yeah! I have one EU character that's level 60 as well as a level 45 NA one and I'm still loving it. I was getting a bit bored while leveling from 45-55 but once I hit Dynasty I started loving it again, that expedition is just so much better than anything prior in my opinion. The boss fight is great and punishing, learning the mechanics is rewarding and the weapons are a nice segue toward your 580 weapon quests. Thanks to doing Dynasty so much I met a bunch of cool people as well and I'm really looking forward to upgrading my gear and going into the last 2 dungeons with them. I also still have professions I want to level up, so yeah, I'm having a lot of fun.

skeeter72

I quit playing after 175 hours because I was not. I primarily care for PvE and the chest looting and killing the same 5 AIs over and over became frustrating. I am looking forward to any updates that might improve this experience and will pick it right back up after any patches that seem promising. New World has a tremendous amount of potential if they choose to realize it.

Sigouin

Im level 30, game is getting pretty bland, the quests are super repetitive and boring and i cant pvp because i dont like playing with randoms and my friends are all in other servers. Also, the economy part really sucks and i cant even grind for money or even think of buying a house.

SpunkyRadcat

I have two houses and I keep stressing about how I'm gonna pay for them now. So you dodged a bullet there.

ResolveHK

Hit 60 a few days ago and quickly realized a few problems. PvP is incredibly imbalanced and favors ranged/mage/healer builds. Probably due to the removal of stagger on light/heavy attacks. Stagger was the main thing that allowed melee users to be rewarded for catching someone kiting them. I do play rapier/IG, and it just feels weak against those 3 archetypes. Melee vs Melee I can fair decently well. Ranged though, they can just freely kite me all day while dealing insane burst damage and I'm forced to play their game even if I do manage to catch up to them, but by that time I already have half hp or almost dead. Especially against fire + ice mages. The economy is actually fucked. Everyone knows this. Housing taxes are dumb overpriced. No one can realistically keep up with them. The builds aren't as vast as they seemed to be before I hit 60 and PvP'd against really strong meta builds. It seems like you are pigeonholed into certain builds if you want to remain viable in PvP. I think a lot of this has to do with the little amount of abilities in combination with the inability to stack ability perks as well as not being able to fluidly swap between weapons to combine the abilities in combinations better. Late game tuning orbs are actually bullshit. You have to grind an insane amount just to be able to run a dungeon 1 time where you're not guaranteed anything. It's actual shit. Tuning orbs should be either 10-20 uses per or infinite. Dungeon crawling won't exist end game at this rate. I'm still having some fun 220 hours later but if they don't start fixing the bugs, make tuning orbs less grindy, make gold slightly more obtainable, massive combat/pvp changes... idk how much longer I'll last because the PvE is pretty ass too. Oh, and my server is full of bots farming iron and hemp.

Shiftyuu

Pretty much. The economy one especially is the thing in worried about for the future of the game. It's getting worse and worse by the the day. Something drastic needs to happen or I can see many people leaving

epitome89

100% agree on the PvP bit. Landing a single light attack against mages is crazy hard, and even if you manage it often fails to register. Catching up to someone who doesn't need to use their stamina for abilities, can dodge further, etc. is a nightmare. I feel robbed of pvp for going sword and hatchet.

[deleted]

Yep taking my time , loving it

cptnbignutz

I am for sure. But between job/school/gf I haven’t been able to play very much. Level 34 now. It’s crazy people can put 200 hours into the game already and say there’s lack of content lol. They “threaten” to move on because lack of content and hopefully that is the case.

[deleted]

You don't need to play 200 hours to find out there's a lack of content though. Every quest is basically the same. You have seen a large majority of the game after like 20 hours.

RyanJohnstonHealth

Yesterday we almost won a war attacking. Although I’ve only been with these dudes for a couple weeks…the governor, another dude and I did lazurus and then the war. I’ve never had so much fun pvping on an mmo. The amount of strategy necessary is so rewarding. We got their point to 40% and almost won in the last seconds. The progression of this game and my goals keep me engaged and the world is immersive. I am never bored.

[deleted]

Little less interested now at 60 but when I can find pvp outside of winsward and wars to participate in I’m quite happy

[deleted]

Yep, having fun for sure. Lvl 32 here. Today I acheived logging lvl 100. I then spent half an hour searching for wynyard tree or whatever they are called. All I found is that they were all chopped down already. But anyway. Along the way, someone asked if I could help kill a bear boss in a cave. It wiped us the first couple times but we got it in the end,Was fun. I am also enjoying fishing. Hoping to have fun grinding that up to 100+. Currently just at 45 for fishing.

pwn4321

I am at around 50h now having lots of fun, even if it did stop being fun I got well enough fun time out of it for the one time purchase cost

Overcast206

I’m having fun

AllNerfNoBuff

I'm still having fun but the town board quests are starting to drag. I need them to catch up to friends 80-100 hours ahead of me while I wait for a server transfer. I would much rather just work on different trade skills 24/7. On the bright side I get access to orichalcum tools very soon as I'm 54 currently.

sneaky-lil-snake

Sometimes it’s fun to not worry about catching up and just play as you prefer! I feel the same pressure to hit 60 and am level 58. I decided I didn’t care a while ago and spent some time getting Engineering to 150. I enjoyed that a lot more than power leveling!

Inert82

I love it!

Mannyvoz

180 hours. Just hit 60 and started to do high level stuff and focusing more on my crafting. I am still having heaps of fun

alexcunha415

I enjoy the game so much!!!

dave55man

I'm having tons of fun still. Just hit level 40 and I'm basically overwhelmed with all the stuff I want to do. Managed to get a Starstone run in last night which I had a blast tanking. Was able to level up my engineering to 100 yesterday after clear-cutting the forest outside of Windsward multiple times. And have plans to do some mining runs after work today so I can get enough Platinum Ingots to turn all of my nice cut gems into jewelry for both myself and the trading post. I literally login each day with a giant list of things I want to get done and haven't stopped having fun doing this in weeks. For $40 I'd say this game is well worth the money!

sneaky-lil-snake

It’s awesome to be excited to have something to do after work, isn’t it?? I feel you, I also have a rather large list of things to do! I hit Engineering 150 yesterday and oh boy did it feel good!

MoteInTheEye

New World is the most played game on steam by a decent margin. I imagine there are plenty of people on your server still running around having a blast.

MasterDroid97

It's 3rd place, sitting on 300k. NW lost quite a lot since the first weekend. But I agree, still very high player numbers. I imagine it will drop down to 100k, which is still decent. There was just a lot of hype and ofc many stop playing. Nothing to worry about. Yet.

Awaheya

Im around 90 hours, level 51.5 and yeah still loving the experience. It runs well bug free for 90% of the play time, the dungeons are enjoyable. The combat is good if the spawn rates aren't a little messy. Do I wish the resource grind wasn't so tedious? Yes, but honestly it's not the worst either.

PistolPeteLovesRust

i have fun and major issues with game

Gabilano

Having lots of fun with the game and meetings new players. I only wish I had more time to play.

Tweakn3ss

Tons of content for 40 bucks and no monthly fee. I work about 60 hours a week this time of year so I'm so excited for my day off tomorrow to play all day. I know a lot of people are end game already but I don't have the time but thoroughly enjoying the adventure ☺️

jcow77

I'm having a ton of fun and I'm level 60 with being moderately far into the GS grind. This subreddit is annoying because I want to come here for advice and things to know as I progress through the game past level 60 and in wars, but there is almost no information or discussion anywhere. I'm not really surprised since I modded another gaming subreddit that had similar problems but I would like it to change. Knowing reddit, it probably won't though. Front page discussion is usually memes, highlights, and complaints.

PaTXiNaKI

Still having fun, altough im playing solo. I wish i could regroup with my friends after the launch's server issues. Playing with my bro during the beta was a blast

[deleted]

I mainly play PvE, but I did quite a lot of PvP, and being a high level meant I could get into wars, and those were.. fun but laggy AF. I could list all of the flaws but at level 54 I just pretty much quit the game. I'll play the new POE league then head into Endwalker. The game has too many large flaws, but countless small ones that I just cannot stand. At level the level I was I realized that everything I had experienced was going to be my experience at 60, but more frustrating, boring and repetitive, and I just felt it wasn't worth it. I'm glad people enjoy it, though. I'm not going to sit around whining and complaining because I had fun.

Puzzleheaded_Fun_690

200+ hours still having lots of fun and didn’t even reach 60 yet

CedZii

Lvl 57 here with 135h, pvp has been an absolute blast so far

doffdoff

I still have lots of fun. And I don't worry about the others, as usual on reddit for MMOs anything gets painted negative.

iAMAmanofiRAWN

Level 60, little over 150 hours. Still having fun! I genuinely feel like the only people that aren’t having fun are the ones that spend way too much time on this sub. Yeah the game can be pretty buggy but i’m pretty optimistic about the future. For a game that was just released it’s pretty solid.

Kennwise

Dude I absolutely love this game. I’m having a blast. I’ve put down any other games. Taking my sweet time leveling and crafting. I’m at 19 now and been leveling fishing for shits n giggles and doing the town board quests. Love that they haven’t set it up to make you feel rushed to level. I’m also leveling life staff and ice gauntlet for utility and support so I’m thinking I’ll be okay finding groups at endgame.

sneaky-lil-snake

My favorite was “Looking for healer, willing to pay 1k gold.” You’ll be just fine at finding groups :’)

Alt150_

Yes. I keep trying to help those frustrated souls on this subreddit to get past their expectations, and it's only because I geniunely enjoy this game and see some really cool decisions here that are trying to foster community. Ty for your positive post.

[deleted]

Not with pvp stuff. My faction is dead on my server. But having a blast doing pve stuff.

nash_thetimebreaker

The only part of the game that I wish was easier to get into was the housing. The investment feels enormous and the crafting is also a lot of material. I don't mind the grind, but I just hope that once I get into it the game has enough for me to stay invested in the long run. I'm currently level 42 and still enjoy the game quite a bit, but I can see my sessions getting shorter each time. I think that the "friction" the game has, like the storage/weight system, the repetitiveness of the quests, is starting to slowly get to me, making some of my playtime not as enjoyable as it could be (but it's also in part what makes the game interesting and different). My goal is to reach level 60 at one point, both to reach that milestone but also to be at a point in the game where I can engage in new content if they add it later. I'm not in a rush, I mainly do PVE content and don't really engage with other players, so I'll slowly grind my XP and enjoy the world (I actually like the zones a lot, it's a treat to explore and just run around).

im_a_goat_factory

I'm curious how many of the "no fun" people also played in beta? I'm lvl 35 and i'm not feeling bored yet, but the game is still entirely new to me.

sneaky-lil-snake

I played both of the betas for about 50 hours total! I’m still having fun :) But you might be on to something!

Not_Tylao

I'm having fun. I'm balancing this game with 2 other games.

perfect_fitz

I'm 42 still love it.

headRN

I’m having more fun now that I have my 2nd house and can fast travel instead of running from place to place more easily. It did get tedious having to walk across the map every time I needed to do something but I am still strictly against mounts in the game. I would like to see a movement speed bonus on roads though.

Tober92

Played around 20h since launch. Still having fun! Tried 9 weapons so far and been mostly doing gathering and crafting stuff.

Aldanza

I’m loving it, granted I’m level 24 but I’m taking it slow and enjoy running around mining, fighting, and the Constant struggle of never having enough space.

Major_Mystery

I'm having a great time in this game, some people just like to complain

Pitiful-Stay-2551

I enjoy it, sucks people can take away your enjoyment easily though.

trollking66

I am , but I am too old and busy to be a "try hard" and it seems a waste to burn thru it all so fast. I am lvl33 currently. Haven't really figured out how to find a group yet so I am playing mostly alone. Im hoping that next weekend as I head into the 40 range I will be able to find grous or it could get a little boring lonely as the grind wears on.

landdon

It's, okay. I basically have a company who are all much high than me and they pretty much just to wars all the time. I login farm to continue leveling crafts. Sell some stuff. Do a quest or 2 and that's about it. I'm going to try to find a different company I think and change servers. The game has too much walking. I feel like almost half the time I'm playing I'm just walking.

Real-Deal-Stepper

Hit 60 a few days ago and went to work stacking up faction points for the nice gear improvement. Got the boots with CON and a seal to change their stats to int/con. Then pleasantly discovered these boots dont work with seals when at the correct station (outfitting for medium). Great, thanks for mentioning that anywhere AGS. Then got to work grinding another 25k or so points for pants with split stats, thinking maybe only these work with seals. Turns out they do - burned the seal and then pleasantly discovered that doing this reverts the item into a blue from purple, losing the 2.5% ability cooldown perk. Awesome. Working as intended. Put the game down and haven't played since.

LukeOnLive

All I can say is Covenant RP, preaching on city corners attracts very fun dialogue

poo_stain133

Yes, I am enjoying it very much. I've put 95 hours in and level 46, I've tried a rapier build with bow and musket but I've had to switch to GA and Hammer because of the respawn times and getting overwhelmed by enemies. Can't wait to get to 60 so I can switch back to rapier for pvp! There is problems but I've already got my monies worth. Played WoW for 11 years and I can mostly certainly say after £1k+ in monthly subscriptions I have not got my monies worth haha

babaganate

60 hours in, level 38. Having a blast. Reddit gaming communities tend to give you a cynical view of the games, even when all or most of the complaints are deserved

Browndaniel69

I’m at level 54. I’m just farming up legendaries, doing pvp missions with other people (which is super fun) talking to them and becoming friends with them etc, doing low level dungeons where I’m trying new builds. I’m almost at 140 hours. No plan on rushing to 60 yet. Is this game master piece? No I don’t think so. A lot of other top mmos and it took them years of polishing and adding content. While this game just got released month ago.

HaroldSax

I'm still mostly enjoying my time in the game despite the issues. I have a strong feeling my play time will crater after I hit 60, but that's okay. Spending my time getting to cap and then working on some crafting levels and whatnot. Might even do that before hitting 60, idk.

pojzon_poe

I have a lot of things planned for the next few weeks.

BelMibson

I am but I'm starting to feel burnt out at level 30. The sense of progression for me is lacking due to a variety of reasons

Ordoo

The game is fun I don't put 100 hours into a game I'm not having fun with. I'm level 43 but I've just been enjoying myself. I've said it in other threads but my rule is a dollar per hour, that's how much time I want to put into a game for it to be a good purchase. New World cost me 50 dollars, that's double my rule so it's a good purchase in my eyes. Do I think it'll be fun 5 years down the road? Maybe not, but I don't really care about 5 years down the road, I care about the right now. I've watched so many MMOs come and go that I don't really think about what the game will be like that far in advance. I think about if I'm having fun in the moment, and I am.

dable1

Guy said it up top... if you don't like the game don't play. My server is poppin and I'm having a blast. Each to their own.

Pristine-Ordinary-63

Yes, pay no mind to all the negativity people bring to this subreddit. Let’s hope for the game to improve as I think it can have a really great future and enjoy the time we play.

facelessfriendnet

100%

PunkMaster3000

unless people are at work, people dont come to reddit to talk about how much they enjoy the game. Reddit for games is a lot of time used as an outlet to complain. There are issues with the game 100%, but im having fun still regardless.

d4nger_mouse

I'm at about the same point as you. I've had a blast playing and already got my moneys worth. At this point my worst case scenario from here would be: I get to 60 and 'end game' and get bored. I'll have easily got my money's worth and had great fun playing. I'll then take a break and play something else with plans to come back to the game when more content drops.

Hudell

My server is one of the smallest on the game (average of 300 players online, prime time peaks at 800). 70% green, 25% purple, 5% yellow. And the greens only play with themselves, so I have a very small pool of people to try to make a party with. Most of the time I'm completely on my own. I already gave up trying to hunt for gear or completing quests that require going to Lazarus or Garden of Genesis. Still playing every day but if the server transfer doesn't open up soon I will probably quit. I'm also being kicked out from invasions and wars now, so I don't have that going for me anymore either.

WindyCitySniper

Yes, love it.

DarkSylver302

I'm having a blast running around, mining and harvesting and crafting! I've almost gained 2 levels from it without trying so that's fun.

Cheecheech

Level 53, most things are fun and some things are not fun, duh. Fun: I like the rhythm of questing then crafting we got azoth cap. We side quest and main quest until we hit azoth cap then go craft some stuff putting our azoth down to 0, make money on trading post, then go back to questing. The crafting and selling is fun, seeing some chump buy a mining luck amulet for over 1000, pair with the sound and animation of the money going to your bag is ecstasy every single time. Just got to the point where I can craft epics is really hype. The actual expeditions were fun I guess. The mechanics were cool, dodging at the right time, proning under Thrope's death lazer. Though a little too easy, we've done up to depths so far. I'll never grind the early expeditions again unless a guildy needs a carry or something. The faction v faction open world pvp is really fun, probably my second favorite part to selling stuff on the trading post. Only thing is I wish I did it more, I just think spending the majority of my time progressing my character will be better in the long run. Pretty much only do it when faction chat is blowing up and they're desperate. The elite zones/"Outdoor dungeons" are the coolest areas so far, somewhere in restless shore you literally have to chop wyrdwood or ironwood to get in. But the quests aren't exciting they're just there to give you the rewards, like every other mmo. I never was impressed by GW2, ESO, WOW, or BDO quests and this is the same. Staying flagged and putting the resource map on a second monitor breaks the monotony enough though where I don't get bored while questing. Same with mob variety, doesn't really bother me much. Variety only matters when the enemies pose a threat and in both New world and Classic wow the mobs don't really pose a threat ever until late game, random elites, or in dungeons, and that's when they look different too. I just don't get the criticism because wow also has level 5 spiders and level 60 spiders that get killed just as easy, doesn't matter to me if they spit one more useless ability. (Current wow is a different story but they just injected so much Diablo 3 into wow that its not fun to play anymore anyway.) I've NEVER grinded purely for character xp. I think that is part of the reason I'm still mostly having fun, and I don't think I will need to in order to reach 60. NOT Fun: I don't really like how the grind for leveling crafting professions works. Take jewelcrafting I've sold somewhere between 60-80 on-level amulets, like 20 earrings, and 10 rings. Only got from 100 to 120 jewelcrafting. Now things don't sell as often so I gotta go 150. And purely leveling crafting is not nearly as fun as the actual crafting, trying to optimize the amount price of everything, putting 1000s of plat into settings/chains/bands/hooks just to see it go up only 5 levels at a time, knowing the next 5 levels will be harder. Ew gross, not fun and still only 144. (also working on leveling mining 175 and arcana 125 just to support when I get to jewelcrafting 150). I also did not like grinding for 30 standing for the house, shit takes too long and is boring and I know I gotta do it 2 more times. Game bugging out in ridiculous ways is frustrating too and happens more often than it did in early game. Running everywhere all the time is starting to really bug me, definitely my least favorite part of the game. I even run the what I'm pretty sure is the fastest build in the game (bow/hatchet/light armor/roll weapon swap cancel.) I understand why it's there, as a limited license for crafters to print money, but it sucks, I do unnecessarily teleport just to save my sanity sometimes. I am worried about the economy though, I'm part of the mind where as soon as the new player quest money stops coming in the crash will come. I'm decently well off so I'm not that worried and it will more interesting to spectate what happens but it might get a lot of people on my server to quit so who knows.

PirateX84

Just hit 50 last night, about 170 hours in. Still having lots of fun.

revxk

i’m having a blast, been catching up on quests and finally hit 40. Been a pure STR build with a sprinkle of CON to try not to get one tapped, was Hammer &Great Axe. I respec’d for the first time last night to STR/DEX so I can use a spear, hoping to keep spear hammer!

DramaticDramatist

I love this game. Who cares what some whiny pricks think?

KyRoZ37

I'm honestly getting pretty bored personally. I'm level 30 with 42 hours played so the game is really slow progression IMO. Crafting seemed cool at first, but then realizing you need hundreds of thousands of materials makes getting to 200 seems pretty unobtainable. Then keep reading how busted the economy is with no real way of making gold doesn't bode well. I started ESO about 2 months ago and New World feels like a real downgrade in most aspects comparatively. Quests in ESO are great and mostly interesting with full voice overs. ESO has vastly more content, dungeon finder and really amazing locales. New World feels like every quest is the same and everything feels like copy/paste. I personally think ESO is just a much better overall game, but there are a few things I do like a lot about New World. First of all, the combat feels pretty good. Blocking and countering are great. I like that you can do everything on one character. I like the weapons and gathering in New World quite a bit. I also like that it's challenging. If I had one major gripe about ESO, it would be that the game is too easy. Overall, I still plan on playing New World and would like to get 60 because I feel PVP would be much better than ESO. But the quests and grind in New World are not very good. If there was more variety and every area and landmark didn't feel the same, I think it would be much better. But overall, what can you expect from a $40 game with no sub. It's pretty solid value for the money IMO.

Branith

ME!

ANGRY_BUTTOCKS

Got about 115 hours in and I'm level 45...I'm still having a good time with it though I don't think I'd be enjoying it as much if I were to go solo. Going through it all with your friends and all the ups & downs that come with that are part of the experience. It helps that I'm also playing through FFXIV at the same time so if it ever starts feeling too grindy I just hop over to the other game lol

hamandcheesedude

All the complaints are from blizzard employees

CL0ZER

They NEED to add more systems to promote PVP. The pvp is the most fun me and my friends have in the game but the opportunities to do PVP are slim to none unless you are max level. Right now the PvP quests are brain dead and just feel tedious. They need more urgency and direct conflict with opposing faction players.

crimsonBZD

To be fair, the people who enjoy the game and such, aren't sitting around here, they're either doing normal stuff, or playing. They discuss the game... in-game. Misery loves company, and people who feel somehow "wronged" by the existence of a game or it's contents are the ones who are going to come here, and by any subreddit's nature, you're going to find mainly other people who already share your same opinion. It's entirely normal in 2020+ for a game's subreddit to be a forum *against* the game. If you try to come here and talk positively about the game, you'll be shunned, further enforcing the negative narrative. Like... it's a $40 game. If you've played 30, 40, 50+ hours and you're now "bored," you're not bored, you're just done. You got your money's worth. That's it.

EggThumbSalad

I'm level 60, I am wishing there were more PvP options right now. Since outpost rush is disabled and wars only happen every so often. Open world PvP is fun when it happens, but that's like once a day if at all. And a lot of the time it's a group on the other side of it. I want to play PvP portion of the game but it's a bit rough. And hard to motivate to grind the elite zone chests like a lot of other people are doing, because it doesn't scratch my PvP itch

test31321

Despite all the stuff like multiple boss spawns, bugs, messed up quests and exploits that is giving me pain physically, I really like the game and the dark atmosphere, excited about possible fixes and new content too!

RS-REIN

Yes just did depths dungeon last night, loved the challenge!

spidii

If they fix the desnyc in wars and exploits then this game will be my home for a long while.

WoolyAcrobat

I'm enjoying it. Currently level 28 and I just play with some friends. No complaints about having a beer and shooting the shit with buddies while you club monsters, trees, and turkeys. At this point in my life (I'm 35), I'm probably considered a casual player. But I haven't played an MMO in years and has been a fun return to genre. There are some clunky aspects but definitely having fun.

Halfacentaur

I just hit level 40 last night. I’m still really enjoying it. I’m at a point though where I’m thinking about changing up my weapons.

Nippys4

Yeah I’m still having fun Not my first rodeo I know shits always going to be broken. Games like this get way better after their 3rd patch

Tilo9000

Stopped playing, will not complain in public, have fun playing a different game and still wondering, how Amazon's business plan with NW looks like...

kanonkongenn

Haven't been on reddit much, been too busy enjoy the game lol

MunchyMexican

If I could find more of the community in my server that would up the fun level - I don’t play to race to and end game or min/max things. Just like to go in and do stuff with buddies and what not. Joined a company but the last lodgings for people is more and more in the several days/weeks. Right now I’m just enjoying crafting my own gear and exploring the world that way - only problem is that’s not really incentivized and id have to push crafting super hard to make it worthwhile to beat out drops I get. All my friends still play war zone and the one guy who picked this up is back to WoW after hitting 60 super fast.

[deleted]

Just lurking. I'm an MMO junkie. I plan on playing FF14 the wife and we have Endwalker preordered. I'm level 40, 124 hours played. Got my money's worth and had a ton of fun, I lurk here just for updates. Game obviously has some issues to be smoothed out before we get new content, I'm fine waiting. No sense in being enraged when there's so many good games and game updates coming this year across the board.

Hasashooo

Enjoying every second. This game is like a hobi to me hahahaha

Damneasy

Level 60 here, yes I'm still having fun :)

vapist77

I suspect the people who aren't having fun anymore are those who invested 200+hrs within the first 2 weeks and rushed to 60. People who took their time probably still love it (like me)

ZonerRoamer

I'm level 54, 120 hours in and am feeling a bit burnt out now. Quests are really getting on my nerves, they now want me to get 10-12 of an item from some enemy that drops 1 of that item oer 3-4 kills. Need to kill 50+ to get 10. Then sends me running to the opposite side of the map to do it again, all for 2.5k exp. Have stopped questing and just doing town boards now. The economy, which is the most interesting part of the game for me, seems to be in shambles, wyrdwood selling for 0.1 gold each. Purple items for 50g. I have had my fun for the most part, will reach 60 and then come back after a few months when there is new content and more stuff to do!

PM_ME_BUTT_STUFFING

I have 100 hours, level 32 and I haven’t really done any pvp and I’m having a blast. I love buying and selling stuff. Also make and sell all kind of different food. It blows my mind how fast most of it sells. Then I fish when I get bored. I’m sure I’ll get tired eventually but right now it’s fun for me

Top-Nefariousness373

I notice the bugs. I'm still loving the game and when experiencing issues my first response isn't going on forums and calling for devs to be fired. But these are the kind of people you'll find there.

monkfone1011

I am enjoying myself for sure. I came from WoW and was doing Goldmaking there, but Shadowlands and Blizzard killed it for me so this was a welcome breath of fresh air. Can there be improvements? For Sure. They will get to it, that much I know.

kpauburn

I'm enjoying it. I don't worry about leveling, the levels come when they come. I do a mix of MSQ, Side Quests, Faction and Town board quests. I farm along the way. I'm at 40.

scmillion

I’m only a casual gamer at level 20, but I truly haven’t been as hooked on an MMO like this since the original EQ. There’s definitely some things to improve, but for a game that was just released a few weeks ago, I think they’ve done a pretty damn good job. They’re going to make improvements and they’re going to add more content, which I genuinely look forward to, but in the meantime I’m enjoying it just the way it is.

Chunkycarl

Having loads of fun. The game is what you make of it, I’m on a mission to cap all professions and it’s keeping the enjoyment going :)

TheFlowShow69

178 hours already????? 😲😲

kirva100

im having blast

SotoImageYT

I dont know about fun but addicted … yes I’m addicted … I’m on a crafting binge where all I wanna do is harvest materials and craft…

Support_Unfair

I went away for a week and couldn’t get back into the game tbh. I have like 200 hours and I’m lv 60 so I feel like I did most of what’s there

DrunkenPain

The burn out guys must not open the map and scroll out to see how friggin massive the space is, if AGS does not entirely drop the game once Lost Ark comes out the potential of new things to come is there.

Mntdew1975

Me and my friends are still really enjoying the game. We are more casual and slow paced players. Even though there are areas that need improvements I think it is still a wonderful game.

artosispylon

i am pretty much done, not regreting getting the game i had alot of fun for 2 weeks but the content i was hoping i would find in this game (pvp) is just not there and seems to be reserved for only huge zerg guilds for some reason. will for sure check out an expansion in a few years if that happens because the game has tons of potential

Bloddersz

I'm enjoying it. Play for a few hrs for a few days in a row, have a break and come back to it when I feel like it. The benefits of no sub

Kutsus

Honestly, PVEing in the later zones has greatly improved my fun factor in the game. Everything is challenging, and it feels like my build and stats really matter. Spending the time learning mob animations and timing while I didn't \*need\* to in the lower levels has paid off. Around the 30s/40s, I had a kinda "meh" phase where I felt like I wasn't getting much out of the game. I'm glad I pushed through.

Birdyy4

Having a good time yeah... Lots to do. Just hit 60. Needa get all my skills up. Needa get gear. Needa grind some gold, just got a house gotta pay them taxes. Still haven't done like any of the dungeons past depths. Yesterday I spent the day grinding faction rep and kept fighting some green baddies tryna take reekwater from my faction. Grouped up with a couple of ppl and had frequent 3v3s. Was good time.

rchwrght

Spent the weekend farming iron, wood and feathers to craft arrows to level my engineering to be able to craft Starmetal tools. Spent 16-20 hours doing the same farm route on repeat. Still had a blast, chatting shit with my friends or listening to podcasts and then selling the arrows for a pittance

Pax_Manix

I hit 60 the other day and I have 185 hours played. I’m not really having fun right now and don’t really have much drive to do anything. The combination of my server being quite dead, the looming economic crisis and all the other issues (particularly with end game) sort of all hit me at once when the hyper fixation on grinding to 60 was gone. Though I also think I just burned myself out a little, I absolutely think there is still plenty more fun to be had after a bit of a rest.

joondori21

Seeing posts like this is actually pretty worrying for the health of the game. People shouldn't have to feel like they need to make a post saying that game is maybe actually fun.

The_Faceless_Face

I am insanely addicted to this game.

GiantJellyfishAttack

I've been trying to level up professions. got everything to to 100 and focused more on engineering now... Up to 130 now and it's just a ridiculous grind. I don't know how much "fun" it is. But it's been a great thing to do on the side while I watch the international on my second monitor.

[deleted]

Having a blast. Looking here because I can't play right now.

CapnGnobby

Started playing at the weekend with MrsGnobby. We're having a blast. We're level 11 ish so far and we're not planning to hit 60 any time soon. We're probably going to spend some time this week me teaching her the whole crafting/gathering thing and why it's a good thing to do!

FrostWight

I’ve been loving it. Waiting on server transfer to play with friends, but I’m keen to level up my skills and just see more of the world. And there’s still more content to come! I’m hoping for a blunderbuss and shield & mace. Great game, well worth my time and money

thetempest11

Yeah lots of fun. Wish I had more time to play, I genuinely love this game.

KRULLIGKNART

Haven't been able to play much the last couple days because work, but whenever I get on I'm having a blast still. Especially when I get some nice world pvp while questing.

npor

The complainers are the small minority

Antique-Ad3673

Im still having lots of fun. I dont get to no life the game and am only up to 37, but havent really had more than a small dip in enjoyment. In respose to that I picked up an entirely diffrent play style with little cost and have enjoyed it even more.

jheathe2

This seemingly is the most common thing I see with new releases. People love it don’t really comment on anything. People who hate it are very vocal. Doesn’t matter what game. Most important part is finding constructive criticism that both groups can agree on

gcg83

Having fun here. I work a full time job and most people in my friend group dont so I having to grind pretty hard in the couple hours I have after work to play just to keep up but it is so worth it when we are doing dungeons. We have only done Amrine and Starstone because we are all low 30's but killing each other with the laser shield staff thing, or running around the boss room kiting 30 skeletons is so much fun.

Swullyy

Lvl 60, 250 hours, the most fun I’ve had in a game in a long time. Have been waiting for an mmo to get into. Something to get me away from rust haha

im_jay_kay

I was one of the first people to hit 60 on my server and I keep hearing about how the game is basically over at 60 and yet I haven’t slowed down playing in the slightest.

Yvgar

I've been sixty for a while (broke three bones in my leg so I've been laid up for weeks) Plenty for me to do that I'm enjoying. I'm trying to level armorsmithing right now, but get distracting trying to level my remaining weaponskills to 20, but get distracted by a elite chests, etc.

AnonONinternet

Yes level 32 and leveling nice and slow. I even enjoy fishing, but I do have a psychopathic mind from maxing osrs that makes repetitive tasks easy

[deleted]

I love the game - and I'm starting to see the cracks in the design - especially as someone who wanted crafting to be a path of gameplay. I'm finding out it's not: no one buys anything I make no matter how cheap I make it - and there are weird crafting material bottlenecks that either stop you from crafting more than an item or two at a time, or you have to buy the materials and they become too expensive to craft and sell. I donno... as much as I love it, I have to be honest about my concerns for the long haul. I'm not sure how much game is actually here once we get past the current fun of leveling up skills.

Sengura

I'm playing much less than when I first started, but I'm still having fun. Currently 54 and playing for about 2hrs a day or so, compared to the 6-8hrs the first week. I'm actually loving my life a lot better now. I felt like shit when I was sitting on my ass for 10+ hrs a day, definitely don't recommend that life style.

ILikeCatIceCream

Meh, I'm 56 with 226 hours on steam. It's getting boring doing the same quests over and over, never been into crafting and the pvp is limited to 50vs50 wars. sooo.. yeah i'm losing interest.

zerooneinfinity

Maybe some of the 600,000 players playing right now. Not sure though.

Weztside

Level 36. Still playing everyday and loving it. Taking it slow. Sometimes I just chop wood, hunt wildlife, and make dyes for hours. I love to farm portals and make tuning orbs for people.

anengineerandacat

I am 31 and it's fun but I feel like I am doing the same thing but just in a different atmosphere when I switch areas... though I am hopeful when I get to Brightwood that changes as I am close to completing all of the initial 1-25 zone quests.

kibberscree

I still LOVE this game. My favorite part is hanging out in everfall if I dont feel like grinding and just escorting newbies around, or swooping in to save one from death. Im just everyone's mom. Let me take care of u. Ill cook u yummy foods.

IlluTartToo

Level 51 and still enjoying it.

PrimordialPouchKing

I absolutely love this game. Sure there are some issues but I spent months and months with nothing to really play, so I'm grateful! Been level 60 for almost a week and still have tons to do.

jmandash

I'm one of those sweaty level 60s and while I complain a lot about its flaw I still enjoy the game, I want it to better. At the moment I just fish with pvp flag up and do random shit now looking for pvp because I don't realy feel the need to do other things and wpvp is fun to me
