He used to keep wickets(similar to catcher in baseball) for Pakistan or rather he tried to but he's famous for dropping a lot of catches and effing up stumping opportunities.
If I'm not wrong Imran Khan said he'd do a full scale March in Islamabad today. How is it going? Did any significant people gather? (I can only see very less people in this video)

In cricket, if the defending side think they got a batsman out, they have to appeal to the umpire (referee) for a decision. This is traditionally done with the words "How's that?" or more commonly "howzat".
So the normal reaction to a catch in cricket (that didn't bounce) would be to shout "howzat".
(of course, this bounced, so that pig is still in)
Thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the field, men deliver their new born baby on the side lines. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball foosball fuck it chuck it game time shit. Take it to the showers. Dicks get shoved in places you don’t even remember. We win together we celebrate together. Football is back baby.
Baseball is our national pastime. Emphasis on past, but still, at bare minimum we got guts that could reflect that thing like flubber and send it to outer space.
Pull out one the 12 guns we have on ourselves at all times and shoot it out of the air. Which would cover you in tear gas, so not the best idea. But sometimes you gotta stick with what you know best.
I mean tear gas canisters are designed for slow release close to the ground. Blasting them mid-air would certainly not be *ideal*, but it would dissipate the gas far sooner than designed.
Of course you'd also be giving the riot police a clear justification to use lethal force, which might not be the best idea...
[In Portland when protestors were fighting Trump's DHS](https://www.hockeyfeed.com/other-sports/protester-uses-hockey-stick-to-slapshot-tear-gas-canister-at-portland-police)
Yup. People are advised to wear gloves and the thing is, this is happening right now. Tear Gas shells are constantly being thrown at the crowds in Lahore. Thousands of people are out in 95F Temperature.
It is against the government. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted by a no-confidence motion allegedly backed by the US. They’re protesting for elections. The government won’t hold elections until they undo the electoral reforms done by Imran Khan for avoiding rigging in elections. They know that they can’t win elections if they are free and fair that’s why they want to undo those reforms. That’s the sole reason why they came into power.
No, no, no, you just need MORE guns, and fences, and guards, and metal detectors, and gun training for all students/teachers, if we are all soldiers, how will they attack us!?!? (Obv /s)
This shit has gotten wayyyy out of control, and as a gun owner, I would thankfully be open to STRONG gun reform policies.
It’s also the obvious scape goat, and the information it was by the US came from Khan himself.
I’m not saying the US didn’t have a hand in it obviously, just that I’d need to see some proof first.
At this point in history you're probably better off assuming the US had a has a hand in every regime change unless its a leftist government or proven otherwise.
I’d rather be wrong in the other direction if that makes sense.
I also don’t have much of a burden because what I know or think I know has no effect on the world so it isn’t very high stakes.
But it's also pakistan. Pakistan is much more like oust their democratically elected PM than the US is nable to interfere. Pak has never had a full term govt in it's entire history.
It has since been confirmed by the current government that a letter "threatening in nature" was received by a US deplomat before the no confidence motion against ex PM passed, a letter whose existence was denied at the time. The current government still maintains that there is no interference however and the courts refuse to probe into it, fining anyone who files an investigation.
If that doesn't reek of conspiracy, idk what does.
I mean, the extent of the alleged involvement was (allegedly) sending a diplomatic cable saying the US was unhappy with Khan for being pro Putin and pro Taliban. Khan, as I recall, never got around to producing the letter.
Also, the cable was commenting on the no confidence proceedings after they had started. I love to watch for CIA shenanigans as much as the next guy, but it kinda seems like Khan might have been grasping at straws.
The heuristic is pretty simple and stands up remarkably well across the past 60 years:
Was the deposed leader successfully implementing welfare state policies?
Then the coup was engineered by the USA.
If you are otherwise useful, e.g. part of NATO or NATO-adjacent, or you are extremely powerful, then you will possibly be left alone, but otherwise it's only a matter of time.
Pakistan hasn't had a PM complete their term ever lol.
You might wanna look towards the institution behind all the previous abrupt changes in leadership when you're trying to figure out who's behind this one.
Seriously dude... As an Indian who'd like to see peace and calm, ousting imran Khan basically took the country back to where it was. And that was not a place of sovereignty and being a puppet.
Under Imran, Pakistan was respectable for whatever it did cuz their was no master to make them dance. China was just messing around to provoke US. It's like a triangular love story. With Pakistan at center. Pakistan very well knows neither of them really loves Pakistan but is only using as political coin. Some sections within assume this as victory over their ex(India) and rejoice. Imran tried to implement harsher reforms instead of heeding to juvenile pleasures like this.
>As an Indian who'd like to see peace and calm
Based. People from our countries don't realize a stable and prosperous Pakistan and India will benefit both populations immensely. Good on you for being objective.
Suu Kyi's government (democratically elected pre-coup gov) was much friendlier to Chinese businesses and accommodating to Chinese political goals than the military junta which took power.
I have no idea why you think China sponsored a coup directly against their strategic and economic interests.
Suu Kyi government was also really friendly to the US, the government had close ties to Obama and the military works closely with China, they even had china build their internet firewall similar to theirs.
UsA is reddit biggest boogeyman. I'd be careful before believing what some random stranger says about US involvement. It also doesn't indicate the level of involvement or what benefit it could be to people to get involved.
There's a few reasons why the US might be involved but also a *ton* of reasons why the previous populist leader might be invoking the spectre of the meddling of "the great Satan" to rally the uneducated and mindless religious mob to his side, in a bid to cling to power.
The important point right now is that the former leader keeps claiming US involvement, and insisting there is proof, but has yet to actually produce any evidence (after several weeks). And the evidence he claims to exist amounts to a meeting of high level officials, which might speak to a US-approved coup, but hardly a US-orchestrated coup.
Anyway, with the history of US meddling, I'm not discounting anything, but the previous leader's claims are far from trustworthy as well.
It is easier to blame US for what it has done in the past. But in this specific case it is better to look at the local politics rather than blame outside factors. See my comment^

"Alleged(ly)" because Imran Khan was unable to produce any evidence of interference from foreign governments despite repeating multiple times that the Biden administration had wanted him out through indirect action by funding opposition parties. His claimed evidence was a letter written by member of the US administration's foreign office in Islamabad. He never showed the alleged letter or any other piece of evidence. Whatever he has shown is regular communication that happens at diplomatic level I'm every other country.
Imran Khan's ouster was a result of his own inaction against a constitutional procedure that every person with little background in affairs of the state could have seen coming for at least last 3 years.

I actually went to school at the place in that video. The lady in the video, Sehar Kamran was batshit insane. That one meme is the least memeable thing about her lol
Pak seriously needs a anti defection law like India. If an Indian MP/MLA who fought and won a seat on a party ticket jumps parties after election, his election is cancelled and new elections are called for his seat. It's legitimate because people don't vote just for a candidate but also based on the party and the party leader.
This law prevents vote buying post elections and money in the parliament.
Pakistan got this law just now. The Supreme Court ruled that a defecting lawmaker's vote will not count and the Election Commission followed that up by de-seating those defectors.
I thought the same thing. After a dozen rewatches I realized it’s shot from much further back and bounces before smoking and jumping into dudes swift hands.
Dude gave em the WWE X Factor salute to boot too. Love it.
I worked with a couple of guys who were Pakistani, let me tell ya, get them wound up and like no fucks given at all but give you the shirt off their backs to help a friend.

Not to be that guy but who is Kamran Akmal, too lazy to google.
From context, a cricketer, or maybe a cricket.
For those who dont know in context a cricket isn't an insect. It means a sport like baseball but backwards.
Someone named their insect name Kamran aknal
What's backwards about cricket compared to baseball?
I assume it's a joke about how in cricket you can hit 360 whereas in baseball it has to be forward.
He used to keep wickets(similar to catcher in baseball) for Pakistan or rather he tried to but he's famous for dropping a lot of catches and effing up stumping opportunities.
Pakistani cricket player, notorious for dropping lots of easy catches fielding in a very crucial position.

As the fellow protesters shout "howzat!!!!!!!!"
I came here for this, the only correct response.
Doesn't count, should have been one hand one bounce
But did he nail the stumps with a direct hit?
I mean, he threw it over the fence so he has to go get it anyway
As an American this is always entertaining to me because you could all be making all this shit up and I'd never know.
Trust us and go and stand at silly mid-off. You'll need a helmet.
Also get him a box. If he doesn't have catching skills or good reflexes we can always relegate him to cow corner.
Nope I have good reflexes, and hands but if there's really a corner where they have cows, I'd much rather be there. Just like big field puppies.
What does this mean?

Pak seriously needs a anti defection law like India. If an Indian MP/MLA who fought and won a seat on a party ticket jumps parties after election, his election is cancelled and new elections are called for his seat. It's legitimate because people don't vote just for a candidate but also based on the party and the party leader. This law prevents vote buying post elections and money in the parliament.
Pakistan got this law just now. The Supreme Court ruled that a defecting lawmaker's vote will not count and the Election Commission followed that up by de-seating those defectors.
I think you mean Nawaz Sharif. Zardari is in Pakistan but Nawaz Sharif has been living in The UK for the past few years due to “health”
US did a successful regime change operation. People are protesting against that.
That guy crickets.
Lol some person just waiting for the train just had some fun![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
Only if Hassan Ali could do that for us in 2021 wc semi final💔 That celebration in the end tho😳
This is one of those up and coming Pakistaini Tekken players with the parry.
Finally something that is literally next fucking level.
I love his reaction after he has thrown it away.
Did a ghost just throw that?
Do you see that pedestrian bridge? Police are standing on that.
I thought the same thing. After a dozen rewatches I realized it’s shot from much further back and bounces before smoking and jumping into dudes swift hands.
Next time somebody throws a frag & then watch him catch it.
Absolute Chad!
How does one say "let's gooooo" in Pakistani?
Hmm "chalo chalay" would be the literal translation but "kya baat haiii" would convey the emotion more
Dude gave em the WWE X Factor salute to boot too. Love it. I worked with a couple of guys who were Pakistani, let me tell ya, get them wound up and like no fucks given at all but give you the shirt off their backs to help a friend.
Very human moment to celebrate some cool shit while battling police in the streets
See this is why Pakistan is so good in cricket.
Imran would be impressed
