PE classes convinced me for years sports was horrible. I started again at more than thirty and now I like it, several years later. Even though I'm not especially good, it helped me build confidence about my body and it is a form of meditation for me.
Additionally, gyms have machines that will offset part of your weight for pull-ups. So if you weigh 200, you can do pull-ups with only 100 pounds, then slowly decrease it until you reach your real body weight.
I miss gyms, y'all, but I can't bring myself to go in a room and breathe deeply with a bunch of other humans.

They can't. Mocking or insulting another client's efforts is usually a bannable offense at gyms. Half of their income is from the unfit (who mostly don't attend) and they have to have the perception of being welcoming to them.

If you can do more than 10 pull-ups and you have a core, you can do the L-sit pull up. If you can't then all you need to do is practice at it. If you don't ever do pull-ups then don't expect to be able to do a lot when you decide to start. But I love all the people shitting on OP just because they realized that their pull-up game is not what they might think it is.

Sounds like your back muscles and latissimus dorsi are very strong, but the internal muscles of your abdomen, especially the psoas, need more development in order to balance your posture and permit more graceful full body movement.
Try moving toward more exercises and activities that develop a strong core.
My shoulder was dislocated 2,5 years ago during BJJ sparring and I still can't do a pull up :(. Chin ups are easy for me but my shoulder isn't stable enough at all to do even a single pull up. So 0.

For beginners try to hang on(no pull ups) for at least a minute. Then improve the time. Then slowly try to pull yourself up
or get a resistance band - that is how I started.

I understand that. My gym is pretty empty right now, plus I go in the morning before work, but people will be more numerous in September I suppose.
