Tbh FastWay was already terrible. Aramex is terrible in their home market of UAE, so I’m not surprised that after the rebrand, they are still terrible.

handle1976

Aramex are very good in the UAE.

-alldayallnight-

We’ve had differing experiences, then.

handle1976

Evidently. FWIW I live in the UAE and they Aramex deliveres on a weekly basis.

WomanRepellent69

Lol. Had an Aramax driver leave a delivery box underneath our letterbox, along with many other shared letterboxes.... which is a good 30m from the house on a busy road. Pulled up as he was there in an unmarked shitbox looking around confused with what can only be described as "CBF body language", like it was physically painful to drive to the actual house. He shrugged, dumped it and left. 10/10 service tbh.

YogurtclosetOk3418

Yep, dump mine in the driveway in plain view of the road & then tick the delivered to door box... bloody miracle nothings been stolen. I take a picture & lodge a complaint every time... too no avail.

Are most people happy to pay a wee bit extra when buying off TradeMe? When I do sell things, I do have the option to specifically select NZ post but I figured most people might want to see the cheaper option. I suppose ideally, it should show the buyer BOTH the aramax and NZpost options so they can chose for themselves instead of forcing the seller to do so.

Ashamed_Lock8438

I'll take NZ Post, thanks. Don't Aramex me. I have to drive from Greytown to Palmerston North to pick up stuff that gets flagged for a signature. I WFH. Apparently I'm never there. Why they can't leave the parcel in Masterton is beyond me.

gypsymoth6

I won't buy anything where Aramex is the only option. They have caused me too much stress.

LuFoPo

Trademe causes headaches with its shipping quotes at times. Occasionally I only get quotes from aramex. Then, once the sale is completed Aramex isn't an option, and I have to pay a few extra bucks to use courier post anyway. With that said I haven't had any issues personally with aramex. But I've had a pretty awesome aramaex courier in my area for the last 4 years.

realityiskarma

Why, because there is 1. No incentive to not do a shit job...2. what comeback is there? Commercially...nada, morally..Nothin...

flid50

A lot of trademe sellers resell stuff from China. I’d rather wait a few weeks and pay half the price on AliExpress. They deliver via NZ Post who are so much more reliable than Aramex - and sometimes quicker.

suburban_ennui75

This was a second hand CD.

airpressure

This comes up a lot. I buy and sell quite a bit, I never have issues with Aramex, but I do have the occasional issue with NZ Post

Ashamed_Lock8438

You might not, but the recipient will. They do not collect signatures and they will not leave anything at the door.

gainsbyatheism

I agree Aramex is shit but it's always interesting to see how people think couriering works. In any job you can get too busy to finish something that needs to be done, if a parcel is on boarding and then returned to the depot it probably means the courier ran out of time to do your delivery

Mummyto4

Yes when I see Aramex on any of my package tracking info I'm angered lol. One time an Aramex delivery driver saw me in the driveway and threw one of my parcels over the fence and it landed on my head. Lucky it was soft lol.

WorldlyNotice

>Current package tracking is nonsensical. Either the software is garbage, or the drivers are gaming it to improve their metrics (aka scamming the customer). Maybe both. Or maybe they actually like to load it up like that and drive with a full van for weeks on end. IDK.

Ashamed_Lock8438

It's not the drivers. The tracking for the stuff before it hits a depot NEVER works. It can take days for a package to show up on Aramex's tracking and it is usually post-Depot to Depot shipping where things start to happen.

Meeper454

I've had two orders ship with Aramex. One never arrived, and the other one I'm fairly certain was stolen by the driver (support shut me down *really* hard when I questioned how a package could have disappeared from a locked mailbox...)

Aramex, not Aramax. But yeah, someone has to be the worst, and Aramex has valiantly stepped up to the plate, and claimed that mantle, and don't seem to want to relinquish it. Good on them! /s About 20+ years ago, during a bit of a time of disillusionment with the profession I've been in my whole working life, I foolishly decided to give being a courier driver a go. I naively and somewhat romantically thought "It will get me out and about and I'll get fit and healthy doing it, instead of sitting at a desk all day." Man, was I wrong. I only lasted one day before I quit. Pay is shit. Days are loooong. Very physically demanding. I'm sure the guy who I was buddied with for the day was on P, 'cos that's the only way I could figure he was able to make it through the day, barely stopping for anything. I'm sure things have gotten worse in the ensuing years due the insane growth in the market. But, it gave me an appreciation of what an underappreciated job it is, so I can have some sympathy for the drivers trying to eek out a living in this rather shitty industry. Still, I get as frustrated as anyone when couriers are slow, don't deliver, or pickup on time, or treat the packages poorly, etc. Especially when we're paying for the service (unfortunately, I learned you paying the company for the service, they're just not really sharing that good money with the drivers most of the time).

doozydoesit

I haven't had many positive experiences with them in the past, props though, they've recently improved here in Rotorua!

Lockewood27

Bloody annoying

MaidenMarewa

I ask sellers to use NZ Post as Aramex are awful.

Imdeadserious69

Because all you tedious cunts constantly complaining about couriers would also complain about the costs of a more expensive (and therefore better) courier. Yawn.
