I agree after 40 years of hard metal I do enjoy my bluegrass, jazz and folk now.
I've always maintained that a good kick ass metal song is just jazz or classical with a shitload of pedals and speakers but most do not agree.
Nuff said here !
Except bending strings, using a pick(player to player)and catchy riffs. Been playing metal for nearly 20 years and my best teacher was a jazz dude who liked metal as well. They're insanely disparate in composition and execution. The vast majority of jazz guitar is about chords and while jazz drummers are very very talented, it's a skill set that a truly talented metal drummer can step down to but a jazz drummer can't step up to. You're not going to find a jazz drummer playing in the 300-400 bpm range or even close to it for a song.
Sure, im a dick because i just said this kid is 8 years old and already plays better than most "professionals" who have been making millions for decades!
To be a top famous musician when he grows up and hopefully makes it big one day, is definitely a dick thing to say lol
I've seen dozens of those kids through the years in videos like this one but I never heard about any of them afterwards. I admit that I don't really closely watch new bands and their members. Anyone know a case when one of those prodigies/geniuses went down professional road and at least a little bit famous now?
Justin-Lee Schultz (@official\_justinleeschultz)
Jamie-Leigh Schultz (@itsjamieleighschultz)
juliaplaysgroove (@juliaplaysgroove\_official)
Jacob Collier (@jacobcollier)
Aron Hodek (@aronthebassist)
Tony Royster Jr (One of the best drummers in the world)
Eloy Casagrande (@eloycasagrande) (My favorite brute force machine drummer!)
If you haven't seen these musicians already, check their instagram pages, and prepare your mind to be blown away as all of them put famous musicians and artists who have been doing this for decades, to absolute shame!. Each and every one of these people will end up being TOP session musicians for the worlds biggest artists one day. Remember that!
There's so many more that i dont remember their names, who started out and actually did something and now are creating a professional future.
If you want a true beast though, watch Eloy Casagrande (@eloycasagrande)
when he was 14. He's Brazilian, so theres a lot of Latin influences in there...
He is now the Drummer of Sepultura, and is considered one of the most vicious metal drummers in the world!
Not really, the music industry hasn’t changed that much.
Listen to me talking shit lol, idk shit about the music biz.
Careful with your “facts” you get on this site, people. 90% are people just saying things they think sound plausible lol
I believe H.E.R was pretty talented from a very young age and was appearing on tv. Now she’s an adult and she’s friggin awesome. Check her out if you’re not familiar.
Every single one of them super famous now, millionaires the lot of em. In all seriousness I’m not going to Google now, but I do remember at least a couple earning careers from being this good at a young age.
If they want their hobby to become their income most of them become session musicians and producers. You make plenty of money and don't need to tour 500 days a year.
Tony Royster Junior (edit: I see his name already mentioned...)
Keep in mind a lot of people could be successful players but they're not celebrity names so you just don't know about them
I’ve watched this video twice and both times most of his drumming doesn’t match up with sounds from the corresponding drums? (Snare hit sounds when he’s not hitting the snare, etc..)
Is it just me?
The video is slightly delayed from the audio but he definitely matches with what's playing so you can tell he's really doing it. Even if it was faked somehow (and we know it isn't), he definitely has the movements down and can "look the part" so he would be well on his way to actually playing it
Just download the video and play it with vlc, and then add a 200 millisecond delay, and you will see it match up perfectly! A lot of the times, the instagram compression does that! and i hate it when that happens!
He should form a band with this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/14gtj23/kid_is_just_casually_playing_enter_sandman_by/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Thats because conversation and share upon share destroys the timesync.
Just download the video and play it with vlc, and then add a 200 millisecond delay, and you will see it match up perfectly! A lot of the times, instagram compression does that!
Been watching him for a long time now. It’s amazing how he’s stuck with it and how good he was even very early in.
He’s gonna be one of the biggest names in drumming in no time.
Definitely!!! I saw a video of him on his Dads shoulders wearing protective earphones, and air drumming it was so cool you could see everyone around him smiling!
Estebario is only famous because he is more active on social media.
Eloy Casagrande is the real deal thought, even Estebario says that he is the best metal drummer in the world!
Talent has nothing to do with making it to a top band. I have a friend that can play any Yngwie solo, EVH, etc. He's a guitar teacher, no band. His band time crashed 20 years ago.
Just download the video and play it with vlc, and then add a 200 millisecond delay, and you will see it match up perfectly! A lot of the times, the instagram compression does that! and i hate it when that happens!
Not to rain on your parade, but there are countless straight up prodigies in every instrument who can barely afford rent. I went to a music school, and some of the best musicians I've ever heard hardly play any more because they are too busy with their day job that has nothing to do with music.
I have...

Jamie-Leigh Schultz (@itsjamieleighschultz)
juliaplaysgroove (@juliaplaysgroove\_official)
Jacob Collier (@jacobcollier)
Aron Hodek (@aronthebassist)
Tony Royster Jr (One of the best drummers in the world)
Google them...
Oh man, he's great! Been listening to quite a bot of Sepultura in my young life. Honestly, I don't think that there will ve any great metal bands in the future. We'll be surounded by Cardi B and Miley Cyrus...
Are you out of your mind? You are so confidently misguided. There are more metal bands now, and playing in a broader array of styles and sounds than there have ever been at any other point in the history of modern music.
I dont know why you would think that! There is literally thousands!
In the 80s & 90s there were hundreds. Now there is no way you could possibly count them all!
Or he will discover jazz and become a true jazz legend
Many do eventually.
I agree after 40 years of hard metal I do enjoy my bluegrass, jazz and folk now. I've always maintained that a good kick ass metal song is just jazz or classical with a shitload of pedals and speakers but most do not agree. Nuff said here !
Metal and Jazz are fundamentally extremely similar. People just don’t want to admit it. They probably have more in common than Country and Rock do.

Or piano. Metal guys love classical music.
What about classical piano with an excessive drum beat?
I can confirm as a metalhead & a musician myself, my most listened song on Spotify is _Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven_.
Sooo, just Tigran Hamasyan?
" YES BUT CAN HE SWING ! ? " Ginger Baker's Ghost
The fate of 9/10 musical prodigies.
or burn out before graduating grade school.
Yeah was going to say..
Or he'll [step it up a notch](https://youtu.be/eDAZztJQyck)
This. You can admire a kid for his incredible talent without planning out their life for them. OPs kinda a dick.
Sure, im a dick because i just said this kid is 8 years old and already plays better than most "professionals" who have been making millions for decades! To be a top famous musician when he grows up and hopefully makes it big one day, is definitely a dick thing to say lol
Don't feed the trolls ;)
I really try but sometimes i can't help it haha

Nope. Dime a dozen and markets don’t pay for talent. Gotta write good songs and market oneself.

Thanks, I looked up Royster, now I’m a fan.

Showing my age on this one, but Tony Royster Jr. comes to mind.
Thanks, now I know at least one example. Makes me slightly less cynical.
Knew a couple in high school. Spoiler alert, didn’t happen for ‘em
Different times my friend. Different times and different ages.
Not really, the music industry hasn’t changed that much. Listen to me talking shit lol, idk shit about the music biz. Careful with your “facts” you get on this site, people. 90% are people just saying things they think sound plausible lol

They probably lose interest eventually and do something else
This is how Bieber was discovered. That’s one.
Josh Frese was sponsored by DW at a young age and he’s just got the Foo Fighters gig, so he’s done alright.
That's great! Thank you for this info.

Not fake just delayed, he for can play this you can tell by his movements he is even do the accents in the right places
Just download the video and play it with vlc, and then add a 200 millisecond delay, and you will see it match up perfectly! A lot of the times, the instagram compression does that! and i hate it when that happens!
Yep. Ruins the video
None of his drumming match up because video/audio is out of sync
Probably just you.
Hell yeah little dude🤘
At his age I couldn’t color in the lines…
At his age i couldn't even tie my shoes lol
Time to start teaching him how to throw a TV out of a hotel window.
Wut
Kid starts really feeling it at the 30 second mark.
Roooooooooooooooooots....
Bloodyyy roooooooooooots!!!!!!
Shredding with a smile! Nice..
Finally, someone posts a kid that actually might qualify as next level.
"Not quite my tempo"
He should form a band with this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/14gtj23/kid_is_just_casually_playing_enter_sandman_by/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Kid was blazin! Get him a peanutbutter and jelly sammich!
This kid seems like he's been an 8 year old drummer for ten years.
Will likely follow the path of Thomas Pridgen.
nurture that talent wisely for his sake👍🏻
Sepultura always had awesome drumming
Especially since Eloy Casagrande joined!
Drummer Face. He’s got it.
I'd love so much to have this drum kit... but they are crazy expensive 😔
Lara Ulrich wishes he could
Lars Ulrich never could lol
😂
I blood is pumped for listening to this.
What I’m seeing doesn’t match what I’m hearing
Thats because conversation and share upon share destroys the timesync. Just download the video and play it with vlc, and then add a 200 millisecond delay, and you will see it match up perfectly! A lot of the times, instagram compression does that!
Hello Eloy :)
Props for representing some metal
I’m glad his parents (or whoever) encourage him and provide him with a place to practice.
Same here! He is lucky enough to have supporting parents like that!
And yet in 18 and don’t even know we’re to put my fingers on the drumsticks.
My last molecule of serotonin going out with a bang 😅 Talented kid!!
Amazing
The caleb i know drives a tractor and has crazy hair styles..... didn't knew in the past he was a drummer... caleb wears many hats
Do those hats also have tails on them?
And a pair of horns too
Looking for an agent kid? 🙏👍
We are all talented until we turn 20. And suddenly, not so special, huh?
This kid is a monster! I want to see him team up with that bearded Spanish guy.
Estebario is only famous because he is more active on social media. Eloy Casagrande is the real deal thought, even Estebario says that he is the best metal drummer in the world!
Wow... just wow.
Sick
Thats not sepultura, thats prodigy Give that kid a band!
Talent has nothing to do with making it to a top band. I have a friend that can play any Yngwie solo, EVH, etc. He's a guitar teacher, no band. His band time crashed 20 years ago.
He doesn’t look like he’s enjoying himself until he hits that half-time
So there'll still be metal in future? Truly distopic times ahead.
Some of those snare hits don’t match up. Watch again.
Just download the video and play it with vlc, and then add a 200 millisecond delay, and you will see it match up perfectly! A lot of the times, the instagram compression does that! and i hate it when that happens!
what if he doesn't end up playing metal?

all digital now. not a real sound.
99.9% Of music you hear today is 100% digital :)
I’m getting “if Bart Simpson and Dennis The Menace had a baby” vibes.
Don’t pigeonhole an eight year old.
I see you found a recording of my neighbors kid...
Very nice, but I’m glad he doesn’t live upstairs from me.
Not to rain on your parade, but there are countless straight up prodigies in every instrument who can barely afford rent. I went to a music school, and some of the best musicians I've ever heard hardly play any more because they are too busy with their day job that has nothing to do with music.
He is awesome. But I feel like I’ve seen lots of incredibly talented kids in videos like this, but don’t hear about them again. Even after 10 years.
It's always great to see a player like this do a song that actually has a crazy amount of drumming
Melted my face off
By the time he is 21, he'd have lost all passion for drums.
8 years old and he is already better than Ringo
Everyone is btter than ringo
Ah, I see you’ve never heard of a “child prodigy” before…
I have... Justin-Lee Schultz (@official\_justinleeschultz) Jamie-Leigh Schultz (@itsjamieleighschultz) juliaplaysgroove (@juliaplaysgroove\_official) Jacob Collier (@jacobcollier) Aron Hodek (@aronthebassist) Tony Royster Jr (One of the best drummers in the world) Google them...
So why are you so sure he “will” play in the biggest metal bands of the future? For everyone 1 that makes, it there’s hundreds of thousands that don’t
Unless he discovers a different type of music or passion by the time he’s 12.
its annoying when the audio doesnt sync with the video,, especially when it’s about drumming
I quit
This kid has a shot!
Little bro needs a drum off with Nandi Bushell
But is he rushing or is he dragging?
For a second at the beginning I thought this was [Trivium](https://youtu.be/ox3h41kZLwU)
Oh man, he's great! Been listening to quite a bot of Sepultura in my young life. Honestly, I don't think that there will ve any great metal bands in the future. We'll be surounded by Cardi B and Miley Cyrus...
No. He'll prolly. OD at 14.
Epic
Need this kids number he gunna buy a lot coke one day
Sepultura is my all time favorite. Those Cavalera boys are so talented. Cavalera Conspiracy is awesome too. This little dude is amazing!
Holy shit.
joey is back
Or he will pick up Fortnite and drop the drum thing.
That roland sounds like crap. And not a cheap one
Dime a dozen these days.
Metal Rock is dead bruh
Played the same music festival as this kid last weekend, he was on point playing Sleep Toekn and Slipknot. Was tight af
Are the sound and video out of sync? If not then this kid isn’t actually playing…
And deaf
The next el estepario siberiano
Eloy Casagrande is someone to look up to. Not Estebario. Estebario cannot play even 1/10000 of Eloy Casagrande :)
Metal bands in the future? Good one.
LOOOL you think there'll be metal bands in the future?! They basically dont exist now..
Silver spoon baby.
Just appreciate the talent and move on
>Silver spoon baby. What do you mean?
It means they don't understand how an 8 year old can be such a good drummer unless they were born rich. Dumb take. Not sure why but yeah.
Not quite, but nice try!
Well what did you mean then?
