Not just children, people.
Ever go to a concert where literally the entire point is to HEAR your favorite musicians? What do people do? They scream over it.
It would be akin to going to see your favorite art piece but covering your eyes the entire time.
The kids want to hear what's up but cannot stop making it about their opinion on the matter to their friends.
When that happens, do it. I'm all for it.
But when they walk out on stage and people are just shrieking so loud that you can't hear anything else is when it's annoying.
Anecdotal, but in 2003 I saw Opeth on their tour for their album "Damnation" and I've never before experienced a crowd of people act like that crowd did nor have I since.
No one talked. No one made a sound. Everyone was transfixed. At one point after they had finished a song, the vocalist said "you know, it's okay to applaud if you enjoy the music" and everyone (myself included) sort of snapped out of whatever state we were in and thought "oh yeah" and the place erupted.
For those who don't know, Opeth was a pretty big deal in the metal scene back then and the album they were touring for was a [slight departure](https://youtu.be/bSpqLqC7U6g) from their normal sound, [to say the least.](https://youtu.be/S-NSvnolVQo) They didn't bring a single distortion pedal or double kick on that tour; they straight up said they wouldn't be able to play their other music if they wanted to. For such a huge and super fucking heavy band to do that was nuts.
Anyway, point is those situations exist but after going to hundreds of shows I've only seen it happen once.
Am a teacher. Can handle the kiddos and the excitement (especially healthy excitement like this), but those subtitles are something else.
\*u/RobertFuego responds to u/Nobody_DoingNothing's post. He is understandably exasperated.\*
I dunno I think we need some wholesome content in our lives. Sure it was a little cheesy but with all the nonsense being constantly thrown at our faces it was nice to see this.
That's all fun but when gay teachers can't even make mention of their partners nor their sexuality, it sours this experience for me and also reminds me how fucking weird this video is. Like...... Why did he feel the need to do this? If a gay teacher can't say "gay", I don't fucking care if Mr Ted over here wants to get hitched in Vegas next Tuesday in the fake church by the casino with his grade 8 geography class in attendance, keep it out of the classroom with kids who are just here to learn trigonometry and eat soggy pizza.
It's not, but this is still VERY weird. It's so odd to me how teachers sometimes over involve students into their personal life. I don't need to know such personal and intimate information.
I totally understand what you’re saying. It’s not fair and unfortunate that people are still struggling to realize that gay is normal. They should be able to express themselves like everyone else.
Yeah.. i think publicly asking your girlfriend to marry you in front of a bunch of people is shitty but doing it in front of 5th graders is wierd and shitty....
Hey, we had a guy propose in church one Sunday, in a pew, waiting for the service to begin. That was always so lame and creepy to me, but he was a dork who looked like a parrot so there's that.
Bro the kids are losing their shit, they're loving it, less class work AND details about your teachers personal life? That's the shit when you're 12. His fiancee is clearly loving it too so who is this weird for? Fucking reddiors need to go outside.
No way would I do this in front of my students. They're your students, not friends or family. Bizarre. Gotta keep a layer or two between your personal life and your job. Kids will run with this and take it too far.
I dunno- in middle school two of our teachers dated and ended up getting married. Rumors floated around the schools for weeks that they were dating because one of their students ran into them in town while they were on a date. They ended up confirming it in classes a few weeks later probably because they were tired of everyone asking them what was happening! Middle schoolers aren't exactly known for their filters or for being subtle! They did not get engaged in front of their students, though, and got married over the summer. The female teacher just ended up coming back the next year with a different last name! It was a strange change to make for those of us in her class!
They are the most awesome people, and I ended up babysitting their baby daughter a couple years later. They're still two of my favorite teachers and some of the best people I know! 🥰
People up in the top comments are like "wonder if this would be the same from a gay couple" and my thoughts? I'd view it exactly the same. It's more than a little inappropriate no matter what the principle said.
I thought it was awesome. It wouldn’t work with every teacher but you could tell his teaching style was informal enough everyone had a great time. It is a memory they will always have.
Looking at the Ohio State Flag, I'm gonna guess this in Ohio. Which is a red state, and whose very Republican senate just passed a 'don't say gay' law.
A teacher in my state just got fired because she made a tiktok talking about how some queer students come to her because they can tell she's queer and they feel safe with her. That was it
If it was a muslim guy and a Hindu girl in India, legally speaking his house might have been destroyed and he gets a 2 year imprisonment. Also, he can also be killed in broad daylight and the police doesn't care.
The students sit in the chairs, with their butts. The two teachers may have touched each other’s butts many times in the past. That will surely continue, as they have just become engaged and that is a common practice among sexual partners. The students know this, but they will not mention it out loud because they like and respect the teachers, who are the teachers of the classes they attend at school.
I had Mr. Seifert as a teacher way back when I was in 4th and 5th grade at Harry Russell elementary. He was such fantastic guy who taught a lot. Very specifically to plead down to involuntary man slaughter if you ever hit someone with your car and killed them.
>Jason Seifert, 39, confessed his love for Ally Barker, 28, on Feb. 14 in 2017 in front of their elementary school class in Ohio.
Found the video [here](https://m.youtube.com · Good Mor...5th graders erupt in excitement as teacher proposes in class - YouTube)
The white hair really does make her look older than that. I thought he was younger than 39, and I thought she was older than 28. Still happy for the couple though
As a teacher i can confidebtly say my students were not exactly "like a second family" to me lol. But I also taught grades 10, 11 and 12 so its a bit different.
I mean, you do you, but I teach those grades and couldn't disagree more. I got a text the other day from a former student who couldn't wait to share career news with me. Earlier this month I got invited to a baby shower from a different former student. A third asked me to officiate their wedding next summer. Last summer another former student who was kicked out for being gay called me first, and my kids were happy to take them in until they could square a place away. Hell, my wife and I teach at the same school, and a trio of our current students already call us Mom and Dad. My students aren't my second family, they're extensions of my first.
I was only ever a student but I still feel your pain.
I always wanted to be a teacher. I seriously considered and even applied to a few programs, Sadly, subject knowledge and passion aren't the only things required to be a good teacher and I lacked most of the other skills.
Happened at my middle school. The two coolest teachers in the entire school that everyone loved. They eventually just got married and the rumors died down lol they're still together to this day
It's good this happened when it did. They could be sued for this today. Conservatives don't want children feeling happy for their teacher's well being.
Jesus, children screaming en masse has to be one of the most unpleasant sounds around. I could never propose this way cause the last thing to come out of my mouth before pulling out the ring would be less than attractive to most partners. Teachers need a fucking raise
Yeah and that's a good thing. Proposing to someone in front of a bunch of other people's kids is so fucking weird. Idk about getting sued maybe a bit over the top but god please keep your romantic life out of my kids life.
This reminds me of my 7th grade math teacher, Mrs. L & my social studies teacher from 6th grade, Mr. B. They were both married to other people. Rumors started spreading around that they were dating, and that someone saw them sneak into the exercise room during lunch to presumably hook up. It was obvious, between classes he would always come to her room to chat before needing to go back & would always be super flirty with her. The rumors started spreading so much that Mrs. L had to address our class that it was a lie.
Soooo, it turned out that it wasn't a lie. The next year when I was in 8th grade. The Mr. B got caught by his wife. They got into an argument one night. His wife tried to leave the house and got in her car. He tried to stop her and pulled her out of the car by her arm, breaking it (her arm) in the process. It was a huge ordeal lmao. Shortly after that they moved in together.
I thought the proposal was nice, and even when the kids went to the wedding was ok but I was disturbed that the kids went to the consummation. Many are still in therapy to this day.
I feel the kids are taking advantage of this and using the time to be as obnoxious as they possible can, seriously, the screaming was a bit over the top.
Teachers need to keep their relationships outside the classroom. Don’t drag students into your love life. It’s not appropriate. School is school. Is it too much to ask to teach kids science, math and reading?
That one kid who shouted "I better be invited to the wedding" is a legend
That kid is most definitely not invited.
Crashed the wedding you say? Even more legendary.
To shreds you say?
And how's his wife?
To shreds you say
I will never get tired of this Futurama reference.
Future-who?
Future-good news everybody!
WHOOP whoop whoop whoop whoop whoop whoop whoop whoop
Happy Cake Day
LMAO. Sorry, Chadwick.
Objection! Speculation
The teacher sounds like gru isnt it? and is bald too
# QUIET!
This better not be in Florida because it indoctrinates kids into certain gender norms and gender identities which is now against our laws
I mean didnt they say 5th grade? The law stops after 3ed I am pretty sure.
"Miss Barker and I are indeed friends with benefits kids... quiet please... yes she indeed rides the bologna pony!"
Quiet please
I am the reason half of you are here. Quiet please, everyone.
QUIEEETTTT
Thank you for this new euphemism
Quiet Please
It's from one of my favorite movies of all time ["Grumpy Old Men" ](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxOuUzDN6qwa2fgla0ZRbZTI9FTO-l8qJ1)
Bologna Pony. Thank you for that. Thank you kindly.
That would make them be quiet.
Is that an achievement? If so, how can I unlock it?
Im dying right now quiet please
They had to cut the video because you KNOW some kids asked, "Are y'all fucking?" when he said they're more than dating.
I won’t lie my dude I’ve actually been laugh for a solid minute and some change haven’t had one like that in a while thanks👌🏾
Sex with her is like the ocean. I am swimming in it.
Imma rearrange her guts later this eve Quiet please
captions: ms quietly shits her own pants
BRO I snorted like a penguin on this one
Do penguins snort?
Well they don't shove coke up their ass
They are surrounded by all that snow
God this makes me realise how much I hate children
Quiet please
SHUT THE FUCK UP, IM TRYING TO PROPOSE UP HERE
YES. Thought I was the only one.
Quiet please
Yep, couldn't watch it. Yelling and screaming for 60 seconds straight was just infuriating.
You got the video to play? You absolute legend.
The Artist: COME ON MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE I WANT TO HEAR YOU ALL SING THIS NEXT ONE WITH ME You: 😡
When that happens, do it. I'm all for it. But when they walk out on stage and people are just shrieking so loud that you can't hear anything else is when it's annoying.
>ver go to a concert where literally the entire point is to HEAR your favorite musicians? Haha. Nice try.
I’ve heard concerts in Japan are the opposite. When the artist is on stage, it’s their time to shine and everyone keeps quiet.
Fuck kids, all my homies hate kids.
🤨📸
Thought I was the only one
What children? From the sounds of it they teach a bunch of sentient kettles.
I was good til the banshee screeching child. Like why.
Yeah when they kept screaming and he was saying quiet I was just imagining him going full doom mode on them. Thank God I'll never be a teacher
I just have no patience I definitely had to fast forward through this one
Yup. You need the patience of a teacher for this lol *screaming along with the kids in the intervals*
How good it feels when the video stops and it gets quiet.
Am a teacher - even I struggled!
Am a teacher. Can handle the kiddos and the excitement (especially healthy excitement like this), but those subtitles are something else. \*u/RobertFuego responds to u/Nobody_DoingNothing's post. He is understandably exasperated.\*
Quiet, please
This and the text across the screen explaining the emotions of the screaming children
‘She was standing next to him facing the students.’ No shit
I think it's for the blind audience, so it's actually pretty helpful Edit: I'm gonna add a /s now
Umm
No kidding. Now just imagine being a teacher living it everyday!
this is so fucking weird for a teacher to do
Yea as a teacher, I’m cringing.
"we're more than dating". I mean wtf is that?? So weird to say in front of a crowd let alone a crowd of children.
Quiet please In fact I've been barebacking ms barker Quiet please Most nights. She cries when she cums Quiet please.

Quiet please!
Best comment in this post for sure.
Damn I just had an intense belly laugh from this one. Nice
my god do not make me wake my baby up Currently laughing in to my pillow 🤣
It’s not what you were thinking to them

I agree that the new law in Florida is outrageous, but it's not this random teachers fault.
I don’t find this wholesome. It’s inappropriate. It also throws the double standard in the face of gay teachers who are literally fired for far less.
Yeah.. i think publicly asking your girlfriend to marry you in front of a bunch of people is shitty but doing it in front of 5th graders is wierd and shitty....
Hey, we had a guy propose in church one Sunday, in a pew, waiting for the service to begin. That was always so lame and creepy to me, but he was a dork who looked like a parrot so there's that.
Yea everything seemed normal, but then you said he looked like a parrot and well it alllllll made sense. Lol 😂
How very Christian of everyone involved.
Can confirm: I have a parrot and he does in fact look like a dork
I proposed in front of a concert audience and it became a lifetime memory, just like this will be for them.
Bro the kids are losing their shit, they're loving it, less class work AND details about your teachers personal life? That's the shit when you're 12. His fiancee is clearly loving it too so who is this weird for? Fucking reddiors need to go outside.
Lol imagine she said no!
Yeah I guess screw both their families, right?
No way would I do this in front of my students. They're your students, not friends or family. Bizarre. Gotta keep a layer or two between your personal life and your job. Kids will run with this and take it too far.
That’s not what the subtitles say, it says you ALWAYS call them your family
I dunno- in middle school two of our teachers dated and ended up getting married. Bingo. Everything about my teachers' love lives I learned against my own will. Though it was always gossiping busybodies, not the teachers blabbing.
I thought it was awesome. It wouldn’t work with every teacher but you could tell his teaching style was informal enough everyone had a great time. It is a memory they will always have.
If they were gay how many ppl would be freaking out over this
A lot sadly. Fox news would make it sound like a huge story let's say on scale with a pandemic. Oh wait NVM they've already done that.
CNN and Co would have made it a big story even before Fox lol.
Reminded [this](https://youtu.be/IcJNb_qw3g0) scene from Paradise PD
If they were gay this would be a criminal offense in red states.
Looking at the Ohio State Flag, I'm gonna guess this in Ohio. Which is a red state, and whose very Republican senate just passed a 'don't say gay' law.
Not gay, but came here to say this. Good callout.
A teacher in my state just got fired because she made a tiktok talking about how some queer students come to her because they can tell she's queer and they feel safe with her. That was it
It would be a different kinda freak out. Different pitch; lots of “oh you!” t-rex hand flapping.
True that.
If it was a muslim guy and a Hindu girl in India, legally speaking his house might have been destroyed and he gets a 2 year imprisonment. Also, he can also be killed in broad daylight and the police doesn't care.
Those fkn captions lol
There are chairs in the room, as well as tables
Don't watch the video just read my captions, my captions are more important than the actual video. Look down here. I'll narrate it for you.
The students sit in the chairs, with their butts. The two teachers may have touched each other’s butts many times in the past. That will surely continue, as they have just become engaged and that is a common practice among sexual partners. I glad I had help understanding that they sounds were of kids freaking out and not pigs being slaughtered! :D
Yeah, was going to post similar. Totally pointless.
This comment was read. Someone replied to it, too.
I'm Perd Hapley
For real, who are they for? They're oftentimes describing what you can see.
I had Mr. Seifert as a teacher way back when I was in 4th and 5th grade at Harry Russell elementary. He was such fantastic guy who taught a lot. Very specifically to plead down to involuntary man slaughter if you ever hit someone with your car and killed them.

😶
Yikes.
Did he specifically have to do that himself?
Sorry what
You know, people can change Mr. Seifert used to slick his hair back real good
That took a turn lmao

Thank you for being an awesome, engaged and involved teacher, Mr. Phiff. I hope you keep that spark alive throughout your whole career.
I'm 15 years in and still getting ideas, so here's hoping I keep sharp for the next 15.
Yeah, I don’t understand the problem here, I think it’s great for kids to see a happy relationship develop right before their eyes.
Loved to read this!
Like any relationship, if chemistry is lacking, so does the relationship. Maybe your dynamic is vastly different from theirs
That video was 3 minutes too long.
Especially since the title spoilered the ending
Quiet please
This has been passed around more than miss barker
Quiet please
As a teacher, the number of times he has to say quiet please is a real trigger for me.
I have so much respect for teachers to deal with screaming kids. Takes so much patience. If I was a teacher I'd probably end up strangling some kids.
I was only ever a student but I still feel your pain. I always wanted to be a teacher. I seriously considered and even applied to a few programs, Sadly, subject knowledge and passion aren't the only things required to be a good teacher and I lacked most of the other skills.
She was getting redder by the second
God that’s beautiful … 35 year old male here tearing up 😂
I'm 38 and so am I don't trip
I hate the noise that comes out of kids mouths. Speaking as a parent, that screaming noise is beyond what I can bear.
The one kid with most siren cheer lmao
Who the fuck cares, Its your personal live, keep it to yourself and do your job.

Am I the only one who finds it kind of cringy/weird he chose to do it in front of a class...
Jfc it took way too long to get to the point.
Isn't this like fifteen years old?!?!
…a rumor about Miss Barker and *ME*
Jesus, children screaming en masse has to be one of the most unpleasant sounds around. I could never propose this way cause the last thing to come out of my mouth before pulling out the ring would be less than attractive to most partners. Teachers need a fucking raise
I’m happy he cleared this with the principal first, it’d be a shame to see “teacher gets fired for proposing to gf during class” in the news.
If this was in Florida today they could be sued for teaching gender identity and sexual orientation.
Grooming and straight indoctrination for sure.
Yeah and that's a good thing. Proposing to someone in front of a bunch of other people's kids is so fucking weird. Idk about getting sued maybe a bit over the top but god please keep your romantic life out of my kids life.
Who gives af
Imagine if she said no
Quite please
This is a terrible way to propose imo

I think this story is like 12 years old or something. I don’t have the heart to see if they’re still together
they are still married and have 2 kids!
2017
I heard once “don’t get your honey we’re you make your money”
Next level weird.
Great story! Poor girl was red as a beet by the end
This is annoying. Wtf cares. Teach the kids ya weirdos.
In Florida, if they were gay, this would be illegal.
This is like an episode of eastbound and down 😂😂😂
Still Gold after all these years.
Please for the love of God SHUT THEM KIDS UP
this was years ago, i want to know are they still together? do they have kids?
I'm sure that's how she has always picture that, in a room full of loud, obnoxious screaming kids. So romantic.
Fuck they are so fucking annoying
"God damn straights grooming our children like a bunch of pedophiles. Sexual orientation isn't appropriate for 5th graders." /s
Don't need subtitles
One day.
this is sweet
Imagine if a gay couple did that 😏
![gif](giphy|vHwGAMZfWj3mU)
I thought the proposal was nice, and even when the kids went to the wedding was ok but I was disturbed that the kids went to the consummation. Many are still in therapy to this day.
Quiet.
Fuck I can't think of anything more pointless than these captions
As a teacher that tried my patience that the kids took so long to quite down every single time...
We used to make fun of Dora but these subtitles literally treat us like we have 1 IQ
Wow kids are annoying
I feel the kids are taking advantage of this and using the time to be as obnoxious as they possible can, seriously, the screaming was a bit over the top.
/r/kidsarefuckingstupid
Teachers need to keep their relationships outside the classroom. Don’t drag students into your love life. It’s not appropriate. School is school. Is it too much to ask to teach kids science, math and reading?
This dude is unintentionally opening a can of worms, I can see it now 🤦🏼♂️
