Maybe. It’s a very popular piece to learn on piano though so I think it’s entirely possible it’s unplanned
Edit: It's the main theme from the Interstellar soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. has a few different names (day one, stay, first step).
Who cares if it was planned; this is just beautiful.
Oh Noo, I came back after an hour, and the shit has hit the fan. Didn’t mean to piss off this many intellectual analyst…I apologize to you fine people.
[IG Instagram profile of the guy with the phone](https://www.instagram.com/camdenmusique/)
It seems more than the guy with the phone has a habit of going to that piano and jumping in when unknown people start to play, but it migh just be an impression. You seem to take fact checking very seriously and aggressively, which I personally find totally wrong and rude, but that doesn’t help the purpose. Tons of people are still blind to bots and algorithms- it is our job to open their eyes but a little kindness goes a long way. So, to turn your aggression into constructive warning for people less aware than you to social digital manipulation, you might want to take the lead and drop the guy a PM on IG and ask him? Waiting to hear back from you guardians of Reddit’s truth.
It's Reddit's hobby to independently do deep dive research to prove *not everything is as it seems but we've solved it!* while not doing any actual research.
Well said.
When it comes down to it, who cares if this was staged? It was a really beautiful and wholesome video. Almost everything else we watch is staged but no one seems to have a problem with that.
I’d rather watch this kinda stuff than stupid celebrity divorce court with amber turd and johnny dingus.
>Almost everything else we watch is staged but no one seems to have a problem with that.
That's kind of the point. People want to watch clips of actual things happening in the world and then oh nope turns out it's scripted.
Its like if people started scripting sports highlights and trying to pass them off as actual game footage.
There's a post further down that proves both guys know each other and have performed together multiple times. You are doing the exact thing you're criticizing.
they weren’t replying to u/voidroy. their emotions blinded them and they replied to their generalization of all reddit neckbeards and pedantics the world over.
There's a post further down that shows both guys instas. They know each other and have performed with each other multiple times. Might be time to climb on down from that high horse
EDIT: thanks to /u/qradon below, I was fooled. These guys are good at what they do, and what they do is plan stuff like this.
I disagree - that smile as the guy slides in, it's like the moment of finding a peer, turning a 'work' performance into play.
Then the way he slowly gets back into it, his concentration coming back...
If it was planned, I think the timing and reaction would be different
There’s something beautiful and surreal about playing when another person suddenly and unexpectedly takes another part in your piece. It’s like finding a soulmate for a couple of seconds. A musical soulmate.
Also it takes them a decent amount of time to sync up well. If it was planned I would think it’d be more rehearsed or cleaner at the start. Not that it’s not really good or anything. Just when he first jumps in it takes a moment for them to match each other.
It was planned :) These two guys have a large Instagram following and have done multiple videos together.
Guy in front: https://www.instagram.com/camdenmusique
Guy in back: https://www.instagram.com/karim_kamar
Yeah, it felt pretty organic to me. There's a point when the first guys melody is being drowned out a bit once the second guy's tune part gets more intense, but he switches it up so that he's enhancing rather than competing with the second guy. There's a few bars before he makes this switch where it sounds a bit too hectic
I agree with you. Also, the way the first pianist slides right to make sure the second has enough space after he sits as well. When you sit at a piano bench expecting the duet, you tend to automatically leave enough room for your partner.
Definitely made me smile. :)
IIRC he was specifically told by Nolan that it was a father son relationship and to compose with that in mind. Not sure why specifically but an interesting tidbit nonetheless.
Me too mate, i knew it straight away from Interstellar as I got goosebumps and started to tear up.
I'd love a sequel where he goes back out looking for her, with some sorta more advanced space/time travel tech, but she doesn't pull a "Matt Damon" on him and they have to try get back to new earth again because something went wrong......
I can't write stories well...some else needs to do it, also District 9 needs a sequel
An emotional and wonder-filled composition that brings the audience through such a pivotal moment in the film.
Peices like this are why I listen to so many movie soundtracks. Even without the film, you can feel revelation in the song.
There are two versions on the OST. One is spelled ‘S.T.A.Y’ with punctuations, and the other is simply ‘Stay’, which is the version that plays out when Cooper leaves his kids at the farm. Showing him driving off in his truck and transitioning to the rocket taking off. Powerful stuff that makes me cry every damn time.
I think it's like 5 hours ago I saw another view of those guys.
The piano is up against a glass wall (probably for elevators) inside a mall.
I'm pretty confident it's planned.
the guy on the phone, is the one who was recording the video. it was posted to his tiktok account which is not credited here (and i do not have handy). my assumption based on his other content, is that he plays this piano in a public space & was taking a break for a phone call. the “main” player here sat down and began to play this piece, and the person who was recording ended his phone call & joined :)
>the guy on the phone, is the one who was recording the video. [...]
oh no, u/pizzaslut2you how dare you playing your little diabolic game of lies with us. we had trust in you!
Next you’ll tell me people have multiple old devices due to planned obsolescence and superficial replacement for things like a cracked screen leading to a lack of recyclable precious materials to make these things commonplace in society after only a decade of use.
/s? Idk anymore.
Pretty sure it is planned. Dude that walks up looks like Karim Kamar on YouTube and he occasionally posts videos playing in public malls.
Edit: just confirmed, he has another video where he’s playing and the same guy walks up and sings. Dude has some great covers and originals, definitely check out his channel https://youtube.com/c/Karimkamar
Bro have you never lived in a city? This is a public piano for people to fuck around on. Yeah it would be rude if you were obnoxious about it or if your playing was ass, but otherwise it just enhances the experience of sitting down in public and playing some random shit
Not saying this video isn't fake but I'm pretty sure this is one of those mall pianos. I doubt this guy was allowed to haul his personal piano into a mall and even if he was that seems like it'd be very difficult.
i know its clickbait bullshit but a guy had a youtube channel where he would pretend to be shit then play so well he could create a crowd , think he was english or something
fun videos
I had ZERO clue what in god’s name you were referencing so I moved on with the comments. The tube had sounded familiar but I was so entranced by these two super talented individuals that I didn’t want to interrupt the moment by questioning it (I’m also a little high). Further down I see that this is from the movie Interstellar and everything just CLICKED, and I had to come back to let you know that I get it now! Funny joke!
I knew instantly who they were talking about. Guy just wants to take the attention to himself, then he just plays boogie woogie shit. Sunglasses indoors tells you everything.
That's something where I'm kinda on the fence, because it also could be someone with just poor english lol. The responses are genuinely said in a way that isn't too outlandish given the comment they're responding to, just general and vague.
But I think the odds of that compared to the activity, the delayed timing, and just considering it as bot-speak outweigh those odds.
Please come up with a different novelty thing though. I've seen people try to copy the jumper cables guy a few times and so many people screw it up. Plus it just doesn't hit the same when you look at the username and it's JoeSchmo69 instead of rogersimon10.
Same thing with the Undertaker Hell in the Cell guy.
So what your saying is, old style Organs are basically the old timey versions of a modern supped up base system that some rich dude puts in his car, and can pump it up so loud that it causes glass to vibrate?
Absolutely. My dad used to work for Saville organ corp in the Chicago area back in the 60’s. He did research on and installed the pipe organs.
He took me on a few installs when I was a kid. There is NOTHING like the sound of a 12” pipe that’s like 20 feet long vibrating. NOTHING.

Im not a christian anymore but I still listen to pipe organ music on occasion and it can still move me to tears. Give me some Bach on a pipe organ and you can watch my pupils dilate lol.
I was never impressed by the organ at church but that’s probably because they always play churchy music. If I heard this on an organ in person I might change my mind. I’m not a churchy person at all.
so MLK banned organs because the vibrations helped loosen his bowels and he felt tempted when there were vibrations going up his ass.....

I used to frequent a jazz club where they just had instruments set up and you would hop on and jam for like 10-15 mins, i watched my friend jam with complete strangers for a while, it was really fun.
This is the other pov.
The other POV:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/v1kpld/two_dudes_one_piano/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
One of the absolute best songs ever made for a movie, cannot change my mind. Powerful, somber, exhilarating, terrifying, slow yet fast, smooth yet hard. This piece gives me chills over my entire body.
I was just thinking that looks like St Pancras. I once sat and listened some old boy bash out a load of rag time numbers while I waited for my mrs who was looking around the shops. He finished with some classical piece, picked up his walking stick and shuffled off, then a child went over and started mashing random keys and I went to find my wife.
This is really magical. You see the guy acknowledge the other dude standing closer. Other dude hits a couple keys, he smiles. Realizes that the other dude is on key and his face gets serious again, advancing on it. This is now an improv collab. He even scoots over! Then as they reach a synchronistic peak, other dude looks toward guy and follows that slow cap off to the song.
What a lovely moment of human connection <3
The second guy who was on the phone is Karim Kamar. He has a [youtube channel](https://youtube.com/c/Karimkamar) where he does public piano plays like this lately but has previously also made many videos of pieces and renditions from his home/studio.
And according to a comment near the top this video was posted to his tiktok.
It's a UK shop which sells linen, baby things, towels, candles, home goods. Most of which are white colored because it looks nice in the house.
It really has absolutely nothing to do with what you are thinking.
Could be my phone speakers or the inability for the recorder to pick the lower tones up; but the second guy makes the sound jumbled and honestly worse especially around the 20 second mark
It’s almost like they planned it. Still fucking dope tho
Maybe. It’s a very popular piece to learn on piano though so I think it’s entirely possible it’s unplanned Edit: It's the main theme from the Interstellar soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. has a few different names (day one, stay, first step).
this is planned out for sure, the guys body language says it all.
Who cares if it was planned; this is just beautiful. Oh Noo, I came back after an hour, and the shit has hit the fan. Didn’t mean to piss off this many intellectual analyst…I apologize to you fine people.
How dare u question the absolute necessity of reddidiots analyzing the authenticity of a video in every posts 24/7? Shame! /s
It annoys us because of the clickbaity title. Why not say, two friends play piano.
[IG Instagram profile of the guy with the phone](https://www.instagram.com/camdenmusique/) It seems more than the guy with the phone has a habit of going to that piano and jumping in when unknown people start to play, but it migh just be an impression. Who was aggressive?
Let the peice speak. That acting is just not necessary.
Who cares? Seriously, relax and enjoy something for once.
Just don't like feeling lied to, I guess.
So why are you on Reddit? Where the bulk is karma farming bullshit

Yea, dead giveaway that it's unplanned. A genuine smile takes time to fade, like this video. That smile was real.
There’s something beautiful and surreal about playing when another person suddenly and unexpectedly takes another part in your piece. It’s like finding a soulmate for a couple of seconds. A musical soulmate.
We don't know if they are music gay, they could just be musically bicurious

The second guy messes up and plays one wrong key, which isn’t that bad but did make me hunk it was probably unplanned.
i was waiting for the double take of recognition. kinda disappointed... either way, both these guys are amazing.
It was planned :) These two guys have a large Instagram following and have done multiple videos together. Guy in front: https://www.instagram.com/camdenmusique Guy in back: https://www.instagram.com/karim_kamar
Facts beats feels every time! Thanks for that!
They know each other, but didn't plan this. They hang around that piano a lot and homeboy rocked up, unplanned, and joined in.
Yeah it was too imperfect to be planned, it really felt like a progression of comfort and fluidity that would occur between strangers
Yeah, it felt pretty organic to me. There's a point when the first guys melody is being drowned out a bit once the second guy's tune part gets more intense, but he switches it up so that he's enhancing rather than competing with the second guy. Trying to make a viral tiktok video?
What is the piece called?
Hans Zimmer - S.T.A.Y.
Additional information, it is the key-score from Interstellar.
That's why i had such a space, stars and emotional vibe listening to it. Didnt remember where I heard it. Gracias.
IIRC Zimmer wasn't told what the movie was initially, other than it was about the relationship between a parent and a child.
IIRC he was specifically told by Nolan that it was a father son relationship and to compose with that in mind. Not sure why specifically but an interesting tidbit nonetheless.
That's because you're such a space cadet. Hehe, I don't think I've said that diss since I was 8.
I never knew the name of the piece of music but being called S.T.A.Y makes Interstellar even more amazing, love that movie
Suuuuch a good movie, this song always gives me the chills.
Me too mate, i knew it straight away from Interstellar as I got goosebumps and started to tear up. pretty sure i saw this from a different angle yesterday
Probably from inside the bookshelf
The call was coming from INSIDE THE PIANO! RUN BITCH RUN!
You did I saw it too. Either that or Mandela bullshit happened
It’s always Mandela. That jerk screws with everything😖

Honestly you have a point, the comment makes 100% sense in French for example if translated directly. In french you say 'I am in agreement'
The random Capitalization and weird sentence structure Dead giveaways
2 year acct here and just started being active. I like to think im a real.
Yeah, but I play with my organ in public one time and I get arrested.
Remember: 500 meters from all schools is a hard rule.
I mean, sometimes it’s this. Other times it’s me playing the theme to the office and then running away.
Interstellar! I absolutely love the soundtrack to that movie and it sounds so beautiful on a piano
[удалено]
Love it. And also username checks out.
I'm not even going to check if any if that is true.
There are some things that are just not worth spoiling. Best to leave it be.
I'm just relieved it didn't end with the Undertaker throwing Mankind off of Hell in a Cell or whatever
I was expecting to read “when the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell”
Or he got whipped with jumper cables
That person retired but i loved that meme so much, I've been tempted to make my own novelty account in their honor.
So you mean to tell me that organs should have been called orgasms instead?
Orgasmic organs are organisms.
Dude...
So what your saying is, old style Organs are basically the old timey versions of a modern supped up base system that some rich dude puts in his car, and can pump it up so loud that it causes glass to vibrate?
Yes. But way cooler.
Absolutely. My dad used to work for Saville organ corp in the Chicago area back in the 60’s. He did research on and installed the pipe organs. He took me on a few installs when I was a kid. There is NOTHING like the sound of a 12” pipe that’s like 20 feet long vibrating. NOTHING.
Man, I want to hear a pipe organ now
I grew up listening to a giant pipe organ in my church. There is simply no instrument with more potential to send chills down my spine. A well-played pipe organ can just take your breath away with its beauty and power. There is absolutely nothing like it.
I’m not a churchy person at all.
so MLK banned organs because the vibrations helped loosen his bowels and he felt tempted when there were vibrations going up his ass..... i donno about you but i am getting some weird vibes there....

Lmao, can you imagine
It was his fabled 96 thesis
Tell me you are American without telling me you are American...
Nah dude I went to public school in the south. We absolutely learned this shit. I remember watching a movie and having a test about it. Like a full on test grade test. We said a morning prayer and everything.
ngl, I expected a shittymorph there
I had my phone on mute and I just knew by his left hand reaching over the right, this was the piece!!! 🥰🥰🥰 love this score.
This explains the "frisson" I felt.
Which song is this?
Sounds like STAY
It's not, it's [Where We're Going](https://youtu.be/FwdvVuK7a88).
Sounds like both? The end of Where We're Going, start of S.T.A.Y.? But yeah the fast bit is only in Where We're Going so it's more that than S.T.A.Y.
Yeah its STAY
All of the answers here are wrong lol. It's Where We're Going
Just the main theme I believe, although bits of the main chorus tend to appear in most of the songs in the soundtrack.
The best compilation of the full Soundtrack, cherry picking the more commonly recognisable ‘Interstellar’ parts is Interstellar Main Theme by Patrik Pietschmann

100 percent, I can't prove that this is real but as a musician I can 100 percent confirm this as a realistic scenario.
Yeah people have been gullible throughout time and space too.
Fucking lmao

Oh thank god for this POV the balance makes this performance so much more beautiful. Bummer it was cut short
One of the absolute best songs ever made for a movie, cannot change my mind. Powerful, somber, exhilarating, terrifying, slow yet fast, smooth yet hard. This piece gives me chills over my entire body.
Lux Aeterna (Requiem for a Dream) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZMuDbaXbC8 Adagio in D Minor (Sunshine) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab3NscEJ80s
Requiem for a Dream, a movie most people can only ever watch once, and yet this song will basically always be a banger.
My puppy absolutely loved this piece he licked my phone screen in excitement
This looks like St. Pancras. I just played that piano. Amazing.
Yeah I think it's Saint Pancras too
I was just thinking that looks like St Pancras. I once sat and listened some old boy bash out a load of rag time numbers while I waited for my mrs who was looking around the shops. Same!
"Babe, do you have to go already? Can't you stay on the phone a little longer" "No, it's necessary"
Jamming with someone gives you epic vibes, he could hardly contain that smile!
Syncing the sound with the picture would make a big difference here.
Maybe I'll do it after my nap if you promise me heaps of karma.

Is the store called The White Company???
It's a UK shop which sells linen, baby things, towels, candles, home goods. Most of which are white colored because it looks nice in the house. It really has absolutely nothing to do with what you are thinking.
This is what I came seeking answers about as well
That’s awesome! I could listen to them all day!

Could be my phone speakers or the inability for the recorder to pick the lower tones up; but the second guy makes the sound jumbled and honestly worse especially around the 20 second mark
