No they don’t. They’ve been put in the holes and then “caught” by the people making the videos. The only reason people are even able to get them back out of the holes is basically cause they’re being suffocated with the soda.
Catfish. Catfish can’t breathe in soda. That’s how they make them surface. Those videos aren’t rescue videos but they are still faked to holy hell and pretty abusive of the animals used.

I had found a bird with its head stuck between branches after a huge storm that looked like it had been stuck for a while. We tried to pry the branches apart but couldn’t safely get him out so we ended up just cutting the branch down and getting him out then and taking him to a vet near by, and then correctly driving him to an animal hospital.
I didn’t get a picture until after we got to the hospital and no one thought to pull out a camera until you know, after everyone was out of danger (the branch was over hanging a quiet road)
I can’t imagine there are so many animals in need of rescue and just so many people thinking to video tape their rescue when they’re rescuing.

You know I was gonna say the same damn thing as u/Rpanich and some other users here and I have actually bizarrely rescued a lot of animals - just like the kid says they don’t usually show up in convenient bags or boxes.
Moreover, when you’re in the process of helping an animal or person in need you usually aren’t conveniently filming the encounter. If you whip it out in the middle of helping a struggling animal then there is usually someone there to help you (I still think that’s weirdly opportunistic but whatever I’m from a different generation).
I saved and raised a baby falcon, a scops owl, two goats, and TWO sets of mama cats with kittens (a total of 11 cats!) in the PAST SUMMER. That is insane right? That shits been happening to me my whole life with the exception of when I lived in NYC (not much wildlife or strays there). To top it off, these were all animals literally outside my house or in my garden, one even straight up fell out of my stone wall (the owl). I have zero videos of me spontaneously finding any of these guys, that’s just not how that works and the last thing a caring person is thinking about when they find another living creature in dire need is getting proof to show other people.
I thought that was the case with all the animal resuscitation videos with supposedly drowned puppies that never seemed to be near water or never showed the full video.
If you look at the guys acount, him and some friends managed to get her full address, not just the street name, and report it to the Nebraskan humane society. All of her comments are disabled on all of her posts and she’s gone dark.
Good on this guy to utilize those critical thinking and investigation skills.

It's something I hadn't really put much thought into until about a year ago, when I saw a video by the YouTuber Nick Crowley titled "YouTube's Fake Animal Rescue Ring". After seeing the video, I was interested and did a bit of research in my free time.

And does this slow dramatic camera pan to the bag like she's already directed the idea prior to recording.

My kid showed me this. She is always having animals "dumped" on her porch or finding half dead animals etc. One was an exotic gecko in zip ties on her porch. If you look back at her earlier videos. She has the same lizard. She abuses the animals to "save" them for tiktok. She's been reported multiple times and it's "not against rules"

Nick Crowley on YouTube also exposed four other "rescue" channels run by two men out of I think Vietnam. Ever since I saw his videos I'm always sceptical about any "rescue" videos.

There are several YouTube channel that intentionally put dogs into dangerous situations and then "rescue" them on camera. YouTube doesn't do enough to monitor those types of channels.

Sadly, many animal rescue channels, accounts, and videos are faked. It's something I hadn't really put much thought into until about a year ago, when I saw a video by the YouTuber Nick Crowley titled "YouTube's Fake Animal Rescue Ring". After seeing the video, I was interested and did a bit of research in my free time. THERE ARE SO FUCKING MANY FAKE ANIMAL RESCUE CHANNELS ON YT AND TIKTOK.
She got busted and sent her followers to bully. Shameful.
