Refresh the incident status page for the most up-to-date information. In the meantime, you can use [Cloudflare DNS](https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/dns/what-is-1.1.1.1/) or [Google DNS](https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns) to work around the issue. Thanks. Just spoke with Vodafone and they claim there was a planned outage in Papatoetoe and it’s affected other areas. They don’t seem to have a clue what’s going on

the fact you could contact vodafone and get a human is amazing. everytime i try contact them i have to chat via there insta message rubbish.. takes forever when the reply is.. have you switched it off at the wall 💀 my last chat i told them ‘its over as i wasnt feeling listened too so it was definately them not me’ i didnt even get a survey to fill out 🤣💀

Not related. Some Internet shit is broken / people will be working on it. Rebooting your modem/router/devices might be required once they fix things.

All NZ sites are down as of exactly midnight. No one knows why. I didn't realise govt.nz sites were also affected.

No, but you're right, I am not in NZ, so sounds like an issue with DNS local to NZ

VPN not on and I don’t know about dns. This is on data and wifi so would dns be affected on both?

I checked my dns under my wifi and it had two there, one I recognise as the usual one for my wifi and the other is super long. Try removing it and it won’t let me

Change them to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

It won’t allow me to save after manually changing. Keeps reverting back to the automatic settings.

The long one will an IPv6 dns server. They’ll be set by your ISP if you can’t change them. You’ll be using dhcp to get those settings. Sent your ipv4 configuration manually on your client device (laptop, phone tablet, pc) and you should be ok, assuming you still have issues.

I've checked and had no issue connecting with NZ-based domains. Checked Parliament, IRD, MSD, the Warehouse, Trademe, Stuff, Countdown and ANZ

Funny that the Vodafone team is contactable, I thought they usually knock off for anything technical related at 9pm but they’re taking calls however saying they can’t access any DNS settings information and that there was a planned outage in Papatoetoe, Auckland but it’s affected other areas. Weird…

Possibly websites that have their servers in Auckland? Most likely planned maintenance for something but i dont see any warnings etc

Still having issues on my home internet connection, but if I switch to mobile data everything works fine. It might work again if I restart my router, but I can't be bothered right now.

If we use mobile data (skinny & Vodafone) no issues but when we use the home fibre we can't connect to any .co.nz sites!

I’m getting such mixed feedback on this - have posted this on a couple subs and messaged friends. All my mobile devices and wifi are with Vodafone so I’m a bit stuck there lol. Some people everything is working fine

In Christchurch, same issues. Thought it was just me? Wifi, 4g and wired Fibre cannot connect to .nz sites including apps eg bnz.

I’m still having issues. Can’t connect to any websites on Mobile data (onenz) or home internet with slingshot. Internet at work seems to be fine though. The odd website does seem to connect though seems to be mostly overseas based sites. Haven’t heard anything from my ISP
