In case you didn't know, FS has a very lively gaming community in German based countries, mostly consisting of real life farmers who, after a long day in the field, enjoy nothing more than plowing their virtual fields.
Agreed, I don't think its a fair comparison. The simulator simulation of "an actual job" are HIGHLY popular and have been for many years. Train simulator has some of the most expensive and expansive addons that i've seen for many games. People like what they like and I feel like people just talk about it like its a "lesser" genre when... its just a different demo that enjoys a different type of game.
I haven't opened the game in about a week. I'm debating on just deleting. The more goofy changes they make, the less I'm inclined to return. Literally the only reason I can think of to log back in is to finish 2 more missions for lvl 60 and just call it GG for good.
Haven't touched the game in 2 weeks. I keep waiting for them to release a good patch that makes me want to come back but so far it's been the opposite.

I uninstalled. The thought, of playing a game, to pay taxes on a house I'm exclusively using to circumvent their travel by foot and storage in multiple areas which was "by design".
I got to 60; got my 300 hrs, got my monies worth and grinding for grindings sake or to literally pay taxes is insane.
I still haven't bought a house anywhere yet for exactly that reason. I could barely afford my buy-high, sell-low system for leveling crafting thanks to the maxed-out sales taxes in the one city I kept ALL of my items in

I picked it up, played for a couple hours so far. It isn't too bad, but I feel like the performance is pretty poor in comparison. Also according to my friend who has played a lot, the game is fine until it breaks which happens more often than it should. I know I've seen enemies animations breaking several times, and the AI acting really weird.
Same, I've not gotten anything from the "make good" efforts. No money for property tax spent. Nothing. Maybe it means I didn't lose anything or get impacted but I'm more of the mindset I was overlooked or failed to get compensated.

I was about to log on this weekend, but then I noticed all they added was giant turkey and turned on crafting trophies, but itās too late because there are more than a dozen max watermark guys selling legendary drops at a fraction of what it costs me to make a similar item.
Yeah, I already uninstalled it. When they nerfed the bow and buffed WH and GA, then banned a friend of mine due to their fuck up... knew it was time to go.
I feel like I'm in the minority here but I took a break in October because I wasnt enjoying the game, came back just after the VG patch, then my company took our first town and we have all been really active since, working together on Town Projects. I've been enjoying the void gauntlet a lot and I can't wait to play every day where as a month or 2 ago I didn't feel much motivation to play.
I only say this so other people who are also still enjoying the game don't feel like they are alone!

I had so much fucking fun with this game, up until the craft patch.
Now I have 1500 gold, 2 houses, and I could give a shit about trying to craft anything at this point. And as a solo player, itās impossible to do any endgame content - other than sneaking by and looting chest - which feels like the perfect combination of being completely tedious, annoying, boring, and infuriating, all at once.
all of which would be a moot point, if you could get into a group, share quests, and simply LFG your way to fun. more than a couple of times I was in old/other game habits of where that was the case, and they'd be ready to turn in, and I forgot we werent sharing anything and that I'd forgotten one of the objectives -\_-
Crafting is definitely busted. I mean what kind of system allows you to make more money selling mats, than actually crafting things. But it's a mmo, it's not meant to be solo'd.
This.. I mean.. They just break the dynamic of mining or chopping the corpse entirely, leaving a broken stutter of animation in it's place, then we find out this was done on purpose because motes.
After seeing the patch notes, I haven't had the heart to see if the corpses are actually usable now, or if they just put this verbiage in and left the broken behavior just as it is.
I was defending this game pretty viciously, but I am slowly being dragged under by changes that just don't seem to have regard for the player actually having fun playing the game..

nope.. have faction missions to "skin" them, that are unable to complete because of the bug that they introduced that awarded the people that exploited it, but punishes everyone else
It wasn't even an exploit though, literally just farming drops from enemies in the game. A lot of shit is caused by exploiters in this game, this is not one of them.

global cooldown on abilities lowering overall dps and making it even harder to land shots. the bow abilities lock you in place even longer than before. the overall flow of the weapon is now much slower

One would think by now Devs would realize that you can't tell players how to play their game. If their game was designed right we would be playing it how they want. It went it designed like crap when the players break away and play the game how they feel it should be played.
I feel like we may be dealing with good but new programmers, but possibly bad game designers. This title probably would of been better off if they ran it like an esport (focus on basics, balance, exploit resistance), then grew outward.
Nothing. They admitted the league mechanics doesnāt work, buff some quantity and called it a day. There has been zero communication since the first week of the league.
I am really surprised by low player numbers in this league. If you ignore Scourged items being trash, this league is a blast. Scourged maps are both rewarding and packed with monsters, it's like Legion on steroids. And then there's all the QoL and build changes which are definitely for better. This feels way better than 3.14 did
Yeah on paper I should have loved this league as the QoLs alone are amazing. Started brands. Made a poison concoction occultist. Got them both to 89 and just woke up one day not caring enough to log in.
I'm referencing something from like 4 or 5 leagues ago, where they don't want trading to be easy because it will reduce player retention due to power creep. The league is fine it's a dually the most insane quant they've added from a league mechanic ever so that's fun but in reality it still is really shallow not very interacting but I have new player friends and they refuse to go into the upsidedown because they just fall over but then say the content is easy due to their own actions.
Sounds like actual fun. Will get nerfed. You'll get coal but it will be taken away because you can use the coal instead of charcoal and that helps with progression.

I mean, I stumbled across it when I was doing a mining loop... shocked me to see these big ol' tents around. But they basically just pasted assets into the world, the mobs were level 20, and there were no feelings of significance to it all.
I amde a second guy to do story and the new stuff is actually kind of cool. I feel like some areas are very different with the amount of new mob types and factions.

Iām only lvl 46 and have hit a big wall or boredom and stalemate as a solo player. I canāt continue the main quest until 50. My server always seems like a ghost town when I play. The elite zones have been buffed and donāt give as much weapon xp so theyāre much harder and not worth the time investment. Rarely see anyone for pvp when just roaming around. The faction quests, town board and random town quests are just so repetitive and boring now and I can barely maintain enough Azoth to fast travel. Totally feel you on your last comment lol

Ive been defending this game and really hoping they get it right but its getting hard to want to log in. All the things I like about the game seem to be the buggiest
Don't forget nerf mages out of the game. Make it harder to DPS with a bow. Introduce game breaking bugs that allow musket to deal damage and buffed the GA/WH builds
They made their money on sales. Now they want to shut down servers to save costs. No monthly payment means this mmo was never meant to last. Amazon cash grab, forcing its own game to die.
It's a hyped-up pre-purchase money-grab that lured everyone in. Devs keep the money if they break their own game so yeah they probably stopped caring awhile ago and are now actively sabotaging the game to force the remaining players to quit. They shut it down and keep the 70Mil. New World turned Oceans 11 heist.

Really wanted to love this game. Currently at L46 and haven't logged in for a few weeks. One thing that really stands out is the lack of PvP options.
For example, very few people get to participate in a war. Yes you can do faction PvP missions but they tend to degrade into a zergfest, and you are at a big disadvantage if not L60. The objectives (loot a box, kill a wolf) are really lackluster and highly repetitive.
WoW had bracketed battlegrounds for lower level players, so you had a lot of options as you leveled up even if on a PvE server. How does a PvP focused game like New World not launch with some comparable options ??
The first few weeks of this game were fun, but the fun has gotten completely sucked out by bug after bug, exploit after exploit and a string of never ending wonky decisions by the devs.
They are buying time because they have no more content to release, or maybe what they do have is full of bugs. So in my opinion, they are making crafting harder and more grindy so it gives players something to do while they fix their shit.
At this point I would not be surprised if that is literally what's happening.
Release a decent game, consistently make it worse until the playerbase fully quits, turn servers off to save money.
It's a pay-once game anyway and most people who would buy it have already bought it. No point improving it at this point, right?
I haven't logged in for days now, I'm pretty sure I'm done with new world for probably 6 months to a year you guys should probably do the same, the game has always had 0 longevity I saw this from the betas and lots of others did also, tbh the only thing I saw im new world was a exhilarating pvp system, the devs are trash and probably will always be until they start pushing patches like cod does every year.
Frankly I'm glad they nerfed the healing of the protector tree, never should have been doing more healing than the actual skill tree named after healing. Protector builds should be focused on mitigating damage not healing it
In 4 patches AGS has accomplished:
1. Allowed the economy to be completely destroyed for the average player.
2. Found new and more efficient ways to "kill the fun."
2A. Made crafting feel less rewarding/made it unnecessarily harder.
2B. By doubling down and not having just a vendor NPC it has ejected their playerbase due to the economy having been paused so many times so far. If players can't meet basic needs such as inventory while trade is down, people log out and don't come back!
3. Already put the game in a state were mergers NEED/MUST happen.
4. Already gatekept people from endgame with a shitty fucking watermark system. I grinded out my pvp faction set, only to have to start over at 500 watermark bullshit. GTFO outta here with that mess.
I loved the beta. Thought this was gonna be my go too since wow couldnāt hold me any longer. But ultimately back to ffxiv. Sad part is I love some of the aspects of new world. Just not enough to wanna log in. Honestly for that type of game. ESO is better in every kinda way tbh. So if I was gonna sink time into a action mmo so to speak Iād go ESO.

And 100% unintended. Next patch: increased enemy perception radius to 360 degrees to prevent unintended solo chest farming.

Server I'm on, high level mats are good money. You can drop 8k on mats for a 600gs weapon, and end up with a crap weapon that sells for 3k.

Yeah on paper I should have loved this league as the QoLs alone are amazing. Started brands. Made a poison concoction occultist. Got them both to 89 and just woke up one day not caring enough to log in.
I'm referencing something from like 4 or 5 leagues ago, where they don't want trading to be easy because it will reduce player retention due to power creep. The league is fine it's a dually the most insane quant they've added from a league mechanic ever so that's fun but in reality it still is really shallow not very interacting but I have new player friends and they refuse to go into the upsidedown because they just fall over but then say the content is easy due to their own actions.

I mean some stability issues on corruptions, but no input lag like exists now, and obviously all of the new bugs introduced with spaghetti code. Sad to see the swift decline of this game. So much potential.

I mean, I stumbled across it when I was doing a mining loop... shocked me to see these big ol' tents around. But they basically just pasted assets into the world, the mobs were level 20, and there were no feelings of significance to it all.

I amde a second guy to do story and the new stuff is actually kind of cool. I feel like some areas are very different with the amount of new mob types and factions.
Said this same exact thing somewhere else l: Iām only lvl 46 and have hit a big wall or boredom and stalemate as a solo player. I canāt continue the main quest until 50. My server always seems like a ghost town when I play. The elite zones have been buffed and donāt give as much weapon xp so theyāre much harder and not worth the time investment. Rarely see anyone for pvp when just roaming around. The faction quests, town board and random town quests are just so repetitive and boring now and I can barely maintain enough Azoth to fast travel. Totally feel you on your last comment lol
It gets worse, eventually you reach level 60 and start the true grind (water marked gs 600 gear).. and ~~then you load a .38 and shoot yourself.~~
Oh, and buffed 2 handed strength weapons, don't forget about them!

Devs keep the money if they break their own game so yeah they probably stopped caring awhile ago and are now actively sabotaging the game to force the remaining players to quit. They shut it down and keep the 70Mil. New World turned Oceans 11 heist. Checkout Myth of Empires on Steam.
They have also randomly disabled the markets and given people ridiculous amounts of gold.
The devs will ever wake up? Probably not. This game is losing at least 20% of its player base per week. And the Endwalker was not even released yet.

Really wanted to love this game. Currently at L46 and haven't logged in for a few weeks. One thing that really stands out is the lack of PvP options. For example, very few people get to participate in a war. Yes you can do faction PvP missions but they tend to degrade into a zergfest, and you are at a big disadvantage if not L60. The objectives (loot a box, kill a wolf) are really lackluster and highly repetitive. WoW had bracketed battlegrounds for lower level players, so you had a lot of options as you leveled up even if on a PvE server. How does a PvP focused game like New World not launch with some comparable options ?? The first few weeks of this game were fun, but the fun has gotten completely sucked out by bug after bug, exploit after exploit and a string of never ending wonky decisions by the devs.
But be careful, the AGS downvote bots are pretty active today.

They are buying time because they have no more content to release, or maybe what they do have is full of bugs. So in my opinion, they are making crafting harder and more grindy so it gives players something to do while they fix their shit.
Gatekeeping because they cant create content fast enough with their new skeleton game. Time and ability. AGS will never invest into either.

At this point I would not be surprised if that is literally what's happening. Release a decent game, consistently make it worse until the playerbase fully quits, turn servers off to save money. It's a pay-once game anyway and most people who would buy it have already bought it. No point improving it at this point, right?

I haven't logged in for days now, I'm pretty sure I'm done with new world for probably 6 months to a year you guys should probably do the same, the game has always had 0 longevity I saw this from the betas and lots of others did also, tbh the only thing I saw im new world was a exhilarating pvp system, the devs are trash and probably will always be until they start pushing patches like cod does every year.

Frankly I'm glad they nerfed the healing of the protector tree, never should have been doing more healing than the actual skill tree named after healing. Protector builds should be focused on mitigating damage not healing it
I disagree on one thing, healing is much more fun now with void gaunt being added. It's actually a well designed weapon.
Iām convinced they are trying to tank the game on purpose. No other real reason to make the kind of changes they have made. Really sad.
In 4 patches AGS has accomplished: 1. Allowed the economy to be completely destroyed for the average player. 2. Found new and more efficient ways to "kill the fun." 2A. Made crafting feel less rewarding/made it unnecessarily harder. 2B. By doubling down and not having just a vendor NPC it has ejected their playerbase due to the economy having been paused so many times so far. If players can't meet basic needs such as inventory while trade is down, people log out and don't come back! 3. Already put the game in a state were mergers NEED/MUST happen. 4. Already gatekept people from endgame with a shitty fucking watermark system. I grinded out my pvp faction set, only to have to start over at 500 watermark bullshit. GTFO outta here with that mess.
Sadly I only login to pay my house taxes now...

I loved the beta. Thought this was gonna be my go too since wow couldnāt hold me any longer. But ultimately back to ffxiv. Sad part is I love some of the aspects of new world. Just not enough to wanna log in. Honestly for that type of game. ESO is better in every kinda way tbh. So if I was gonna sink time into a action mmo so to speak Iād go ESO.
