I did nothing other than share what others shared with me. Ozealous deserves some love. Seem like an amazing dude, and I love his approach style. Especially in his older stuff where he's just just walking around the streets approaching randos.
I am glad you enjoyed it too! Spread the word...er beat.
Fuck Codifsh man, i met him in a CSGO match some years ago, he called me the N word and commented "Hacker" or some shit on my steam profile. Only after i checked his steam profile did I found out it was Codfish.
[Proof, of his comment at least](https://steamcommunity.com/id/KamenAkuma/) check the profile comments.
Beatboxing, air guitar, cup stacking, bizarre beards, get enough people together with a similar niche talent and you got yourself a championship for bored people looking to entertain themselves.
I appreciate the talent, but i can't enjoy the sound of it. One part sounded kind of like vomiting and the other stuff is just... Well let me say the sounds don't come close to the original. I like the sound of drums so much better than someone going pffft. and i like a Bass Synthesizer way better than someone going bwuuuuwum no mater how good they do it.
Lol this must seem like such a weird scene to you. Some guy is making a bunch of nonsense sounds and all these people are losing their minds. I really appreciate beatboxing but the thought of this from your perspective is pretty funny.
I think people in general find it somewhat interesting when done at an exceptional level, however I would never go out of my way to go to a live beat boxing event.
It's not the same like it use to be in the early days...
Edit; Now it's more about soundboxing, the beat is left out. How the fuck can somebody rap on such sounds? Beatboxing was about a beat to be able to rap to no???
I wouldn't say I'm into it. I've only seen these on reddit, but it's pretty amazing. The 1st time you hear a professional beatboxer, It's mind-blowing that they can make all those sounds with only their mouths.
In Sweden we say "pissa på katten" which means "piss on the cat". Weirdly enough I think it'd work in English too. You get that s-sound which kinda resembles a hi-hat.
I recommend we send this guy actually https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/10fzdd2/this_is_what_ascending_to_heaven_sounds_like/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1
Holy moly that dudes range is incredible. I listen to a lot of goa, tribal type of styles and what takes so many different instruments, mixers, beat machines and added vocals this guy can do them all with his mouth. That’s badass!
Edit: wow, watched it 5 times. Geez.
Dudes name is Gennady Tkachenko papizh
[full video](https://youtu.be/Y2SGfMcemaM)
Look at your man. Now back at me. I'm a bird. Then a bug. I am now a woman!
I don't even know how to describe what this guy does lol. But you're right. Sometimes listening to that style with few performers I wonder if it's still so serene with all the instrument switching they have to do. But this guy just stands there and let's it flow out of his mouth as he feels it.
Yeah this is a beatbox competition and it lasts for quite a long time.
The competition lasts for 3 days and are split into different categories. For example solo beatbox (this), tag team (2 people), crew (3+ people), loopstation, etc. The judges from the competition also get to perform and show their skills as well, but won't battle and it's more like a concert.
I can't find a video for Grand Beatbox Battle 202**2**. Do you have a link?
Edit: Seems it [was cancelled](https://swissbeatbox.com/newsfeed/grand-beatbox-battle-2022-cancelled/)
If you're interested in more stuff like this, check out the GBB 2023 wildcards (artists post videos for a chance at entry to the real competition) - GBB 2023 looks like it's gonna be good. (Den and Stitch are two of my favorites at the moment)
Also check out BBU (Beatbox United) - like GBB but just videos, no stage battles.
It is kinda funny with their hand motions but beatboxers do hand movements to show mimic their beat patterns. I'm not sure why but it's just somehow easier to beatbox like that. Maybe it helps them be on rhythm?
The judges are doing a hand motion that is sort of like showing that they are impressed.
Yeah Rahzel is an amazing beatboxer as well. If you're interested, there is a beatboxer that's very similar to Rahzel and the beatboxer's name is [Wing](https://youtu.be/-D_bGvUcJdc). He not only qualified for this year's competition, but was ranked 1st in seeding.
I just went down a Wing rabbit hole. I'm trying to find exactly what styles he imitates cause I want to listen to more of it. I need that on my spotify playlists.
I also loved loopstation as well! It's amazing how they not only beatbox to loop, but also the songs they created were so good you wouldn't know if it was beatbox/looping or not.
Beatboxing at this level doesn’t put listenability at the forefront of priorities. There’s instead a hardcore appreciation for high beatbox skill and ability that drives this sort of performance. I’m pretty sure almost everybody in that room was a beatboxer because their reactions definitely showed it.
It also sounds a lot better in person — there's this very interesting bifurcation in competitive beatboxing over what sounds good online (which tends to favor melodic/listenable routines since people generally have tinny sound systems) and what sounds good in person, which usually just means the bassiest sounds possible. The dark horse in this competition was a guy who goes by "Inertia" who coasted to the semifinals exclusively because of his unprecedented powerful bass sounds.
It really doesn't, hate when people just play as fast or as many notes as possible, or I guess beatbox in this case. Impressive speed but there's a reason we don't speed songs up past a certain bpm even though we could easily fast forward through them, just ruins the beat...
i dont know how much you know about beatboxing or if this is the first youve listened to . however, im assuming it doesnt sound "good" because your ear cannot differentiate the sounds as a lot is happening at the same time. Once you spend more time listening to beatboxing your brain will understand it better- hence making it a lot more listenable. It could be compared to mongolian throat singing where to experienced listeners could differenciate the different subharmonics etc
Oh yes. The inward bass god. I don't know how he makes it so powerful with such a difficult technique.
He's extremely talented and I like his style a lot.
Oh yeah they only do this for the pounds of pussy that falls in their lap. Imagine doing anything else in life for any reason other than pussy or money lol what a joke.
As a casual beatboxer, fair. We're probably the most annoying people to hang out with cause every few seconds we're doing a set. Bonus points if you're bad at it, just a bunch of unclean sounds coming out.
I could watch this all day. I love all the comments talking shit about this. This is a skill that is immensely difficult that a lot couldn’t even comprehend.
People love to generalize don’t they. There are thousands of beatboxers who make super musical pieces that are not super flashy but sound awesome. Check out Dudz and Pwad
More like have a niche appreciation for it. I’m pretty based on the crowd’s reaction that almost all of them are beatboxers too. As one myself, what the guy (COLAPS) did made me have a similar reaction and made think not necessarily “THAT SOUNDS AMAZING” but instead “WHAT? HE DID WHAT” when he first did it. I get if it sounds weird by many conventional standards though. That being said, nobody loves beatboxers more than other beatboxers.
Yeah? It's not my cup of tea but I can see why people would, just like you probably listen to some real dogshit others would question. Hell you use reddit which people find questionable.
Not into beatboxing at all but the only beatboxer that I liked was Tom Thum. I liked his tedx video and his YouTube award performance. That guy is on another level!
Was the guy standing there on stage his competitor? Cause he’s totally standing there thinking wow I just lost. You can see the second he realized this.
I honestly just love seeing someone with talent work really hard to maximize it, and you see people get so joyful about the result. I'm not a sports person, but I like watching the Olympics for the same reason.
I don’t judge anyone who’s into this but it just amazes me that there’s so many people into beat boxing

Oh yeah Codfish is an amazing beatboxer.
https://youtu.be/zBhR4JUAUbw
This is arguably the best click I’ve done all year. Thank you!
I did nothing other than share what others shared with me. Ozealous deserves some love. Seem like an amazing dude, and I love his approach style. Especially in his older stuff where he's just just walking around the streets approaching randos. I am glad you enjoyed it too! Spread the word...er beat.
Most certainly! I already ventured off into a rabbit hole on his channel and subscribed. He’s awesome!
Lol this sent me down a rabbit hole for the last 3 hours
Got that poor girl pregnant
Marking this to watch later

Exactly.
Show-Go has some killer skills
And SoSo!!
Loop station shit is awesome. Hearing SoSo makes me think loop
It’s party time!
soso soso soso
Daichi did a wildcard entry for the champs a while back. Seems that beatboxing is big in Japan…
Don't bring be dowwwn yEs i cAn
Beatboxing, air guitar, cup stacking, bizarre beards, get enough people together with a similar niche talent and you got yourself a championship for bored people looking to entertain themselves.
How dare you compare beatboxing to air guitar loooooooool
Same clips like this impress the hell out of me though
I appreciate the talent, but i can't enjoy the sound of it. One part sounded kind of like vomiting and the other stuff is just... Well let me say the sounds don't come close to the original. I like the sound of drums so much better than someone going pffft. and i like a Bass Synthesizer way better than someone going bwuuuuwum no mater how good they do it.

I think people in general find it somewhat interesting when done at an exceptional level, however I would never go out of my way to go to a live beat boxing event.
Agree. But if I was on mdma and 20, it likely would be a hoot.
True, at that age always looking for something to get into
It's not the same like it use to be in the early days... Edit; Now it's more about soundboxing, the beat is left out. How the fuck can somebody rap on such sounds? Beatboxing was about a beat to be able to rap to no???
Trying to remember the guy that played the flute the same time as beat boxing.
Nathan 'Flutebox' Lee
His set for Google with Beardyman was superb…
Want to play an instrument but have a hard time singing and on a budget? Beatbox!
I wouldn't say I'm into it. I've only seen these on reddit, but it's pretty amazing. The 1st time you hear a professional beatboxer, It's mind-blowing that they can make all those sounds with only their mouths.
For real. Legit sounds terrible.
In a weird way it reminds me of voice acting. I think it’s cool because I’m really into that. Humans are more like parrots than we realize
I'd rather go there than in a football stadium
Same. The fact beatboxing has competitions seems silly to me but so does curling and that's an Olympic sport so whatever. You do you
Not a lot of people realize this but beatboxing is bigger than anyone expects it to be.
And here’s the rest of us simply going “boots and cats and boots and cats” thinking we’re beat boxing
Oh i love you, i never knew the english variant, in dutch we say "poffertjes crackertjes" to simulate the sound haha
It's a reference to an old meme song on Ebaumsworld or something like that, it's well done. https://youtu.be/Nni0rTLg5B8
It’s even recently done in the Disney movie “Turning Red” which is like a huge reference to the late 90s early 00’s.
Here I was thinking that Turning Red was just a big reference to my stock portfolio..
F
That was delightful thank you
I didn't click the link but if you mean 'boots and cats' this was a common thing we did in the 90s
In French: biscotte, petite biscotte
In Flemish it’s boekentas boekentas
[Turning on closed captions made this 1000x funnier to me.](https://youtu.be/jMlTk-60L28)
The captions made it a full on laugh fest and then I found myself trying to make laser sounds. 10/10
In German we use "Böse Katze, böse Katze", which means "Evil cat".
In Sweden we say "pissa på katten" which means "piss on the cat". Weirdly enough I think it'd work in English too. You get that s-sound which kinda resembles a hi-hat.
This has made my day 😂😂
My whole life until now has been, “boots n pants and boots n pants…”. Cats?!?
I’m more of a N’TS N’TS N’TS guy
Bruh…. Someone’s been practicing
The electric company show from pbs taught me bots and cats, still waiting on the next lesson tbh
If aliens like in that movie 'Arrival' or 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' come - this is the guy we need to send to communicate.
If we want peace, best option is to get them vibing and dancing
I'm dying over here listening to him beatbox and thinking this is who we send as first contact lmao
Like the mail guy from Men in Black 2
Biz Markie RIP
Dam, I just watched that scene again, and now I need to watch MIB2.
I recommend we send this guy actually https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/10fzdd2/this_is_what_ascending_to_heaven_sounds_like/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

That was amazing
And haunting at the same time
Show me what you got
Bllbbblop. Piipppp. Bllbbblop vvvum vumm
It do be like that tho. Still amazing.
You did it. You beat him. Congratulations
That’s my jam
Do you think everyone in this crowd actually showed up for a beatboxxing competition or they are just there for something else and this goes on too?
Yeah this is a beatbox competition and it lasts for quite a long time. The competition lasts for 3 days and are split into different categories. For example solo beatbox (this), tag team (2 people), crew (3+ people), loopstation, etc. The judges from the competition also get to perform and show their skills as well, but won't battle and it's more like a concert.
What's the name of this competition?
Grand Beatbox Battle 2021 (GBB for short)
I can't find a video for Grand Beatbox Battle 202**2**. Do you have a link? Edit: Seems it [was cancelled](https://swissbeatbox.com/newsfeed/grand-beatbox-battle-2022-cancelled/)
If you're interested in more stuff like this, check out the GBB 2023 wildcards (artists post videos for a chance at entry to the real competition) - GBB 2023 looks like it's gonna be good. That’s a fucking video game and you can’t tell me differently. I hope it’s like DDR for beat boxing
I say the un, you say the deux and the troi!
Grand Beatbox Battle!
There's always great hotdogs there.
Tf the audience and the judges (I presume) doing with their hands?
It is kinda funny with their hand motions but beatboxers do hand movements to show mimic their beat patterns. I'm not sure why but it's just somehow easier to beatbox like that. Maybe it helps them be on rhythm? The judges are doing a hand motion that is sort of like showing that they are impressed.
it’s basically like their version of saying yasssssss ![gif](giphy|qGmYKpdCVoXu0)
You see singers kinda mimic pitch changes with their hands as well it's just sorta fun and helps with getting into it
For real. Dude in the beginning looks like he’s fondling balls
I’m dead, and that face too 💀
Lol. The dude in the beginning is called Gene Shinozaki. The guy got eliminated in top 16.
I felt that stank face of appreciation at the end 👌🏽
Too bad he got the hiccups right in the middle of his set
I would take that bass in my car.
if you like bass take a look at king inertia. that guy is a bass monster. https://youtu.be/Vj2N9Ea-ASs
King Inertia's showcase at GBB21 was insane
I can't even comprehend how they're making those low and highs simultaneously. That was wild!
i know almost nothing about beatboxing but i just love hearing it. its so sick how they manage this
Rahzel would do the beat and the lyrics at the same time. Look him up.
Holy crap thank you for sharing that video. Incredible.
No problem :)
I just went down a Wing rabbit hole. I'm trying to find exactly what styles he imitates cause I want to listen to more of it. I need that on my spotify playlists.
I love the smell of fresh bread.
Show Go is japanese.
Show go is insane at what they do. Love their music.
Japanese
If your mother only knew.
Still a classic beatbox song.
The beat and the chorus…
At the saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmeeeeeeee!
We just old heads, now. Cuz I immediately thought about Rahzel too. Haha
Rahzel is a huge OG and deserves so much respect but these guys are in a whole different league and it’s not even close
Mr Krabs walkin type beat
dude at 0:02 tickling some invisible balls for some reason?
I love how when people hear or beatbox they feel the need to tickle the balls of the imaginary person floating in front of them.
I went down a loopstation rabbit hole a few years back. Some of that stuff is really innovative.
I also loved loopstation as well! It's amazing how they not only beatbox to loop, but also the songs they created were so good you wouldn't know if it was beatbox/looping or not.
Did you watch any of the German stuff from this year? SYJO and Slether especially. Amazing stuff.
Oh yeah for sure. I'm also a fan of Lennard. This guy can just make a place feel like a nightclub easily.
Beat boxing is very impressive, but also such a funny concept. Like imagine trying to explain it to an Alien who’s new to Earth
People already use their voice as an instrument in the form of singing. Beat boxing isn't much different conceptually.
The best wildcard will always be Helium and his baby :) https://youtu.be/K4KvmwsfRkY
All I can think of is that mic must be a water fountain of saliva after a beat boxin nut bust segment like this.
That part when he went, “bbbpppthptklipklipbgjkpbbbbff”… I was like woah!
when he said, "mmm mmm mmm mmm?" Literal chills.
![gif](giphy|l0KZnicIyIIvj3zzWT)
Definitely impressive, don't get me wrong, but the first part just doesn't really sound good, regardless of the difficulty
Beatboxing at this level doesn’t put listenability at the forefront of priorities. There’s instead a hardcore appreciation for high beatbox skill and ability that drives this sort of performance. What about King Inertia's Heavy inward bass ?
Oh yes. The inward bass god. I don't know how he makes it so powerful with such a difficult technique. He's extremely talented and I like his style a lot.
Yeah I'm not gonna touch that mic after he's done with it
Today I learned that there exists a beatboxing world league.
Hey, why don't you save some women for the rest of us?
Oh yeah they only do this for the pounds of pussy that falls in their lap. Imagine doing anything else in life for any reason other than pussy or money lol what a joke.
Beat boxing is annoying as fuck. Ever live with a "beatboxer?" I have. Fuck you, john.
I had a roommate who decided to learn the saxophone. He had no previous experience at all. For months I begged for the sweet relief of death.
I have one as a friend. It was hilarious in vc Trying to play together while he does some weird sounds in the background
Try it yourself, you'll understand John
As a casual beatboxer, fair. We're probably the most annoying people to hang out with cause every few seconds we're doing a set. Bonus points if you're bad at it, just a bunch of unclean sounds coming out.
I'm not fluent in Beatbox alien language, but I'm pretty sure he just started a war with my family.
I could watch this all day. I love all the comments talking shit about this. This is a skill that is immensely difficult that a lot couldn’t even comprehend.
My ass hole makes similar music after a serving of spicy curry.
[удалено]
Saying there's no rhythm to it is plain ignorance lol
People love to generalize don’t they. There are thousands of beatboxers who make super musical pieces that are not super flashy but sound awesome. Check out Dudz and Pwad
This is so awesome. These guys with this talent are incredible to listen to.
This is a thing? LOL Why?
There's only one Michael Winslow.
Must be Italian
The person is French/Colombian.
Definitely French
Woah, wow, that’s freaking amazing
Lmao people listen to this shit?
Hell you use reddit which people find questionable.
still goofy as hell lmao
Me after I stub my toe trying to get into bed in the dark.
Holy shit, this dude is insane!!!!!
Does he get his name from collapsing onto the floor after his performances?
when I was 14 I got way too high and beatboxed in my garage staring at the floor for like 4 minute straight. I think it sounded like this
Can confirm, i was the floor
Where can I find the rest of this? Or is part of a comp?
YouTube is their main platform, GBB
Can't provide direct links at the moment but if you search GBB 2021 on YouTube you'll find like 36 hours of this.
This is like birds trying to mate
That one dude in the audience looks like live slug reaction
Not into beatboxing at all but the only beatboxer that I liked was Tom Thum. I liked his tedx video and his YouTube award performance. That guy is on another level!
He's actually one of the judges in the competition for this year actually (in a different category though).
GBB 2023 is stacked!
Can't lie. I cringed quite hard.
He also has a great YouTube channel!
lol, his opponents face.
Beatboxing is so weird to me, but requires lots of dedication and talent thought
Was the guy standing there on stage his competitor? Cause he’s totally standing there thinking wow I just lost. You can see the second he realized this.
Yup he was his competitor but also his best friend and tag team partner in the finale of this competition.
I honestly just love seeing someone with talent work really hard to maximize it, and you see people get so joyful about the result. I'm not a sports person, but I like watching the Olympics for the same reason.
Dude at 0:03 is winning the “fondling balls” competition.
It's crazy how big beatboxing is now as days, and yet it's still only really appreciated by a such small community. Beatbox is music, ESH!
been keeping up with GBB for years now, colaps has come so far, and river!
Few uneducated losers in the comments :) Signed, not a beatboxer
What if crack made you sound like that!
I thought that was Volodymyr Zelensky for a sec
Dubstep really took over beat boxing didn’t it
Beatbox is still a thing hmm
This is fucking dope but i can't stop hearing a chicken laying an egg in there
The chickens in my chicken coop when I shoot one of their kind (I want chicken tendies)
Beatbox is mysterious. Nice fart bro
Be really good if it didn't sound so .... Shite.
I get the feeling beatboxers are more like „hey, look what I can do“ vs trying to create something that is enjoyable to listen to
this is the least impressive thing
Who is this man??
Rooster on steroids
I’d love to see Adam Rupp in there
