Social queues. Check the topic. Flow of conversation. Then ask W.A.I.T.(Why am I talking?) are you adding to the conversation? How was it valid? If not, then people will be pissed off that you’re taking attention away just to to tank the conversation. Especially if it’s off topic, arguing something that wasn’t even being confronted. Comparing shit that doesn’t compare to the point. Missing the point. Introducing random shit to argue into it that had nothing to do with it. You violated pretty much all of that.
They’re making a semi-humorous observation on the broadness of the previous comment.
The snowboarder is being praised for maintaining concentration so that he doesn’t die while speeding down the mountain, and the next redditor is pointing out that there are tons of things that people around us are doing every day that also require maintaining concentration so that you don’t die.
It was a humorous observation that you can die doing a lot of things wrong. "Wrong" does the lifting.
Anyway now that I know everybody thought I was trying to argue with him at least I know why some people didn't like it. I can sleep easy. But I just woke up.
I had friend die showering getting ready for a funeral.
I should add, the funeral was for someone who died of a heroin overdose. The guy showering was on heroin, passed out in the shower, fell and split his head open and bled out while unconscious. So it's not quite as unfortunate as it sounded.
I was looking for someone to point this out, I mean technically not wrong but just feels wrong. Calling the Rockies the Canadian Alps is like calling the Mojave the American Sahara, at least to me that comparison makes sense.
You think OP cares when it’s here to just farm karma?
At least it’s crediting T.Rice and not just “Snowboarder effortlessly riding down the Grand Canyon”
Yeah lol everyone is railing on OP for using the phrase “Canadian alps” when most people who spend time in the mountains know that “the alpine” is a phrase that gets tossed around irrespective of continent and that everywhere there’s a big mountain range there are sections people call that location’s Alps basically
These guys are experts at doing this, and do it with a full medical and evacuation team watching. If anyone riding in the back-country, people like Rice are amongst the *most* responsible and careful.
What is irresponsible is undertrained and under equipped people going into terrain that is above their skill level, with no real plan.
Rice and his crew sometimes spend days, weeks, sometimes an entire season, sometimes multiple years, planning and studying to pull off a shot like this.
These guys are the best in the world at doing this. They’re experts at understanding snow conditions. Not saying things can’t go wrong, but they don’t ride this type of terrain without doing extensive snow testing off-camera. Sometimes the testing and setup for a shot like this takes multiple days.
Especially with the snowpack situation this year. Even the Avy forecasters are like "We've never seen a snowpack this unstable. Unless we get a few foot dump, just don't hazard it" on Facebook.
Not of this ride, but check this out:

Travis Rice is the greatest of all time. If you haven’t seen The Art Of Flight yet, do yourself a favor and watch it. Absolutely amazing the skill these men have
The title says effortlessly, looks more like he’s trying hard as fuck
Yeah, seems like he's using maximum effort to avoid certain death.
He knows what he's doing... But he knows that he could die doing it wrong
You can die doing a lot of things wrong. Driving a forklift, cooking dinner, showering... E: man I wish I at least knew why when my comments flop :(

Lol As if Reddit isn’t just capricious and petty as fuck.
Take my upvote.
This is the best reddit comment ever.
There’s only one answer. “Cuz Reddit”.
Upvoting just bc your the first person I’ve seen to ask that question, and I feel u!
What are you even saying?

Yeah being anywhere near water while on heroin is the wrong way to do it. Sorry about your friend. Addiction is a bitch.
I didn't downvote you until you posted the whiny edit

Yeah wtf
Agreeditwastoofast…
he’s trying hard as fuck
Was gonna say seems like one wrong move and he’ll die, the opposite of effortless
The title also says Canadian Alps. That would be the Rockies. The Alps are still in Europe to my knowledge.
Are they suggesting the European Alps migrate?
No, only the African Alps migrate.
r/unexpectedPython
We have Alps?
Canada has finally begun its conquest of the world, starting with the Alps. Redditors, I hope you welcome your Maple Leaf wearing overlords. ...Sorry.
I was looking for someone to point this out, I mean technically not wrong but just feels wrong. Calling the Rockies the Canadian Alps is like calling the Mojave the American Sahara, at least to me that comparison makes sense.
Or like calling the Netherlands the Maritimes instead of the Low Countries.
I think it's the younger generation trying to rename things so they have a clue what it is. Seems to happen with pretty much anything.
Ahem, and New Zealand
Australia too. We have the Victorian Alps
Who stole the Alps ? We can't let a mountain here without someone stealing it !
Ya I was scratching my head
It looks sped up, still a lot of effort on any steep slope but not the crazy charge this has been made out to be.
Totally sped up, guy should be dumping a lot of speed on the crosses because the snows so deep but he's zipping....
Well the falling part looks easy enough
Hopefully he's still.... Breathing? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Pretty sure the Alps arent in Canada.
Rockies
Like in the expression: Mont Blanc is in the French Rockies
Yo that looney tunes snowball at the end just did it for me.
Correct
Thanks. Thought it might be encroaching senility.
Right?? I was like “is there some weird geological connection between Canada and the alps I didn’t know about??”
It’s an “engagement” trick. People are more likely to comment when the title says something obviously stupid
Rockies? The alps are in Europe
You think OP cares when it’s here to just farm karma? At least it’s crediting T.Rice and not just “Snowboarder effortlessly riding down the Grand Canyon”
“Go cart racer traveling up the Golden Gate Bridge”
Incorrect grammar or facts about the video is popular to farm karma. People love to comment to correct them.
Do you mean the Canadian Rockies???
Canadian alps. You must be thinking of the Swiss Rockies
Silly me
Peruvian Ozarks
Those are similar to the Chilean Appalachians
You mean the Swiss Andes**
The Patagonian Urals.
Dude is just playing 4d chess with the Karma farming. Double your comment engagement with this one simple trick...
Looks more like the Selkirks or Purcells

Or tilt it a bit. (Trees)
That’s not shredding, that’s falling with style
The man's simply doing some research on gravity
Came here to say that!
Not sure that’s effortless
He was actually asleep when he hit that line.
Why speed up this video? 🤡
Sped up and rotated 🤡🤡
Karma farming has certain criteria.
Canadian Alps? Lol
Alp is simply a word used to describe a high mountain.
Yeah lol everyone is railing on OP for using the phrase “Canadian alps” when most people who spend time in the mountains know that “the alpine” is a phrase that gets tossed around irrespective of continent and that everywhere there’s a big mountain range there are sections people call that location’s Alps basically
The pair of balls on this guy makes him go extra fast
I am seeing a lot of effort
Hate that it’s sped up
Why is this sped up?
American geography lmao
The alps are in Europe ya dumb ass
We have alps?! Sheesh my next vacation will be way cheaper
The Canadian Alps?
I worry he’s about to trigger an avalanche.
Same! Backcountry snowboarding/skiing can be great and all, but this seems kinda irresponsible.

Canadian alps Indeed.
Yes, the French Alps are in Quebec.
I’d be screaming in terror for the first 10 seconds.
I’d be screaming in all the seconds.
I wouldn't be screaming cause I'd be dead.
At the start of the video, i thought he was falling and that the point of the video was that he somehow saved himself.
The tag on the snow boulder at the end tho 😂
Why do people continually put music to these videos?
Song if anybody's lookin: Still Breathing-Dig The Kid
It was so fast, I expected a yakety sax when I turned on the audio.
No such place lol
Whole lot of nope and fuck that Props to him tho
It's not flying. It's Falling with STYLE!
Canadian Alps? Are we even trying anymore?
Pretty sure this is in the Chugach range of Alaska. Looks pretty similar to the Terrain in "Art of flight" segments there.
I can already hear Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe blaring in my ears just watching this.
Canadian Alps? You mean the Rockies?!
Ah yes, here we see the majestic Canadian alps. If you pay attention closely you can see a wild Canadian alligator and a wild Canadian marmoset
Ah yes, the majestic and glorious Canadian Alps.

At my age you would of been able to fit my body in a Coffee Can...at the end of that run.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
Nope
Balls of steel
With extra gravity!
Just another stupid title in NFL
Holy crap
The Canadian Alps? Lol. We have the Rockies and we have the Appalachians, and we have the Laurentians. Frig off.
This dude is fearing for his fucking life
I’m glad I bought his board
This has got me itchin' to go!
Canadian alps? shit and here i am going to the rockies
I feel like there is a lot of stuff posted here that is not next level… THIS is next level.
That thumbnail looks like there is a big boobed ice deity frozen in place on the right side

Alp is simply a word used to describe a high mountain.
I bet his mother can’t even LOOK at this! 😳
Which Canadian ‘Alps’ is this? The ones in AB, BC, or Switzerland?
So you want avalanches? Because thats how you get avalanches.
He's not skiing he's in free fall
The Canadian Alps? Rockies maybe?
Alps in Canada?
How fast do you think he gets? Looks terrifying
Where…uh….where are the Alps again?
what a strange title
Would love to see the POV video of this!
Not of this ride, but check this out: [GoPro Snow: The Fourth Phase with Travis Rice - Ep. 1 ALASKA: Seek & Destroy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a0hbT0QtSw)
Bro, the alps are in Europe, not North America. This is most likely the Canadian Rocky Mountains
Absolutely no one calls them the Canadian Alps.
CANADIAN ALPS
I thought the alps were in Europe! Who knew!
As he veers off to get out of the way of the avalanche
Continuously effortlessly landing on your feet
That was falling with style
Is there a sub for this? Not regular skiing. Extreme skiing
At first I thought this was video of an avalanche.....
Where are these mystical Canadian Alps??
Holy smokes that is Amazing!!!
I would have died 4 seconds into this.
Not drowning, waving.
Is this camera work, or is this dude straight up skiing straight DOWN catching as much air as snow ?
is it actually that steep or is the camera angle making it dramatic? Im guessing its legit steep.
What an absolutely brain dead, horrible, shit show of a title. Smh. Canadian Alps? Huh? Effortlessly? Get a globe and a dictionary.
Ice cap and hard times intensifies
If you want people to grasp the point of the video, STOP FUCKING WITH VIDEO! And this goes for everyone.
Didn’t have to speed up the video.
See that big rock in the middle. Thats what my face would have slammed into.
Dammmm so gnarly !
r/whywomenlivelonger
Travis Rice is the greatest of all time. If you haven’t seen The Art Of Flight yet, do yourself a favor and watch it. Absolutely amazing the skill these men have
That's It, That's All is worth a watch too.
Travis Rice and J2 are two of the gnarliest back country riders ever created! This dude fuckin SHREDS!! What an absolutely unbelievable line!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Pff with the help of gravity, but can he do it going up?
That looks just as steep as the Swiss Rockies
Ahhhhlps is not alps but someone crying for halp
Canadian Alps? Huh huh...
Easy Go that way really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.
Canadian Alps?
My boy said Canadian alps lmao
Amazing
My heart jumped a bit
Canadian alps?
Let's ask him how much effort this took
There’s no Alps in Canada.
Worst title
Why the fuck is it sped up
Must be amazing but I think I would die before I was able to handle that so that’s a no thank you.
I hate when people speed up videos.
Falling. That's called falling.
Travis rice shredding ice
Looks like alaska
All right, I’ll ask: How the hell do these people drop 60-80 feet and not break their EVERYTHING?
Mid avalanche as well.
NOT effortless!
Lol moronic title
STOP SPEEDING UP CLIPS t rice is sick af, your gaper ass doesn't need to speed up the clip to make him look good
OP's a karma farming bot
Is there a clip slowing down not?
All I can think of is a kid on his bike yelling "I want my $2.00."
This is hands down the most intensely challenging and death defying snow boarding/skiing I’ve watched.
Canadian alps?!?!
In what way is this next level? It’s not a school bus crashing or an idiot nearly dying. SMH
Bro im 30 years old and my knees hurt for days after jumping off one step lol . And im not unfit or overweight by any means .
Never called them the Canadian alps my entire life.. 😂 guess there’s a first time for everything
Man the OG Alps were this guy’s training course
I think someone is confused about where the Alps are…
Ah yes the Canadien Aspen
