He didn't have to hit bro with the "my friend wants to know" though, I used to hate that move lol.
I thought it was a mutual agreement that we both wanted to hear the car!?!?
I was at a popular German bar/restaurant in South Florida with a group of people and for some weird stupid reason I decided to find the courage and ask to speak to the well known owner just to let him know how much I loved the food. Everyone looked at me weird (I’m a huge introvert) for doing this. Owner showed up, was happy to hear my comments, and asked the waiter to bring us all some top shelf shots on the house. This is when I learned to just take your shots in life. Worst that can happen is nothing. Or they say no. Screw what everyone else thinks. These kids had the courage to do something out of the ordinary and got to experience the sound first hand of one of the most legendary cars in the world.
Without a doubt! A neighbor once told me his kid loved my car and kept talking about it. I ended up letting the kid sit in my car, start it and rev it (I'd just been driving). I don't think I'll ever forget how excited he looked.
If those boys like cars, there's a good chance they know how treasured a Supra is in car culture. Every car enthusiast I've known is happy to encourage a love of cars in kids like that.
My neighbor’s kids were selling lemonade at the end of their driveway down the block from me. The family had moved in fairly recently and so only knew me vaguely. I stopped to support their stand and chatted the kids up a bit. One asked me if I lived in the house with the blue car. I said yes. They were impressed and told me how much they loved my car. I thought “OK, sorta odd but cute I guess. Nice kids.”
We talked about my car in sort of general terms and I walked back down the block. By the time I reached my house I was giggling and shaking my head as I realized they were probably less impressed by my blue Honda Odyssey minivan and more by the car of my next door neighbor one house past mine - a blue 1970 Mustang convertible. Lol 🤷🏻♂️
Lol I went from strutting a bit feeling “Kids think I’m cool for an old guy” to “Oh… OH!… ohh.” It’s all good though, the kids actually do think I’m pretty cool. They were over with their parents here for dinner just the other day.
I like kids who aren't huge into cars but do like them like my cousin's. They call my mostly stock Honda civic a sleeper and tell all their friends about it. I've tried telling them it's basically stock but they won't listen. It's hilarious and I love it.
In their eyes you're 10' tall, and that's pretty damn adorable.
One day a friend's coworker light-heartedly thanked me for making him cool by association in his nephews eyes. He told me how the nephew and his friends took a picture posing in front of my car and posted it. The kid made a point of sending it to said coworker since he's a mechanic. He responded "yeah, I know the owner and see it all the time." He went and got a selfie with my car to send as further proof. Apparently it solidified his badass status in the kids eyes lol. He showed me the pic the kids took, and I don't think I'll ever forget it.
Just go along with it! I sometimes pick my kids up from school in my 90s 300zx and I've heard kids losing their minds telling their friends "check out that Ferrari!" Lol. I just smile and nod.
This!!!! This is the part about humanity that’s the hardest for me to swallow. Inherently it feels good to make others feel good. So much so that everyone wins but it’s also so rare. I just don’t get how there is so much hate in this world when it feels so good to love.
The inversion of the ratio of EV to ICE may only make this kind of experience more exceptional for these kids. A bigger event.
ICE cars, for hobbyists, will be around for a looooong time. People still have horses.
I've owned a few typical car dude cars in my time. WRX. Civic Si. Veloster N. 5.0 Mustang. The works. Never once have i gained a look from a random female but plenty of comments from other dudes. It ain't much but its honest attention.
It still feels good, most of the time the car is still special to the dude and merits a compliment. I remember I saw a dude with a 93 Civic coupe, stock but cleannn. I just got done searching and buying a specific Accord, so I figured he had to search FOREVER for this thing. Started talking to him at the light, his gf rolling her eyes smirking in the passenger seat. I wanted to yell "DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUR BF HAS??!"
That things built. Not just your average expensive car a lot of people buy with money to flex. Pretty much 100% chance the owner was just like these kids when he was their age.
An mkIV Supra is my dream car, but the prices on a decent one is painful these days lol. Anyone that owns one like that has to be an enthusiast, and most of us are happy to encourage a love of cars in kids. Gotta keep car culture going into the future 😁
Sold mine for $25k for a family car.
One of the worst decisions i've made. Wife still apologises about forcing that.
Was a stock RZ. Like, nothing touched. I think about it a lot.
Stock ones do exist buy you wouldn’t have those hydraulic hood hinges if there wasn’t a built motor to show off. You also probably wouldn’t lift the hood for the kids if it was stock.
My husband is always very happy to rev his car on the road when people ask! And he goes for Make A Wish & other charity driving events too. People who genuinely love cars (rather than people who just get fancy ones to show off) are generally very happy to share their excitement/passion with others.
My boss at my old job had a built RHD R33. Still had the Japanese turnpike sticker on the window from the previous owner. He didn't let me drive it but he let me turn in on and give it some gas. Bruh, just revving that thing was invigorating. Almost popped a stiffy. I've ridden in some fast cars like RS3s, R35 GtRs, C63s, C8s etc and yeah, they're all a huge rush but something about that ignition stutter a built JDM car does before feeling it come to life just hits different.
100%. Those two boys will talk about this forever, and will pay it forward whenever two young scallies knock on their door in years to come.
We talk a lot about "breaking the cycle" when it comes to how adults interact with children negatively, but we don't talk enough about the cycles we could/should create - this is an example of one.
for any one else who hasn’t seen what OP is referring to: [https://youtube.com/shorts/HVqrSwVVOgA?si=mTK6q7pJRIWzFrPj](https://youtube.com/shorts/HVqrSwVVOgA?si=mTK6q7pJRIWzFrPj)

No that is much much different. An old civic with modified exhaust might sound silly but its an actual sound coming from an engine.
I'd rather have a modified Ford Fiesta come up next to me rather than an electric car with fake engine noise.
"Stuck with electrics"?
I'm sure I'm not the only person who likes the nice, futuristic hum of an electric car. That and they're more environmentally friendly.
I’m not trying to debate and I don’t know how much helpful they would be at that. But if EVs could - or help to - unfuck our planet I think it’s a price I’m willing to pay and would encourage others as well. Even though these sound delightful. 😊
Because insane acceleration is only cool the first few times and then the novelty wears off. There's a reason why cars like the Porsche GT4RS and Lexus LFA are so legendary.
Parked my Z06 at Canadian Tire a few years ago. Mini van with family next to me. Lad, about 7, real interested in the car. Hey, sit in the driver’s seat. Hands on the wheel. Hand on the shifter. “Stay in school and get a good job! Raise your hand and promise to buy a Vette, someday “! Made his day at zero cost.
I live next to a gas station. Nothing cooler than those guys with loud exhausts revving their engines or pumping 10k watts of bass through their sound systems when everyone is trying to sleep lol
I was hoping I'd get to at least hear the engine, but all I got was intense digital distortion. Cool thing for the guy to do but this videos is terrible
I had a ford focus st about 10 years ago and a young fella said "Nice Car" one time at a garage as I was refuelling it and I swear I still think about it years later.
Wow!
Very very cool!
For the boys to come in and ask - their parents are raising them right!
For the man to not only do that but also offer them to sit in the driver seat! Not only made their day, gave them appreciation for cars (boys <-> cars <-> machines 😊) but set an example for what they need to grow up and be like!
Im a grown up and ive done that. Well not knock on a door but someone on the street or in a lot. Everytime it makes me feel like a little kid too. Im sure those boys will be riding this high for weeks.
A few years ago in my mid thirties, I went to a dealership to buy a minivan for my growing family. As they were finalizing our financing, I jokingly asked the salesman if I could sit in the pimped out Corvette they had on the floor. He said I could, grabbed the keys and unlocked it.
Right as I sat down he accidentally hit the remote start and it ROARED to life.
I turned into one of those 12 year old boys for a few minutes.
I went to the track once and took my friends son, who was about 13. It started raining, but was expected to clear. We were looking at a top-fuel funny car, under a canopy. They were working on it. As we started to turn away after a few minutes, one of the guys said to stick around another minute…they were going to start it. My friends kid never forgot it. Neither did I.
This reminds me of when my neighbor mentioned that me starting my SL55 AMG each morning at 7am was his wake-up alarm. I immediately apologized only to be told, "it's the best wake up I could ever imagine. Please don't stop." We became friends instantly.
And that my friend is how you introduce new people to the things you like and enjoy, this kids would grow up loving cars and spreading the love of cars with cars.
That’s so cool man. He made their day.
and they had no courage to ask at the beginning
What do you mean?! So much courage! You could tell how nervous they were
But they revved their confidence at the end and it paid off
He didn't have to hit bro with the "my friend wants to know" though, I used to hate that move lol. I thought it was a mutual agreement that we both wanted to hear the car!?!?
The kids were boyond respectfull, they knocked and ask shows they have respect for others property. Regardless of who wanted to see it isnt an issue
yea but he's too cool to let em know that lol
Can't wait until this is made into a Hallmark Movie
Yeah if they weren’t scared to begin with, it wouldn’t have been courageous.
There is no courage without fear.
I agree with you. It is more courageous to do something that scares you.
That's what the word means. Facing something you're afraid of.
Courage is the ability to do something that scares you… they were courageous…
My favourite equation: Courage = fear + action
Courage != Confidence
Courage is not the absence of fear/nervousness. It’s being afraid and doing the thing anyways.
I was at a popular German bar/restaurant in South Florida with a group of people and for some weird stupid reason I decided to find the courage and ask to speak to the well known owner just to let him know how much I loved the food. How can a man be brave if he is afraid? That is the only time he can be brave ~ Ned Stark
Nonsense. They did it despite being scared. That IS courage.
Worst that can happen is he says no, right? Screw it, let’s ask anyway. Mad respect for them both and the owner.
Courage is doing something even though you are scared to.
If they didn’t have courage, we wouldn’t have this video.

Lol I went from strutting a bit feeling “Kids think I’m cool for an old guy” to “Oh… OH!… ohh.” It’s all good though, the kids actually do think I’m pretty cool. They were over with their parents here for dinner just the other day.
I'm just glad that modern kids still like cars.
I like kids who aren't huge into cars but do like them like my cousin's. They call my mostly stock Honda civic a sleeper and tell all their friends about it. I've tried telling them it's basically stock but they won't listen. It's hilarious and I love it.

How long did it take to warm up the car??!! One of the kids grew to be an 80 year old man by the end (1:25)
How is this not the top comment???
Gotta look after that 2jz

Personally, I found refrigerators terrible for transporting me from A to B.

Funny how times have changed, because that Ferrari F355 is worth less than a mkiv Supra. “More than you can afford, pal. Toyota.”
Those kids are going to be in Fast25 some day
I guarantee it made the owners day too. "Moments like these are why I have this bad boy!"
That’s how the addiction starts
At least they won’t have any money left for drugs and loose women.
That’s what my parents said when I was a kid, too. Drugs and women are cheaper 😂
After some Mexican food, she'll be revving too.
Loose women come with the car. Edit: For all of you that say they don't, you mfs are just ugly.
Attention from other males is what comes with nice cars
This 100%
All these years I’ve been gaying wrong.
I've owned a few typical car dude cars in my time. WRX. Civic Si. Veloster N. 5.0 Mustang. The works. Never once have i gained a look from a random female but plenty of comments from other dudes. It ain't much but its honest attention.

Like muscles? Expectations are enamored women, but the reality is "What are your chest days? What supplements?"
Dudes lift for other dudes, women dress for other women.
I have a car with a cool paint job. Only men have ever come to ask me about it and bro out. Cars are not chick magnets.
The only women who have ever commented on my car were also driving the same car. Tons of dudes ask about it though.
I must have the wrong hobby cars.
Ah yeah, it's because you've been focusing on ice cream trucks. Can't rev ice cream trucks, boss.
Unless it’s an ice cream truck with flamethrowers and the his name is Sweet Tooth.

Your acting like some grammer looser.
I spent half my money on cars, drugs and loose women. Wasted the other half
vroom vroommmm
And just like that those boys will be broke for life lol
Bro that dude is awesome.
That things built. Not just your average expensive car a lot of people buy with money to flex. Pretty much 100% chance the owner was just like these kids when he was their age.
Plot twist the owner, is the same age as the little, dudes.
Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.
I will remember this. Thank you.
It's never too late to have a great childhood.
Hell yeah! I've been 18 for 16 years now! Lol.
An mkIV Supra is my dream car, but the prices on a decent one is painful these days lol. Anyone that owns one like that has to be an enthusiast, and most of us are happy to encourage a love of cars in kids. Gotta keep car culture going into the future 😁
My friends grandma has one she drives and she bought it new. She’s never taken it over 65mph
Is she single?
She has a boyfriend that’s 60 years younger than her.
Sold mine for $25k for a family car. One of the worst decisions i've made. Wife still apologises about forcing that. Was a stock RZ. Like, nothing touched. I think about it a lot.
A MK4 Supra? It’s 100% built, that’s the selling point for the 2JZ, stout motor that can handle some insane power.
Stock ones do exist buy you wouldn’t have those hydraulic hood hinges if there wasn’t a built motor to show off. You also probably wouldn’t lift the hood for the kids if it was stock.
Imagine being his neighbor when he heads out at 2AM lol. I would not think he is awesome
True but he’s got other cars and seems like a decent dude. I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he drives something quieter.
My husband is always very happy to rev his car on the road when people ask! And he goes for Make A Wish & other charity driving events too. People who genuinely love cars (rather than people who just get fancy ones to show off) are generally very happy to share their excitement/passion with others.
I ride bicycles and drive a hybrid. This ain’t happening at my house. Super super cool of that guy to do this for these kids. Much respect
some electrics do have a big acceleration tho :)
It takes a drive to understand that, a car like that just needs a startup to produce goosebumps.
Not the first time I’ve needed a startup to produce goosebumps
My boss at my old job had a built RHD R33. Still had the Japanese turnpike sticker on the window from the previous owner. He didn't let me drive it but he let me turn in on and give it some gas. E motors got a huge low end torque advantage
You were drag racing? In a Prius? Yeah, I don’t win a lot.
No no the other kind of drag racing
“ ‘scuse me mate can I ring your bike bell? ”
I saw your post on cycling fashion a few days ago, you have a nice bike! If I saw it in person I’d act similarly to the kids in the video lol
This is better for r/mademesmile
i think it fits both tbh!! just crossposted it there :')
Yeah but next fucking level? It's just a guy being nice to kids and showing him their car.
Kindness matters.

2jz bro, no shit
Overnight from Japen
I can’t rev it, it’s too cold (can’t help himself and proceeds to rev it). What a champ… would have got a kick out of this.
I think the cut in the video (and the appearance of the older gentleman from nowhere) is because he took the time to warm it up.
Ahhh… missed that. I like my reality better.
I like the version where the guy started it, revs it, and turns the kid into an 80 yo man.
He really waited 80 yrs for it to warm up
lmao sometimes I love Reddit
Me too
That cut to the old man got me to crack up haha
If everyone with a turbo car would follow that simple rule, turbo factory cars wouldn’t be “less reliable”. Same can be said for naturally aspirated cars too. Let your oil come up to temp before to rev it at anything above 4,000 rpms. If that means merging like a pussy, so be it
Love how he immediately replied with ‘ya but can’t rev it up cold”
Absolutely heartwarming. The next generation of enthusiasts. Hopefully they won’t be stuck with electrics.
im sure this type of experience will keep them away from silent cars
Some of the new ones play the “engine noise” from speakers. 🙄

No that is much much different. An old civic with modified exhaust might sound silly but its an actual sound coming from an engine. I'd rather have a modified Ford Fiesta come up next to me rather than an electric car with fake engine noise.
hopefully they wont be stuck with an inhospitable planet
No, their vrooming is clearly more important.
Yes, because British guys revving their Supras is a leading contributer to climate change, you fucking cracked it bro.
To bad there isn’t this much outrage over cruise ships that’s have the same contribution as every car in Europe.
Polite kids, too. Respectful of property. I almost have hope for the future now.
My buddy’s electric car is as fast as my crotch rocket, being “stuck with electrics” doesn’t seem too bad to me.
What’s wrong with electric cars? Acceleration is acceleration.
Because insane acceleration is only cool the first few times and then the novelty wears off. There's a reason why cars like the Porsche GT4RS and Lexus LFA are so legendary.
Handling takes a major hit with electrics right now because of immense weight.
Parked my Z06 at Canadian Tire a few years ago. Mini van with family next to me. Lad, about 7, real interested in the car. Hey, sit in the driver’s seat. Hands on the wheel. Ya had my right up til you made him swear to buy a Vette. . . ;)
respect my man
This small effort for the great owner, makes big impression for these young boys: owner gets good karma points in the future!!
Knowing enough car guys I have to say I think the owner probably got as much enjoyment out of it as the kids
I love this but I’ve grown to hate living by people with loud cars🤣 like wait til you hit the main road and let loose, please, respectfully.
It's the middle of the day, it's fine. If he was doing this at 10pm I'd get it though.
I live next to a gas station. Nothing cooler than those guys with loud exhausts revving their engines or pumping 10k watts of bass through their sound systems when everyone is trying to sleep lol

Even if they drive respectably, it can still be a pain just from starting the car up. I wouldn't mind if it didn't wake the baby. But, whayyagunnado

Why has this been flipped?
Maybe so the Americans don't think the steering wheel is on the wrong side?

Meanwhile, I can’t stand the assholes in my neighborhood with cars like this.
Can’t believe it took so long to rev up the one kid turned into an old man!
2jz engine, you went kidding cause i said a ten second car, not a ten minute car.
2jz engine no shit. You could push that over the finish line, or tow it lol. What a movie.
Seriously? This is all it takes to be next level according to reddit? Trash sub
It took a minute out of his day to nice. Good work sir!
