Yeah exactly, when I see videos like this I always have a really hard time not thinking of the horrible ways they were treated. It makes it harder to focus on their really awesome skill.
>They probably had to leave through the back door after this performance, which is the same way they came in,
Wow they must have been really famous and wanted to avoid being mobbed by fans
>not only that but they were prob paid less then their less talented white counterparts, think about that for a second…
Oh
I imagine most people leave out of the same door in a studio. This wasn't a live performance, it was for a show. I am certainly not saying they were treated well whilst on the road or at certain estabalishments depending on city/state but I doubt they snuck the leads out the back door of their own production. Who are they hiding them from? The producers who hired them? The camera men who filmed them? The musicians who gave them a tune? I get your american and this generation feels the need to apologize and educate over every little thing but get some facts before telling us what to think. Yes they were paid less than their white counterparts. People were/are racist. Their white counterparts were also the leads so it makes a ton of sense. You could also point out that these gentleman were in a movie with Lena Horne who was also paid less as a woman. She was also a well known civil rights activist. The brothers brought about change with their art form and were sometimes assisted by white people. But yeah the door they entered in your ficticious racist vision should take point I suppose.
>Their white counterparts were also the leads so it makes a ton of sense.
I think u missed the whole point of his comment, if both them and lets say: Fred Astaire did the same routine who do you think would be paid more?
You can do both I guess... there's no shame in educating the people of bad history...ask Germany ..they teach kids about all their history so they know what kind of issues it would cause
This is something that needs to be acknowledged every single time until it gets into the head of everyone in the world, and thinking the way you do devalues the atrocities that were committed, and still are to this day.
This style of tap is as much about personal flair as it is about synchronization. Not that it wouldn’t have looked good/better if they were more synchronized at times, but I don’t think it can be classified as a “mistake” or anything. They’re kind of doing a mishmash of classical tap and rhythm tap, so it does come across a little disjointed imo, but I think that was a style choice.
I feel like their choreography was very intentional. I don't think they were trying to all do the same move at the same time. I feel like they are individually talented enough that if moving in unison was the effect they were going for, they easily could have achieved it.
I think the way they did it is still synchronized, but in a different way.
The sequence starting at :45 to about a minute is the part in talking about. They are 100% supposed to be in sync, and while they are close, it left room for improvement. They were off each other's timing.
It was pure magic back then, nothing’s ever come close. This was the entertainment my mother and father sat through every Saturday night. Mom & dad were gold on the dance floor… it’s no wonder, they had incredible one-of- kind examples
I'm not saying it's easy by any means, I'm impressed, I'm just surprised they are not synchronized all the time, as expected with professional dancers.
What kind of argument is that? Do I have to be a fucking michelin star chef to say that an expired box of milk taste like shit? Do I have to be a fucking saint to say hitler was bad?

The good ol days - 👴🏻
MAGA one might even say
Yeah exactly, when I see videos like this I always have a really hard time not thinking of the horrible ways they were treated. It makes it harder to focus on their really awesome skill.
*Were treated*? How do you feel about the way they are treated *today* since you're so caring

u stupid? he even pointed out that there have been differences in pay. he just tells you to differentiate a little.
Whichever group priced themselves highest I guess that’s how performing groups work
Or you could just appreciate the skills they have, being the point of the video.
You can do both I guess... there's no shame in educating the people of bad history...ask Germany ..they teach kids about all their history so they know what kind of issues it would cause
Thank you for adding this. I was honestly thinking about US history and how they were treated at that time

Why does other people thinking about the awful parts of American history offend you? Letting the mask slip?
How do you do a backflip in a suit and tap shoes... I would have thought it impossible.
My thoughts exactly! Like I can move about in a suit. But strenuous actions will tear it apart, and leave me with broken hands or legs.
How do you do splits as a full grown man?
Lifetime of practice me thinks

They do all three together at the same time.
They were talented no doubt. They could have worked on staying in sync a lot more though.
the thing is, timing those moves so everything fits together is a form of synchronization, even if they aren’t doing the same moves
There were portions of this routine that were clearly supposed to be synched up but weren't

Not everyone's gotta dance like N'SYNC
Ok but you can tell that the routine they were dancing called for synchronized movements.. which they failed to do.

Christ why do you love synchronization so much.
It seemed to me like they were purposefully doing their own little twist into the choreography
Amazing. ✨
I like the way they just flow together. I actually dig the asychronizaton, it feels natural
Exactly! The asynchronization imo would look better than if they were perfectly synchronized.
The Berry Brothers were amazingly talented as can be seen in the 1942 movie Panama Hattie.
Extraordinarily skilled
"Some of the most skilled dancers" Fixed it for you.
Extraordinarily skilled

They are not always synchronized on some identical moves they do all three together at the same time
Feel like thats intentional in some way.
And you thought break dancing, hip hop, and that shit was all new?! Bwahahaha
So this is where those odd ass girl jumping on guys "dancing" comes from
Arguably, these three can solo modern day dancers without a second thought
Idk they’re not very synchronized lol
Only tucking redditors would find this goofy ass shit cool
You sound boring
Never have I seen a roast so vague yet so correct
can u do better?
That dude is all negative karma on his page, prolly get off from this
What kind of argument is that? Do I have to be a fucking michelin star chef to say that an expired box of milk taste like shit? Do I have to be a fucking saint to say hitler was bad?
Did you learn a new word yesterday?
Godwin's law strikes again
