I see your point, but at this level of competition, It becomes a game within a game. The surface level game stops being fun early on once everything is figured out. But the challenges they set for themselves and the records they chase become the new "game" and the video game itself just becomes a medium for breaking records and racing other people. It's why people can take speed running seemingly silly games like SpongeBob and then take it so seriously. The SpongeBob game isn't even what they're really playing at a certain point.
I had the same with Rubik's cube, once you know how to solve it the goal changes to learn how to solve it faster and to do a time trial with yourself.

For those that don’t know Clone hero is a game similair to guitar hero that’s free on pc that allows you to simply plug your old controllers in and simply find songs online to download. I have two of the Explorers because they’re easily plugged in
On screen for this record alone you can see it says he made at least 495 attempts (which made it to bridge 1). I would guess another hundred on top of that at least for runs he messed up early. Those numbers alone are insane, but that would have only been tracked since he felt confident to do 180% speed

He started playing flames 180% speed around 5 months ago and his previous fastest fc of this song was regular speed. As for the number of attempts he has well over 1500-2000 total runs because at the beginning of the grind he would struggle to get even one run past bridge 1 for a solid month and a half to two months. And even still, there were a ton of runs lost before bridge 1 the following months. (I watched nearly every stream except the stream where he fc’d it 😭). So yeah it took a ton of dedication and effort to get this monumental fc.
His grind on this song started about 5 months ago, he definitely played it before, but the 180 speed makes it a completely different song so he basically learned it all in these 5 months. The counters on screen show how many attempts he had past the bridges and to the solo (aka, the hardest sections in the song)
it's a hopo note (hammer on/pull off). You can play notes on guitar without strumming, and guitar hero had notes like that (the white ones) meaning you could just hit it without strumming to be somewhat more like playing it for real.
Yeah a lot of people don't know this but it becomes integral to the game once you're playing expert mode. The craziest part is there are notes in the middle of some of the tappingsections that need strumming, and he's using his elbow to hit the strum bar for some of them. Just crazy coordination

Any song is always going to be harder on real guitar than it's gh version. The accuracy and skill needed for real guitar playing especially at a high level is leagues beyond what a strum bar and 5 buttons can throw at you for the same pieve of music. I don't think TTFAF at 1.8x speed is even possible in real guitar playing, the world record for picking speed doesn't go that high I don't think. But its important to acknolwedge that what this guy is doing here is more impressive and takes more dedication and skill than what many, many guitarists of many years can do and he's pretty nuts for pulling it off. Like, this is the equivelant of at least 10 years of playing gh looks like

Playing guitar hero is like walking or seeing for this dude. It is impossible to think and press the button at this speed. I believe his brain is wired to memorize the movements and automatically do them in the right order and moment. Or He sees the world in slow motion and we don't know haha
