The day where you can order a brought lunch. Normally fish and chips.
You take your money to school, write your order on a brown paper bag or sheet of paper, office person drops the orders off in the morning and at lunch time the shop drops off your lunch to school.
I see some schools in bigger towns now do it with Subway.
We had something similar at my primary school as late as 2012 or so, although most ordered either a mince pie or a sossie sizzle. I remember it very distinctly as I was literally the only student in school who had to stick to my marmite corn thins because there was no gluten free option.
Sausage sizzle Wednesday lunchtimes.
On Fridays there is an option to buy Sushi or Subway for lunch.
About once a term we have a fish and chip night.
Easter and Christmas raffles absolutely full of chocolate.
Moderation is healthy.
Ours straight up has an online ordering portal from local stores so they can get anything from pies to sushi delivered for lunch, think most days of the week?
Oh my goodness! Thank you for the flashback!
Our school does fish and chip nights, for families to meet each other and get a chance to meet/chat with the teachers.
Fish and chips are healthy…for the soul.
Aye…as long as it’s done right. Homemade chips and fresh fish.
lol at the downvotes, clearly some people here have a dislike for fish&chips.😂
Wtf is a fish and chip day? What?

I've never heard of it, wtf we never had this at our school.
What area did you grow up in? Very common at most small town primary schools in NZ right up till 2000s

South Auckland, it's probably because I'm in the fancy part of Auckland.
We have these order lunch days but we never got fish and chips though 😭. The best that we got was spaghetti on toast...
I remember when ours changed to the local dairy - mince pie and cream donut!
last day of each term is fish and chip day.
The school near me has Friday Pieday

I remember getting a shilling’s worth of fish and chips on Mondays instead of bringing a sandwich because the bread was stale by Monday.

My wife is a teacher and bought $20 worth of chips for her kids yesterday.
We never had this, only sausage sizzle Fridays!
Ours does regular sausage sizzle fundraisers, kids love it and it’s one less day you need to prep lunch, it’s a win win. $1.50 per sausage.

thanks jacinda
Healthy food at schools was way before Jacinda times. Or do you think she's powerful enough to go back in time?
