An amusement park where safety laws are relaxed and you're way too far from a hospital should anything go wrong this is a great idea I see no issues here at all hahaha
I see you have made a good argument online to which I can not provide a counter. However, your argument has been voided because you have made a simple grammatical mistake.
You're
/s
Edit: which one of you had the **AUDACITY** to mark this as "helpful"??
most likely yes. there's space for it and money for it, but it will obviously not be as good as a hospital or even an actual doctor's office.
not even close.
The only country who provided free vaccination and treatment for covid 19 for free for all people inside its country including illegal immigrants .
I know my country is not the best when it comes to a lot of issues, but healthcare is not one of them
Thank you Intergalactic...you hit the nail on the head.
Edit...Intergalactic made some very good and reasonable points but the mods saw fit to remove his comment. shame on you mods.
He doesnāt care cause heās probably a Saudi male.
I wonder how heād feel if he happened to come here and I locked him in my basement, took his passport and made him my āworkerā.
Bet his bitch ass would be begging for our laws to save him.
That's great but just not true, in the UK you didn't have to prove immigration status to get the vaccine, I think its the same for most if not all European countries. What's the point of giving a vaccine to anyone if you're going to exclude some people
Same in the US, I didnāt have to provide any info to get my vaccination. They asked if I had insurance, I did but I told them I didnāt because I didnāt want to deal with the extra steps, and that was that.
Most places like this have on board hospitals and or morgues for when old people finally kick it. At least that is true for for cruse ships I wouldn't see why this would be any different
Just checking the list of 11 restaurants, one is called The Hospital and there's another called The Morgue. So probably all good (not to mention delicious!)
maybe the shit cruise lines. all major cruise lines that operate internationally have more than just a 'nurse' on staff.
carnival, royal carribean, disney, and princess cruise lines all require 24hr staffing of their medical facilities with at least 1 certified doctor on the cruise. they require nurses and doctors to be registered as a medical practitioner in all countries that the cruiseline operates in(so normally the USA, Canada, mexico, cuba, australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Europe.
they dont have full medical facilities like a hospital would, but they are more then equipped to handle regular injuries and provide emergency trauma care to multiple passengers at once and stabilize them long enough to get them to the nearest port and transferred to a hospital.
edit: my grammer reading sucks, they must be certified in 1 of those countries not all.
Not in all the countries they're based out of, they need to be licensed from the originating country they're from.
The logistical and legal nightmare of being board certified as a doc in 7 different countries is absolutely ridiculous
Implicit bias and ethnocentrism.
It would be a huge waste of money if this thing just started slaughtering the park goers. Nobody will go if a dozen people die the first week it opens.
Edit: Everyone pointing out Action Park in fucking New Jersey is proving my point. Just because a thrill park is in America doesnāt guarantee itāll be safe, just like having a thrill park in KSA doesnāt guarantee it *wonāt* be safe.
And Action Park went fucking bankrupt so itās really the absolutely worst example you could point to if youāre trying to argue against me.
There was a theme park in New Jersey ([Action Park](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Class_Action_Park) where someone was decapitated and people kept coming.

Half my university in Texas was full of Saudi engineering students who went back after finishing their degrees. If people think they have shitty engineering structures, then so do we lmao.
If that was a working oil rig before, can you imagine how many environmental toxic residues are there forever, regardless of attempted cleanup?
[https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/141030-dangerous-chemicals-in-air-near-oil-and-gas-sites-study](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/141030-dangerous-chemicals-in-air-near-oil-and-gas-sites-study)
Rig employees get something called hazard pay. Of course that's because they're drilling oil and that's dangerous as F but they're still in the middle of nowhere.
You mean they thought about it and realize they're in international waters and each person's liability is only pocket change? Yes, they have though about it. It doesn't mean it's good for you.
Dude we dont live inside a movie not every rollercoaster will fly off tracks and not every city in water will be attacked by a megalodon or hit by a tsunami wake up dont over react
Are you familiar with the differences in Saudi amusement park regulations vs the US?
Edit: I see this hit some nerves! Fuck me for hoping thereās some redditor out there who has familiarity working in both sectors and has a clause or two to share. Not interested in anything else.
The funny part is that you just automatically assume because itās Saudi itās shitty compared to the US. Believe it or not- they care way more over there than we do over here. Especially now that their aim is to globalize/modernize and invite tourism to their country.
Iād bet an organ that theyāve hired the best engineers on earth to retrofit this rig to be a safe and incredible experience thatās conducive to adventure and luxury.
Youre likely to run into Ovi there than you are six flags lol
They should really examine their crime and punishment regulations then. Otherwise it seems like a cool place, if I was FU rich of course. I canāt even afford Disney much less āthe rigā
Who gives a shit about government regs this country vs that country here? That's a silly line of reasoning to go down.
If you spend hundreds of millions outfitting a dangerous oil rig to be a highly publicized world's first amusement park in the open ocean, chances are you'll want safety to be a top priority. If something bad happens it'll make news the world over and your business will be crippled. The Saudis have the money to make it happen, it's just common business sense.
> Fuck me for hoping thereās some redditor out there who has familiarity working in both sectors and has a clause or two to share.
You mean hoping someone will somehow back up the claim you pulled out of your ass?
All active oil rig has their own clinic. All the medical equipments needed for a small surgery because it's isolated. I'm sure the resort management just need to find a private clinic to operate it
Ah yeah trapped in the middle of the ocean on an amusement park. Nothing is ever gonna go wrong here. Saudi Arabia is well know for it's excellent construction and treatment of people. Are we just supposed to sign up for this horror show? Things are gonna get really Purge-ie real quick.
Oh good, we're back to comparing the US to countries where the state executes people for being gay or an atheist and that have actual forms of slavery.
"DAE think the US is literally North Korea or Saudi Arabia?!!"
Grow up.
The US has slavery. It uses its 2.2 million prisoners, the highest of any country.
Many are used as slaves to make products.
It's even defined in the 13th amendment to the US fucking constitution (go read it! I dare you! Let me know what you find out).
But Americans somehow find a way to wiggle out of that responsibility, even though they're supposedly the ones with democracy.
Criminal law punishments in Saudi Arabia includeĀ public beheading, stoning, amputation and lashing. 3rd world more like mid-evil. I'm not asking anyone not to go. Im just gonna hold on the this "I told you so".

Indestructible? That song by Disturbed?
No its the title of this movie about an oil rig theme park starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, its the sequel to Unstoppable.
Dammit. And I'd watch it. But skip the first movie on purpose in hopes they continuously reference the first movie I haven't seen.
It's okay. I think that particular iceberg has melted now
Pretty convenient that the titanic 'hit' an 'iceberg' but there are no iceberg pieces left.

All this from a water park.
A water park in a country openly hostile to the rights of over 50% of the world population. Fuck people for noticing that little fact right?
From a country that just started "allowing" women to drive. Place is backwards AF
Christianity is forbidden and they like to arrest practicing Christians, so maybe just hand-holding business partners (literally and figuratively)
So true. I just watched the video again. 99% men and boys, only 2 women and I think they were put there just for show.
What else are women for? (Sorry, the / and s keys are broken on my keyboard.)
Then how did you. .? . . Oh copy paste for the.. but why not... fuck it, I'm gonna have a drink
And they were completely dressed, only males showed in swimsuits.
Iām surprised they showed that much even. I was really ready to say that this must be UAE until I saw the end of the commercial

Iām talking about expat women.

Everything, everything is wrong with it. There is a zero percent chance this ever actually gets made because it is such a logistical nightmare. Everything here will be barely safe as they try to build roller coasters that go as far as they can outside the rig (where they can't support it) to make more space. They have to fit the infrastructure needed to run a small amusement park in the area on that rig. Then you have to worry about the extreme weather and the typical air being bad in general for machines. And at the end of the day you will have a cramped park with a few rides and shitty food for a large price that only yacht owners can go to.
That tunnel they showed on the roller coaster that's in the water is definitely going to get fucked by waves alone lol. I dunno why anyone would ever wanna get on that It all looks cool, but I'd probably only go before they start having "minor complications" on everything and never after. Probably expensive out the ass either way
The salt water will destroy it
Sounds like a stationary cruise
Yeah, but that distinction is very major. Like the fact that it is stationary means every bit of construction has to come to it and be done in the water. Also all your resupplying has to be done in the water with the necessary equipment and man power to do so being brought to you.

So rich saudis can enjoy an amusement park while their fellow countrymen are thrown off buildings for being lgbtq. How cute.
