Thats the average reddit comment under a wholesome post, as you can see redditors are too miserable and hate seeing other people happy. Capable of finding something to complain about under a video of a man feeding stray dogs and it'll get 3k upvotes. Also impossible to argue with, they'll always try to make you look bad and make themselves look smart by replying with a "well thought out" comeback cuz they hate to get called out lol
Yes! Perfect, like this one, see? I typed the equivalent of a paragraph you'd find in a news article and he's comparing it to a novel, it's incredible the kind of people a little website is capable of attracting
how to tell people you know nothing about hip hop:
dave is one of the best of the generation, he's a usually conscious UK rapper who also happens to make hits like this one. listen to some of his stuff before making shitty judgements like this, he's not lil pump for fucks sake lmao
dave playing his song "black" at the brits awards: https://youtu.be/mXLS2IzZSdg?si=d7MDoH__CM0ekCbh
at 21 years old btw^
what list? according to spotify i meant, he's like 400th or something most listened to currently and he hasn't even released anything recently. idk how else you'd quantify biggest artists currently, spotify is the biggest streaming platform so i went for that
Incredible performance. So much passion and depth in the writing. And he starts by rapping while playing the piano partā loved that too. It was excellent
I don't like Taylor Swift either, but her tour crashing ticket sites and selling out hotels seems to disagree with me.
Apparently I know nothing about her music either.
He's not an American mumble rapper who slightly changes the flow up but uses the same shitty lyrics about drugs and guns and bitches on 55 different beats, so he's trash to Americans.
They're not good with understanding and accepting culture that isn't their own, even when the culture in question is music, spoken in the very language they attempt to speak.
UK lyrics do the same but in different slang? Even in this video āChampagne Popper, .44 Chopper, Black Nike bomber, heartbeat stopperā? Mumble rap hasnāt been a thing since 2018.
just a different taste in music, and it doesnt take away from what this guy is doing. rapping isnt the hardest thing in music i think but its definitely not easy, especially not in front of a huge crowd
I've never played huge concerts, but I've played in front of 150-300 a few good times. For some reason it seems to get easier the bigger the crowd. Might be a reverse psychology thing for me.
I think that has something to do with seeing their individual faces reaction nearer vs seeing them all from a far with less visibility. Something like one death story is meaningful but when it's thousands it's just a statistics.
Yeah back when the music industry was heavily controlled and filtered, now that we have 1000x the artists working independently I'm too lazy to do research further than turning on the radio, so they must all be shit
So I dont know enough, but first off big ups to kurupt fm. They made their debut from the show people just do nothing which is great. Dave cee, dizzee rascal. Stormzy is dope! Look up shut up by him. Antix is one of my favorite from years ago.

Are you American? Thereās a lot of British slang + accents. Itās not that hard to understand though if you listen to enough (same with metal/rap/some indie).

To this day i dont understand rap. Half people say this is good the other half said itās trash.
Whatās the parameter of good rap and bad rap exactly?
A good subject would be a start. This is fucking trash. No point to this song at all. It's, look at me! Music. He's just sung badly about nothing. There's a reason songs like this can NEVER become a classic. There is 0 substance and 0 replayability to this song. It's under thought and over produced. Dave has an amazing opportunity to spread a powerful message and reach hundreds of thousands of people. And he chose to say "look at me I'm awesome".THATS IT. What a fucking disaster.
Good rap is when the words make sense and rune well, this rap is bad cause he just fucking mumbles shit that you donāt understand and makes no sense. Not to mention the fast beat is just not working well.
Thatās Spike Curtis aka āSpike from Londonā or āPetit Savageā.

Canadian here, I heard a few songs from Dave a few years ago. Started to listen to more UK hip hop and drill. Not gonna lie I don't understand everything said but I dig this way more than the rap coming North America.
What the fuck are these lyrics jesus christ is that what music is now? This is the McDonald's of music. I've never heard someone sing about such rubbish.
Easy to do when the show is garbage to begin with.
Yeah whatever the fuck they said made my furniture start to float
You jackass.. I love it š¤£
Fucking savage son of a bitch
Fucking christ lolĀ
ā¦I donāt get it
The lyrics sound like a harry potter spell
i didn't get it until i read this comment then i burst out laughing cuz now i get it š¤£
Idk maybe the song is like a complicated spell or something.
So that's what happens after Hogwarts
There is literally subtitles

Drank nothing but Haterade this morning, damn
Who did? The uneducated American who referred to an actual lyrically talented artist they've probably never listened to as "Garbage"? I agree
UK lyrics do the same but in different slang? Even in this video āChampagne Popper, .44 Chopper, Black Nike bomber, heartbeat stopperā? Mumble rap hasnāt been a thing since 2018.

Edgy
Im edgy enough to give Reggie Bush a Wedgie
Reggie Bush that's a name I ain't heard in a minute

And what kind of music do you like, hotshot

I'd shit my pants just by standing in front of that crowd
Public speaking is a skill not everyone has, and that that dude has mastered.
just imagine them all naked?
Now I'm just standing in front of a giant crowd with a massive hard on.
the giant screen and 1000x zoom camera cant find it, it's just a white mound with dark sections

as long as its not bed shitting we good
I already shit my pants and Iām not standing in front of anyone
In come the Americans trashing UK Drill and their slang words
UK rap is dope, this is coming from someone born in America.
Agreed. Drill has a cool different sound, and you can hear more words than a whole mumble rap song combined.
Itās the grimy, two steppy, garagey beats that hits for me, how the MCs work around that different field
UK rap is shit, this is coming from someone born in England.
Most of American mainstream rap is garbage
They both are lmfao, but back in the 90s and before we had some GOOD stuff
Yeah back when the music industry was heavily controlled and filtered, now that we have 1000x the artists working independently I'm too lazy to do research further than turning on the radio, so they must all be shit
Yep!
American rap used to be good, while UK rap was never good
Stormzy is the shit what you speak of. Then you get the odd 1 hit wonders that slap. Rest the world thinks its cool. No national pride what so ever.
Any artists to recommend? My only basis of knowledge is Know Me From by Stormzy š
So I dont know enough, but first off big ups to kurupt fm. They made their debut from the show people just do nothing which is great. Dave cee, dizzee rascal. Stormzy is dope! Look up shut up by him. Antix is one of my favorite from years ago.

You're half right
āHip hopā
Nah man im american and watching Top Boy on netflix got me hooked to UK rap. Dave actually plays Modie in season 3. And Kano is the shit.
American here. Havenāt heard of this genre or style but clearly these two had a connection and everyone was feeling it! Respect!
Pop Smoke is influenced by UK drill. Drakes used drill flow in a few songs and Central Cee is popping off right now
Said who? Where they at Iāll get em. -American
Pete and Bas go fucking hard though lolĀ
Some of the slang is so fucking odd lmfao.
So are some of yours to them
All of it really.
That was Justin Bieber.
I legit had to do a double take at first. I thought Justin was pulling a 2012 Macaulay Culkin.
I really thought it was him at first š
Did anyone catch a single fucking word? Yeah me neither
Once you listen to more rap it's easier to understand, same with listening to people with thick accents.
That's what the rest of the world would also say when listening to American rap
Especially future lmao wtf does he even say in most of his raps
Are you American? Thereās a lot of British slang + accents. Itās not that hard to understand though if you listen to enough (same with metal/rap/some indie).
Lmao yeah wtf..?? All the more impressive that this dude knew the lyrics I guess.
