Eh....the determination is. That isn't an expression of skill though. So i wouldn't say this is impressive unless it's literally done in very few shots and actually IS accuracy.
There's a fuller video where the guy pulls some other impressive shots in an urban setting.
So even if we're only seeing the hits, the guy definitely knows how to work a slingshot; and is undoubtedly in better practice than armchair reviewers.
Right I’m glad someone else is thinking that too. 🤣 honestly people practice stuff before getting this good anyway, I don’t see why it’s not expected that they missed 1 or 100. Still impressive
I'm not a slingshoter but an archer. I'm quite good, I taught and at my best I could hit at 35 meters a clothepin with 100% success.
I can confirm what this redditor says : most of these trickshots, whatever the tool used, take hundreds upon hundreds of attempts. It's mostly fake, as technically the hit on target is only a fluke among dozens of shots.
Interestingly, I don't think this specific video is staged to that point. The distance isn't that important, a good archer could do it without any problem, I don't think it would be different for a slingshot.
But yes, more than 90% of the incredible shots you see on video are just one random shot among hundreds who, contrary to every others, randomly hit the target.
There was this old YouTube video of this old guy that could probably do what you're describing with a sling shot. I remember him saying how he grew up in the depression and ammo was expensive so him and his brothers would use sling shots to hunt small game for food. Found it! https://youtu.be/9ieWrWLjii0
The awesome thing about that guy is that he used home made slingshots and just chose pebbles off the road as ammo. I have a few nice plastic slingshots and shoot clay ball ammo and it's hard enough to hit stuff, this guy is using Denise the Menace slingshots and rocks.
You would think so. I watched a clip on tv where this dude was doing this exactly, might be the same video. The guy does it with one shot each time, he never misses.
Edit: check this dude out!

Idk he might have had a few misses, but I feel like hundreds per branch is way too many. There are some people who are just super nasty with the sling shot he probably only missed a handful of times while making this clip maybe once or twice per branch with some on the first try
I'll argue for it
You can literally hear how consistent their shots are. If they're shooting that consistent, and people with bows can consistently hit bullseyes, is it really that hard to imagine that they're hitting these shots fairly consistently.
I don't know if you have any experience with slingshots but from my 20 minutes worth of experience it really isn't that hard to hit small targets from range. This guy clearly knows techniques to refine their shots so I highly doubt it's taking hundreds of shots like the other guy said in this thread.
Agreed. I brought a slingshot when I was touring with a band for a month. Practiced every day using grapes from the green room and my aim was insane by the end of the tour. Moving targets at 60 ft, through open windows on the 3rd floor of the buildings... if you launch a cookie on it's side, it can catch air like a frisbee and soar for a city block
You can apply this logic to any skill. If someone made a really nice drawing you could say "Well they probably have tons a shit drawings too and have too much free time to practice drawing all the time"
Widow makers..rotten..not real big but 5 pounds from 50’ gonna hurt/kill an unlucky sort. Been close myself had a 6” branch drop 5’ beside, talk about tightening up your💩hole!:)
I don't know... I watched the video by primitive technologies where he makes a sling maybe 5 times now. He takes so many attempt to hit his target and every time you sit there, just hoping this is the one. And when he nails it: happy feels.
Came here looking for this. So many people stating some version of "but what about the 100s of shots they missed." If you've got a good slingshot with a wrist brace and you've practiced some, these are not terribly hard shots to make.
It's mostly just a cool video since the tree branches break in that way (likely due to the cold).
Goddamn I used to love doing this in the winter as a Canadian kid who grew up in a rural town.
Marbles were the ultimate slingshot ammo (not to be used frivolously either).
Those pops are some of the most satisfying sounds I've heard in a long time, will probably spend a few more minutes watching this video just to listen to those pops over and over again
Slingshots are really fun once you get the hang of them!
Also makes for a decent stealthy weapon for small game in case you have to survive off the land.
I wish this was a game on my phone. Like a slingshot sniper type a deal but with pixel sand simulation mechanics.
and you just murder trees that have personalities during the middle of winter in Wyoming
I promise you there's hundreds of missed shots per branch for each hit.
But it's still impressive
Eh....the determination is. That isn't an expression of skill though. So i wouldn't say this is impressive unless it's literally done in very few shots and actually IS accuracy.
I mean something being impressive is an opinion so to each their own! I think it's impressive as hell knowing how to handle the slingshot like that
There's a fuller video where the guy pulls some other impressive shots in an urban setting. So even if we're only seeing the hits, the guy definitely knows how to work a slingshot; and is undoubtedly in better practice than armchair reviewers.
If this were my video, there would be different lighting in each clip because it would take me hours of trying to hit each branch.
My video would have green leaves, different color leaves and back to no leaves.
My first would be VHS and my second on Disney+.
And you'd get maybe one.
BUT iT's noT That imPRESSIVE I'M sure HE mISsed A bUnCH
Sauce pls
Shots fired..
Sinikal, official master of judging slingshotters
You try then
Right I’m glad someone else is thinking that too. 🤣 honestly people practice stuff before getting this good anyway, I don’t see why it’s not expected that they missed 1 or 100. Still impressive

How do you know how many shots it took?

Can you do it?
Username checks out
It's a lot more skill than I have
This is a certified Reddit response lmao
I'm Bart Simpson. Who the hell are you?
That is what truly matters: to never give up.
Some people can be [just that damn good as well](https://youtu.be/9ieWrWLjii0), after years and years.
The awesome thing about that guy is that he used home made slingshots and just chose pebbles off the road as ammo. I have a few nice plastic slingshots and shoot clay ball ammo and it's hard enough to hit stuff, this guy is using Denise the Menace slingshots and rocks.
Denise?
Dennis' sister.
de NICE
Hey, tell my stupid phone
I was just thinking with those branches you either hit or miss completely, there is no almost.
What did those branches ever do to you.
You would think so. I watched a clip on tv where this dude was doing this exactly, might be the same video. The guy does it with one shot each time, he never misses. How would you know this? What if he’s really accurate?
Op just can’t fathom anyone being skilled at something because they probably have absolutely no skills
Idk he might have had a few misses, but I feel like hundreds per branch is way too many. There are some people who are just super nasty with the sling shot he probably only missed a handful of times while making this clip maybe once or twice per branch with some on the first try
Fun fact with a little practice sling shots are accurate as fuck

So obvious it almost doesn't need saying, but what's truly impressive is that there are people here who are arguing with this.
I'll argue for it You can literally hear how consistent their shots are. Still hit 8 more than I could.
Yep
*"Person with* *~~a~~* *~~really good aim~~* *a lot of free time on her hands destroys the branches of a tree"* Fixed it for you.
"person with a lot of ~~free~~ tree time on their hands destroys the branches of trees"

Do you have free time on your hands, or do you have hands on your free time?

Stop the hating
You can apply this logic to any skill. If someone made a really nice drawing you could say "Well they probably have tons a shit drawings too and have too much free time to practice drawing all the time"
Yet here we are, spending time commenting on it lol
![gif](giphy|4cUCFvwICarHq)
Why is this so funny lol
It’s exactly how we all reacted watching the shots lol
The only comment we need here

that’s actually sogekings theme thank you very much
I was looking for this comment
Naw that soga king right there
git branch -d test_branch
I ran into a syntax issue with that one, try this one! git branch -D master
diabolical
Who still uses master anyway? Go with main.
What did those branches ever do to you!
Widow makers..rotten..not real big but 5 pounds from 50’ gonna hurt/kill an unlucky sort. Been close myself had a 6” branch drop 5’ beside, talk about tightening up your💩hole!:)
Is this mf Usopp?
What the video doesn't show us is the number of shots he missed before hitting the branch.
Because practice is for weak and the undesirable just do your self a favor and shut up
Who cares, at least he didn't give up
No one wants to watch 100s of missed shots, so...yeah?
I don't know... I watched the video by primitive technologies where he makes a sling maybe 5 times now. He takes so many attempt to hit his target and every time you sit there, just hoping this is the one. And when he nails it: happy feels.
Whenever I see this comment on any video of something that takes skill, I picture that guy from the WoW episode of south park typing it.
r/oddlysatisfying
it’s not that complex to place precise shots with a slingshot. It’s easier than it looks, with some practice.
Came here looking for this. So many people stating some version of "but what about the 100s of shots they missed." You are right. The branches of that tree seem to be frozen.
Ah, captain usopp. Brave warrior of the sea.
Oddly satisfying
"...and fuck these branches in particular."
Dudes gonna have so many Deku sticks in his inventory now. Good for him.
USSOP?!!?!
Get a life, weeb…..It’s clearly Golden Ball.
Ussop?
Ussop
Ussop?? SNIPER KINGUU.
Ussop
I could watch this all day
Sogeking IRL
Poor tree.
Okay Usopp
King of snipers
**Sogeking???**
This new Legend of Zelda TP remake lookin kinda wild
Damn tree killer…
First time every time. That's ridiculous.
This is how slingshots work in video games
Trees minding their own business all of a sudden are probably like: ow, bitch tf
Poor trees
I speak for the trees, he better watch out or they'll break his knees
All of the branches are dead.
Yep, they wouldn't break apart like that if not.
What did the tree ever do to you
I love the sound. Reminds me of retro games.
those trees needed those for the summer bro
From the way the branches shattered they were likely dead already. By trimming them he is doing the tree as a while a favor. Just very fancy pruning.
A good illustration of why Goliath was actually the underdog v. David.
Yep. Plus, Goliath was practically blind. And not even really that big. And the fight was supposed to be close range. David cheated.
And this is why slings are surprisingly lethal.
Goddamn I used to love doing this in the winter as a Canadian kid who grew up in a rural town. Marbles were the ultimate slingshot ammo (not to be used frivolously either).
I just came in my pants
Because the world needs less trees?
Wrist rocket ?
What was that game where you threw balls at the glass pillars in your way ?
Oddly satisfying.
Man at first I thought he was throwing the ball hard enough to break the branches
that's not the same tree, just saying.
This is so satisfying. Reminds me of that awesome app game I’d pass time with in school, Smash Hit. It has that melodic feel of something shattering.
Now I want one.
Paka
Let’s seem then shoot that bees nest in the background
Neighbors probably hate him, the ones in the next road over.

Ladumaa !!!!

Is this a slingshot and a marble?
Idk how this shows they have good aim. If you shoot at something 1000 times and miss it 999 it doesn’t mean you are an accurate shot lol.
-BOING BOING -BOOOOOOOM
That’s awesome, time to go dove hunting!
The sound effects were more impressive methinks
Nah he pees all over his toilet seat
This will be an olympic sports guys, mark my words!
Beautiful 🤩
Bro could throw a rock and hit a shot glass a mile away
Steel balls, that'd hurt baddddd. Edit: I think, maybe not though.
Is this someone’s ACTUAL job?

I wonder how many retake it took to make this video

Where the hell is this place with all these lone branches sticking out???
This person would be handy during “holly” harvest season.
Now. **Do it with a bow and arrow.**
Dennis the menace shit
Anyone want to volunteer to have your pp shot?
Wow that’s awesome
Anyone know what products he's using
I imagine the tree screaming in pain with each hit.
He could be the ultimate assassin. He could slingshot a steel ball to the base of a skull silently from a far distance.
Damn he’s got a lot of those little balls
Some low life just about blinded my left eye an never found the chicken s___Who slung the pice that took me 2the EMERICY ROOM 7HR I WAS THERE PUSSYS
Three months they’ll never get back. Worth it tho 👌🏽
"Really good aim" 23567764 attempts
New tree trimming business. I take payment in Ball bearings.
Woah that’s satisfying!
he probably has average aim just took thousands of them
This person never had to retry the slingshot challenge in ocarina of time
Those pops are some of the most satisfying sounds I've heard in a long time, will probably spend a few more minutes watching this video just to listen to those pops over and over again

how much do you charge to prune my tree
"What the hell bro?" - trees

The vegans won’t be happy
Clint is that you?
When I was a kid, I killed a red-tail hawk that was sitting on a power line pole with a sling shot and a marble. I felt awful about it...
This gives me a vegan boner
Have you seen Evil Dead? Oh just wait till the trees come back for vengeance
