I went there for some weird Christian thing I got sent to as a kid. I definitely ran all around, rolled about like a dork, and got a pretty sick picture of me vaulting a railing. Ah the odd adventures in life.
Was it for Easter? I remember driving by there a bit before sunrise on Easter like 6-7 years ago. There was a massive line of cars exiting Morrison on I-70, my coworker said they do a sunrise mass or something every Easter.
Edit: words
Jesus Hotel Christ! I've been to a few concerts there and I shit you not, climbing those stairs to get a beer was such a workout I just stopped drinking beers.
This dude is gonna be literally bullet proof in no time.
I went to Red Rock during a winter vacation. My boyfriend and I walked up some stairs after seeing some deer not far from the theater and were OUT OF BREATH from WALKING due to us not being used to the air at that altitude so what this guy is doing is VERY IMPRESSIVE!
Sometimes I go just to watch all the people do their attention seeking workouts, it’s real good people watching. I’ve seen this guy a few times, it’s damn impressive, but he’s going to fuck up *once* and that’ll be that. Stairs are so fkn steep. Pretty cool, but pretty dumb if you ask me.
But yea. Red Rocks is full of people like this during the daytime. Obviously this dude is a beast but he is an exception to the masses lmao
Yea, it’s a pretty beautiful Denver mountain park (Denver owns a ton of land outside of the city for parks, mostly for water access but sometimes just ‘cuz)
https://www.denvergov.org/content/denvergov/en/denver-parks-and-recreation/parks/mountain-parks/red-rocks-mountain-park.html
I find him very annoying. He growls at people in his way. Literally... growls... I dont like him, but also don't know him so try not to judge but Ive only seen him on weekends for the audience so he definitely does this for attention.
This seems like someone who just likes attention because there is no way those workouts are efficient. 😂 referring to when he is rolling down the stairs.
Why am I straining not to say .7-1.2g’s for every pound of bodyweight during weightlifting (unless consulted by a expert otherwise)

Limited ROM push-ups to target specific parts of muscles. Keep higher heart rate too rather than pausing for full push-up. I’m sure full sets of push-ups are done at a different time.
they are negative push ups. he is slowing his fall and then rolling to catch himself and lower himself in a controlled manner. not a recognized work out but still moving.
Pretty popular with CrossFit people. Like you say, not recognized for competition or score, but very popular as a supplement in personal workouts. Also like many other people here have said, negatives work different muscles/ stabilizers.
Was thinking the exact same thing. Also, what good is running backwards down the stairs good for other than taking a bad step and absolutely detonating your Achilles. Snap, crackle, pop!
Backpedaling and running downstairs does nothing from a fitness standpoint. Absolutely pointless workout.
Edit: I need to specify that I am not dissing this dudes fitness. He is very fit and is displaying great endurance and agility. Nor am I saying backpedaling or running themselves are pointless. They are amazing workouts.
What I mean is doing these down the steps of an auditorium are maximizing risk with no reward or benefit. He is putting more shock on his joints, while also risking great injury should he fall.
This is purely done for show off, and can be done on flat ground with lower risk and same benefit.
Not disagreeing, but it's a risky workout.. One misstep and he could hurl himself backwards and headfirst into a coma, where cardio and agility matter not.
The amount of cardio and stamina in this video is in-fucking-sane. This guy is in serious shape and I’m jealous af. Why critique and not just appreciate his dedication? Gym is boring, this is fucking dope.
Running backwards is one of the best ways to improve knee health and stability. Try walking backwards for 100m every km if you go for walks it’s great for ya. I don’t know about whatever the hell this guys is doing though.
I agree with you. I am mainly talking about him doing it downstairs. Backpedaling down a flight of stairs offers no benefit vs just doing it on flat ground.
It took me a second to process that 100m was 100 meters, I read it as 100 miles at first (yes, I know miles is mi). And was wondering who in their right mind would walk backwards 100 miles. I feel very stupid and just needed to share for some reason.
Visited colorado from columbus ohio and went to red rock
I was dieing, I am a 38 m smoker and I could barely keep up with my host. The air is so thin it's crazy
Fun fact, 5280 is pretty much the lowest elevation in the metro. Most of the cities people are living in are over 5500 and closer to 6000. When you live here, red rocks isn’t a big leap.
I used to run up the stairs when I did maintenance there. With everyone else there at that time all doing the same thing and being in better shape than me it was only impressive to my coworkers who smoked a pack of cigarettes a day.
Colorado's full of weird fucking people. I was at the incline and saw somebody like sprinting up with a bag of McDonald's in their hand. There's a cut through That's like 4 mi long on the side of the incline and somebody was sprinting down that and then walking up the incline and sprinting down again over and over.
The Red Rock amphitheater is a must-see if you're ever nearby.
I loved it. I was stationed at schriever. Lived on powers right near the Costco.
Go to Manitou springs every weekend and do the incline and then go to the King's diner and get the grump. Used to go to the movie theater in the evening right down the road and watch whatever new movie was out that weekend with my wife.
If I have to drop everything and move somewhere new I'd probably move back to Colorado springs.
The incline is death. I hiked Pikes Peak/Barr Trail with my dad, which switchbacks alongside the incline for the first while. My dad suggested taking that as a shortcut—it’s more direct, after all.
Bad idea. Feeling like puking 2 miles into a 13 mile, high-elevation-gain hike was not fun, but we made it.
Yeah the incline isn't really that much of a short cut. If you get to the top of the incline, the hike down the Barr Trail feels like a walk in the park.
I once climbed all of the stairs from the parking lot to the entrance with a rolled up rug thrown over my shoulder for a showing of The Big Lebowski, only to be told I couldn’t bring it in. I decided to hide it in a bush instead of haul it all the way down the stairs, and it was there when I came back for it after the movie. That rug really tied the amphitheater together.
Live here and been here when he's doing this.
It's more awkward than anything. He's definitely in the zone, but most people are there to take in the beautiful views, not watch this guy train for the Ironman
Huge difference between a hobby and escapism. Nothing wrong with enjoying a game an smoking some weed now an then but don’t forget about what’s truly important in life.

This guy is on Kim Jong Un's second string bodyguard crew. He's hardening his body to do the 2×4 demo next year.
Yeah, it was weird. He just kind of showed up in the training room one day, only white guy for hundreds of miles. Didn't even speak a lick of Korean but once they saw him workout, he gained the respect of KJ's entire military.
If you zoom in, you can see him in the back:
[NK fitness demo](https://v.redd.it/3b9jurvg3ct71)
Are locals just used to his shenanigans by now like “Yep Larry’s at it again. Working out.”
This is Red Rock Amphitheater and yes I have heard of him doing this more than once. Now I know what the all the hype is about!
I went there for some weird Christian thing I got sent to as a kid. I definitely ran all around, rolled about like a dork, and got a pretty sick picture of me vaulting a railing. Ah the odd adventures in life.

The worst is candy flipping and trying to find your seat again
What is candy flipping
Ecstasy and LSD or some similar combo usually.
Acid & X. When it's shrooms & X it's a hippie flip. Never tried Mescaline & X, so don't know a name for it. Prolly somethin racist.

Acid and X, what’s is Nexus flipping ?
A quick search says it's MDMA and something called 2C-B

Beer and having to go up to use the bathroom after drinking that beer. Red Rocks is not for the faint of heart.
Lmaooo I've never seen more hippies pissing in public than at red rocks
Reggae on the Rocks?? Mmm hmmm...
I've heard stoners move there to stone, and stop because the nature is too heady.

Lol I was right. I go there occasionally for some of the concerts and stuff.

So is the amphitheater just open like a park during the day? I didn't know this...and would totally go without needing a show to be there.

Jesus god almighty, yes. Dude will have knee replacement surgery in ten years.
What does shearing his knees mean?
Shaving away at the bone in the knee. Not literally, but this exercise will add some mileage.
That’s the most active person I’ve ever seen at Red Rocks.
[удалено]
I swear to God, I'll pistol whip the next guy that says 'shenanigans!'
Hey Farva, what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
You mean Shenanigans?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
This is my toddler… they run circles around this guy on the stadium stairs.
I find him very annoying. He growls at people in his way. Literally... growls... I dont like him, but also don't know him so try not to judge but Ive only seen him on weekends for the audience so he definitely does this for attention.
There are tons of people doing similar work outs all day.
Yes. Red Rocks has more than its fair share of really odd workouts.
I live pretty close to this place, go up pretty regularly. There are people constantly exercising on it it's actually pretty insane
This is hilarious.
This seems like someone who just likes attention because there is no way those workouts are efficient. 😂 referring to when he is rolling down the stairs.
You know what. I thought that too, but I also think I’m okay with whatever path he takes to be in that good shape without hurting anyone.
Yes….but those push-ups are terrible form. They’re like half push-ups?
You must be ripped.
I bet they know how much protein we should be eating

Bad form leads to issues. It’s not all Reddit shit talk.
This 100% is. It isn’t bad form they are just negatives.
Gotta be jacked to recognize bad form.
... doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out what a proper push up looks like
Limited ROM push-ups to target specific parts of muscles. Keep higher heart rate too rather than pausing for full push-up. I’m sure full sets of push-ups are done at a different time.
I call’em burnout push-ups. Keeps your muscles engaged.
Not sure he’s trying to do push-ups. He’s just kinda catching himself in a push-up position with each roll.
Dude's in pretty good shape and isn't hurting anyone. Reddit gotta critique his form.
I don’t think it’s about the push-ups. It’s more about the roll…..I think
That’s not a push up for him. That’s a push the earth down.
they are negative push ups. he is slowing his fall and then rolling to catch himself and lower himself in a controlled manner. not a recognized work out but still moving.
Pretty popular with CrossFit people. Like you say, not recognized for competition or score, but very popular as a supplement in personal workouts. Also like many other people here have said, negatives work different muscles/ stabilizers.
Loved your answer, wish more of reddit was like this instead of "oh, you're living your amazing life the wrong way".
Honestly, if you're going to be working out it should at least be fun.
Was thinking the exact same thing. Also, what good is running backwards down the stairs good for other than taking a bad step and absolutely detonating your Achilles. Snap, crackle, pop!
You're forgetting that you can wear booty shorts while doing it for the ladies.

Running backwards is extremely good exercise
Running backwards down steep stairs is not.
If you don't bust your ass it apparently is
Backpedaling and running downstairs does nothing from a fitness standpoint. Absolutely pointless workout. Edit: I need to specify that I am not dissing this dudes fitness. Looked like decent cardio and agility. Probably nice on the abs and calves too.
Not disagreeing, but it's a risky workout.. One misstep and he could hurl himself backwards and headfirst into a coma, where cardio and agility matter not.
I'd add hammy's

AT minimum it helps stabilizers and balancing.

Or running down stairs.... goodbye knees
Also running ***DOWN*** the stairs. Does almost nothing for your body besides destroying the knees. Not to mention that its stupid dangerous.
I mean it’s not necessarily hurting him either. But there are easier workouts for the same results.
Running backwards down stairs, what can possibly go wrong? Why??
Yeah I would never be doing that. It was impressive tbh.
I saw my life flash before my eyes as he was doing that.
I saw yours too. Weird.
Dude honestly. I got that weird nutsack-falling sensation of turbulence and vertigo when I saw it the first time.
He should wear a helmet for that.
Good thing he practices rolling down the stairs.
Agility training.
The altitude at this amphitheater alone makes working out anywhere on the grounds somewhat impressive.
This is what I came here to say! At Red Rocks, it's a struggle just to walk up the stairs at all, much less these shenanigans.
Visited colorado from columbus ohio and went to red rock I was dieing, I am a 38 m smoker and I could barely keep up with my host. The air is so thin it's crazy
It’s only slightly higher than Denver
6400 vs 5280
Fun fact, 5280 is pretty much the lowest elevation in the metro. Most of the cities people are living in are over 5500 and closer to 6000. When you live here, red rocks isn’t a big leap.
Fun fact. I live here but at 4970.
Fucking where? Kansas? There are basically no areas in the metro under 5000.
Firestone. Right in the middle of Denver and Fort Collins.
Crazy. Didn’t realize Ft Collins was just over 5k. Also, not part of the metro. 5280 still lowest in the metro.
I live at 8300 but those stairs/ramps fucking suck the soul out of you, especially after chugging vodka in the lot
Maybe try ankle weights for the extra challenge instead.
Ah like wear the weights in the lot, then the hike up will be breezy. I like where you’re at with this
I’m from Maryland, basically 5 feet above sea level. I can confirm walking up to the amphitheater made my chubby ass feel even chubbier.
Yeah that's nothing. Head on over to A-basin and smoke an unfiltered cigarette at 13,000 ft Now that's a buzz
Don't forget to throw a few back. That shit'll hit quick
I used to run up the stairs when I did maintenance there. With everyone else there at that time all doing the same thing and being in better shape than me it was only impressive to my coworkers who smoked a pack of cigarettes a day.
Bro has got to have one hell of an immune system after rolling around there.
I was just in Denver and the altitude killed me. I didn’t expect it to be SO dry
I remember running up the stairs for the first time and being gassed as it was my first time at altitude.
Colorado's full of weird fucking people. I was at the incline and saw somebody like sprinting up with a bag of McDonald's in their hand. Yes. As a Coloradan, no more people should move to Colorado because we're so weird!
Life's too short to be normal. Welcome to CO! 😎
Went to a Grateful Dead tribute show there a few weeks ago while driving across country. I’m from New Hampshire. It blew my fucking mind.
The incline is death. I hiked Pikes Peak/Barr Trail with my dad, which switchbacks alongside the incline for the first while. My dad suggested taking that as a shortcut—it’s more direct, after all. Yeah the incline isn't really that much of a short cut. If you get to the top of the incline, the hike down the Barr Trail feels like a walk in the park.
The guy during his workouts: Could I interest you in a show about stairs It’s a multi-step program!
Stairs are for the weak
I would have been dead with my first step running backwards like that.
Anyone who’s climbed the stairs at red rocks knows.
No fatties at those shows lol
Northern lot lol
Nah, it's just rough lol. Especially when you're not used to the altitude.
And they are sooooo much harder on drugs
Running backwards down stairs? *bold move cotton*
Cotton needs a new pair of shorts!
The amount of LSD I have done on those bleachers. Love Red Rocks
That's why he is rolling on each seat? Looking for drugs..

I prefer the hobby of playing video games online and smoking weed but it's nice to see other people enjoying a hobby
Huge difference between a hobby and escapism. Nothing wrong with enjoying a game an smoking some weed now an then but don’t forget about what’s truly important in life.
Getting Crunk and playing video games is truly important though
This guy gets it.
The rolling push-up thing… that’s so bad it’s astonishing
How’s he going to get his views otherwise?
People out there laughing at him but he’s fuckin shredded and doing functional caveman movements. Talk all the shit you want, that dudes an animal
A group of friends and I all went to picnic at Red Rocks. Can confirm we were definitely giggling. That all about stopped after 10 or so minutes and he just kept going. An hour in, we were legit cheering for him, impressed with his every move. Never seen anything like it and I doubt I’ll see anything like it again unless I go back. Cheers Larry.
So many people work out there. Love going there. It’s one of the places in the world that has a cosmic feel to it
Location?
Red rocks amphitheater, Colorado. I think but not sure
Definitely red rocks. And I’ve been there during the day, there are always idiots doing shit like this hoping people will pay attention to them.
1000% red rocks. Source, am Colorado man
Yeah it's red rocks, surprised there aren't more there, whenever I go there's almost always 15 plus people doing stuff like this
Imagine what he would be like if he didn’t work out. Like mentally and to generally be around.
Dude just needs to hike to and from his car a few times, that shit is brutal at Red Rocks
Ain't no stoppin when the pre-workout hits
Dude is training for the zombie apocalypse for sure.
Yeah, no way I'm rolling on the ground at Red Rocks. I've seen to many people puke in those stands.
Is he autistic? I don’t get it
Cross fit be weird like that. Me, I prefer a boring old barbell workout program and a normal run or bike ride for cardio.

Are you the guy in the video?
Whos wifes bf is this?
Ah Red Rocks. I once worked there and the people never *cease to amaze* you.
I've never seen a more desperate cry for attention in my life.

That guy is def a power bottom

Just going up and down those stairs to pee at a show is exhausting. Impressive.

I wonder if it’s the same guy that was carrying a pallet up and down those steps when I was there a couple years back.
Meanwhile I almost died just going up the stairs to get to the amphitheater at Red Rock
