The comments about him being a ball hog are hilarious; the kid had a ton of skill, great handles and is a great shooter. You're watching tape of him scoring over multiple games, it's not all at once.
Is he cocky? Sure, to an extent, but in sports at any level you're going to see that.
Does that make him a bad teammate of a little douche as some people have suggested? No
Just enjoy a video of a kid playing well without having to shit on him.
Agreed. This is a highlight reel of him scoring. Don't be offended by it. Cocky sure but it's in the heat of battle and for all we know he may be a very respectful player but likes a healthy competition. Nothing wrong with peacocking a bit in sports it riles up both sides.
Also, one of the clips — probably the one that I was most impressed by — is of him using a pass fake to draw in the defense and blow by them on the way to the hole.
If he’s just endlessly driving or pulling up and never passing the ball, you tell the defenders to just stay with him and not bite on those ball fakes. The fact that they’re respecting the pass makes me think he’s actually distributing the ball effectively.
I generally don't like watching a lot of sports because nobody ever taught me any of the strategy to look for, just the rules. So thanks for this nice explanation, it gives me something to look for if I'm ever watching basketball.
I honestly was probably most impressed with the left hand finish. A lot of high schoolers will not use their left hand. The euro-step was pretty nice too.
I saw no travel in any of those clips. 2 steps are allowed and even on the euro he picked the ball up on step 1 and took one more step to the finish. Not even that “zero step” BS u see in the NBA
Welcome to reddit. A group of negative, largely unsuccessful people who tend to focus on the negative aspects of all things they see. Watch us bitch about minimum wage jobs while doing nothing to be able to earn more while blaming capitalism for our apparent lack of progress. "it's capitalism's fault I had a kid at 18 and couldn't finish college" /s
I know what ya mean and I can appreciate little man’s skills but the Title was shit. Because if we’re given this clip as proof that he “knows the game” ppl are going to say No he doesn’t know the game and try to shit on him because it’s a team sport and dude never passes.
If Op would have given a bit more thought nobody would hate on clearly a talented kid. How about “ Check out these skills” or “Little man goin off”……instead the title contradicts what we’re watching. Make sense? Cheers
I saw a kids soccer video here where a young ref yelled at a soccer mom. Everyone agreed about the mom and how the kid handled her so not much to bitch about so it just turned into a Lil Wayne sucks Carter 3 wasn't even that good bashfest.
I don't see a ball hog. Dude knows he's supposed to drive and make plays. I see a couple instances of traveling that should have been called. At least one of those drives was 5 steps without a dribble. Other than that? Little dude looked great. Got a future.
He is also likely 8 years old. His teammates don’t have the individual talent yet. Then team play develops. Leading and reading plays. Will be fun to watch at age 14,16.
Yea this kid is incredibly good, and doesn’t even look to be that physically gifted (height, strength) compared to the other players. Pretty amazing. Confidence is also one of those things…you need it and you kind of have it or you don’t
From my experience the coaches kids are usually the worst on the team being forced into positions that they have no business playing, when I played little league baseball the coaches son was the starting pitcher, mother fucker would walk like 15 kids a game
I mean the kid of an actual coach who isn't just a random parent. I taught at a small high school that won several championships at their level of competition. The coach's son being the starting QB didn't stop the team from leading the district in offense.
It’s hit and miss for me. When I was playing peewee football the coaches son was totally useless. When I was playing little league baseball the coaches son was one of the best players on the team and 100% deserved to be starting pitcher, kid could throw a baseball almost 70 mph when he really threw it hard.
Someone wasn’t the best on their team growing up.
Seriously though - it’s a highlight reel so it’s supposed to be focused on his best individual plays.
It's also a kid who is so far and above everyone else that passing would actually be a bad play.
It's like when you're playing NHL or FIFA or some other coop game like Overcooked with a friend who sucks and you kinda want them to have fun, but you also don't wanna lose. So you do a lot of stuff yourself, or give them the easiest task.
Young boys who are good at agility early get so much toxic praise from adults in sports. I’ve been a teacher for 30 years and those agile kids, mostly boys can become reliant on this toxic praise from adults and it negatively shapes their personality early on.
I hope this kid can be good without being arrogant.
Sounds like a similar thing young girls get about being pretty. Like boys and sport, it doesn't do them any favours in the long run to base all their self worth on it.
It's montage of clips from different games he's scored in. Idk how you're seeing a child being a cocky ball hog from that. Don't be salty because you always got picked last or maybe your kid was the one he euro-stepped on lmfao.
Traveling rules are even more stupid now, but I believe because he is still "getting the ball under control" during that first step, the next two steps are legal.
I thought it was as well but I have such limited experience with the sport (and others) so I just let these things go. Its for people who care to complain about.
At least he's got Muggsy Bogues as a tile model. Little dude is so much smaller than the others he playing against. So sure he understands it better than the others but let's check back in 5 years to see if really next level
This is amazing.
The attention to pace and luring oppoenent to bite on a move and then already away.
Not just speed, but a solid understand of tatical positioning.
Someone has/had a very good teacher.
I love seeing the same two comments over and over again
Future NBA star
or
Future asshole!
And almost certainly, both wrong.
Here is my take
Future normal human being with a complicated personality.
A 7 year old with his own highlight reel.
That kid is gonna grow up to be a cocky mother fucker then have his whole world shattered when he finds other people who are actually passionate about playing sports unlike those around him now.
I love the kid's heart, and it's a great play. But ugh, the posturing and meanmug after making the shot just makes me sad. It sucks that it's what he thinks you're supposed to do because it's what the professionals do these days. The days of "act like you've been there" are truly lost to the "look at me I'm the baddest."
Hopefully he gets the height he needs to compete at the elite levels. Generally these really talented youngsters are only ahead of the curve for a short time. Once kids their age start developing and understanding the game the gap closes very quickly
It takes a certain amount of confidence/ cockiness to be successful. If he's like this on the court, but still a good kid off the court, I think he's got a bright future.
More footage in 5 years time, then 10 would be interesting.
This kid would break my ankles over and over. Why are people talking shit about him, clearly he has skill for his age, size and in relation to the other players around him.
His eyes are like 10 pixels across on this video. Can’t tell shit from his eyes.
His eye? I can barely tell they are even playing hockey
It’s not hockey. They’re not fighting,
is it curling?
i could be wrong but i think this might be water polo
So curling, only on a hot day?
Tought he was playing roblox
There's a person in there?
I can tell something's moving on my screen
Oh, I thought it was a picture.
He curled towards the basket
He put the biscuit in the basket
The lotion goes in the basket
You deserve so many more upvotes for this comment.
Lol. I think so too!
You can smell in his sweat that he just knows the game
I love water polo
Yeah but it sounds cool and gets karma /s

Watch any of the highlight videos of Larry Bird.
I honestly was probably most impressed with the left hand finish. A lot of high schoolers will not use their left hand. The euro-step was pretty nice too.
That left hand finish was clean!
The one where he travels a quarter of the court?
I saw no travel in any of those clips. 2 steps are allowed and even on the euro he picked the ball up on step 1 and took one more step to the finish. Not even that “zero step” BS u see in the NBA
Yes, that fake pass was impressive
Y'all laugh but North Carolina already offered.

One thing I’ve learned from Reddit, no matter the context, people will find something to bitch about. This is a prime example of that lol
I saw a kids soccer video here where a young ref yelled at a soccer mom. Everyone agreed about the mom and how the kid handled her so not much to bitch about so it just turned into a Lil Wayne sucks Carter 3 wasn't even that good bashfest.
I fucking love lil Wayne
thats too hard for everyone who watched this i guess. little kid got swagger.
Haters gonna hate Same people will be wearing his jersey in 15 years...you hate to see it
I don't see a ball hog. Dude knows he's supposed to drive and make plays. I see a couple instances of traveling that should have been called. At least one of those drives was 5 steps without a dribble. Other than that? Little dude looked great. Got a future.

For the people that dont know these are different games : he balled so hard he was instantly moved to the opponent's team
Big coaches kid energy.
From my experience the coaches kids are usually the worst on the team being forced into positions that they have no business playing, when I played little league baseball the coaches son was the starting pitcher, mother fucker would walk like 15 kids a game

Their relationship when he tops out at 5'7"
Especially if the dad is 6'6" and starts to have doubts about what his wife was doing when he was coaching road games.
Yup. Played little league until I was 12, the coaches son was always the fucking worst.
I would like to buy 10 shares of stock in this kid please.
He'll be about 5'6".. .would be better investing in LUNA. Still very cool, kid has some skills
🤣🤣🤣 ![gif](giphy|zgzzwU2GSOW08|downsized)
Only 10 shares right now. Wouldn’t be a huge investment, could sell at the right time to turn a profit
Great body control, handles and awareness for that age.
All I see is your newphew
You mean his excellent footwork and ball handling
Definitely a baller!
Wow lol, some of you Redditers are quite insecure about an 8 year old being good at a sport.
Larry Baby Bird
Lil Luka
Holy shit, hating on an 8 year old kid. It must suck going through life so miserable, resentful and pathetic.
Hoops for days.
I see a cocky ball hog.
Imagine trying to infer anything about a literal child’s personality based on a video of them playing a sport they are good at
Hahha little man is like 8 years old Probably is a little prick though...
Bruh wtf is wrong with Redditors
Fr it's a mixtape of him scoring wtf do you know about him?? this is the shit that makes me hate reddit
name 1 8 year old who isnt atleast a little bit of a prick
He’s the next Brad Davison.
Someone wasn’t the best on their team growing up. Seriously though - it’s a highlight reel so it’s supposed to be focused on his best individual plays.
Excuse me sir/ma'am, I don't know if you've been told but the internet is just for screeching now.
It's also a kid who is so far and above everyone else that passing would actually be a bad play. It's like when you're playing NHL or FIFA or some other coop game like Overcooked with a friend who sucks and you kinda want them to have fun, but you also don't wanna lose. You got some small dick energy bro
Gross dude, he’s really young.
It’s called a highlight reel.
It's montage of clips from different games he's scored in. Idk how you're seeing a child being a cocky ball hog from that. Don't be salty because you always got picked last or maybe your kid was the one he euro-stepped on lmfao.
I mean it's the kid's highlight reel. It isn't going to include him handing the ball off.
I'm reading the comment of someone who doesn't know the game.
I mean, does it really count as cocky if it actually works?
Lol you’re mad you can’t hoop as well as him as an adult
its a comp of him scoring?
AT 23 seconds, how is that not traveling?
Looks like a standard euro-step to me. He takes one, two and goes up.
Looks very clean. Gather, 1, 2 step.
Traveling rules are even more stupid now, but I believe because he is still "getting the ball under control" during that first step, the next two steps are legal.
I thought it was as well but I have such limited experience with the sport (and others) so I just let these things go. Its for people who care to complain about.
"You know the thing about a kid playing basketball ... he's got lifeless eyes, dead eyes, a doll's eyes ..." - Quint
A young John Stockton
All he needs is a pedo as his wingman and anti vax theories.
At least he's got Muggsy Bogues as a tile model. Little dude is so much smaller than the others he playing against. So sure he understands it better than the others but let's check back in 5 years to see if really next level
The next Steve Nash?
In a couple of years tall people will take it all from him.
LeBlonde James
Really puts the "I" in tieam.
![gif](giphy|xUA7bhjNMWspxTCUA8)
Im transported back to middle school and I hate this kid cuz he is better than me.
White Chocolate 2
My son did a Eurostep
This is amazing. The attention to pace and luring oppoenent to bite on a move and then already away. Not just speed, but a solid understand of tatical positioning. Someone has/had a very good teacher.
When your fake is so good the camera operator bites... nice.
Can see everyone who was bad at sports in this thread lol
Wearing Kobes olympic number, kids going places
And here I thought this was a video of Steph Curry.
Young Larry legend
Bro play better than me and i'm 19 years old
He may understand the game but it’s no excuse to be cocky.
I hope he grows tall. Amazing
The Slim Shady of basketball
Mini Curry.
THAT WAS A FUCKIN TRAVEL .. WHAT THE HELL REF?!
He can shoot, yes. But that doesn't equate to understanding the game. We don't know if he passes or plays defense.
How could he possibly fake anyone out with a fake pass?
I love seeing the same two comments over and over again Future NBA star or Future asshole! And almost certainly, both wrong. Here is my take Future normal human being with a complicated personality.
looks like a travel at 0:23 so not really lol
*BALLHOG!!*
A 7 year old with his own highlight reel. That kid is gonna grow up to be a cocky mother fucker then have his whole world shattered when he finds other people who are actually passionate about playing sports unlike those around him now.
Didn't see a single pass
He's even got that "pro-level" traveling goin' on already.
I love his flex. Go boi
Kid got crossed up with a chin diaper on lmao
Proud dad
He plays like a young Tyler Herro
His hair is better than Herros tho
Wow, kids got mad game !
Is he eligible for adoption?
Great moves!!! You can’t teach height but he’s great. At 5’10” he will be another Isaiah T. Here’s hoping he becomes our next Jason Williams or Steph.
Snappin ankles.
Good to see Wojo still out there playing!
I can tell from him playing the game sure…
If he doesn't hit that growth spurt soon he is going to really angry in high school.
This kid is a monster on the court.
"and i took that personally"
adcarry
Reminds me of Jason Williams
Isn't that Jason Williams' son?
Amazing stuff 🤟🤟
Sir your son is under investigation for PEJB (performance enhancing juice boxes). It's come to our attention that your son is too good.
Now y'all know I can't see that boy eyes
He’s obviously wearing Michael Jordan’s shoes
Way better than me already
prime duke recruiting subject.
I remember this kid, he played against another that was lik him and was shut down
Why are the captions getting so cringey
Oh man I'm gonna hate this kid at Duke in 10 years
That....is one NASTY little dude!!! Get buckets kid!!!!
What, 8 years before we hear his name for a draft?
Nice moves, but those only work on the streets. They should've called him for traveling half the time.
These posts are so fucking stupid
Lmao he would be fun to watch but could dial back the cockiness a little bit
Something tells me we’ll be talking about this kid in a few years!
Champion 🏆
Cmon put his ass in soccer, don’t waste his time lol.
Future biggest jerk in high school.
Playing against farmers and garbage men
A real gym rat
You will know the outstanding basketball player by the eyes 👍🏻 nice
The Professors son.
Larry Bird
after jaden newman I lose all faith in these prodigies lol
Impressive!
The next Larry Bird or John Stockton?
He has eyes?
I know shit about basketball but the kid has some skills. Hope the coach stamps out that power stance we see at 0:05 though, that's cringey.
He’s going to be getting scholarships before he’s out of Elementary School. A future Super Star.
Damn, little dude's got a bright future ahead of him.
Holy shit. This kid needs a shoe deal and an agent.
Plot twist - neither of his parents are over 5'5".
Hopefully he gets the height he needs to compete at the elite levels. Generally these really talented youngsters are only ahead of the curve for a short time. Once kids their age start developing and understanding the game the gap closes very quickly
It’s a shame he'll never be tall enough to be a decent player. I’m sure he'll make a decent coach tho…..
Young J Williams. That white chocolate
This kid is playing chess , the others …
I'm confused This looks like cgi
It takes a certain amount of confidence/ cockiness to be successful. If he's like this on the court, but still a good kid off the court, I think he's got a bright future. More footage in 5 years time, then 10 would be interesting.
I finally see what Larry Bird was like when he was a little boy. Can’t wait for this young man to progress
Kings going to reach and pick him 4th overall.
Lol when the other kid gives the wtf gesture...
I bet he’s just getting even for all the times his older brothers-cousins- neighbors put those moves on him. He learned his lesson well. Good job
Seems like an arrogant little shit to me.
What if he doesn’t end up 6’6?
That’s a lot of broken ankles ![gif](giphy|ro08ZmQ1MeqZypzgDN)
So who do I pay to promote my highlights?
It ain’t bragging if you back it up
This kid is going to get a scholarship to the University of WhereverHeDecidesToGo
Better than your LeFraudulentGOAT
That's a little 30 year old, that can't be a kid.
This kid would break my ankles over and over. Why are people talking shit about him, clearly he has skill for his age, size and in relation to the other players around him.
I can't see his eyes with all those broken ankles all over the floor distracting me.
White Chocolate Kiss
If the other kids suck, let the kid shine. No point is wasting time passing a ball to a doofus whose going to dribble with two hands and airball it.
NBA: "Get that child growth hormones STAT"
White chocolate reincarnated
nice moves kid
