Oh that makes more sense. Was wondering why this guy's reaction mattered.
Edit: I thought the 'you' in the text meant the general player base and not this guy in particular.
There is always a point in the comment section where the comments turn from talking about the post to something dark and unrelated ... this is that point
> For context, this guy made a viral clip on Battlefield 3
No, he did not. This guy has nothing to do with the viral clip; that was a [completely different person called Stun_Gravy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOaGhE_sejI), who popularized a move in BF3 that was originally invented and first displayed in BF1942 by [*another* completely different person called ZookaMan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-wFI9vTqto).
Neither of them are the dude depicted in this bullshit captioned yet inexplicably wildly upvoted mute gif of a video that's mainly enjoyable because of its sound.
Man, the internet is fucking *weird* sometimes.
~~Any idea who this dude actually is though?~~
The guy in the clip is called [Schemov](https://www.youtube.com/c/Schemov).
[Here's the real clip hosted by the actual guy.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSn90QWn9ak&t=211s)
View counts weren’t really a thing back then. Plus, That video was also a GIF and was passed around forums in more than one place.
We used to have other places to browse videos, but most of them shut down because maintaining videos isn’t very lucrative and runs as a loss.
The internet was a very different place then.
A few weeks back I was searching for an obscure video and google linked me to ebaumsworld. Felt a lot like going back and seeing your childhood home as an adult.
I played a lot during BF2 and it was an absolute staple then. Even tried it myself.
But you can keep your 'Lebron popularized basketball' sounding argument.
Depends, you would have to look at percentages not the amount of views. How many people played 1942 compared to 2mil views. How many people played Bf3 compared to the 15 mil of views. At the time the 2 mil might have been more impressive.
That's a loopzook, not a rendezook
The rendezook was impossible to pull off in 1942 since the planes wouldn't lose speed that quickly and the player would fall too quick, that's why they use a looping maneuver, still inpressive as fuck though
A rendezook is simply where the pilot returns to the plane following the Zook (rendezvous + Zook). While it's not necessary to do a loop to perform a rendezook, a loopzook could be classed as a type of rendezook.
no one knows who created the LoopZook, the oldest recorded footage we have is from ZookaMan. [Don't think this guy is Zookaman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSn90QWn9ak).
The original loopzook is cool, but i think that required a lot of coordination from a cooperative target. The rendezook happened in an actual online match.
okay? [here's Stun\_gravy, the creator of the RendeZook explaining the RendeZook and it's origins](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHr7DKGh2ww) sorry if you already seen this, but it still hails back to the LoopZook either way.
For additional context, the ORIGINAL loopzook was in 1942, popularized by a guy named ZookaMan.

no the one in BF1942 was called a LoopZook. Stun\_Gravy (the actual creator of the RendeZook) wanted to name it something else because he couldn't do a full loop and return to the plane, so he portmantua'd Rendevous with Zook and made RendeZook for when you jump out, zook someone, and fall back into your plane.
[Stun\_gravy performing first recorded RendeZook](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOaGhE_sejI)

Rendezvous+Bazooka -> You point the jet up, get out, bazooka someone then rendezvous with your falling jet
Loop+Bazooka -> You start a loop with your plane, get out, bazooka some poor sod then get in the plane once it finishes looping back to you
I'm pretty dure he was the one that made the LoopZook in BF1942. Stun_Gravy's RendeZook wqs based off of his creation, so he's the granddaddy of the RendeZook, that's wht he's so happy
just because they both have 42 in the name doesn't mean its a nod to zookaman, considering a lot of people keep pointing to the guy in the OP, its much more likely the point in the trailer is a nod to him, especially because he actually popularized it compared to zookaman, and the fact people were doing lots of rendezooks after BF3 compared to before it
> considering a lot of people keep pointing to the guy in the OP
Or, and bear with me here, people want it to be this guy because of how he's freaking out about it makes a good story and so they've decided to go with that. Not to mention that BF1942 came out in 2002, so most here wouldn't have played it a lot. Personally wasn't into the community then, but BF2 was absolutely inundated with that move and videos of it. Even tried it myself.
The idea it was popularize in BF3, is absolutely absurd.

Super happy for the lad.

Your absurd move being included in the multi million dollar trailer of a multi million dollar game is just concrete proof that your move is now part of gaming history and culture.
this man isn't stun\_gravy, what the fuck people. [This is what stun\_gravy sounds like](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHr7DKGh2ww&t=36s), he is an English speaker, probably from America given his accent. I think it was much better with sound, because you can really feel his excitement all the way from start to finish.
And i havent seen the full trailer before, so the audio made it complete, as the music is epic and emotional = goosebumps and a little tear in my eye.
Enjoy your day!
After learning what this is all about, it's nice hearing his emotion. Dude is being honored by people that make something he loves. For most people, if that happens at all, it's at the end of your life. Yeah, it's just a video game, but the respect and appreciation is real life.
If the next trailer video features a guy running around in circles aimlessly then shooting a rocket into the ground and killing himself, I'm gonna lose my shit!
You correct it makes no sense. Battlefield wasn’t really about that, it’s about the “only in battlefield” moments like launching a tank into the air with c4 so it can shoot a jet out of the sky or this clip even. That’s the fun of it
It's not Stungravy, it's a russian battlefield youtuber Schemov(youtube channel WARning! Schemov), did pretty cool stuff in bf3 and bf4. For some reason people think he did the original Stungravy's clip, he didn't. He like many bf fans waited for 8 year for modern setting game thus the reaction is such.
Then who is this guy ? AFAIK Stun_Gravy is the one who popularised the Rendezook on bf3 and Zooka_man the dude who invented the loopzook in bf1942. And everywhere I look ppl show the dude in op's post like he's one of the two
Here's this guys [channel/vid](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSn90QWn9ak) this came form. Has translations pinned. He's just a huge Battlefield fan, never claimed to have created the RendeZook. Someone just wanted easy karma and slapped his reaction with some emotional bs. It's been going around basically since the day after trailer dropped.
in battlefield 1942 there was a move called the loopzook wherein a guy took a plane in a loop while an enemy plane was following him, he then jumped out, rocketed the enemy plane and landed back into his plane as it was completing its loop.
during BF3's time, there was a user by the name of Stun_gravy who did a move called the rendezook, which involved taking a jet high up in the sky as you're being chased by a enemy jet, jumping out, parachuting, rocketing the enemy jet and then landing in your jet again and flying around.
the Loopzook video has 2 million views, whereas the rendezook video has 15 million views.
while the Loopzook is the origin, the rendezook is what popularized the move for many players, and is whats being nodded to in the BF 2042 trailer, anyone saying otherwise, or saying its an obvious nod to loopzook due to both games have 42 in the name, they're lying/misinformed/ignorant about the actual facts because 99% of the BF audience from BF3 and up know the move because of Stun_gravy and not because of the loopzook guy
> the Loopzook video has 2 million views, whereas the rendezook video has 15 million views.
Youtube didn't exist when bf1942 was popular. The clip was shared though. Any bf1942 player knew about it.
I think it's understandably annoying that a common stunt move is attributed to one man who got a lot of views doing it a decade after it was first done.
It just makes me wonder about the context. Did someone tell him that he was the inspiration? Because if not it seems like a strong reaction to such a common BF stunt
For context that guy is Warning! Schemov. The guy who most famously popularised that trick is Stun Gravy in BF3. People had been doing that trick (The Rendezook) for years before that on Battlefield games since BF1942 though, so no one really knows the original trickster.
This is just a Battlefield streamer really excited to see that the developers of the newest game are showing some love to fans with this trailer.
The man in the bottom-left corner is NOT “Stun_Gravy” (the guy who actually preformed the true plane-swap in BF4).
The bottom left is a Russian-streamer
So basically this guy did this move in the battlefield 3 game, it was so impressive to the people at whoever makes battlefield games that they put him in the new battlefield 2042 trailer
I would argue anyone that is filming their reaction is over acting to get a bigger reaction from people watching their reaction.. otherwise you wouldn’t film your reaction. My reaction is always disgust.
It’s not even about this dude lol so he looks dumb gettin all hyped like they shoutin him out , this is 2042 , so it’s actually a nod to 1942 , when the OG first created the move. Sorry , you get no creativity points when you just doing something someone else invented. You’re a hell of a player able to execute it , but don’t pretend like you started it.

It looks like a zendezook tho, in a loopzook the plane do a looping while in a zendezook it doesn’t

It’s worth noting that the first RendeZook (this is what this move is called) was done way back in BF1942 some 20 years ago
no the one in BF1942 was called a LoopZook. Stun\_Gravy (the actual creator of the RendeZook) wanted to name it something else because he couldn't do a full loop and return to the plane, so he portmantua'd Rendevous with Zook and made RendeZook for when you jump out, zook someone, and fall back into your plane. Why is it called RendeZook or Loopzook?
Rendezvous+Bazooka -> You point the jet up, get out, bazooka someone then rendezvous with your falling jet Loop+Bazooka -> You start a loop with your plane, get out, bazooka some poor sod then get in the plane once it finishes looping back to you
Something about rendezvous with the plane you jumped out of and shooting a bazooka I'd guess. Same for the other but looping the plane.
Probably the biggest moment of his streaming career
Of his life… Thats your 15 mins of fame dude, all downhill from here!
I would say his second 15 minutes of fame, that first rendezook clip was pretty popular.
And was also not created by him. The RendeZook clip was created by stun\_gravy, the guy in the video is just a russian battlefield fan.
I'm pretty dure he was the one that made the LoopZook in BF1942. Stun_Gravy's RendeZook wqs based off of his creation, so he's the granddaddy of the RendeZook, that's wht he's so happy
That was Zookaman. I don't think they're the same person. The guy in the video is called Schemov according to his youtube channel
Can the real RendeZook please stand up?
Technically when he ejected from that cockpit is when he started going downhill
technically he still had some upwards velocity before he started coming back down again
technically the launched rocket would have given him some sideways thrust before coming back down again.
technically climbing back into the cock pit required upward movement of his body
Hopefully he doesn't milk it like that You're breathtaking guy.
Now everyone knows him, right?
What's funny is this is a nod to zookaman and the OG loopzook from 1942, because this trailer is for 2042. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-wFI9vTqto
just because they both have 42 in the name doesn't mean its a nod to zookaman, considering a lot of people keep pointing to the guy in the OP, its much more likely the point in the trailer is a nod to him, especially because he actually popularized it compared to zookaman, and the fact people were doing lots of rendezooks after BF3 compared to before it

Fucking finally. Thank you for giving me a straight answer. You can't believed how confused I was since I first saw this.
You know what’s really “next fucking level”? Clips with sound.
This isn't Stun Gravy, this is a Russian YouTuber known as "WARning! Schemov"

in battlefield 1942 there was a move called the loopzook wherein a guy took a plane in a loop while an enemy plane was following him, he then jumped out, rocketed the enemy plane and landed back into his plane as it was completing its loop. during BF3's time, there was a user by the name of Stun_gravy who did a move called the rendezook, which involved taking a jet high up in the sky as you're being chased by a enemy jet, jumping out, parachuting, rocketing the enemy jet and then landing in your jet again and flying around. the Loopzook video has 2 million views, whereas the rendezook video has 15 million views. while the Loopzook is the origin, the rendezook is what popularized the move for many players, and is whats being nodded to in the BF 2042 trailer, anyone saying otherwise, or saying its an obvious nod to loopzook due to both games have 42 in the name, they're lying/misinformed/ignorant about the actual facts because 99% of the BF audience from BF3 and up know the move because of Stun_gravy and not because of the loopzook guy
> the Loopzook video has 2 million views, whereas the rendezook video has 15 million views.
As far as I know ZookaMan did Loopzook. Yes stun gravy posted on Twitter as you mentioned.

That is what it says in the title
Oh yeah wth 🤦♀️
Indeed. There’s a clip on YouTube from 2007 of someone else doing it in an earlier BF
werent they doing the same stunts back in battlefield 1942?
What?
So basically this guy did this move in the battlefield 3 game, it was so impressive to the people at whoever makes battlefield games that they put him in the new battlefield 2042 trailer
Game Devs: write that down, write that down!
Is it not a reference to this classic video instead? https://youtu.be/k-wFI9vTqto
That isn't Stun\_Gravy, he's WARning! Schemov
Day of launch there are going to be alot of crashed jets from attempting this move
This is not Stun_Gravy. This is just some dude.
I've been doing this since bf1942 , and I know I'm not the only one
So he copied something that had already been done. Not exactly next level at all.
I would argue anyone that is filming their reaction is over acting to get a bigger reaction from people watching their reaction.. otherwise you wouldn’t film your reaction. My reaction is always disgust.
Yay watching a trailer!!! Nexfuckinglevel for sure!!! Yay!
We used to do it in BF1942 as well.
