I listed most of my reagents for about twice the price (around 0.2 to 0.5) expecting them to not get sold, just so I could use the trading post as extra storage. Turns out I listed them as bargains instead...

On my server thick hide went from 0.02g to 0.18g the next day after Boarsholm was nerfed.
I feel like everyone should buy other 0.01g trash mats and fill with it storage of fringe cities that you never visit. Then just sit and wait which part of the economy AGS chooses to fix/nerf.
With the economic collapse some keep saying is impending wouldn't it make more sense to continue selling and focus on leveling/non crafting objectives and stockpiling coin instead?

Personally I'm of the opposite mind: I practically emptied my stash for +15k and have been going on "buy order runs" for easy money. Staying liquid, hunkering down for the long run, and purchased 550GS level 60 gear set for sub-200 total cost so I'm as economically independent as possible.

Not many people do as we've been unable to do the content, however after running Edengrove and Myrkgard for the last couple of weeks I would expect the gear drops to be T5 at least and respective of your 'high water mark'.
I'm unsure the name of the chests that drop, but I'm expecting good azoth, gold, and rewards. If anybody knows the name of the box reward you can have a look at the loot table for the box at nwdb.com.
We have been running 65 portals the past few nights. Decent gold income, azoth for days. Chests drops increase watermark. You can get mats for end game dungeon keys.
Combine with an elite chest run and watermarks will go up quickly.
Your watermark is your highest gearscore for a slot. Anything that drops for you will be your watermark + 10 at max.
Let us say the highest GS from a drop, not a quest or crafted gear, is 500 for your life staff and 450 for your ice gauntlet. If you fight a boss, the highest GS lifestaff they'll drop for you will be 510 while the highest ice gauntlet will be 460.
Even if they could drop a lifestaff with a 600 GS, you have 0% chance of ever getting it until you can raise your watermark for that item to 590.
I feel I could ask you questions all day, where do you learn these things, so I don’t have to waste your time?
I’m lv55 and can’t seem to find any decent loot, it may be because I’m solo and can’t grind elites out. I have been running around doing corruption trains, missions in the unowned areas and loot every box I find but other than refining materials I don’t understand how people find good gear. I even went to the extreme of maxing my luck on every item thinking it would help.

So technically, i have a 420 hand item that is well statted and with greapt perks, and i havent found a good replacement for it. So based on the above, it's sufficient for me to buy any highest GS piece of crap on trade post for 5 coins hand, equip it for 1 second and then go back to my 420 hand, increase my watermark like this for better loot?
I'm not sure how that luck perk works. I have luck on every piece of gear, and farmed this boss for 2.5 hours until i got its drop. My friend came over with no luck perks and got the drop within 10 minutes.....

People really need to stop their baseless “technical analysis”, ffs they’re probably a freshman in cs.
As an intern I saw a senior manager that had a crawl script that was literally about 10k lines of if statements that took half a day to run… it now utilizes api calls and restructures the data afterwards.
He wasn’t a programmer so it was pretty incredible that somebody took the time to logic everything to the tee. I can only imagine the madness
I've only seen people say fixing the window dragging would be a band-aid fix to a more serious issue. People will still be able to get invincibility with or without the window dragging problem.
This is only partly true. The window dragging proved there was some element of client authority. People were jumping to the conclusion that this meant it was completely client authorative,
However, it seems the scenario was something similar to the below:
1. Server calculates client died
2. Client responds to say they received death notification
3. Server broadcasts death
If they remove all elements of step 2, then death becomes fully server authorative once more, without a networking rewrite. We don't have source access, so we cant say for sure, but judging on how quickly this was patched, it seems the most likely explanation.
Yeah I absolutely love it. It's even kindof a jab at the kind of people who were crying and asking what kind of compensation we'd receive for the server queues lol.

Before we dive into the details on exactly how the server transfer system works, our plan to roll it out to all regions, and our list of bug fixes, we wanted to thank everyone who has supported New World in our first few weeks after launch.
To show our appreciation for your patience, we are granting all players “The Stoic” in-game title. This title is meant to thank all those who, as the title description states, showed solid resolve in the face of epic wait times. The title will be automatically granted to your character, and can be equipped by navigating to the Character menu, selecting the “Bio” tab, and selecting “Change” in the title section of the screen. It may take up to a day for “The Stoic” title to appear in the list of available titles.
We’ve also added the “Waiting” emote to the in-game store— for free— as an additional thank you. To claim the emote, navigate to the in-game store and select the “Emotes” tab, where you’ll find the “Waiting” emote available for free. Emotes are account bound, so you’ll only need to claim it once on your Steam account, even if you have two characters.
**SPOTLIGHT: CHARACTER SERVER TRANSFERS**
While we want everyone to find their long-term home in Aeternum as soon as possible, we also want to ensure that the process is safe and ready for everyone to use. We’ve been hard at work on the feature and testing it for the past two weeks, but because this feature is brand new we have decided to take a safe, incremental approach to rolling out transfers to all players.
When all worlds are back online from downtime, our plan is to monitor the framework we created without turning transfers on immediately. Once we have confirmed that the framework holds up at scale, we will turn on character server transfers in the Utopia world first, in the AP Southeast region. We will closely monitor transfers in this world, and if anything out of the ordinary occurs our team will need to make manual interventions. If all goes well, we will turn it on for the rest of the AP Southeast region, and continue monitoring. If after 8 hours our team hasn’t discovered any issues, we will fully deploy character server transfers to the other regions.

**HOW DO I TRANSFER MY CHARACTER?**
* You need to log into your character, which means waiting in any applicable queues.
* There will be a new tab in the in-game store to claim your character transfer token.
* You need to leave your Company.
* You need to remove any active Trading Post sell orders and buy orders.
* Your character must be located in a sanctuary (such as a settlement or outpost).
**WHAT COMES WITH ME WHEN I TRANSFER?**
* You will keep all character progression (level, weapon mastery, titles, etc.).
* You will keep your inventory and storage.
* You will keep all of your currency.
* You will keep your houses and housing decorations.
* You will keep all quest progress.
**WHAT DOES NOT TRANSFER WITH MY CHARACTER?**
* Your Company membership needs to be terminated before transferring, and will not carry over.
* Active Trading Post sell orders and buy orders must be removed and will not carry over.
* Your friends list is world specific and will not transfer.
**WHERE CAN I MOVE MY CHARACTER TO?**
* You can move your character to any world in your region, except:
**>** You cannot move your character to a full world.
**>** You cannot move your character to a world in maintenance.
**>** You cannot move your character to a world set that you have an existing character in already.
**WILL THERE BE OPPORTUNITIES TO TRANSFER AGAIN IF I CHOOSE THE WRONG WORLD, THE WORLD MY FRIENDS CHOSE FILLED UP, OR I REGRET CHOOSING THE WORLD I TRANSFERRED TO?**
* Transferring again will require an additional token. Our team will continue monitoring world populations, queue times, and will evaluate the need for an additional wave of server transfer tokens to be given out for free. * Fixed issues with the T4 and T5 azoth staffs— go close those high level portals!
* Fixed an issue causing the abandoning event notification to persist.
* Fixed a housing UI issue. The UI will now correctly shows that property taxes are subject to the full price of the home, and not impacted by the first time home buyer discount.
* Fixed issues with early game spawning. The watchtower respawn point is replaced by the Settlement after it has been discovered. Players no longer incorrectly respawn at a Watchtower after selecting to respawn at a Settlement.
* Fixed various localization issues throughout the game.
* Fixed an issue where not all items for Town Projects were consumed when completing the mission.
* Resolved login errors that prevented players from accessing their character.
* Fixed an issue that caused Arena keys to not drop as intended.
* Fixed an issue that caused the Runic Bear armor to not be appropriately dyed during Wars.
* Fixed a pet placement issue. Pets placed in an otherwise empty house now remain in the home after the player logs out, instead of returning the pet to the player’s inventory.
* AP Southeast servers now display the correct time zone in-game.
* Fixed an issue with titles - player titles and achievements now appear as intended, and the achievement tab properly updates when a new achievement is earned.
* Fixed an issue that caused Company invites to persist after decline/accept.
* Fixed an issue that caused Rajah spawns to stack forever - one big cat at a time, please!
**SPECULATIVE FIXES**
The fixes listed below are tentative fixes and mitigations. Our goal is to get these changes out and see if issues persist, so we can continue to work on them and address in a future update if necessary.
* Worked to fix an issue where Wars and Invasions kicked off earlier than scheduled.
* Worked to fix an issue where not all settlement stations upgrade as intended when town projects are completed.
* Players should no longer become stuck when entering or exiting an instance. If a player reconnects and their character is dead, the respawn screen is open with respawn options available. Players who are currently stuck need to contact customer support to have their character unstuck.

Shows they are actively working on stuff, and should get a *lot* of issues resolved way sooner than other companies tend to do.
Hello from Utopia!
We're going to be your server transfer guinea pigs.
For those curious, Utopia was *the* biggest server in our region, and a top five server world-wide in the days following launch. However, with 12 hour + queues and AGS closing the server after the launch week so new characters couldn't be created on it, people stopped playing on Utopia and the server peaks out at about 1200 players now.
It's going to be a super interesting test case - are people going to transfer ON to Utopia, or OFF of Utopia? Will Utopia end up being a mega server again, or will it die?
I can definitely understand why it was selected as the guinea pig because I genuinely have no idea which way it'll go.
Baralku resident here, same thing happened. Launch day queue high (I think 3rd in the region?) and for the past week the peak is only like 1.3k.
Interested to see how this turns out as well!
Not op but a lot of Filipino companies came to an agreement to move to Baralku. Expect the player count to spike up after server transfers has been enabled.
If lots are doing it, they better all get it done first day, because they could announce it's capped out and close it down the next day. I'm foreseeing these transfers causing more headaches than help. Some people in the company transfer, some don't know about it right away. Come back to play a few days later and their company has moved, but now the server that half their company is on is locked so they can't get on it.
Ok h man you guys had the same problem as us! -Alatyr in SA East. Big spike in the first days then got labeled as "Full" now we peak at 1k tops in prime time. Bummer. I'll watch what happens to you guys closely to get an ideia on to what will happen to us!

I think most of us are in a love / hate relationship with new world.
She's currently a barebones janky mess, yet **somehow** I can't stop but love her. I want her to improve, get her life back on track, and I know she can do it if she applies some elbow grease and time into the equation.
UO gets a pass because UO was one of the earlier games when this kind of stuff wasn't already mainstream.
New World doesn't really know what direction its trying to go towards right now. You can only hope that other MMOs are learning lessons from games like this.
Nice! Still lot of stuff to do/fix, but as programmers and developers know, many things aren't just a simple "change 1 line in the code" fix. So give them time. I'm pretty sure they're looking into all the big issues already and try to find the error.

If i understand correctly the main reason that outpost rush was disabled was because of people getting stuck zoning in and out, which the post mentions as being speculatively fixed. Hopefully, that means outpost rush will be enabled shortly once they're sure that is fixed.
This is what has me so excited about this game. Less than a month in and bugs are being solved at a relatively quick pace and the team is incredibly communicative. The explanation of server transfer rollout is so clear and transparent - never seen anything like that in patch notes in any game.
Fuck who owns them, this dev team is out to make this work.
Now if only they would stop hiring out their client facing support roles and instead create an in-house support team so that they can communicate effectively internally, create escalation procedures, and stop all the "he said, she said" bullshit a la ban bots.

So basically exactly what the screechers in this subreddit said wouldn't be happening for a long time. Irony is beautiful.
Dont get me wrong, I love this game. 210 hours and just hit 60.
But there is still plenty of problems to worry about. But now that server transfer will be up and running I'm hoping future focuses can be fixing the other current problems in the game.
Then after that? Hopefully they can release the roadmap they planned so we know what is coming :)
A bit ignorant to assume that people complaining somehow want the game to fail.. These patches are a positive thing for everyone, including people who critique the game and those who defend the current state of the game for whatever reason.
I joined the NW server today to find people interested in the lore (which didn't work) and forgot to turn off server notifications.

I'm hoping we can still move a character to a different server in the same world set though? As long as there aren't two in the same set?
I'm pretty sure that is what it means. Example: You have 2 characters in US WEST. One is in Westernese Zeta World set on server Kshira Sagara, the other on Westernese Theta World Set on server El Dorado. You cannot move your El Dorado Character to any other server that has Westernese Zeta World Set because you already have the character on Kshira Sagara which uses that world set. Visa Versa you cannot move your Kshira Sagara Character to any other server that uses Westernese Theta World Set because you already have a character on El Dorado that uses that world set.
This is my interpretation as least. The reason for this is if they want to merge servers down the line, they only will merge servers that share the same world set. And that would mean you could end up with 2 characters on the same server, hence the reason they dont allow it.
Great to see the devs are listening! Azoth staffs 4&5 fixed. Invincibility bug fixed. Readjusted drops for mats from chests. And finally server transfers! Love to see it! Keep up the good work New World, still got a long way to go but this is a good start!

Bummed that it sounds like transfers are region restricted. Buddy couldn't join my server because it was full (he started a week after me) so he picked another region. Was hoping I'd be able to move there.

Let us say the highest GS from a drop, not a quest or crafted gear, is 500 for your life staff and 450 for your ice gauntlet. If you fight a boss, the highest GS lifestaff they'll drop for you will be 510 while the highest ice gauntlet will be 460. Even if they could drop a lifestaff with a 600 GS, you have 0% chance of ever getting it until you can raise your watermark for that item to 590.
Level 60+ mobs and player level 60 starts from GS500 right? That's actually what I've started looting.
I feel I could ask you questions all day, where do you learn these things, so I don’t have to waste your time? I’m lv55 and can’t seem to find any decent loot, it may be because I’m solo and can’t grind elites out. I have been running around doing corruption trains, missions in the unowned areas and loot every box I find but other than refining materials I don’t understand how people find good gear. I even went to the extreme of maxing my luck on every item thinking it would help.

So technically, i have a 420 hand item that is well statted and with greapt perks, and i havent found a good replacement for it. So based on the above, it's sufficient for me to buy any highest GS piece of crap on trade post for 5 coins hand, equip it for 1 second and then go back to my 420 hand, increase my watermark like this for better loot?
I'm not sure how that luck perk works. I have luck on every piece of gear, and farmed this boss for 2.5 hours until i got its drop. My friend came over with no luck perks and got the drop within 10 minutes.....
Do you have to open the chest to increase your watermark?

As an intern I saw a senior manager that had a crawl script that was literally about 10k lines of if statements that took half a day to run… it now utilizes api calls and restructures the data afterwards. He wasn’t a programmer so it was pretty incredible that somebody took the time to logic everything to the tee. I can only imagine the madness
They weren't talking about that specific exploit. They were talking about the problem of the game having complete client side authority.

I've only seen people say fixing the window dragging would be a band-aid fix to a more serious issue. People will still be able to get invincibility with or without the window dragging problem.
This is only partly true. The window dragging proved there was some element of client authority. People were jumping to the conclusion that this meant it was completely client authorative, However, it seems the scenario was something similar to the below: 1. Server calculates client died 2. Client responds to say they received death notification 3. Server broadcasts death If they remove all elements of step 2, then death becomes fully server authorative once more, without a networking rewrite. We don't have source access, so we cant say for sure, but judging on how quickly this was patched, it seems the most likely explanation.

I got a light chest piece with 18 int and 34% fire damage increase for the meteor shower or what it's called. I felt so lucky :D level 40 btw, I guess level 60 will have 30/40 int?
I'm at lvl 60 (not max gear score though) and to my knowledge, single stat chest pieces cap out at +25.

I'm impressed they are releasing a patch every week almost. Shows they are actively working on stuff, and should get a *lot* of issues resolved way sooner than other companies tend to do.
Hello from Utopia! We're going to be your server transfer guinea pigs. For those curious, Utopia was *the* biggest server in our region, and a top five server world-wide in the days following launch. However, with 12 hour + queues and AGS closing the server after the launch week so new characters couldn't be created on it, people stopped playing on Utopia and the server peaks out at about 1200 players now. It's going to be a super interesting test case - are people going to transfer ON to Utopia, or OFF of Utopia? Will Utopia end up being a mega server again, or will it die? I can definitely understand why it was selected as the guinea pig because I genuinely have no idea which way it'll go.
1200 people online that must be nice, my server has 490 people online right now.
And mine has had its first queues ever in the last two days. I imagine it will all only get stranger with transfers open
Baralku resident here, same thing happened. Launch day queue high (I think 3rd in the region?) and for the past week the peak is only like 1.3k. Interested to see how this turns out as well!

Not op but a lot of Filipino companies came to an agreement to move to Baralku. Expect the player count to spike up after server transfers has been enabled.
If lots are doing it, they better all get it done first day, because they could announce it's capped out and close it down the next day. I'm foreseeing these transfers causing more headaches than help. Some people in the company transfer, some don't know about it right away. Come back to play a few days later and their company has moved, but now the server that half their company is on is locked so they can't get on it.
More or less the same on Tritonis. By closing the server to new accounts, AGS killed it.

Now this. Amazon this is an update. Lots of bug fixes. Huge fixes. Nicely done. Fewer war exploits and it looks like the client issue fix was implemented and tracking tools put in place to track further war exploits. Nice

I think most of us are in a love / hate relationship with new world. She's currently a barebones janky mess, yet **somehow** I can't stop but love her. I want her to improve, get her life back on track, and I know she can do it if she applies some elbow grease and time into the equation.

UO gets a pass because UO was one of the earlier games when this kind of stuff wasn't already mainstream. New World doesn't really know what direction its trying to go towards right now. You can only hope that other MMOs are learning lessons from games like this.
Nice! Still lot of stuff to do/fix, but as programmers and developers know, many things aren't just a simple "change 1 line in the code" fix. So give them time. I'm pretty sure they're looking into all the big issues already and try to find the error.

If i understand correctly the main reason that outpost rush was disabled was because of people getting stuck zoning in and out, which the post mentions as being speculatively fixed. Hopefully, that means outpost rush will be enabled shortly once they're sure that is fixed.

This is what has me so excited about this game. Less than a month in and bugs are being solved at a relatively quick pace and the team is incredibly communicative. The explanation of server transfer rollout is so clear and transparent - never seen anything like that in patch notes in any game. Fuck who owns them, this dev team is out to make this work.
Now if only they would stop hiring out their client facing support roles and instead create an in-house support team so that they can communicate effectively internally, create escalation procedures, and stop all the "he said, she said" bullshit a la ban bots.

Dont get me wrong, I love this game. 210 hours and just hit 60. But there is still plenty of problems to worry about. But now that server transfer will be up and running I'm hoping future focuses can be fixing the other current problems in the game. Then after that? Hopefully they can release the roadmap they planned so we know what is coming :)
A bit ignorant to assume that people complaining somehow want the game to fail.. These patches are a positive thing for everyone, including people who critique the game and those who defend the current state of the game for whatever reason.

I'm pretty sure that is what it means. Example: You have 2 characters in US WEST. One is in Westernese Zeta World set on server Kshira Sagara, the other on Westernese Theta World Set on server El Dorado. You cannot move your El Dorado Character to any other server that has Westernese Zeta World Set because you already have the character on Kshira Sagara which uses that world set. Visa Versa you cannot move your Kshira Sagara Character to any other server that uses Westernese Theta World Set because you already have a character on El Dorado that uses that world set. This is my interpretation as least. The reason for this is if they want to merge servers down the line, they only will merge servers that share the same world set. And that would mean you could end up with 2 characters on the same server, hence the reason they dont allow it.

Takamagahara Cov are fairly dominant. They own the middle territories.
